Get to Know Carnival Pride

Carnival Pride charms, alright — it's a treat for your eyes, your taste buds... and of course, your fun buds. Invite them all to come enjoy the vacation that this ship is proud to offer. Carnival Pride invites you to dine refined, from the zen-like simplicity of Bonsai Sushi ™ to the art deco ocean liner inspiration of the Normandie Restaurant, to the American-Traditional style of Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. And of course there's real, delectable substance under all that style. But for something a little more casual, loosen your tie... or maybe just throw it away and grab a main course (and fries) from our main man Guy Fieri, at Guy's Burger Joint ™ . The Mexican heat's optional at BlueIguana Cantina ™ , but make your next stop Cherry on Top ™ — our candy-and-more store — where everything's sweet. And to raise a glass to important sacrifices of the past, Heroes Tribute Bar makes remembrance its primary objective. You'll find yourself with room to move at the Beauties Dance Club, and a hard time sitting still at Playlist Productions ™ . All around this cruise ship you'll discover even more ways to stay cool, like an adult-only pool at Serenity, a fun-only midship pool featuring a retractable roof, plus Carnival Pride's splashy onboard waterpark, Carnival WaterWorks ™ . And if all the waterslide action leaves you needing a little extra unwinding, we recommend you dry off and head to the Cloud 9 Spa ™ . Alongside the pool is the big-screen, big-fun Carnival Seaside Theater ™ , while Seuss at Sea ™ is a good time for kids who love a good rhyme too. (Like we do!) Camp Ocean ® , Circle "C" ® and Club O2 ® prove that we've got spots for cool kids of all ages.

Port of Call Port of Call (Arrival, Departure)

carnival cruise in baltimore

Baltimore is a major city in Maryland with a long history as an important seaport. Fort McHenry, birthplace of the U.S. national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” sits at the mouth of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Today, this harbor area offers shops, upscale crab shacks and attractions like the Civil War–era warship the USS Constellation and the National Aquarium, showcasing thousands of marine creatures.

carnival cruise in baltimore

Nanortalik is close to the southwestern tip of Greenland at the mouth of several fjords, south of Qaqortoq. Sites of interest include the colonial quarter of the town amid the surrounding fjord and mountains. Tourists can witness the imposing granite peaks and spires of the Nunaap Isua (Cape Farewell) and Tasermiut Fjord regions, where the scenery is spectacular.

carnival cruise in baltimore

Qaqortoq, sitting at the tip of the peninsula in the south of Greenland, is a clean pleasant harbor town built on the site of Hans Egede's search for the lost colonists. Although only boasting 3500 people, it's considered to be the hub of the south and is worth visiting in summer when the place explodes with wildflowers. The town's pride of possession is the town square fountain - the only one in Greenland - with the names of the town burghers, past and present, in brass letters on the base (although many names have fallen victim to souvenir hunters). Qaqortoq museum is worth a gander - it's one of Greenland's finest - and exhibits artifacts from past and present cultures. Mostly, though, Qaqortoq is used as a base for hiking treks: either one day hikes up 'Peter's Cairn’ or around the edge of the Tasersuaq Lake, or as a departure point for the three- to four-day treks to the neighboring town of Igaliku. The Hvalsey ruins, sitting on a coastal strip just out of Qaqortoq, are the most extensive and best preserved Norse ruins in Greenland. There is a choice of ferry services on most days of the week, and several daily flights to other settlements along the west coast. It's also possible to trek from some of the neighboring towns. Qaqortoq is 450km (279mi) down the coast from Nuuk, although the distance by foot would be much greater given the heavily fringed coastline.

Saint Anthony

carnival cruise in baltimore

Saint Anthony town, north of the entrance to Hare Bay, on the northern peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada, is 306 miles (492 km) northeast of Corner Brook. An old fishing settlement with dry docks, ship-repair yards, and cold-storage plants, it is the home of the International Grenfell Association (a charity organization established in 1912 by Sir Wilfred Grenfell, the medical missionary).

Corner Brook

carnival cruise in baltimore

The City is nestled among the folded and faulted Long Range Mountains, which are a continuation of the Appalachian Mountain belt, stretching up from Georgia in the southern United States. Set at the mouth of the Bay of Islands, the City is 40 km (25 miles) inland from the open waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The landscape of the Corner Brook region is rugged and the scenery is spectacular. The surrounding coastline holds magnificent fjords, jagged headlands, thickly forested areas and many offshore islands. Wildlife, forest and water mingle with the City's borders on all sides and mountains fill the horizon in all directions. The history of the Corner Brook region is long and diverse. For thousands of years, people have lived and worked along the shores of the Bay of Islands and in the Humber River Valley, including two aboriginal groups - the Maritime Archaic Indians and the Beothuk people. Theatre and art are alive in Corner Brook. Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador (TNL), one of the province's only professional theatre companies, maintains its home office in Corner Brook. The Arts and Culture Center sets the stage for visiting productions - ballet companies, comedians, theatrical productions and musical artists all make Corner Brook a stop on their Canadian tours. The visual arts are also thriving in Corner Brook. Painters, photographers and sculptors find inspiration in the landscape and culture of Corner Brook and a number of art galleries display and sell their work. Those interested in visual art can study at Memorial University of Newfoundland's Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, which has offered a Bachelor of Fine Arts program since 1988.

Sydney/Nova Scotia

carnival cruise in baltimore

Sydney is a harbour town on Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia, Canada. By the water, the Big Fiddle is a huge violin statue honouring local music. Wooden 18th-century buildings include the Cossit and Jost houses, now museums with period furniture. St. Patrick’s Church Museum showcases local history in an 1828 church. East, at Glace Bay, the Cape Breton Miners’ Museum explores the area’s coal-mining heritage.

Carnival to enhance Half Moon Cay amid new Celebration Key investment

  • Natario McKenzie
  • August 28, 2024

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — As Carnival Corporation invests in Celebration Key, its new private cruise port destination in Grand Bahama, the company will also expand its existing private destination, Half Moon Cay.

The enhancements will include an expanded beach, upgraded dining and beverage experiences, and a pier to accommodate larger ships. Primarily used by Holland America Line, Half Moon Cay will now welcome Carnival Cruise Line’s Excel-class ships—Mardi Gras, Celebration, and Jubilee—for the first time.

Carnival Cruise Line plans to integrate stops at the refreshed Half Moon Cay into several 2026 and 2027 itineraries from Miami, Port Canaveral, Galveston, and Baltimore, with more itinerary announcements to follow.

From Miami, Carnival Celebration will offer Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, featuring stops at Celebration Key, Nassau, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), Cozumel, Mahogany Bay (Roatan), St. Thomas, and San Juan.

Departing from Port Canaveral, Mardi Gras will sail seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, with new itineraries featuring both Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay, alongside stops at Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Nassau, Cozumel, and Mahogany Bay.

Carnival Jubilee, departing from Galveston, will offer six- and eight-day cruises to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas. The eight-day itineraries call at Nassau, Half Moon Cay, and Celebration Key.

Several cruises on Carnival Dream, also departing from Galveston, will include visits to Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay. The ship will offer six-, seven-, and eight-day cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean and 14-day cruises to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean, with stops in Ocho Rios, Barbados, St. Lucia, and St. Kitts.

From Baltimore, Carnival Pride will sail itineraries featuring stops at Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays, Celebration Key, and Nassau. The ship will also offer cruises to Bermuda with an overnight stay.

First cruise ship leaves Port of Baltimore since Key Bridge collapse

A social media announcement about the port declared, "Baltimore is back."

By NBC Washington Staff • Published May 25, 2024 • Updated on May 25, 2024 at 3:55 pm

For the first time since the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed, cutting off the Port of Baltimore and the Inner Harbor from the rest of the Patapsco River, cruise ships can come and go freely.

Royal Caribbean's "Vision of the Seas" set sail Saturday afternoon for a five-night voyage to Bermuda.

See It: Cargo ship that brought down Key Bridge towed back to port

The Dali, the container ship that crashed into the Key Bridge at the end of March, remained stuck under the bridge wreckage until Monday, when it was finally refloated .

On Monday, May 20, the ship was escorted by tugboats to a marine terminal 2.5 miles away.

The successful mission to transport the Dali away from the wreckage of the bridge represents a major step forward to fully reopen the Port of Baltimore. It’s expected to reopen by the end of the month.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said it was a "beautiful sight" when he didn't see the Dali in the middle of the channel in a press conference Tuesday morning, but he's pushing for the complete rebuilding of the Key Bridge.

“The mission’s not over. The work is not done," Moore said. "I will not be satisfied until I can look over this same sight and see the Francis Scott Key Bridge standing again."
