Brand New is an American rock band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2000, the band consists of Jesse Lacey (vocals, guitar), Vincent Accardi (guitar, vocals), Garrett Tierney (bass guitar, vocals), and Brian Lane (drums, percussion); they are joined by Benjamin Homola (percussion) and Kevin Devine (guitar, vocals) for their live performances. From 2005 until 2013 the band also included Derrick Sherman (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards). In the late 1990s, Jesse Lacey, Garrett Tierney and Brian Lane were all members of the band The Rookie Lot. They eventually split off from the other members of the group, and in 2000 formed Brand New in Merrick, New York. The band signed to Triple Crown Records and in 2001 released their debut studio album, Your Favorite Weapon. Their second album, Deja Entendu, was released in 2003 and marked a stylistic change for the band, one that garnered an extremely positive critical reception. The album's first two singles, "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" and "Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades", both received airplay on MTV2 and Fuse TV, entering the top 40 on the United Kingdom Singles Chart. Deja Entendu was eventually certified gold in the United States. Brand New moved to Interscope Records and released the critically acclaimed The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me in 2006. "Jesus Christ" became their highest charting single in the US, peaking at number 30 on the Alternative Songs chart. In March 2008, the band started their own record label, named Procrastinate! Music Traitors. Their fourth album, Daisy, was released in 2009 and became their highest charting album in the US, reaching number six on the Billboard 200. The band have been working on new material for some time, releasing new single "Mene" in April 2015 followed by "I Am a Nightmare" a year later in May 2016. Recent T-shirt designs and lyric book inserts hint at the band possibly breaking up in 2018. On August 17, 2017, the band released their fifth album Science Fiction, two days after announcing its release on vinyl, to critical acclaim and commercial success, becoming Brand New's first number-one album on the Billboard 200.

Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker have been killing it since the 1990s with their empowering tracks about feminism, politics, and relationships. And while it’s not quite their 30th anniversary just yet, Sleater Kinney has a lot to celebrate in 2024. Don’t miss your chance to see this talented duo on tour!

Drake — It’s All A Blur - Big As The What? Tour

Champagne Papi himself is hitting the road once again next year, extending his It’s All A Blur tour and visiting dozens more US arenas. While the first leg of this trek featured support from 21 Savage, these newly-announced Drake concerts will feature J. Cole as opening act…giving hip-hop fans the show of a lifetime as they witness the two multiplatinum rappers in action. Drake continues to support tracks off his eighth and latest album, 2023’s For All The Dogs . The Rolling Stones — Hackney Diamonds Tour

“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” right? Well, unless a set of rock legends like The Rolling Stones comes into town, which they are in 2024! Composed of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, it’s not easy to explain the profound impact of The Rolling Stones. Their gritty blend of rock and roll and blues was at the forefront of the British Invasion back in the 1960s, while they’ve continued to record and perform to perfection for over six decades now. The group just released Hackney Diamonds , their 26th album and first new material in 18 years. And they intend to do justice to these new songs, especially as they pay tribute to their late drummer, Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021. Brand New has announced a U.S. tour with support from  Modern Baseball and the Front Bottoms . Below you can find the full itinerary for their tour. Last month, Brand New released a new EP called  3 Demos, Reworked , which followed the release of their   new song , “ I Am a Nightmare .” Modern Baseball released their sophomore album  Holy Ghost this past May.

The intimate big top experience, created by the Vazquez family, is hitting the road again with its brand-new Tour ‘24 production.

FL!P Circus ( www.FlipCircus.com ), has been winning over audiences since debuting in 2022. The intimate big top experience, created by the Vazquez family, is hitting the road again with its brand-new Tour ‘24 production. 

Hailed as one of America's best new family entertainment events, this new show was specially curated to showcase an incredible and eclectic mix of international human performers. The new production launches its year-long national tour at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ (February 16 – March 5) before moving to the Cross Country Center in Yonkers, NY (March 8 – April 2). Formed in London, UK, Brand New Heavies are a pioneering jazz collective who helped create the sound of acid jazz, fusing funk, soul and hip hop production to create their unique sound.

Initially known as Brother International, the band began as an instrumental acid-jazz group in 1985, changing their name to Brand New Heavies after gaining their first record contract. The band were quick to gain a cult following, finding many fans in the burgeoning London club scene. Initially formed of Jan Kincaid (drums/keyboards), Simon Bartholomew (guitars) and Andrew Levy (bass/keyboards), the band soon added a brass section as well as vocalist Jay Ella Ruth.

The band signed with indie label, Acid Jazz, for their self-titled debut album, which garnered widespread critical acclaim upon its release. The band also gained a US distribution deal with Delicious Vinyl, with whom they re-recorded their debut for a US release. Jay Ella Ruth also left the group at this time, with N’dea Davenport brought in instead. Brand New Heavies found hits in the UK with “Dream Come True” and “Stay This Way,” but it was with “Never Stop” that the Heavies broke the US market, becoming the first group to break into the American R&B Chart since Soul II Soul’s success.

After collaborating with Q-Tip and MC Sech, the Brand New Heavies were inspired to incorporate more hip hop influences into their music, evident in their next album, “Heavy Rhyme Experience, Vol. 1.” The album brought in Main Source, Gang Starr, Grand Puba and The Pharcyde to feature on the 1992 recording, which peaked at 38 in the UK and 139 in the US.

Success continued for the Heavies with 1994’s “Brother Sister,” which went Platinum in the UK. Davenport left the group to pursue a solo career, with singer Siedah Garrett taking over vocal responsibilities, with her first feature with the band being on 1997’s “Shelter.”

After two successful greatest hits albums, released on both sides of the atlantic, Davenport decided to reunite with the group, joining them early in 2006. “Get Used To It” arrived a year later, after which they embarked on an extensive tour across the UK and Europe. The band returned to their instrumental roots with 2011’s “Dunk Your Trunk,” before once again uniting with N’Dea Davenport, as well as new vocalist Dawn Joseph, for 2013’s “Forward.” Joseph became the group’s sole vocalist on their 2014 release, “Sweet Freaks,” their first for Earmusic.

Acid jazz and punk outfit The Brand New Heavies are the epitome of eccentric and may be described as a small piece of London history. They soon approach the thirtieth anniversary of the band's formation and within that time they have achieved an awful lot yet as they work mainly underground you probably won't have heard about it unless you are in tune with Ealing's bustling music scene.

They have been consistently releasing albums although only two made any real impact on the UK charts, luckily for fans tonight's setlist is a collation of all their music and not just those albums. There is a great melange of material on offer including 'Midnight at the Oasis' and 'Dream On Dreamer' and a selection of other hits. The show is as eccentric as you would imagine with great costumes and theatrical performances from all four members. Your eyes are not sure where to look during the performance but this is part of the brilliance as it is so absorbing you leave feeling as though you have just entered an alternative world if only for a couple of hours.

I have to say that the Brand New Heavies do not produce my favorite style of music but I gave it a chance when a friend gave me some tickets. The venue that the gig was held in was awesome and I really enjoyed some of the new music I never heard before. I can only say one word from my experience and that it was awesome.

Some of the highlights for me were Jan Kincaid's lead vocals on their track Heaven and Dawn Joseph on their song Sometimes. What I came to learn as well is that this band are performers and they give a great performance for the money paid to buy the ticket. I went home after the gig and went and gave a listen to more of their songs and everything I really enjoyed a lot.

Go check them out because it will be one of the best experiences of your life. I would say if you have never heard of the band give them a listen before buying a ticket because their style of music is not for everyone. If you do end up liking their music go see a show when they come to a town near you because you will not be disappointed one bit.

Fantastic evening! The Heavies were on great form, and they didn't let a faulty guitar stop them.

They played all the classics and got the crowd moving to the grooves. The Clapham Grand was a great venue; good acoustics (thought at points deafening) and nice space for dancing.

My faves were 'Dream On Dreamer/Midnight at the Oasis', 'Sometimes', 'Spend Some Time', 'You Are The Universe' and 'Dream Come True'. The last two were played at the very end, and it was a fitting end to a brilliant gig.

All in all, a solid 9/10!

I have wanted to see the BNH for a while now since I'd seen them touring.

My mate introduced me to their music when we were at college together years ago.

Thoroughly enjoyed the gig, a mix of greatest hits and songs off the new album. They played to the crowd brilliantly and fed off the positive vibe.

I am so glad we went and hope to get the chance to see them again.

Absolutely one of best shows I ever seen in my 35 yrs of concert going. N'Dea Davenport's homecoming to ATL. She killed it! No gimmicks, costume changes or light show, just the band and a stage. Buckhead Theater perfect quaint venue. Must see.

Excellent evening. Fabulous music the band were really engaging and surpassed my expectations. I loved the venue I will definitely look for more acts there. Enjoyed food & drink in the bar downstairs beforehand.

the show was everything I expected. Love seeing the Guys back together again.Been a fan for for 20 years. they sounded just as great as they did 20 years ago. They have not lost a beat. A MUST SEE show.

Wonderful. The band has a contagious charisma. I have not stopped dancing for a minute!

I hope they come many times to Brazil. Wish they had shirts to sell so I can show everyone that I was there!

Taylor Swift now has more than 30 songs to choose from for her concerts, so she’s keeping herself interested – and fans on the edge of their seats – with a few changes to the setlist for her record-breaking Eras Tour .

Friday night saw her take to the stage for her second evening in Paris, where she surprised fans with My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys – from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department – and also a mash up of two songs from her 1989 album, Is It Over Now? and Out of the Woods .

The Daily Mail reports that fans took to social media to lament the disappearance of classic favourites including Tolerate It , Long Live , The Archer and The 1 .

Swift’s Eras tour, which she will take to Sweden and Portugal before heading to the UK in June, is set to become the most profitable tour ever, with projected ticket sales of $1.4billion.

Billboard reports that, two weeks after its release , The Tortured Poets Department has now surpassed more than two million US sales, the 11 th album by Swift to do.

Taylor Swift Kicks Off Her European Eras Tour—With Two New Custom Looks

She’s back! Tonight, Taylor Swift kicked off the European leg of her record-breaking The Eras Tour , performing for a crowd of fans in Paris. Last year, the superstar wore an array of bejeweled fashions on stages across North America. Now, Swift is ready to take on Europe in style—debuting two new customs looks by Atelier Versace for the occasion.

Swift opened the show in a fully-embroidered crystal bodysuit, complete with a bustier boning structure and a degradé of paillettes in various shades of orange. Later on, she also donned a double-breasted blazer embellished with iridescent fuchsia crystals and silver Medusa buttons.

This isn't the first time Swift has worn custom Versace for the Eras Tour (one of the most highest-grossing tours ever ). Designer Donatella Versace has created many looks for the singer over the past year—including other sequined blazers and gem-encrusted bodysuits. Her looks in Paris tonight, then, served as a continuation of the tour's signature blinged-out aesthetic. “Taylor is taking over the world with joy, love, and female power in Versace,” says Donatella Versace of dressing the star. “I love her talent, her hard work, and dedication to her fans. She is a superstar!” She certainly looks the part.

New Edition's Las Vegas residency is still going strong through 2024, though only a few tour dates remain. Luckily, the iconic music group has added additional tour dates and there are a few different ways to buy New Edition tickets.

New Edition began their residency at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas in February, with their stay ultimately being extended through November. After their original six shows, New Edition added two more legs for this year for a total of 10 more concert dates. Performing on their 2024 concert tour are group members Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe, who sing their classic hits like "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "If It Isn't Love."

New Edition 2024 tour schedule

All six members of New Edition are returning for the remainder of the group's Las Vegas residency, which kicks off on July 3. It features seven shows from July 3 to July 13 in Las Vegas, with the third leg picking back up for three additional concert dates in October and November.

The group is also appearing at the Cincinnati Music Festival in July.

How to buy tickets for New Edition's 2024 concert tour

You can buy original tickets for New Edition's 2024 Las Vegas residency concert dates and music festival appearance on Ticketmaster. However, since the residency extension shows went on sale in March 2024, the quantity of remaining original tickets is limited.

Tickets can also be purchased from verified resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats . You may have better luck with the variety of seating options and availability on resale sites compared to the original tickets still left.

It's also important to note that New Edition's shows at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas only permit concertgoers ages 18 and up — so be sure to bring your ID to get into the group's residency performances.

How much are New Edition's tickets?

Given the high demand for the group's remaining Las Vegas residency shows, tickets to see New Edition in 2024 are relatively expensive. Furthermore, ticket prices vary depending on each show's concert date and demand. Resale ticket prices are comparable to or cheaper than original ticket costs.

The cheapest original ticket prices on Ticketmaster begin at $175 for New Edition's Las Vegas shows on October 30 and November 1. The least expensive seats are generally in the left or right mezzanine. However, most other dates with remaining original tickets are a bit more costly, with the cheapest seats coming in at over $200.

Who is opening for New Edition's tour?

David Chipperfield Architects wins Russian theatre competition

David Chipperfield Architects has won the competition for the new auditorium and the reconstruction of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre in Perm, Russia. Known as the Tchaikovsky Theatre, it is the third most important opera house in Russia and is situated in the Komsomolsky Park.

The project will create a new 1,100 seat theatre, rehearsal spaces, and a foyer with restaurant and shop. The refurbishment of the old theatre (1878), which was extended in 1959, is also included.

This architectural project is commissioned by the Perm Region and completion is scheduled for 2014.

Other practices involved in the competition were Avery Associates Architects (UK), Henning Larsen Architects (Denmark), Neutelings Riedijk Architects (Holland), PLP Architecture (UK) and Sergey Skuratov Architects (Russia).

Fire breaks out in perm krai, injuring 6.

A fire reportedly broke out at a gas pipeline near the village of Kuyeda in Perm Krai, Russia, injuring six people, Russian state-controlled media reported on Feb. 8.

Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin said that several houses were on fire in Kueda and six people were reportedly injured.

Local sources say the fire started following an explosion at a gas pipeline, after which three tanks on a freight train caught fire before spreading to three residential buildings.

Russian Telegram channel Mash reported that five people have been hospitalized with burns, and one teenager was treated for smoke inhalation.

The official Telegram channel of Russian Railways stated that information about a freight train fire in the area of Kuyeda "is not true" and "the incident does not relate to the railway infrastructure and does not affect the movement of trains."

Earlier this year, Russian media outlets reported a fire at an oil depot in the town of Tuapse in Russia's southern Krasnodar Krai.

Explosions and fires in several Russian regions were reported on Jan. 21 in a possible coordinated Ukrainian strike. Several days later, a fire broke out at a Novatek gas plant near St. Petersburg after an alleged drone attack, causing the plant to halt operations.

Perm Krai lies around 1,800 kilometers northeast of Ukrainian-held territory and there's no information on Ukrainian involvement in the incident.

At the Met Gala on Monday, a throng of photographers fought to capture Zendaya and Kim Kardashian parading couture gowns down the red (technically, mouthwash-green) carpet.

Not pictured: dollar signs. A lot of them.

This year’s event raised about $26 million for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, according to a spokeswoman. That’s a $4 million increase over last year’s total , and more than double what the event raised a decade ago, in 2014.

The total pummels the philanthropic events thrown to support many of the city’s other cultural institutions. The most recent fall gala for the New York City Ballet raised just short of $4 million , and the American Museum of Natural History’s gala brought in $2.5 million . Even The Met’s other events do not compare: Its Art & Artists Gala raised $4.4 million last year.

“There are very few other events that raise this kind of money,” said Rachel Feinberg, a fund-raising consultant who has worked on galas in New York City including a benefit last year for the Elmhurst Hospital in Queens. “The Met has found this formula that is fantastic for them.”

The event began in 1948 as a benefit for the Costume Institute, the museum’s only curatorial department expected to float its own annual operating budget. Since 1999, Anna Wintour, the global editorial director of Condé Nast and the editor of Vogue, has worked to transform the gala into an immensely profitable commingling of celebrities, sponsors and brands.

Ticket prices for the gala have increased steeply. This year an individual ticket was $75,000 — compared to $50,000 last year and $35,000 in 2022. Tickets to the 2015 gala cost exactly a third of what they do now.

But if your name happens to be Zendaya, you might be in luck: Celebrities do not usually buy their own tickets. Rather, brands like Chloé or Tory Burch purchase entire tables starting at $350,000 and compete to dress the buzziest names. For these brands, the amount of online and media attention heaped on the gala makes it a powerful advertising opportunity.

The gala also raises cash from its sponsors, who this year were Condé Nast, the luxury fashion brand Loewe and the social media giant TikTok, which is facing a potential ban in the United States. Loewe’s designer, Jonathan Anderson, and TikTok’s chief executive, Shou Chew, were honorary chairs of the gala.

TikTok declined to say what it paid to sponsor the event, and past sponsors including Apple and Instagram have been similarly tight-lipped about their contributions. Stephen A. Schwarzman, the chief executive of the Blackstone investment group, is reported to have contributed around $5 million as a sponsor of the 2018 gala.

Around 400 guests in attendance this year included billionaires like Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon; Michael R. Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City; and Mr. Schwarzman.

While plenty of viewers delight in dissecting the fashion choices made by their favorite A-listers, others have bristled at the evening’s opulence.

Outside the museum, pro-Palestinian protesters criticized the event as a distraction from the war in Gaza . The Condé Nast Union, which had been bargaining for wage increases, had said it would disrupt the event if a deal was not struck on the union’s contract. (The company reached a tentative agreement with unionized employees about 12 hours before the gala began.)

And the night before the Met Gala, a D.I.Y. “Debt Gala” was held in Brooklyn to raise money for organizations that relieve medical debt. One of its founders, Molly Gaebe, told a New York Times reporter that the Met was “a fun cultural touchstone to be distracted by” but that it felt “disconnected from the rest of the world.”

Another disparity between the two galas? Unlike the designer gowns commissioned for the Met, guests at the Debt Gala wore bathrobes, feather boas and other items repurposed from their homes and closets.
