I recently sought assistance in planning a trip to France. Jan (Reston Office) assisted me. She displayed a courteous and reassuring manner, but I was disappointed in her efforts to assist me. Apparently, the office relies on outside "supplers" to plan the trips. None of the suppliers were capable of developing a plan that met my needs, even though I provided a detailed itinerary and did not request any local tours as I intended to rent a car for touring. I just needed assistance in arranging 4 or 5 hotel reservations. They provided incomplete plans that greatly exceeded my budget, even though I was assured that it was feasible. The back and forth extended over a period of several weeks with great difficulty in contacting Jan either via email or phone. This firm apparently relies on outside suppliers to do all the planning with minimal staff intervention. Communications are extremely poor. Try to avoid this company for help in planning a trip, even a very basic one.

Leslee at world travel helped me tremendously organizing a once in a lifetime trip to Italy for 5 couples. It consisted of an 8 day cruise and 5 days on the ground. She was very knowledgeable and responsive to our every needs. All of the tours she recommended were great and she also saved me hundreds of dollars on our business class fare. Will be using them again!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a fantastic vacation to Spain which was arranged by Leslee Geerhart at World Travel Services. We traveled to many beautiful parts of the country and were shown around by friendly, informative tour guides. We were very well taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. I will definitely use Leslee at WTS for any future vacation planning.

One word - Wow! In the days of online booking services and discount travel websites, these fine folks at World Travel Service take all the uncertainty away. They're all knowledgeable - not because they're travel agents with many years of experience - but because they're World travelers themselves and have personal experiences to share. Jan was simply amazing, as she knew first hand the logistical issues, country-specific cultural aspects, and the Do's/Don'ts. Our package arrived on-time, despite our last minute changes, without a hitch. Everything was explained clearly, all the vouchers put together in primary/secondary envelopes, along with a copy to be left behind. Every hotel Jan selected was better than the last and every excursion/tour recommended/booked will be a truly a fond memory for the rest of our lives. Kudos to the whole team. We'll certainly be using their services in the future.

Our History

WorldTravelService® was founded in 1994 by Dennis “Denny” Lewis, a near-50-year veteran of the travel industry. We are a nationwide travel management service specializing in providing travel products and services to the federal government and to the corporate travel market, along with leisure travel and vacation services to the traveling public. Mr. Lewis began his travel career in 1965 at United Airlines where he spent 23 years in various leadership positions. From 1988 to 1990, he served as vice president for field service at Carlson Travel Group. Prior to founding WorldTravelService®, Mr. Lewis held the appointment of senior vice president/general manager at U.S. Travel where he directed 2,200 employees in fifteen operating companies worldwide. Widely recognized within the travel industry, Mr. Lewis has won numerous awards for his contributions and leadership in the Washington, D.C., tourism market and the travel industry at large. He is active in travel industry advocacy, serving on the Airlines Reporting Corporation Task Force, the British/American Business Alliance, and the Dulles Airport Advisory Council. He is a founding member of the Society of Government Travel Professionals and has chaired the Washington Convention and Visitors Corporation.
