Inside Tom Cruise’s Shocking Transformation: ‘His Face Is Collapsing and Sagging’

Tom Cruise has been looking noticeably different lately — and sources say he’s desperate for more nip/tucks to shore up his falling face.

“Tom’s had all these surgeries and other beauty rituals that have taken a toll on his looks to the point where his face is collapsing and sagging in weird places,” an insider exclusively tells In Touch .

“People are begging him to stop trying to look younger and telling him to accept it and age gracefully. But that’s not his style!”

The 61-year-old screen superspy’s deflated face was on full display in London during a recent shoot for Mission: Impossible 8 .

“A couple of years ago, he was so puffy that people were comparing him to a chipmunk,” a source says. “But now it’s the opposite — all the extra volume is gone, so his skin is drooping and unfortunately it doesn’t just look like normal aging, it looks really unnatural!”

Sources previously claimed the Top Gun star had undergone multiple procedures — including a 2019 facelift — to preserve his boyish good looks.

“Tom may never admit it, but the truth is written all over his face,” a source adds.

“He’s convinced that with the right procedure he can turn back the clock again. He’s researching the latest rejuvenation techniques and putting a lot of hope on things like stem cells and lasers.”

“But the fear is he could wind up permanently scarred. He always seems to go overboard and ends up looking pillow-faced — he doesn’t look like himself anymore!”

Not only is Tom’s appearance worrying fans, but he is also experiencing problems in his love life. He called it quits with Russian socialite girlfriend Elsina Khayrova after three months of dating in February, and another source exclusively told In Touch that Tom doesn’t make things easy for his love interests .

“ Tom has a list of conditions for his romantic partners . One of them is they can’t have chatty friends or relatives who might go to the media,” the insider shared in April. “They have to be open to joining his faith, marriage is a must, and, apparently, there’s a height issue, so his partner’s heels can’t be too high !”

It seems that Tom’s demands have rubbed many women the wrong way, and some have even deemed him “undatable.”

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that Tom and Elsina, 36, split because they “weren’t gelling and realized they weren’t romantically compatible .”

'Top Gun Maverick': Las 9 fantasmadas (¿O NO?) que nos han contado en la película de Tom Cruise

Analizamos los puntos más sorprendentes del film con un entrenador de pilotos de caza, un ex piloto y un ingeniero aeronáutico. Y las conclusiones a las que llegamos nos sorprenden y mucho.

"¡Ala vete, cohete!". Cuando el señor de al lado salta con esas en el cine, da que pensar que igual se les ha ido de la mano el asunto de las licencias cinematográficas. Y algo así puede sentir un espectador lego en la materia de la aviación cuando se enfrenta a  Top Gun: Maverick , la última película de Tom Cruise , dirigida por Joseph Kosinsk i y que ha batido récord de taquilla en su estreno. De acción trepidante y puro espectáculo, los actores y productores se han cansado de explicar el esfuerzo que se ha realizado para que sea lo más real posible y lo bien documentada que está.

¿Pero entonces son posibles las escenas más extremas -comunmente llamadas fantasmadas - que nos han contado en la película? Las analizamos con el que podría considerarse un 'Maverick del ejército español': el Capitán Juan Bengoechea Vara de Rey, de 30 años, que adiestra a los futuros pilotos de caza y ataque del ejército español en el Ala 23 (Talavera la Real, Badajoz). Además, hemos hablado con un mecánico de cazas e ingeniero aeronáutico y con un instructor de vuelo civil, Comandante Piloto de Transporte de Línea Aérea con más de 12.000 horas de vuelo. Y sus respuestas nos han sorprendido ¡Y MUCHO!

¡Cuidado que hay spoilers a la vista!

1.Sobrevivir a un accidente a Match 10 y luego tomarte un agua en un bar

Una de las primeras escenas de la secuela de Top Gun: ídolos del aire nos muestra a Maverick (Tom Cruise) como superviviente de un accidente aéreo a 10 veces la velocidad del sonido (Mach 10) en el que aunque el avión se ha pulverizado, el piloto ha sobrevivido tras eyectarse . Llega por su propio pie a un bar y se pide un agua.

Pero en esta escena hay varios asuntos que ninguno de los entrevistados ve claros. "Oficialmente nadie ha volado a Match 10 en un avión de ensayos, y por supuesto nadie ha llegado a eyectarse a esa velocidad", explica a SensaCine el capitán Bengoechea Vara de Rey, es decir que no hay precedentes de que esto pueda ser así.

Hay además otros aspectos que nos hacen dudar de la verosimilitud de esa escena, como explica el Ingeniero aeronáutico y mecánico de cazas y aviones de ataque consultado por SensaCine. Hay aviones que pueden alcanzar esa velocidad, como el X43A que lo logró con una tecnología llamada scramjet , pero no iba pilotado. El piloto con un registro oficial más alto fue en el X15 que logró Mach 6.7.

"Pero el problema es que para alcanzar esa velocidad debes subir muy alto, a mayor altura menos rozamiento, y a mayor altura y velocidad hay mayores complejidades técnicas para diseñar una cápsula o sistema de escape", explica el ingeniero.

Como referencia de la velocidad que supone ir a Mach 10, unos 10.000 km/h, explica que los cohetes que lanzan al espacio alcanzan unos 28.000 km/h para entrar en órbita.

Pero en aviones de ensayo como los que muestra la película el máximo alcanzado no llega a Mach 4 . "Los aviones pueden volar a MACH 2.0 si hace falta pero no es lo normal", dice el instructor de vuelo, que aclara que al ejército tampoco le interesa ese objetivo: "El F22 va en 2,2 y todos rondan el Mach 2. Pero es que no hace falta, ni interesa porque implica subir mucho, consumir mucho combustible, lo que elevaría mucho el coste de la misión y para las que deben hacerse habitualmente no es necesario incrementar tanto la velocidad", explica el capitán Bengoechea.

2. Maverick como instructor de vuelo

En uno de los entrenamientos vemos cómo Maverick coloca su avión en una maniobra extrema entre dos de los aviones a los que está entrenando. Sin embargo, en ese contexto, esta maniobra nunca podría ocurrir. "Es una maniobra muy peligrosa y es poco creíble que pueda realizarse en un entrenamiento", sentencia el capitán que acumula 8 años de experiencia y 1.500 horas de vuelo. "Me encanta la película por las escenas visuales que tiene, y porque Maverick es un apasionado de su trabajo y del vuelo, pero su manera de ser o de actuar dista mucho de lo que ocurre en la realidad", explica Bengoechea Vara de Rey.

Para él una de las claves para ser un buen instructor es "ser muy riguroso a la hora de volar el avión" y el protagonista "hace locuras que no haría ni un instructor, ni un piloto de caza porque compromete la seguridad y ese es el pilar en el que basamos nuestras misiones", añade el que podríamos considerar un Maverick español.

"Eso no significa que no corramos riesgos en misión, pero nunca seríamos nosotros los que pudiéramos poner el riesgo por delante por hacer locuras. Pasar entre dos aviones como ocurre en la película no ocurriría bajo ningún concepto. En la OTAN no se entrena, ni se opera así", explica el piloto que ha participado en la misión de la OTAN de vigilancia en el Báltico.

El instructor de vuelo civil y Comandante Piloto de Transporte de Línea Aérea Mitoa Edjang Campos, que cree que es quizás el aspecto con más licencia cinematográfica de toda la película. " Es que los manuales, y en el ejército se siguen a rajatabla, jamás contemplaría una actitud tan irresponsable, aunque por otro lado la película cuenta con un asesoramiento técnico, histórico y documental excelente", concluye.

3. Sobrevivir al impacto de un misil volando en un caza

En otra de las maniobras suicidas de Maverick, éste interpone su avión en la trayectoria de un misil para evitar que impacte en el avión de su compañero, que es además el hijo del piloto que falleció en Top Gun: ídolos del aire , y aunque el misil llega a impactar en su avión, el personaje de Tom Cruise logra sobrevivir.

Sorprendentemente, el capitán del ejército español confirma que es posible. "Ha habido derribos aéreos con misiles, o desde otro avión, o desde un sistema de defensa en tierra, que impactan en aviones y el piloto logra sobrevivir, hay incluso casos documentados en la historia", explica.

Se refiere por ejemplo al caso de Scott O´Grady, cuyo F16 fue derribado en la Guerra de los Balcanes por un misil y logró sobrevivir. Y su historia la relata la película Tras la línea enemiga . "Puede ocurrir que el piloto sobreviva a un impacto, no hay muchas posibilidades de que ocurra, pero puede ser", concluye el instructor.

4. Volar a diario a esa intensidad en un caza con 50 años

Otra de las cosas que sorprende en la película es el buen estado de forma que es Maverick para tener 50 años. Sin embargo, la exigencia física de un vuelo de combate en un caza es enorme. De hecho, la mayoría de instructores a diario suelen ser más jóvenes , el capitán Bengoechea tiene por ejemplo, 30 años ¿Es factible que un piloto de 50 años pueda volar en un caza a diario con ese nivel de exigencia?

La respuesta del instructor vuelve a sorprender. "Hay que tener muy buena condición física porque es un vuelo exigente como el que muestra la peli con esas aceleraciones, con las misiones que emprende… Pero hay pilotos con 50 años que vuelan aviones de caza actualmente  y pueden verse en situaciones similares ", asegura. Lo que le hace dudar un poco más es quizás lo que logra en la misión final en la que se eyecta, coge otro avión… "Tienes que ser un poco superhombre", dice entre risas.

El ingeniero aeronáutico recuerda el caso del astronauta John Glenn, primer americano en entrar en órbita en 1962, que regresó al espacio en 1998 con 77 años junto con Pedro Duque, alcanzando de 3 a 4 g's en el lanzamiento.

Tienes el problema de la aceleración que puede sufrir tu cuerpo, que se mide en G, la fuerza de la gravedad, que se va multiplicando sobre tu cuerpo: por ejemplo en un vuelo muy exigente puedes llegar a sufrir un 9G, es decir multiplicas tu peso por 9 y ese es el efecto. Si pesas 80 kilos, pues serían 720 kilos… Es un esfuerzo físico para el que hay que estar muy entrenado

De hecho existen trajes especiales anti G para ayudar a compensar los efectos de la gravedad.

El capitán añade también el factor mental: " Además de la deshidratación y el impacto corporal de la aceleración, mentalmente son misiones muy complejas con procesamiento y análisis de datos , toma de decisiones, rigor y precisión en las maniobras y no vale cualquiera, requiere preparación y entrenamiento diario, aunque en el factor de toma de decisiones la edad es un factor estratégico, la experiencia suma y mucho", concluye Bengoechea Vara de Rey.

5. Tom Cruise quiso pilotar el F18 con sus propias manos

Uno de los aspectos que han trascendido sobre el cómo se hizo de la película de Paramonut es que Tom Cruise se empeñó en que él quería pilotar el F18. De hecho todas las imágenes de vuelo son reales y se grabaron on board aunque los actores van en la parte de detrás, es el puesto del operador de armas. ¿Pero habría sido posible que Tom Cruise llegará a pilotar un F18 para rodar una película? El capitán Bengoechea, no lo ve muy claro.

"Tom Cruise tiene formación de piloto pero un caza no es un avión normal. Para pilotar un F18 se requiere mínimo 6 años de formación desde que ingresas en la Academia que te dan asignaturas teóricas hasta que acabas tu formación básica de piloto de F18 y para ser alguien como Maverick más de 10 años", apunta

6. ¿Es posible volar sin la máscara de oxígeno en un caza?

En la película es habitual que veamos a los pilotos volar sin máscara de oxígeno . Podría generar dudas ya que los cazas pueden ganar mucha altura en poco tiempo y en ese caso el oxígeno sería imprescindible. El piloto vuelve a sorprender con su respuesta. 

"Es factible pero no es habitual. La máscara cumple dos funciones: suministra oxígeno y lleva incorporado el micrófono que usamos para las comunicaciones. Se puede dejar abierta si la atmósfera de la cabina es respirable y eso es por debajo de 13.000 pies porque por encima la concentración de oxígeno no es suficiente. Pero al estar separada de la boca las comunicaciones se degradarían", explica el instructor de vuelo.

Sin embargo, matiza que en la marina estadounidense están acostumbrados a volar con la máscara abierta. En España, en cambio, lo habitual es llevarla puesta:

"Cuando nos metemos muchas G se reduce la capacidad pulmonar y el suministro de oxígeno se hace muy relevante en esas situaciones: mejores comunicaciones y más oxígeno son menos riesgos. Si vas a entrar en combate, lo normal y lo recomendable es llevarla puesta", señala.

El ingeniero aeronáutico explica que físicamente es factible "quitársela y ponérsela rápidamente " y lo habitual es que las cabinas estén preparadas para respirar sin la máscara de forma similar a un avión de pasajeros.

7. La misión final: vuelan a 900 km/h entre colinas a 100 pies ¿eso es factible?

En la misión final, que parece una  Misión Imposible para el espectador -como si Tom Cruise se hubiera equivocado de película- , tiene también algunos aspectos cuestionables. En el primer tramo de la operación vuelan a 400 nudos, es decir uno a 920 km/h. ¿Es posible volar entre montañas tan a ras del suelo a esa velocidad?

"Es posible. Nosotros si volamos a esas velocidades y a esa altura es porque la misión lo requiere o únicamente, en las zonas autorizadas, el matiz de hacerlo entre montañas y con maniobras tan agresivas requeriría de mucho entrenamiento y mucha precisión" , apunta el capitán Bengoechea. Y añade: "Imposible no es, es factible, pero extremadamente difícil, también".  Pero aún así cree que es la parte más creíble de la misión final. "Hasta que sueltan el armamento y salen de la montaña sería realizable, aunque extremadamente suicida".

8. La misión final: misiles que fallan más que una escopeta de feria

Otro de los aspectos sorprendentes de la misión final es que los misiles antiaéreos fallan más que una escopeta de feria. "Esa es la parte de la misión que menos me creo. Que les disparen tantas veces y fallen tanto... Los sistemas de defensa actuales son muy precisos y no es habitual que fallen. Las probabilidades reales de que ninguno impacte sería extremadamente baja y en el caso de los misiles aire-aire son muy modernos para que fallen todos. Me parece mucha licencia, es casi lo menos verosímil de toda la película junto con el homenaje que le rinden en esa escena a la primera película en la que se eyectan los dos y cogen otro avión el F14… eso es lo más peliculero", señala el capitán.

Aunque quiere dejar claro que a pesar de que las posibilidades de éxito son mínimas, esta misión podría ocurrir en el mundo real de principio a fin , a diferencia de lo que se ve que ocurre en los entrenamientos. "Las misiones reales pueden ser tan arriesgadas como las de la película, pero en los entrenamientos no nos la jugamos tanto", concluye.

9. Los pilotos reales de caza ¿se arriesgarían tanto?

Otro de los aspectos que sorprende son los riesgos que corren y la manera en la que se enfrentan a sus entrenamientos los pilotos. ¿Son así en la vida real? "Hay bastantes licencias en este aspecto, porque quizá se muestran un poco prepotentes. En la vida real los pilotos de caza solemos medir los riesgos más y ser mucho más prudentes. Es cierto que para hacer lo que hacemos tenemos que tener una gran confianza en nuestras capacidades y en nosotros mismos pero esta confianza la han llevado bastante al extremo", cuenta el piloto.

Es también ese el aspecto que más le rechina a Mitoa Obiang de la película:

“En el ejército es inconcebible que alguien se salte los procedimientos de manera sistemática como hacen los pilotos en la película. Los militares son mucho más rigurosos de lo que muestran”, apunta.

Además, el capitán Bengoechea echa en falta que se muestre que en la vida real de los pilotos de caza hay mucho más trabajo en equipo, y menos competitividad. "Es muy bonito defender y confiar en los demás de la misma manera que los demás confían en mí", aunque de la película le ha gustado cómo retratan "el amor por el trabajo que hacen, lo aguerridos que son por ejemplo nos representa y nos gusta", concluye.

Antidepresivos sólo enmascaran los síntomas y no curan: Tom Cruise en polémica entrevista

Tom Cruise, quien ahora ha vuelto a la palestra en los niveles más altos del éxito con Top Gun: Maverick , el remake de su famosa película de 1986, fue hace un par de décadas uno de los actores más polémicos. Cruise famosamente se unió a la Iglesia de la Cienciología , la organización religiosa del escritor de ciencia ficción L. Ron Hubbard, e implementó en su vida una serie de prácticas y reglas bastante peculiares. 

Una de las actitudes que Cruise adoptó fue una posición antifármacos y antipsiquiatría. En el año 2005, en el popular show estadounidense Today , con Matt Lauer, Cruise criticó a su amiga Brooke Shields (con quien luego se disculparía públicamente) por usar antidepresivos, y en general, a la psiquiatría y al Big Pharma. Aunque las acusaciones de Cruise tienen algo de "seudocientífico" y pueden sonar a teorías de la conspiración, han resurgido actualmente en el clima de polarización en torno a las vacunas. Algunos consideran que exhiben su veta más fanática. Pero, curiosamente, lo que podría parecer una visión radical fanática no se descarta tan fácilmente, y por momentos incluso sorprende con lucidez, a la luz de algunas de las prácticas de las farmacéuticas y de información relevante en torno a los tratamientos para la depresión . Ahora bien, quizá  sea necesario tomar lo que dijo Cruise con un grano de sal e investigar un poco más al respecto -y no simplemente aceptar sus palabras porque él aseguró que ha investigado a fondo el tema-. De cualquier manera, es probable que muchos lectores encuentren perceptivas sus palabras. 

Cruise explicó a Lauer que "la psiquiatría es una seudociencia... yo la he estudiado". E hizo referencia a los abusos de fármacos y a la historia de violentas terapias invasivas como los electroshocks , que no han demostrado ser muy efectivas -y tienen muchos efectos secundarios-. El problema que Cruise observó es que estas técnicas farmacológicas tienen fuertes efectos psicoactivos "y sólo enmascaran" los problemas, no resuelven las causas.  

El actor de Mission: Impossible  afirmó en su momento que la idea de un "desequilibrio químico" como causa central de la depresión es un mito . No es que la depresión no exista, aclaró, pero no es un desequilibrio químico y puede tratarse mejor con ejercicio y suplementos. Ciertamente, algunas de las personas que se han beneficiado de los antidepresivos podrán criticar a Cruise, pero muchas otras, cuyas vidas han sido apagadas por los mismos, sentirán empatía con lo que dice el actor.

Al mismo tiempo Cruise denunció la crisis que hay en Estados Unidos por sustancias que los médicos recetan, como Adderall o  Ritalin. El actor cuestionó que estos medicamentos sean recetados sin que haya un examen de sangre o alguna prueba médica de que las personas los necesitan. Cruise ciertamente atinó fue incluso preclaro en esto, pues hoy vemos que ciertos medicamentos, principalmente los opiáceos pero también los ansiolìticos y otros fármacos, causan más muertes que cualquier otra droga y, de hecho, constituyen un problema de salud mental de una dimensión inédita en ese país.   

Aunque descartar de un brochazo a toda la psiquiatría puede ser excesivo, no hay duda de que Cruise subrayó un problema serio que 17 años después es aún más grave.

Tom Cruise has managed to stun global audiences with his incredible stunts and award-winning dramatic chops for years, but it’s his face that consistently shocks people the most. The actor is closer to retirement age than ever, but he’s managed to avoid showing any signs of his age or injuries. A new report promises Cruise’s secret to staying wrinkle-free, so we had to investigate.

Tom Cruise’s 30-Minute Skin-Saving Routine?

“Tom Puts His Face On Ice!” shouts the headline from a recent National Enquirer . According to the magazine, Cruise is more than prepared to celebrate his 60th birthday next year thanks to the secret skincare regimen that’s allowed him to look as youthful as he did three decades ago.

“Tom has been doing everything he can to hang onto his good looks, including an elaborate skincare routine that he practices morning and night,” an inside source reveals. “He starts off by plunging his face into ice water for a full 60 seconds! Then he double cleanses and applies toner, face serum, eye serum, eye cream, face moisturizer, and a neck cream. It takes 30 minutes, so on busy days he gets up at 4:30 a.m. to make sure he has time for it .”

“Besides that, he has all sorts of gadgets, including an LED light face mask. Likewise, it’s basically impossible for someone like Cruise to make it to 59 with a youthful face without an intensive regimen , especially considering how often he ends up filming outdoors in the sun.

And honestly, the routine presented here isn’t exactly objectionable. Rattling off products and steps one after another certainly helps make it sound more real and authoritative. In fact, it doesn’t sound too far off from his equally ageless ex-wife Katie Holmes’ routine — cleansers, creams, clean diet. Of course, as a brand ambassador, Holmes’ go-tos are Olay, and it doesn’t take much to assume that Cruise probably utilizes something less pedestrian.

The problem is that all of this information is, at its very best, baseless speculation. Sure, someone could fight off some aging by following this intensive and icy procedure, but it really is just a basic shell of an actual routine. A genuine leak of his skincare checklist would include product names , frequency, examples — things that we generally only find out when celebrities or their stylists share their routine publicly . Tom Cruise, however, is far more closed off than most stars when it comes to his personal life. Even Men’s Health couldn’t pin down what exactly makes Cruise so ageless . The outlet’s best guess involves, unsurprisingly, consulting medical experts and going from there (and avoiding anything cooked at too high of a temperature, apparently).

Without knowing what specific brand of serum Tom Cruise is using, there’s nothing helpful to glean from this report. Specificity is, unfortunately, the name of the game when it comes to skincare , and the sad truth is that even with Cruise’s exact product recommendations, that doesn’t guarantee you’ll have Tom Cruise’s same reaction to the products. False promises are always frustrating, and we’ve come to expect them from the National Enquirer .

Heck, the tabloid took Shirley MacLaine to task for having both too many and too few wrinkles at 87 earlier this year. Bottom line, the Enquirer won’t have any actually sound advice when it comes to celebrity skincare — unlike us .

Las cámaras del partido mostraron a Tom en las gradas quien disfrutada del encuentro deportivo entre los Dodgers de Los Ángeles contra los Gigantes de San Francisco junto a su hijo Connor Cruise.

En las imágenes que ya se han hecho virales en Twitter se puede apreciar como el rostro de Tom está más hinchado que lo habitual mientras saluda a la afición.

Como era de esperar los mensajes en la red social no han cesado y muchos son los que creen que se ha hecho alguna operación o retoque estético .

"¿Cirugía? ¿Peso? ¿Papel para una película? ¿¿La edad?? Es difícil creer que de repente se vea así de diferente", dice un usuario. Ben Winston might soon lose count of how many times he’s sent Tom Cruise up in the air.

The original plan was for a balaclava-clad stunt person to do most of the heavy lifting, but Cruise would have none of it. “I don’t think there’s anybody like him in the world,” says Winston, who served as creative director and executive producer under the Fulwell 73 Productions banner. “There is no better collaborator.”

Speaking the afternoon after the live Paris jump and the starry beachside concert featuring The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, Winston revealed how he and Cruise kept most of their plan under wraps for as long as they did, what changed in the planning and the unlikely roots of the Olympic flag’s pre-taped journey from France to the U.S.

Are you just a glutton for logistics?

It feels a little bit like having a baby. You’re up all night, it’s all really stressful and you’re changing nappies, and they’re sick on you. Then, when they get to three years old, you’re like, “Oh, they’re so cute and lovely. I think I want another one.” You forget what a nightmare it was. I feel like live television might be that. You forget how much you go through.

Plenty has been revealed and speculated about in the wake of this stunt. How long have you actually been working on this? 

My first meeting was January 2022 when I sat down with Casey Wasserman at LA28. I haven’t been working on it since then, but I had the idea more like 20 months ago when they’d told me there’s this tradition of a 12-minute show that the next nation does in the closing ceremony. Within the first five minutes, I was like, “Well, it would be the coolest thing if we snatched the flag, and we could get Tom Cruise to do it.”

I’ve seen lots of handovers where the country that takes over does something in the stadium, and they’ve been great, but I wanted to do something different. I like to be able to control everything. So I was thinking if we did it in Los Angeles, I’d be able to control all the elements a little bit more. I liked the idea of doing the bulk of it in Los Angeles but with an amazing open in Paris. This is such a weird reference, but remember when Conan O’Brien started on The Tonight Show and moved from New York to Los Angeles? He did a really fun sketch going cross country. That has always stuck with me. So I was like, “How do Tom Cruise and all these incredible athletes take that flag from Paris to L.A.?” It’s a weird inspiration. 

No, I remember that. I can see the through-line.

Yeah. Then, I pitched it to Tom. He was the first pitch I had. If he hadn’t gone with it, I can’t really think who else would work. Who else is synonymous with action and an American hero? When we got Tom, I felt like the whole thing would work — so we went from there. But it’s been over a year and a half to achieve that. 

How’d you pitch it to Tom? This is the third time you’ve put him in a plane after the Late Late Show segments with Corden .

Some things leaked , but you filmed the skydive and the Hollywood sign back in March. How’d you keep it secret for as long as you did? 

When we were filming with Tom , he was never actually holding the Olympic flag. He always was holding a white flag. So, whenever we were photographed with him, the press always said we were filming Mission Impossible . Everyone wonders what was faked and what wasn’t. Interestingly, one of the only things that was faked was the flag. I was disappointed that little things leaked over the last couple of weeks. Suddenly, more and more people need to know what you’re doing when you’re rehearsing in the Stade de France and booking venues.

Such a big deal is made about Tom and the lengths he goes to execute a stunt on his own. I understand who insures him in a movie like Mission Impossible , but what about here, is that your purview? You are putting a very famous man in a risky situation. 

I’m not qualified to answer that. ( Laughs .) There will be a team of lawyers on my production team and his team that would know about that. But you’re right. It was definitely a consideration when we were doing the Top Gun stuff for The Late Late Show . It was like, “Well, who does the liability lie with — the show or Tom?” I still don’t know the answer on this one.

It’s funny because I’ve seen reports about what was live and what wasn’t live. Not everybody’s a 100 percent right on everything, and I don’t want to comment either way. It’s not fair on some artists to say some were live and some weren’t or whatever. But I think there was a lot more live-in there than people think. Will Rogers Beach was the plan a year ago — and, due to something out of my control, that had to change. With four weeks to go, we didn’t have a venue. That was a stressful moment. Ultimately we got there and I was so pleased with the concert element of it.

Did you ever attempt to actually redecorate the Hollywood sign? 

I did look at doing the Hollywood sign for real. We had engineers up there quite a long time, working out how we could do it. I decided against it because I wanted it to be a surprise. In the end, I think we could have done it, but then in March, the whole world would have seen pictures of the Hollywood sign covered in the Olympic rings. So we did it with CGI. The Tom bit is real. He was up there. He climbed up the sign.

You booked Snoop Dogg, a national treasure and someone so synonymous with Los Angeles, a long time ago — yet his stock has risen even more in the last two weeks. Were you psyched watching him become one of the stars of the Olympics? 

Well, I hope you get a bit of a break.

No. ( Laughs .) This week we’re filming Ellen DeGeneres’ stand-up show . Really excited about that. And then it’s on to the Paralympics closing. But I did have like 13 hours of sleep last night. I went to bed at 9 o’clock.

Tom Cruise has a new face, critics argued on social media following the 2024 Paris Olympic Games closing ceremony on Sunday (August 11). The Mission: Impossible star descended from the top of the Stade de France after H.E.R. sang The Star-Spangled Banner . His dramatic sky-diving and motorcycle-riding tricks stunned athletes and fans alike.

After walking through a sea of competitors, Simone Biles and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass handed the 62-year-old, notable for doing his own stunts, the Olympic flag for him to bring back to the US, Fox News reported on Sunday.

The next Summer Olympics will take place in Los Angeles, USA , from Friday, July 14, 2028, to Sunday, July 30, 2028.

In a pre-recorded clip, Tom rode through the French capital city and onto a plane before he made his way to the top of the Hollywood sign in the City of Angels, which was configured to show the Olympic rings, as per Fox News .

And despite astonishing viewers with his performance, a handful of people also noticed that the actor’s face was visibly different, as an X user (formerly known as Twitter) commented: “Did Tom Cruise have work done on his face? 

“At 1st glance, he resembled Don Johnson. Asking for a friend.”

A person wrote: “What in the narcissism is Tom Cruise and his bloated face doing up there? Sir get down before you break a hip.”

“ Tom Cruise appears to have overdone the fillers a bit,” a netizen noted.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours, the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery states .

According to the board, more than 1 million men and women choose this popular facial rejuvenation treatment annually.

The claims follow the 2024 Paris Olympic Games closing ceremony that took place on Sunday (August 11)

A separate individual chimed in: “Tom Cruise has WAY too much Botox.”

The most popular type of injectable fillers are made of hyaluronic acid and tend to be the most temporary option. Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last from 6 to 18 months.

Botulinum toxin injections, such as Botox, relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines, the NHS explains .

Overuse of both Botox and fillers can lead to negative effects. According to Nurse Gemavie, overdosing on Botox can lead to excessive muscle weakness, which can cause problems with facial expression and lead to an unnatural appearance.

Tom has likely undergone a face-lift at some point in his life, combined with fat grafting, according to a consultant plastic surgeon, Kshem Yapa.

Kshem told The Daily Mail on Monday (August 12): “It can be an effective combination, and it’s an operation I frequently do myself, but you have to take care with the amount of fat you put into the face.

“As we age, two things happen — we develop skin laxity, so the face droops and you see deeper nose-to-mouth lines, jowls, and a loose neck. 

“We also lose volume, from around the temples and mid-face, which can lead to a more gaunt appearance.

His dramatic sky-diving and motorcycle-riding tricks stunned athletes and fans alike

“A facelift moves the facial tissue back into their more youthful position, while fat — taken from elsewhere in the body, usually the stomach or flanks, and placed into the face using tiny injections — supplements lost volume.

“But those fat grafts will still behave like stomach fat, even in the face. So we warn patients if they put on weight, they’ll put it on in their face quite visibly. 

“You also have to be judicious in how much you graft into the face, for this reason.”

The expert in facelift surgery agreed there was a “characteristic look” to over-done fat transfer to the face, as he explained: “It’s a puffy, mask-like appearance where the mid-face doesn’t move.”

Other cosmetic surgeons have dubbed the effect a “Howdy Doody face” — referring to an American wooden puppet show character that was the star of a 1960s television show, The Daily Mail reported.

The puppet had exaggerated facial features, and it was once described as the “ugliest puppet imaginable.”

It wasn’t until 2001, after splitting from Nicole Kidman, that Tom got braces to rectify his overbite, proudly showing them off at the premiere of Minority Report , as per the British tabloid.

By 2010, Tom’s face was reportedly beginning to change, occasionally looking chubbier, possibly due to weight fluctuation.

Rumors that the Golden Globe awards winner had undergone a nose job began back in 2012, but when asked by Playboy magazine if he had ever had surgery, he replied: “I haven’t and never would.”

Tom’s appearance at the 2016 BAFTAs had fans commenting on how he looked “inflated” and “puffy,” The Sun reported.

At the Mission Impossible: Fallout premiere in 2018, Tom reportedly looked leaner, with more lines showing on his forehead.

Such “dramatic” fluctuation may have been because “Cruise had a bit too much fat put in,” Kshem told The Daily Mail .

He explained: “We don’t recommend fat grafting is used alone as a filler, without a facelift as you’d have to add so much to achieve an effect there would be a danger patients would be left looking worse.

“The other thing it’s important patients realize is that fat grafts are relatively difficult to undo — other kinds of filler naturally dissolve to some extent over time, but fat is permanent.

Sin embargo, esta inflamación también puede deberse a un exceso de retoques , es decir, que se los haya hecho todos a la vez , una técnica conocida como 'full face'.

Así lo mantiene la doctora Virtudes Ruiz, presidenta de la Asociación Murciana de Medicina Estética, que ha hablado con Vanitatis acerca de este cambio de aspecto. "Se aprecia claramente una inversión de lo que llamamos 'el triángulo de la belleza', ha pasado de tener una cara triangular y muy masculina y atractiva, con el ángulo de la mandíbula y el mentón marcados, a tener una cara cuadrada y feminizada", asegura.

"No tiene arruguitas en el contorno de los ojos porque se ha tratado también con toxina botulínica ", asegura la doctora, que mantiene que el abultamiento del rostro de Cruise se debe a un exceso de inyecciones.

La doctora Nyla Raja, fundadora de las clínicas Medispa en Cheshire y Harley Street, comparte la opinión de Ruiz acerca del exceso de inyecciones. "Parece que Tom se ha excedido con las inyecciones antiarrugas y los rellenos dérmicos, lo que en realidad ha tenido un efecto adverso en su apaariencia", dijo a Femail y recoge Daily Mail.

Alejandre perfected the rest of Jolie’s shimmery eye look with the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad Crème in Rose Topaz , the Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen in Deeper and the Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Blonde . He also used the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Contour Duo in Intensity 1 for her skin.

The mascara has received five-star ratings, with shoppers saying it’s “the best mascara on the market.” One shopper raved that their “lashes are longer, thicker, darker, more curled” after using the mascara.
