ಒಂದು ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾರಾಜರ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಭೇಟೆಯಾಡುವ ಮೈದಾನವಾಗಿದ್ದಂತಹ ಬಂಡೀಪುರವು, ನಿಸ್ಸಂಶಯವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ತಾಣವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.ಆನೆಗಳು ಅನೇಕ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುತ್ತಾಡುತ್ತವೆ, ಜಿಂಕೆಗಳು ಧೈರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದುರುಗುಟ್ಟಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತವೆ, ನವಿಲುಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಾರಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ನೀಲಗಿರಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಬುಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಂತಹ ಬಂಡೀಪುರವು  ಹುಲಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಸಮಾಗಮವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಿತು.  ಹುಲಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ/ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ   ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ದೇಶದ ಉದ್ದಗಲಕ್ಕೂ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾದಂತಹ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮೀಸಲು ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದ್ದು,  ಮರೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವಂತಹ ಏಷಿಯಾದ ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಆನೆಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯ ಆಶ್ರಯತಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ.ಬಂಡೀಪುರ ಸಫಾರಿ ಲಾಡ್ಜು ಈ ಪರಿಸರೀಯ ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಪರಿಸರ ಸಮತೋಲನವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಬೇಕಿರುತ್ತದೆ ನೀವು ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳ ತಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡದ ಹೊರತು ನಾವು ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಗಮನಹರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಬೇರಾವುದರಿಂದಲೂ ಅರಿಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳಿಂದ ಆದಂತಹ ಅನುಭವವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಗಹನವಾದ ವಿರಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಓರ್ವ ಪರಿಸರೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಂಡಿರಿ.

ಅವುಗಳ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು, ಅರಣ್ಯದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಪುರಾತನ ಗುಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿರುವ   ಆನೆಗಳ ಗಾಂಭೀರ್ಯತೆಯ ನಡೆಗಳು, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆದರಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸವಾಲು ಹಾಕುವಂತೆ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮಿಟುಕಿಸದೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಬೀರುವ ವನವೃಷಭಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ನೀವು ಅದೃಷ್ಟವಂತರಾಗಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವುಗಳ ಬೆಕ್ಕು ಜಾತಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ವೈಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವಂತಹ ಉದ್ದಟತನದೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಒಂದು ಹುಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಚಿರತೆಯು ಒಂದು ಕ್ಷಣ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಾಣುವುದು, ಇವುಗಳು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ  ಕಲಿಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು  ಅನುರಣೀಯ ಪಾಠವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಓರ್ವ ತರಬೇತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತೀ ಸಂಜೆಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಪಕ್ಷಿ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಸಾಂಗತ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯಾತನೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನವಿಲು/ಮಯೂರ, ಹಾರ್ನ್ ಬಿಲ್ಗಳು , ಮರ ಕುಟ್ಟಿಗಗಳು, ಜುಟ್ಟು/ಶಿಖೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಮೊಟಕು/ಗುಂಡಾದ ಹದ್ದುಗಳು, ವ್ಯಾಗ್ ಟೈಲ್ಸ್, ಬ್ಲ್ಯು ಜೇಗಳು, ಪಾರ್ಟಿಡ್ಜ್ ಗಳು, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ಇನ್ನೂರಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಪಕ್ಷಿವರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತ, ಇವುಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಉಜ್ವಲವಾಗಿ ಮಿಶ್ರವರ್ಣದ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಂತಹ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೋ ಅಷ್ಟು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತ ಗಂಟೆಗಳಷ್ಟು ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯಬಹುದು.

Though Bandipur is around-the-year tourist destination, summers are the best time for wildlife sightings. March to May being the dry season, the animals come out of hiding and can be spotted by the watering holes. But for bird-watchers, the winter months are a better bet, for November to January, many migratory birds from the North, especially the Himalayas come down south to roost.

ದರಪಟ್ಟಿಯು ಇಬ್ಬರು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೊಂದಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ  ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ (ಒಂದು ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ 30% ರಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ  (ಎಕ್ಸ್ ಟ್ರಾ) ಪಾವತಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದು, ಅನ್ವಯಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ದರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾ ಶುಲ್ಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ  (ಎಕ್ಸ್ ಟ್ರಾ) ಪಾವತಿಸತಕ್ಕದು.
