"Having hunted with Cheetah Safaris, I chose Sable Safaris for my elephant bow-hunt because I wanted Pieter Bothma to be my PH and back-up. It was that simple. A bow-hunt for elephant was certain to include moments of up-close, split second decision making and I trusted Pieter with the task. Sable Safaris worked at planning the elephant bow-hunt and found a hunting area near Kafue National Park with a CITES permit. We had a good plan, hunted hard, and at the end of a week's hunting, and several exciting stalks, we got close to a good bull for a bow shot. The old bull charged us in a thicket and Pieter did the needful, from 8 yards. Sometimes hunts don't go as planned, that is part of hunting, but the test for the PH is how they handle the situation. CHEETAH SAFARIS recently invested in 10 000 acres of privately owned hunting land. This unspoiled wilderness is tucked away from the eyes of civilization. This new area has been the hunting grounds of famous explorers and indigenous tribes for centuries. CHEETAH SAFARIS has long been home to discerning bow and rifle hunters. Kudu’s averaging 54.5” year after year is only one of our few proud achievements.

The Matlabas River that pulses live through this prime hunting land and brings with it an abundance of fish and wildlife.

We are situated between Thabazimbi and Ellisras (Lephalale), in the malaria free Bushveld, 3 hours from Pretoria. The 4 000 hectares, is home to an abundance of bird life and game like Buffalo, Sable, Red Hartebeest, Giraffe, Kudu, Nyala, Zebra and much more. The warm Africa tradition awaits you upon your arrival in the bushveld.

Cheetah Safari Lodge is situated in the savannah biome with a variety of grasslands and trees (better known as the bushveld), rich in natural beauty and wildlife giving the lodge a character and ambiance all of its own. The diversity of wildlife around the lodge waterhole defines the benchmark for sumptuous bushveld living with the luxury of contemporary infrastructure and modern day facilities.

At Cheetah Safaris, we ONLY hunt on foot. Hunters are also required to hunt with silencers. No hunting is allowed without. Rifles with silencers are available for hire at the farm.

There is a fully equipped communal kitchen, living room with DSTV extending to the open-air boma and sparkling pool. Catering for up to 22 guests at a time, it is perfect for group safaris, corporate getaways and small conferences, ensuring total privacy and exclusive use of all the lodge facilities.

The lodge consist of 6 en-suite air-conditioned rooms each with a coffee station and bar fridge, 5 x rooms = 4 sleeper, 1 x room = two sleeper. Communal kitchen fully equipped with cookware, cutlery, utensils, fridge, freezer, 2 x oven/stove, microwave and ice machine.

-Swimming pool (please bring your own swimming towel, bath towels provided) – Target shooting – Walk / jog route – Braai boma – Game drives with Cheetah Lodge 4×4 vehicle (day / night) – Game / bird watching at waterholes – TV with full DSTV, lounge and dry bar

Normal check-in time is 08h00 – 14:00. Checkout is 12h00. Times may be altered by prior arrangement. All activities (swimming/walking/hunting/fishing/game drives) are done at own risk.

A 50% deposit is required when making reservations, non-refundable with cancellation 2 weeks prior to booking. For weekends we have a minimum booking requirement of 4 paying clients for 3 nights and during the week (business stay over) a minimum of 2 paying clients.

Self-catering lodge, electricity, wood, dstv, pool table, dry bar, swimming pool, WiFi. 11 Bow-hunting hides. Crossbow and rifles available to hire.

Total minimum bill of R36 000.00.

7.5% handling fee for cash. No discount for cash.

R350.00 p/d for usage of cold room after safari. During safari’s – no charge.

R1000.00 breakage deposit payable prior to arrival.

Leopard lodge.

Leopard Lodge is a 5 star facility graded by the South African tourism board. We can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests at a time. The five en-suite bedrooms, large dining and sitting room, and outside breakfast porch are tastefully decorated, all of which have views of the lodge's spectacular gardens. The swimming pool nestled amongst huge rocks is used daily by our guests, sipping a cocktail or just enjoying the clear water. Leopard Lodge overlooks the magnificent Mokolo Lake, this breathtaking view can only be enjoyed by our guests, as we are the only facility that overlooks this lake. Superb meals accompanied by the best South African wines are served. We also offer a daily laundry service.

My husband and I had a lovely stay,Precious and her husband(the stuff) were amazing they were so friendly and helpful they really exceeded our expectations and so was the owner he even cooked some of our meals which were mouthwatering.The food was 10/10.The place was clean,quite,peaceful and very comfortable.Valview Guest Lodge is about 6 minutes drive from Thaba Square shopping centre.I highly recommend it.

PHAKELA PRIVATE LODGE

The food was awesome and nicely prepared and scrumptious. The lady attending to us Tsitsi was more than attentive the chef Jack attention to detail when it comes to food. The cleanliness of the room the serene surroundings and nature around impacable structure of the chalets how the pool area is positioned. It was my partners birthday so he was amazed beyond measure the bathroom ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️, the bed I slept so peacefully it's not funny. The manager who welcomed us and reassured things throughout, breakfast my God delicious ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️The sound of animals at night the birds during the day, the Lions throughout a. Amazing

Lethabong Lodge

Featuring a year-round outdoor pool, Lethabong Lodge in Thabazimbi offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. We stayed in a luxury tent which was indeed luxurious and spacious plus the bonus of having its own splash pool. This is the perfect place to stay with children and others young at heart loving the water park. The kids couldn’t get enough. We also did a great game drive! The shop had all basic items needed, restaurant was great as well. Just mind blowing to find a Waterpark in the middle of the bush.

Motlopi Game Farm

Located in Thabazimbi, 29 km from Ben Alberts Nature Reserve and 29 km from Thabazimbi Golf Course, Motlopi Game Farm provides accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. Enjoy breath-taking views in a Cheetah Lodge

An overnight stay which cannot be experienced anywhere else in the UK.

The two exquisite, one-storey lodges are authentically themed and can sleep up to six guests.

Panoramic views of the cheetahs’ new habitat can be witnessed through the large, floor-to-ceiling windows at the front of the lodge.

In the bedroom, you will find a king-sized bed with twin single bunk beds above, perfect for young adults or children.

There is also a king-sized bed in the open-plan living area.

The Wildlife

Cheetahs are magnificent big cats, built for speed as the world’s fastest land mammal. Their flexible spines and long limbs and tail make graceful running easy for these African cats. They are easily identified from other spotted cats by their distinctive black “tear marks” that connect from the inside corner of each eye to their mouth.

Watch our cheetahs, Asrael and Bappe, as they play and relax in their new home. They arrived at the Park in 2020 from Montpellier Zoo in southern France.

See if you can tell them apart; Asrael is identified by the white tip on his tail and Bappe has a black tip!

• Cheetah Ridge is ideally located halfway between Durban and Johannesburg, this malaria free big 5 game reserve is actually just as close from Johanneberg (if not closer) as if you were going to Madikwe! (just in the opposite direction!).
• Nambiti is not only within easy reach of central Drakensberg and many historic battlefields but also boasts some of the most spectacular landscapes! (We love the fact that we saw a large amount of plains game!)
• The 10 luxury suites are stylish with floor to ceiling windows combining contemporary luxury with the natural beauty! The best is that each overlooks a private watering-hole – Imagine viewing all sorts of wild animals, congregating at a watering hole at close range, from the comfort of your private viewing deck!
• We love the fact that each suite has its own fireplace – the perfect winter safari destination – so cosy to come back and just cuddle! (and not to be forgotten, the summers are cooled down by air-conditioning!)
• For those families, there is a super large, spacious option! A very rare find for those families with more than 2 children!! Above the main building the family suite offers two en-suite bedrooms (one of these rooms has a double and two twin beds) joined by an interleading lounge and the balcony overlooks the beautiful grounds.

Cheetah Ridge Lodge offers an experience which will ignite your inner explorer and satisfy every wildlife enthusiast.

A place with a soul. That’s what conservation visionary Rob le Sueur was searching for when he serendipitously stumbled on the land that now forms the backbone of Nambiti Private Game Reserve.

Set in an untamed, yet malaria-free, African paradise that is accessible from both Johannesburg and Durban. Not satisfied with leaving it at that however, Rob took it one step further – he decided to convert the original, grey-stone manor house on one of the properties into a luxury lodge, where Mother Nature’s bounty could not only be preserved, but enjoyed in comfort in lodgings sympathetic to the surrounding environment, for generations to come.

And so from such modest beginnings, Cheetah Ridge Lodge was born.

Whatever your accommodation preference, wildlife is always within viewing distance – and earshot – at Cheetah Ridge Lodge Imagine viewing hippos, waterbuck and a host of other wild animals, congregating at a watering hole at close range, from the comfort of your private viewing deck.

Or in the early morning, observing the African Fish Eagle, known as ‘the voice of Africa’ for its distinctive ringing cry, makes a ‘kill’ as it swoops down to feed on its primary diet of fish, snatching its prey from the water with its large, clawed talons.

And, when you turn in for the night, enjoying the solitude and splendour of this pristine wilderness, with just the whistling call of the fiery-necked nightjar to lull you to sleep.

Luxury Suites Situated away from the lodge, their 10 king-size luxury suites overlook a private watering-hole, enabling guests to observe a vast array of African wildlife from the privacy of their own personal viewing deck.

Serviced daily, each free-standing suite is equipped with a bath, shower and en-suite toilet, with a pod-hanging chair to take in the unfolding bush scenes before you.

Air-conditioning and ceiling fans for balmy summer evenings, with a Bosca Fireplace and Nespresso coffee machine for chilly nights, complete the picture to ensure a luxurious, yet homely, stay.

Family Suites Consisting of two en-suite bedrooms joined by an interleading private lounge area, as well as a balcony overlooking the beautiful Cheetah Ridge grounds, their family suite is the perfect option for families with children, or small groups who would still like the option of being fully catered for.

All suites are air-conditioned, come with a Nespresso machine and are serviced daily.

Luxury Suite

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

• All rates are based on a per person sharing per night basis unless otherwise stated
• A minimum of a 2 (two) night stay is required for weekend bookings (Friday to Sunday)
• A minimum of a 3 (three) night stay is required for bookings made during Peak Season
• The Family Suite is sold per unit regardless of the number of guests booked on the reservation
• The Family Suite has 2 (two) bedrooms, with en-suite bathrooms joined by a private lounge with a private balcony
• Recommended time of arrival is from 13h00. Rooms are vacated by 11h00
• Gates strictly open at 06h00 and close at 18h00

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT

• Single Supplement of 50% will apply for 1 adult in a suite
• A single supplement will be charged when an adult is sharing with an infant under 3 years

LEVIES &/OR PARK FEES

(all subject to change without prior notice)

• Nambiti Rhino Conservation Levy of R 200 per person per night is payable at the lodge on departure

South African Residents Rates And Specials

Child policy.

• All children are welcome
• We recommend that families with children book the Family Suite
• A maximum of 1 (one) child can be accommodated in the Luxury Suites on a camping stretcher and mattress
• Children 0 – 3 years stay complimentary
• Children 4 – 11 years pays 50% of the adults sharing rate
• Adult sharing rate will apply to the adult should they be sharing with a child (4-11 years) in a Luxury Suite
• Single Supplement will apply if an adult shares with an infant (0-3 years)
• Children 12 (twelve) years and older will be charged at the relevant adult rate
• Children 6 years and over are permitted on games drives
