Fall Out Boy have cemented their position as one of rock music’s biggest-selling bands. In January 2023, Fall Out Boy announced that their eighth studio album  So Much (For) Stardust  will be released March 24 th 2023 on Fueled By Ramen/Elektra.

The album marks the band’s first new album in more than five years. In July 2021, Fall Out Boy embarked on THE HELLA MEGA TOUR in the US alongside Green Day & Weezer, playing live in front of over 1 million fans on a sold-out global stadium tour and marking the first time the three bands had headed out on the road together.

The U.S. leg included numerous sold-out stadium gigs – including renowned venues like Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Boston’s Fenway Park and Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium. Critical and fan acclaim poured in, with  USA Today  hailing it “the most stacked line-up of any rock tour in 2021,”  Billboard  noting that each night was “serving up a buffet of hits in front of one of the largest concert crowds,” and  Rolling Stone  calling it “wildly entertaining.” The tour was nominated for both Major Tour of the Year and Best Rock Tour at the Pollstar Awards in 2021. The international leg of the tour took place throughout the summer of 2022.

Fall Out Boy’s seventh studio album  M A  N  I  A   debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in January 2018 and garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album. The record marked the band’s third consecutive and fourth overall #1 album respectively in the US and their third consecutive #2 album in the UK. The album featured the global smash “The Last of the Real Ones.

In 2015, Fall Out Boy released their platinum, sixth studio album  AMERICAN BEAUTY/AMERICAN PSYCHO , which   debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, #2 on the UK Official Albums Chart and peaked at #1 on iTunes in more than 22 countries upon its January 2015 release. The album’s first two singles “Centuries” and “Uma Thurman” have been RIAA-certified 4x and 2x platinum, respectively.

AMERICAN BEAUTY/AMERICAN PSYCHO  followed the GRAMMY-nominated band’s gold-certified album  SAVE ROCK AND ROLL,  which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, #2 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart and #1 on iTunes in 27 countries upon its April 2012 release and features the multiplatinum hit “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” and hit “Alone Together.”  SAVE ROCK AND ROLL  was the band’s second #1 debut; Platinum selling “Infinity On High” topped the US chart in 2007, reached #3 in the UK and followed multi-platinum breakthrough album “From Under The Cork Tree” released in 2005.

They were most recently nominated for a 2019 MTV Video Music Award for BEST ROCK VIDEO (“Bishops Knife Trick”) and have won FAVORITE ARTIST: ALTERNATIVE ROCK at the 2015 American Music Awards, BEST ROCK VIDEO at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and BEST ALTERNATIVE BAND at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards. Fall Out Boy has also written the song “Immortals,” featured in the Oscar®-nominated Disney hit movie  Big Hero  6, which topped the box office upon its November 2014 release and has already surpassed $222 million at the domestic U.S. box office and topped $650 million globally.

Hailing from Chicago, Fall Out Boy—Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Trohman (guitar) and Andy Hurley (drums)—has appeared on the cover of  Rolling Stone  and other prestigious publications.

They have performed on  Saturday Night Live ,  The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America  and many more. Green Day performing in Manchester on the Saviors tour

Green Day live in Manchester: an emphatic celebration of two timeless albums

June 21, Emirates Old Trafford: The ‘Saviors’ tour touches down in the UK as punk rock’s top dogs flex their muscles – playing ‘Dookie’ and ‘American Idiot’ in full

Fourteen years on since hosting one of their first UK stadium shows, Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground is once again gearing up to welcome Green Day . Their last touring run this side of the Atlantic was their outrageous 2022 ‘Hella Mega Tour’ with Fall Out Boy and Weezer , and they’ve somehow found a springboard to go one step further: celebrating 30 years of ‘Dookie’ and 20 of ‘American Idiot’ by playing both albums in full. Fair game, Billie Joe Armstrong – there’s not a soul in this stadium who won’t welcome tonight’s trip down memory lane.

  • READ MORE: Green Day on their relationship with Courtney Love and plans for more surprise live shows

Nostalgia doesn’t define this Green Day gig, however. It’s also a first outing for January’s album ‘Saviors’ – deemed by NME their best since ‘American Idiot’ – and lead single ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’ ushers in the 37-song set, after the customary intro run of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Blitzkrieg Bop’, ‘We Will Rock You’ – et cetera. Traditions might be upheld, but there’s enough fresh material and stage production to remind the masses that this is a newly crafted Green Day live show.

On the right side of the fine line between corny and masterful, a gigantic curtain of fire blows up on stage, recreating the iconic ‘Dookie’ artwork as the trio power through their breakout album. Underpinned by a sense of urgency, ‘Burnout’ and ‘When I Come Around’ sound particularly slick, whilst ‘Basket Case’ sends Old Trafford into pandemonium for the first time.

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day performing in Manchester on the Saviors tour

As the sun battles the Manchester drizzle, the emergence of a double rainbow only ups the majesty of this occasion. By the time we reach ‘American Idiot’, Armstrong has hit red-hot form, and the volume seems to have been cranked up a notch. There’s no room for ‘21 Guns’ on this setlist, but the emotional potency of ‘Boulevard Of Broken Dreams’ feels magnified.

The screen illuminates with purples and pinks as the band rattle through ‘Saviors’ material playing the material like it’s already classic. ‘One Eyed Bastard’ – effectively P!nk’s ‘So What’ with added distortion – is especially raucous. Staying invigorated after three decades is no mean feat, but Green Day make it look effortless.

With Foo Fighters , Pearl Jam , The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer all playing UK shows over the month, it’s an understatement to say rock fans are spoilt for choice. The pick of the bunch, however, might just be Green Day’s ‘Saviors’ tour: combining class, youthfulness and scruffy punk anthems into a trademark stadium-rock event.

Green Day played:

‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’ ‘Burnout’ ‘Having A Blast’ ‘Chump’ ‘Longview’ ‘Welcome To Paradise’ ‘Pulling Teeth’ ‘Basket Case’ ‘She’ ‘Sassafras Roots’ ‘When I Come Around’ ‘Coming Clean’ ‘Emenius Sleepus’ ‘In the End’ ‘F.O.D.’ ‘All by Myself’ ‘Know Your Enemy’ ‘Look Ma, No Brains!’ ‘One Eyed Bastard’ ‘Dilemma’ ‘Minority’ ‘Brain Stew’ ‘American Idiot’ ‘Jesus of Suburbia’ ‘Holiday’ ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ ‘Are We The Waiting’ ‘St. Jimmy’ ‘Give Me Novocaine’ ‘She’s a Rebel’ ‘Extraordinary Girl’ ‘Letterbomb’ ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ ‘Homecoming’ ‘Whatsername’ ‘Bobby Sox’ ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’

H it musical Bat out of Hell, featuring the music of Meatloaf and Jim Steinman, is flying back to Manchester on a new UK tour. The fantasy musical had its world premiere at Manchester Opera House back in 2017 and has gone on to wow audiences across the world.

Following a successful UK, Ireland and International tour from 2021 - 2023. the award-winning Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical will return to Manchester in February 2025 at the Palace Theatre as part of the UK wide tour. Performances begin on 6 January 2025 at Edinburgh Playhouse, running through to 20 September 2025 in Northampton.

Inspired by the spectacular arena tour of Australia and New Zealand, the reimagined show promises to be a thrilling experience, featuring a dynamic eight-piece rock band on stage and sprawling multi-level platforms that transport the audience through the diverse worlds of Bat Out of Hell, from Raven’s bedroom to the depths of the Lost’s underground domains.

‘An emo kid’s dream’ – Fall Out Boy’s insanely intimate gig at Band on the Wall, Manchester

The chance to see them performing in the 500-capacity venue is seriously rare.

Sophey Donohue

It’s been five long years without new music from pop-punk icons Fall Out Boy – and rather than launching back into our lives with a huge arena show, the American rockers chose one of Manchester’s most intimate venues for their return.

The Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum group announced a very special intimate performance at Band on the Wall just last week, with tickets selling out in minutes.

The chance to see them performing in the 500-capacity venue is the stuff of a former emo kid’s wildest dreams.

Fall Out Boy are here to celebrate the release of So Much (For) Stardust, their first album since Mania in 2018.

They open the show with the first release from the new album, ‘Love from the Other Side’, the room immediately erupting in unified, punk-rock glee. The lads seemingly revel in the crowd belting back the lyrics of the two-week old track.

Then it’s a jump back 10 years with The Phoenix, a track taken from the album Save Rock n Roll, the record that brought them back together from their hiatus.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by THE MANC AUDIO 🎙 (@themancaudio)

Despite Patrick Stump being the lead singer, and all individual members having their own long-standing fan bases, Pete Wentz takes the lead with crowd interactions, talking to us between songs and keeping us hyped during.

But of course, the 90-minute set gives each member their own time to shine. The band’s 19-song set plays out the band’s last two decades and shows just how far the emo veterans have come.

Three songs in, the four-piece explain they are ‘pretty f**king jetlagged’ and in true Manchester style, a member of the crowd shouts in response: “Do you want a tequila!?” Because if nothing else, us Manc lot know the cure for everything – booze.

Fall Out Boy Band on the Wall tickets Manchester

The floor bounces underneath your feet as 500 fans jump, dance, and mosh in unison, as Wentz extends a salute accompanied by a grin from ear to ear – after years of selling out huge venues, you can only imagine how great an intimate one of this size must feel.

The band perform with a backdrop of two sides of a smiley face, which they go on to explain represents the two halves of the new album, how it was built, and what it means. The second half of the record is based on the movie Field Of Dreams and the quote ‘If you build it, they will come’, acknowledging their five years of no music. Yet still, their fans are loyal as ever, as demonstrated by the enraptured congregation before them.

“It’s been a minute,” Pete says, “But we wanted to get it right so thank you for being patient, it’s almost here.

“Our band would not be a band at all, we probably wouldn’t be playing together if it weren’t for this city and what happened here for the music scene.” He makes nods to Manchester legends Oasis, The Smiths and Stone Roses and then jokingly says ‘anyway, here’s Wonderwall’. The crowd erupts, because who wouldn’t want to hear a live Fall Out Boy x Oasis mashup?

The end of the show is near but the band aren’t letting us Manchester lot go without us having something to remember as our own. After a quick intro from Pete, ‘Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet’ is played to their fans for the first time since 2009. The atmosphere in the room is unmatched and seriously nostalgic – I can almost feel my arm reaching for the heavy black emo eyeliner buried in my drawer somewhere.

The band end the show with ‘Centuries’ and ‘Saturday’, where Pete Wentz ends his night of crowd interaction by climbing into the arms of fans as we channel our teenage angsty selves, because even though So Much (For) Stardust isn’t a throwback record, this was undeniably a throwback show.

Music fans, strap in because Co-op Live has just confirmed a frankly ridiculous trio of gigs, and all in the space of a few hours as their first year of events only gets tastier.

The brand-new music and entertainment venue, the biggest indoor facility of its kind anywhere in Europe, only opened back in April and has already attracted some ridiculous names but they’re not slowing down with the announcements. Not even one bit.

After barely taking a beat between welcoming the Eagles, Liam Gallagher , Smashing Pumpkins and The Killers just to name a few, Co-op Live has revealed that iconic 80s singer Cyndi Lauper would be coming to the arena early next year.

Then, before even getting the chance to catch our breath, they followed that up by revealing that hip-hop and R’n’B legends Lauryn Hill and The Fugees will be arriving in just a few months, along with rock and pop-punk veterans Sum 41 just a couple of later.

To make things even more special, not only will it be Cyndi Lauper’s farewell tour following a career spanning nearly 50 years but these will also mark Sum 41’s final ever shows after confirming their split ahead of their new album .

And there’s The Fugees – an equally legendary trio in their own right – who they have decided to extend their current ‘Miseducation Anniversary Tour’. It’s music Christmas all come at once.

It feels like we get a whole of new acts announced for Co-op Live pretty much every week but it’s so rare you get a run of gigs dropped on you pretty much in go. The atmosphere in the immensely impressive space hasn’t disappointed even once just yet either.

Don’t think we’ll ever fully get over this… @liamgallagher said he wanted to ‘put @TheCoopLive arena on the map’ — then proceeded to just take the roof off the place instead. 🔥 Night One in Manchester was something else. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/ROBCqCFhUi — The Manc (@TheMancUK) June 16, 2024

The Manc Audio

In the seven years since Troye Sivan’s sexual awakening on 2018’s semi-explicit ‘Bloom’, the Australian has emerged as a sex-positive powerhouse.

He’s been soundtracking queer nightclubs across the globe with the dancefloor-ready earworm ‘Rush’ – the lead single from his third studio album ‘Something To Give Each Other’, itself a further step into self-embrace and expressionism and one that has seen Troye embark on a global tour endlessly spilling out online videos of brilliantly sexy and sultry dance routines and on-stage playfulness.

His Manchester outing at the AO Arena is no different, oozing with sensual choreography that wouldn’t be out of place on the Magic Mike Live stage, yet set to make those with a more reserved outlook blush.

But that’s largely the point here, the third step in a chronological journey that carefully treads from the self-questioning of ‘Heaven’ on his 2015 debut ‘Blue Neighbourhoods’ through to his unapologetic onstage gyrating, a symbol of his self-acceptance.

Anybody uncomfortable in tonight’s crowd is undoubtedly at the wrong show, an open celebration of all-round gayness and its culture.

It’s inherent in everything he says, informing the crowd that he made a b-line direct to Manchester’s iconic Canal Street the night before, and tantalisingly hinting that he may do the same after the show, before immodestly suggesting that this may cause some type of stampede.

Perhaps it’s the reason why the show both starts and ends unusually early, and why at just 17 songs, it’s one of the shorter headline sets an arena is used to.

It’s also telling that Troye doesn’t go further back than ‘Bloom’, with the title track, the anthemic ‘My My My!’ and the Ariana Grande-featuring ‘Dance To This’ just about making the cut.

The song choices are in-keeping with the mood of the evening, more mature and more adult than anything off his debut, or ‘Bloom’s retrospective numbers that failed to make the setlist.

Tonight is evidently an acknowledgement of lust, love and sex; a call to live in the moment and not to look back, and a hedonistic masterclass.

With that, each set piece is brilliantly positioned, the performance split into six acts each broken with Troye running off stage for an outfit change or for structures to be seamlessly assembled or disassembled.

Fan favourite ‘One Of Your Girls’ sees him don a lacey corset as he shares an intimate lap dance with one of his dancers, while the sultry ‘STUD’ glides like silk both in its vocal and on-stage performance.

But the biggest reaction is saved for the Charli XCX featuring (although sadly not on stage) ‘1999’, which rounds out the main set with a party befitting its lyrics, and gay anthem ‘Rush’ – complete with full dance routine and mesmerising light show to bring the decadent thrill ride to a close.

As Pride Month draws to a close, and with Salford’s Pink Picnic acting as the show’s pre-party for many, Troye Sivan delivers easily one of the biggest and most freeing celebrations of queerness Greater Manchester has to offer – via Perth, Australia, of course.

Bat Out of Hell has revealed tour dates and venues for its 2025 outing.

The musical, which is set in a dystopian world where a group of immortal bikers are harassed by a local war lord (only for one biker to fall in love with the war lord’s daughter), includes Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf’s iconic songs from the Bat Out of Hell albums, such as “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth,” “Bat Out of Hell,” “I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” and “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” along with the previously unreleased song “What Part of My Body Hurts the Most.”

Inspired by the arena tour of Australia and New Zealand, the 2025 reimagined show features an eight-piece rock band on stage and multi-level platforms. The cast for the upcoming tour includes Glenn Adamson as Strat, Katie Tonkinson as Raven, and original leading cast members Rob Fowler as Falco and Sharon Sexton as Sloane.

It has direction by Jay Scheib, with musical supervision and additional arrangements by Michael Reed, additional choreography by Xena Gusthart , set and costume design by Jon Bausor , original costume designs by Meentje Nielsen, original wig designs by Linda McKnight, video design by Finn Ross, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen, orchestration by Steve Sidwell, original casting by David Grindrod and casting by Anne Vosser.

The 2025 tour schedule is as follows: Edinburgh Playhouse (6 to 11 January), Portsmouth Kings Theatre (13 to 18 January), Liverpool Empire Theatre (20 to 25 January), Bromley Churchill Theatre (27 January to 1 February), Cardiff New Theatre (3 to 8 February), Birmingham The Alexandra (10 to 22 February), Manchester Palace (25 February to 8 March), Aberdeen His Majesty’s Theatre (10 to 15 March), Peterborough New Theatre (17 to 22 March), Cheltenham Everyman (31 March to 5 April), Glasgow King’s Theatre (7 to 19 April), Leeds Grand Theatre (21 to 26 April), Woking New Victoria Theatre (5 to 10 May), Plymouth Theatre Royal (12 to 17 May), London Peacock Theatre (21 May to 7 June), Leicester Curve (9 to 14 June), Milton Keynes Theatre (16 to 28 June), Wycombe Swan (21 to 26 July), Southend Cliffs Pavilion (4 to 9 August), Sunderland Empire (18 to 23 August), Dartford Orchard Theatre (25 to 30 August), Bristol Hippodrome (1 to 13 September), and Northampton Royal and Derngate (15 to 20 September).

He added: "It's going to be an amazing end to the year. Let's get set to party. I can't wait to see you.”

The four gigs announced today will mark Paul’s first UK shows since his iconic Glastonbury headlining performance in 2022.

He will play Manchester's Co-op Live on Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 15, before heading to London's O2 Arena to play on Wednesday December 18 and Thursday December 19. Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 21.

He is known for his epic live shows, with songs like Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, Let It Be to call on from his solo, Wings and Beatles back catalogues.

Pauls' Glastonbury gigs were hailed as “one of the greatest gigs of all time” by The Times and “a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history” by The i, it was also Paul and his band’s 500th show together.

Paul’s last show in London was in 2018 at The O2 and his last Manchester show was in 2011 at the then MEN Arena. These UK shows will round off the Got Back tour 2024 dates.

Last week Paul, 81, announced his first 2024 live dates and that he’ll be taking his tour to Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru this October, and has also just announced shows in France and Spain.

fall out boy tour manchester

There's been a shakeup ahead of Riot Fest 's return to the Chicago area this fall.

The festival has released its lineup and announced a move. Fall Out Boy , Beck , Slayer and St. Vincent lead the lineup for the Chicago-based music festival, which is set to move from Douglas Park to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.

The event's co-founder, Mike Petryshyn, made the location change announcement in a statement on Tuesday, blaming the park's manager for its "lack of care for the community, you and us," leaving organizers "no choice."

Despite the move, the festival is still planning on bringing its mix of punk rock and hip-hop to Illinois this fall; the three-day festival is set for Sept. 20 to 22, with additional appearances by Public Enemy , Sublime, Rob Zombie, Tierra Whack and more.
