I've been in Alaska (anchorage) since the beginning of December and I'm starting to think I should make a bucket list for myself. I'm from South Africa so there's so much that is different already just being in America.

St. Elias Brewing Co in Soldotna is worth a visit for the pizza and brew. Salmon fishing and river rafting on the Kenai river. Golfing in Kenai. Diamond M Ranch outside of Kenai is making a name for itself, and schedules plenty of hiking, camping, clam digging and other Alaska experiences for RV'ers or people staying at the resort.

Gravity-Rides. • 1 yr. ago. Mid May through the first part of July is your best bet for weather (whale watching). Back half of July into or through September tend to be a socked in, rainy mess. Late February and early March seem to be good for clear cold nights which is also good for aurora. Can't do both in one trip.

I'm going to list a few great small towns you can look into: Seward (if you go to Seward you can visit the Kenai Fjords National Park) , Homer, Wasilla, Palmer, Soldotna, Talkeetna. Denali is beautiful but unless you are really into hiking I would only recommend like two days there. Fairbanks is nice.
