Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Announces Black Adam Global Tour

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to make his live-action superhero debut on October 21 in Black Adam.  

The film’s premiere is officially less than a month away and it looks like he and his cast mates will be celebrating in style. Johnson took to Twitter to reveal that Black Adam will be going on a global world tour from October 3rd to October 20th, stopping in Mexico City, New York City, Toronto, Atlanta, Miami, London, Madrid, and Los Angeles. The events will include special guest appearances, giveaways, and an early screening of the eagerly anticipated film.

In Black Adam, after nearly five thousand years of imprisonment, Black Adam, an antihero from the ancient city of Kahndaq, is unleashed into modern times. His brute tactics and way of justice attract the attention of the Justice Society of America, who tries to stop his rampage, teach him how to be a hero more than a villain, and must team up to stop a force more powerful than Adam himself.

Black Adam is directed by Jungle Cruise’s Jaume Collett-Serra, and will also feature Aldis Hodge (The Invisible Man, Underground) as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets, Euphoria) as Cyclone, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I Love Before, Charlie’s Angels) as Atom Smasher, and Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, Mamma Mia!) as Doctor Fate. Uli Latukefu, Marwan Kenzari, Mohammed Amer, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui have been cast in unknown roles.

Warner Bros/New Line/DC’s Black Adam handily crossed $300M global this frame, landing so far at $182.3M from the international box office and $319.7M worldwide.

The movie has seen some strong holds both domestically and overseas in its first weekends, down just 35% offshore this session, but will be cut short when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever starts rollout this week. Nevertheless, the Dwayne Johnson -starrer has amply, and importantly, filled out a lull.

While not exactly blowing doors off, Black Adam has beat critical reception and provided lots of fan chatter and audience fervor. There’s been a lingering question about China being in the potential mix, but much as the market loves The Rock, the film is very unlikely to release there. Japan is still to come on December 2. In IMAX, the total so far is $21M global, including $10.1M from overseas markets.

Elsewhere, and as reported earlier, Paramount’s sleeper slasher Smile grinned past $200M global this session.

Notable also, Sony/Columbia Pictures’  Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile  chomped on $6M this frame for an international cume of $27.2M and a global total of $63.8M .

Searchlight Pictures’ The Banshees of Inisherin from Martin McDonagh is continuing its strong UK trajectory with a mere 23% drop in the third weekend for a cume of $7.2M after 17 days there. 

With $90.5M, Universal/Working Title’s Ticket to Paradise has surpassed the lifetime of  The Lost City  and  House of Gucci  internationally (excluding Russia and China, and at today’s rates). The global cume to date is $137.2M.

The coming week is all about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever .

The Rock Announces Huge ‘Black Adam’ Global Tour

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is giving his one hundred percent to turn “Black Adam” into a success. The upcoming DC flick has been The Great One’s passion project for a long, long time. The Rock just dropped another huge news for fans of “Black Adam.”

The Rock took to Twitter on Tuesday and announced that he’ll be kicking off a “Black Adam” global tour next week. The Box Office heavyweight posted a graphic with names of the cities he and rest of the Black Adam cast will be visiting to promote the film.

The Rock is all for Black Adam promotional blitz as well. The future WWE Hall of Famer is doing a tremendous job of promoting the film and there’s no arguing that. Black Adam arrives in theaters on October 21, 2022.

Black Adam World Tour Announced By Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Through his official Twitter account, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that he would start a world tour to promote his movie, Black Adam . The Rock stars in the highly acclaimed DC film that gives a new introduction to the Justice Society of America and its members Cyclone, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, and Hawkman .

The future WWE Hall of Famer and Hollywood megastar is giving his all to make this movie successful. The actor is ready to make his live-action superhero debut, putting his all into the film. This role will allow Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to enter the DC Extended Universe.

The Rock announced on Tuesday via Twitter, exciting his fans. The statement included a poster indicating the dates and locations where he would promote the film. He also said he would fully support the film. This tour is one of the many promotional strategies planned for Black Adam to be a success and collect millions at the box office. Dwayne Johnson and the rest of the cast that makes up the film will go on tour.

To this end, they have previously released a graphic poster with the names of the cities that will be part of this promotional tour. The Rock has announced that he is strengthening his career as an actor with this new tour. He claims this has been his passion project for over a decade. So, for the actor, the best way to launch it to the world is to tour it. He thanked the fans for their trust and support and said, “Time to deliver. See you soon. Mexico City, you come first.”

The Black Adam world tour is expected to last from October 3 until October 20. The destinations where the protagonist and the cast will arrive will be Mexico City as the first stop, then New York, Toronto, Atlanta, Miami, London, and Madrid. The tour would end in Los Angeles, not ruling out other places they may go.

His Debut as a DC Superhero

The Rock has proven throughout his artistic career to be quite versatile. We have seen him in action movies to comedies. But, this role will be his debut as a superhero. The actor has taken this new facet with quite a bit of humor, which has had him joking all year long with the world about his live-action debut in Black Adam.

That will allow Dwayne Johnson to enter the DC universe for the first time. As he previously stated, this new live-action superhero role has been in the works for quite a few years.

Black Adam will air this October 21, 2022, starring Dwayne “The Rock”  Johnson. It will be directed by Jaume Collet – Serra. In addition, it will have an excellent cast: Pierce Brosnan will play Kent Nelson, known as Doctor Fate . Noah Centineo will play Atom Smasher , Black Adam’s great friend and companion. Finally, Quintessa Swindell will play Cyclone , while Aldis Hodge plays Hawkman.

During the production of this movie and to date, there is still a lot of buzz about Dwayne Johnson’s interpretation of Black Adam. Based on the official trailers released , fans are excited to see what Johnson can bring to the table playing this emblematic character. After five thousand years of imprisonment in the ancient city of Kahndaq, Black Adam is released into the modern era. That generates a conflict with the Justice Society because of the unorthodox and brutal methods with which Adam does justice.

That leads the Justice Society to re-educate Black Adam, teaching him to be more of a hero than a villain. But not only he but his team must fight together to stop a force far more powerful than they are.

Warner Bros. and DC Films' Black Adam has completed six weeks at the box office and is currently in the midst of its seventh and given that the film is well into its theatrical run, its latest returns this weekend are modest. Across the weekend, the Dwayne Johnson starring DC Comics adaptation raked in an estimated $2.7million from 74 markets, thus bringing Black Adam's total international earnings to $219.0m and the global (overseas and domestic) sum to date to $384.0m. Black Adam also opened in Japan this weekend - the last major market that had yet to receive the film.

Black Adam's opening in Japanese theaters this weekend compared favorably to previous Dwayne Johnson starring projects, earning an estimated $1.2 million across 338 screens. This sum made the film the top U.S. title in Japan across the weekend and is +159% ahead of Johnson's disaster epic San Andreas and +88% ahead of Skyscraper . This tally represents a further accolade for Johnson at the box office, with Black Adam proving to be a high point of the actor's career in some regard. Black Adam was Johnson's biggest opening at the domestic box office for him as a leading man and the film has since surpassed the worldwide gross of fellow DC Comics adaptation, Shazam! , which banked a total of $366 million. However, that is where the good news ends for Johnson, as the project that was 15 years in the making has failed to meet the lofty expectations that come with a franchise picture rumored to have a budget north of $150 million.

Black Adam's main box office competitor Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has surpassed the DC film's global gross with domestic box office takings alone in just three weeks; although this is hardly surprising given the momentum behind Marvel Studios' projects compared to DC films, this is still a resounding beating. Furthermore, Black Adam hasn't fared well in comparison to other DC projects, such as the much-maligned Justice League , which despite backlash from fans and critics alike, had an estimated worldwide gross a fraction shy of $658 million.

Like Justice League, Black Adam introduced a team of super-powered characters (in Black Adam's case the super team known as 'The Justice Society') and was hoped to be a pivotal moment for building the DC film franchise in the future. Despite reintroducing Henry Cavill's Superman, it would appear that Black Adam could represent another false dawn for DC films.

Alongside Johnson, the film stars Pierce Brosnan , Noah Centineo , Aldis Hodge , Quintessa Swindell , and Sarah Shahi . It remains to be seen where Black Adam will fit into DC's future plans for cinema releases, with new DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran now tasked with building the future of the franchise. But for now, Black Adam is still in theaters. Check out the trailer below.

Warner Bros. and The Rock inviting fans to ‘exclusive’ Black Adam event in Toronto

The rock says he's excited to come to the 6ix to see his favourite "mother canuckers".

Warner Bros. Canada has announced a “world-exclusive” event in Toronto for Black Adam  that gives more than 900 fans a chance to see the superhero movie early with star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

While initially teased last month , the company has shared a new video message from the actor to his “favourite Mother Canuckers” alongside further details on the event, dubbed ‘Black Adam Rocks Canada.’

Dwayne Johnson brought Black Adam ‘s might to Comic-Con .

Johnson made a grand entrance to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, rising from the stage floor in his full Black Adam costume. As he emerged, lightning bolts appeared on the screen behind him and smoke billowed out on the floor. Audience members had been given lightning bolt lanyards before the panel, and every single one lit up brightly in the darkened hall for a grand display.

The movie star also unveiled the newest trailer for his upcoming superhero adventure as part of the Warner Bros. presentation.

Black Adam may not be as recognizable to comic book newbies, but his biggest rival should be a familiar face due to the 2019 hit film “Shazam!” starring Zachary Levi. Black Adam, similar to the character of Shazam, is bestowed with magical powers from the wizard Shazam. Unlike Shazam, though, Black Adam calls upon the Egyptian gods for his powers (Shazam traditionally calls upon the Greek gods).

The new movie is set to follow the antihero nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the powers of the Egyptian gods. Now freed from his tomb, Black Adam is ready to unleash his form of justice on the modern world.

With Johnson’s title character as well as a host of new additions, “Black Adam” is bringing the Justice Society of America to the DC Universe. The Justice Society, including Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, is a superhero team that predates the Justice League in the DC comics.

The cast members and director Jaume Collet-Serra joined Johnson on stage, where they teased that “Black Adam” will forever change the DC Universe. Fans from the audience also got to ask the panelists questions, including whether Black Adam or Superman would win in a fight.

“It depends on who’s playing Superman,” Johnson answered. Another young fan asked the actor whether Kevin Hart got jealous of him playing a superhero (he did, at least according to Johnson).

“Black Adam” hits theaters on Oct. 21. Warner Bros. has several DC properties on deck in 2022, including the animated “DC League of Super-Pets” on July 29. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is currently slated to continue the Shazam storyline on Dec. 22. The studio’s latest superhero adventure, “The Batman,” starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, became a commercial smash, grossing $770 million globally.

Dwayne johnson’s ‘black adam’ tracking for bullish $70m-$75m opening.

The New Line and Warner Bros. movie, which opens later this month, marks the first time Johnson has starred in a live-action superhero pic.

If tracking is correct, Black Adam should bestow Dwayne Johnson with the biggest box office opening of his career, outside of the main Fast & Furious franchise.

The New Line/Warner Bros. release is pacing to debut anywhere between $70 million to $75 million in its domestic debut over the Oct. 21-23 weekend — if not higher. Sources with access to tracking say the surveys show that Black Adam is similar in strength to Sony’s origin movie Venom , which opened to $80 million in early October 2018.

The movie is the first live-action superhero pic that Johnson has starred in.

Black Adam  reunites Johnson with his Jungle Cruise  director Jaume Collet-Serra, and will feature a team of heroes new to the DC films: the Justice Society of America. That includes Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan). As for Johnson, he plays Black Adam — an antihero imbued with ancient power.

Johnson made a rare appearance at Comic-Con in late July to plug Black Adam , prompting hoots and hollers throughout Hall H.

In more recent days, Johnson personally stopped by SoFi Stadium to introduce a new trailer for Black Adam at the Los Angeles Rams-Buffalo Bills game that kicked off the 2022 NFL regular season. The fresh look at the DC film also aired on NBC’s broadcast of Thursday Night Football .

Black Adam hopes to provide a needed boost of confidence for the box office after a worrisome slowdown in August and September following a summer boom. Superhero films in particular have fared well throughout the pandemic era.

Johnson was last in theaters this summer when voicing the lead role in Warners’ DC League of Super-Pets .

Dwayne Johnson aka “The Rock”, the future WWE Hall of Famer and Hollywood megastar, is completely fervent to convert his upcoming movie “Black Adam” into a success.

The forthcoming DC flick has been The Great One’s passion project for many years according to reports. Presently, another immense news was dropped by Johnson’s for fans of “Black Adam.” On 21st October, Black Adam is set to be released in theaters exclusively.

Covering several trailers of the film and television spots, undoubtedly there has been a lot of hype all over viewing Johnson personifying the titular role.

While posting on Twitter on Tuesday, Johnson declared that he will be combating a “Black Adam” world tour ensuing the next week that is from October 3rd to October 20th, stopping in Mexico City, New York City, Toronto, Atlanta, Miami, London, Madrid, and Los Angeles. The Box Office personage made public a graphic with the names of the cities he and the rest of the Black Adam cast will be visiting for the promotion of the movie.

In Black Adam , following almost five thousand years of imprisonment, Black Adam who is an antihero from the ancient city of Kahndaq, is unbound into modern world. His savage stratagem and method of justice to captivate the attention of the Justice Society of America, who attempts to cease his rampage, teach him how to be a hero more than a villain. Also necessarily work together to pause a compulsion more powerful than Adam himself.

Dwayne Johnson “100% committed” to expand the Black Adam universe and the DC universe

Jungle Cruise’s director Jaume Collett-Serra has directed the movie Black Adam. He will also feature Aldis Hodge ( The Invisible Man, Underground ) as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell ( Trinkets, Euphoria ) as Cyclone, Noah Centineo ( To All the Boys I Love Before, Charlie’s Angels ) as Atom Smasher, and Pierce Brosnan ( GoldenEye, Mamma Mia! ) as Doctor Fate, with Uli Latukefu, Marwan Kenzari, Mohammed Amer, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui have also been cast in present roles which are not known.

During a current Q&A with press, when ComicBook.com asked if he sees himself in this role for years to come, Johnson said,  “I am 100% committed to not only Black Adam but then expanding the Black Adam universe, the DC universe,” said Johnson.

“I am an optimist from the word, ‘Go.’ So, to me and to all of us up here, all universes exist in our heads. I will, we all will, work very hard to make sure we are honoring the mythology but also giving the fans what they want. I hear the fans, we all do, and I pick up everything they’re putting down. It doesn’t get by me, it doesn’t get by these guys [producer Hiram Garcia, producer Beau Flynn, director Jaume Collet-Serra]. This is the beginning, hopefully, fingers crossed, of a very long storytelling road that Black Adam is the anchoring jet fuel now that will then push and press this universe out,” he added. Black Keys cancel entire North American tour, including Little Caesars Arena date

Tour was due to wrap at the detroit arena on nov. 12..

Akron, Ohio, rock duo The Black Keys has canceled its entire upcoming North American tour, including a Nov. 12 date at Little Caesars Arena. No reason was given for the cancellation.

Ticket holders will receive refunds issued to the original method of payment within 14-21 days, according to a post on the event's Ticketmaster page .

The band's 31-date fall tour was to kick off Sept. 17 in Tulsa and make a stop at Grand Rapids' Van Andel Arena on Oct. 13 before wrapping at LCA.

The tour was in support of the band's 12th album, "Ohio Players," which was released in April and debuted at No. 26 on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart.

The Black Keys' last area concert was at Pine Knob in September 2022.
