A camping trip can be a budget camping or luxury camping safari depending on the visitors’ choice. The difference here is; Budget camping trip you can bring your own tent or organize a camping trip package with a tour agency in Uganda that comes with a mobile tent and pitch it up or arrange to sleep in the already tented camps.
Luxury camping safari in Uganda make you experience a Camping trip on Luxury level where you stay in permanent tented camps set in private place with all modern facilities that a lodge can provide such as large tent with en-suite bathroom, flushing toilet, warm shower, dressing mirrors and electricity for light and charging your gargets.
The other difference between the budget and luxury camping is the choice to prepare your own meals while on budget bush camping tour or Stay in Luxury tented camps and have meals from the camp’s restaurant.
Most of the private bush Campsites in Uganda are set in strategic spot such as on river banks or on top of the bushy hills and provide all the basic needs to make one’s stay comfortable for example clean bathrooms with warm showers and toilets. The facilities are usually of low standard like pit latrines and open showers without roofs but private enough. These shared facilities are usually kept so clean and have running water.
Uganda Camping trips makes you enjoy sitting on evening camp fire set in delightful breathtaking surroundings to make you feel warm before you retreat in you private tent.
Visitors on camping trip can prepare their meals from the campsite bandas or order meals from the restaurant if you camp near permanent tented camp at a small fee of $5- $15 a meal.
Mobile Camping in Uganda reduces on the safari cost given the high prices of hotel and lodge rooms. Many lodges and hotels offer camping facilities that comes with better facilities like using the swimming pools though at a higher price than camping in campsites and cheap lodges.
Bush Camping in Uganda allow visitors get so close to nature with animals roaming around your tent at night and sleeping under the bright stars which is an amazing experience. This amazing experience requires visitors to carry some essential items to fully enjoy the experience. Some of these are warm clothes, small tents that can fit in a back pack, insect repellants, toiletries, enough batteries or power banks as the charging ports in camping areas are usually on demand, sleeping bags, head lamp and so many more.
Remember to camp close to lodge or hotel or in a designated campsite than going deep in the forest alone. This may leave you at a risk of being attacked by wild animals. Be careful when leaving the tent at night or when you head out for a game drive safari, trekking and other safari activities to make sure no animals around to enter in your absence. Keep food away from the tent or else you will attract monkeys or baboons and always zip up your tent.
Uganda Camping safaris are so adventurous that you get so close to wild animals and wake up by the sounds of the birds and the wilderness. It might be scary hearing a hippo or lion roaring next to your small mobile tent but it’s a whole great experience altogether. Express your interest to stay in tented accommodation on a Uganda trip , a tour consultant will arrange the best camping experience for your budget and style.

Faqs about camping safaris in uganda.
The best time to visit Uganda for rhino tracking and wildlife viewing is during the dry seasons, which typically occur from December to February and June to September. These periods offer optimal conditions for wildlife encounters.
The boat cruise along the Victoria Nile offers an opportunity to encounter a variety of wildlife, including animals congregating along the riverbanks, as well as numerous crocodiles and hippos. You’ll also witness the majestic Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gap.
Gorilla tracking in Bwindi can be physically demanding, involving hikes of 2 to 6 hours in steep terrain. While it’s accessible to most fitness levels, being reasonably fit and prepared for a challenging trek is advisable.
Visiting the Sempaya hot springs and crater lakes in Semuliki National Park allows you to witness unique geological features and experience the natural wonders of the region. The hot springs are a fascinating sight, and the crater lakes provide stunning scenery and photographic opportunities.
At Lake Bunyonyi, you can enjoy paddling a dugout canoe and swimming in the clear waters, which are free of hippos, crocodiles, and bilharzia. In Lake Mburo National Park, you have options for walking safaris to observe animals and birdwatching. Additionally, horseback safaris and boat trips on the lake are available for further exploration.
