RV Stereos Buying Guide

rv-stereo-upgrade

Whether it is for an RV stereo replacement or an RV stereo upgrade, you need to make sure that you choose a stereo that best suits your trailer. To help you find the right audio system for your RV, here are some of the factors that you need to consider.

Different types of RV stereos

There are three types of RV stereos: the Lo-fi, Mid-fi, and Hi-fi RV Stereo Systems. If you want to know what makes each type different, read the following descriptions.

  • Lo-fi RV Stereo System

For rig owners who like an inexpensive option, they should pick a Low-fi RV stereo system. The sound produced by this device has already been altered; that’s why it is low quality. This type of stereo is ideal for smaller vehicles and casual listeners.

  • Mid-fi RV Stereo System

Rig owners who have a medium-sized rig or vehicle should pick a Mid-fi RV stereo system. The only difference it has with a Hi-fi stereo is its frequency which is not a big issue. Plus, it is slightly cheaper than a Hi-fi which makes it a good audio system option.

  • Hi-fi RV Stereo System

For rig owners who like high-quality audio, they should pick a Hi-fi RV stereo system. This type of stereo produces nothing but premium sound and music quality, which rig owners will love. Hi-fi RV stereos are usually more expensive than other types because they can amplify sound from any portable device.

Ease of Use

Most rig owners would want an RV stereo that’s easy to use. It should be easily operated by simple operations and have a touchscreen feature. Don’t get a device with a lot of complicated buttons that will only confuse you.

USB and HDMI Input

In buying a stereo for your camper, another feature you should consider is USB and HDMI Input. This feature will help you play music, watch videos, or easily connect your TV to your stereo. Mention TVs for RVs, we have gathered the list of trusted tv mounts for RV to bring you the best experience .

A USB Port can also give you the ability to charge your devices.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Because of the innovations made to the audio system, the most favorite RV stereos can now connect to Bluetooth. It is a convenient feature that you should check with any device that you are considering. If your stereo has a Bluetooth feature, you can play music easily without pressing or clicking anything on your device.

Since this is a product that you will install in your RV, you need to make sure that it can withstand the ruggedness of a rig’s environment. Don’t purchase a device that easily breaks, especially when traveling on rocky paths and bumpy roads.

Navigation System

For all vehicles, having a reliable navigation system is the key. This feature allows you to travel lengths without any worries. If you are vying for a product with a navigation system, it’s important to know beforehand that it will cost more.

Another essential feature that you should consider is the size, not only of the stereo but also your rig. There are two types of stereos in size, single and double din, so this should give you enough options for your RV. Also, consider the mounting kit that comes with the product.

CD and DVD compatibility

Over the past few years, stereos with DVD and CD players are mostly overthrown because of the emergence of those who can connect wirelessly to Bluetooth. However, if you love watching or listening to the classics, this feature is another thing to look out for. Some devices do offer Bluetooth connectivity and CD DVD players at the same time.

For any product that you buy, you should always be wary of its price. You should always be certain that you got your money’s worth. Keep in mind that you should always stick to your budget and ensure that you have everything you may need with the single device you bought.

When buying any electronic device , the product must come with a warranty. It ensures replacement if the device malfunctions or breaks easily without any outside factor. Having a warranty also ensures that you got the product that’s worth it for the price you paid.

For example, I like the Bluetooth features of this smartphone.

I was particularly astonished by how easily any smartphone can be converted into a wireless remote control.

It has eliminated the hassle of having to go to the front of my camper to change a setting.

When using this stereo, users are not need to utilize Bluetooth technology.

It contains an HDMI output, so users may stream music from their TVs to stereo speakers.

As a result, the HDMI-capable variant of this RV entertainment system is unaffected by any connectivity concerns.

Buyers will also like the product’s three-zone audio source configuration.

It’s an important feature of traveling rigs since it allows me to distinguish between what comes through my rig’s speakers and what doesn’t.

If the driver doesn’t want to hear the TV, they may turn it off in their zone and let the rest of the passengers enjoy themselves.

Other significant features include the ability to play DVDs in an RV and charge iPhones through the USB connector.

Both of these features are the icing on the cake for this fantastic entertainment system.

It ends up having all of the characteristics I’m looking for in these gadgets.

The stereo display screen, on the other hand, smears readily.

After someone touches it, it seems to leave a fingerprint.

This imprint stays on the screen for a long time, making it difficult to see the clock or other information.

#2. MAGNADYNE Wall Mount Multimedia Stereo

rv stereos for travel trailers

The MAGNADYNE RV6200 Wall Mount Multimedia Stereo is a bit more stylish than other RV stereos on the market.

With a certain magnetism, this item will mix in well with a camper.

Of all, a gorgeous design isn’t worth much if the performance isn’t up to par.

Thankfully, when it comes to outcomes, this model is spot on.

It consistently meets or exceeds the capabilities of other models.

Its great touch screen display for simple access and control is a good example.

I couldn’t be happier with how simple it was to adjust the settings on my audio.

Other alternatives, particularly older used RV radio models, have a significant difficulty with this.

This stereo comes with an adapter plate and a wiring harness adaptor, which I really like.

These components make the installation procedure easier for even inexperienced users.

It was a near-miracle that I was able to fit the stereo system inside my equipment at all.

It may also be used as a DVD player and a classic radio, which users will like.

After all, it has an FM/AM tuner as well as a DVD slot for amusement.

It will make lengthy travels much more comfortable for everyone on board.

It allows individuals to limit the use of TV or radio speakers to certain regions inside the camper.

As a result, everyone aboard feels less anxious throughout their RVing experiences.

However, the Bluetooth connecting capabilities of this device failed me.

So, if Bluetooth capabilities are the most important feature, this model may not be the greatest option.

However, all of these advantages are accompanied with a significant disadvantage.

As you can see, the pricing of this product is a little more than most others on the market right now.

It’s definitely more than I’d be prepared to pay on a gadget like this.

To be honest, I’m a little disappointed since I really like all this RV radio has to offer.

This option would be at the top of my list if money were not an impediment.

These three speaker zones should allow you to hear the audio from any location.

This includes outdoors, for when you want to listen to music while grilling.

It also helps that this item is covered by a one-year guarantee.

This policy should give some protection in the event of a device failure.

iRV Technology seems to have a history of adhering to this guideline, which isn’t always the case with other businesses.

However, I wish the pricing was a little cheaper, and some users have reported difficulties with the device not correctly ejecting DVDs.

Neither of these concerns is perfect, and neither of them should influence your ultimate selection.

If you intend to watch DVDs, you may want to seek elsewhere.

#5. Furrion DV3300 Two-Zone Independent Wall Mount RV Stereo

rv stereos for travel trailers

The Furrion DV3300 Two-Zone Independent Wall Mount RV Stereo is a two-zone independent wall mount RV stereo that is ready to satisfy all of a rig owner’s demands.

It has a slew of functions that will make your life on the road a lot easier.

For example, this device has an HDMI input on the front side for simple access.

This input may be used to connect devices like DVD players and video gaming consoles.

I also like that this device is intended to withstand vibrations.

This feature gives a level of durability that most other models on the market lack.

In fact, it will shield the gadget from the frequent bumps that occur inside an RV.

You should also find the USB port helpful.

It won’t have any trouble charging your phone rapidly, whether it’s an Apple or Android handset.

As a consequence, it offers some flexibility and may be a feature that everyone aboard utilizes.

The amount of video and music formats that this device can play demonstrates its flexibility.

CDs, DVDs, MP3, WMA, MP4, AVI, AM, and FM are all examples.

To put it another way, you can play nearly any game you can think of in today’s globe.

Another appealing feature is the product’s NFC quick-touch communication.

This feature makes use of Bluetooth to control the audio using the Furrion App on your phone.

It’s a simple and effective approach to guarantee that you always have top-notch sound quality.

Based on customer feedback, this device seems to have excellent sound quality.

Many customers raved about how much better their sound system sounded with this stereo than with their previous versions.

Its installation technique was also often commended in evaluations.

It was impossible to read two articles in a succession without seeing this procedure approved.

Furrion seems to have knocked it out of the park with this fantastic gizmo.

However, several customers were unhappy with the product’s loudness level.

When the product is in operation, it seems to emit a steady buzzing.

This is a deal-breaker for me since I have sensitive hearing and it drives me mad.

#6. BOSS Audio BV6658B RV Stereo

rv stereos for travel trailers

The BOSS Audio BV6658B RV Audio is a good option if you’re seeking for an RV stereo replacement at a reasonable price.

This model has everything a person might desire in an RV audio at a price that will not break the bank.

This camper radio DVD player, for example, performs a lot more than its name indicates.

It not only plays music and movies, but also has other capabilities such as a USB connector.

This feature enables you to upload files from a flash drive and connect it directly into the stereo .

As long as the files are in WMA or MP3 format, the stereo will play them.

The auxiliary input on this device should also appeal to you.

This function will make connecting your phone to the stereo a simple and painless process.

You’ll be able to access all of the music on your phone from there.

All you have to do is connect these devices using the audio input.

Furthermore, the Bluetooth features of this RV radio are nothing to scoff at.

With the press of a button, you’ll be able to accept calls.

You will never have to take your hands off the wheel to make these calls.

As a result, Bluetooth technology will make your travel considerably safer for all parties involved.

You’ll be able to use it to operate applications like Pandora and Spotify wirelessly as well.

Another feature that drew my attention was the product’s two-zone functionality.

This feature, you see, allows you to control what plays in two distinct locations of your RV.

It will enable you to listen to one item via the front speakers and another through the rear speakers.

However, the finest feature of this device has to be its cost.

It’s by far the most affordable choice on our list.

You’d expect that because of its high rank, it wouldn’t have any distinctive traits, but the examples above show that this isn’t the case.

However, several consumers expressed dissatisfaction with the provided remote control in their evaluations, which was disappointing to read.

It’s a little problem, but it might have an impact on your audio experience.

#7. Jensen JWM40 Bluetooth RV Wall Mount Stereo System

rv stereos for travel trailers

Jenson’s JWM40 Bluetooth RV Wall Mount Stereo System will provide hours of entertainment in your RV’s living quarters.

This model comes with everything you’ll need to keep your trips from becoming boring or stale.

Everything begins with the product’s basic AM/FM tuning and presentation.

These capabilities will allow you to listen to those radio stations as well as keep you informed about current happenings such as weather and sports.

With this audio system, however, you are not confined to AM/FM radio stations.

You may also listen to music by utilizing the CD/DVD player or by putting a device into the AUX input.

Both of these choices provide the user additional control over the music that comes out of the stereo.

Of course, when linked with a monitor, you may use this stereo to watch movies as well.

When it comes to entertainment, the possibilities with a gadget like this are almost boundless.

I don’t think you’ll become bored on a lengthy flight anytime soon.

Another point worth highlighting is that many consumers found this product to be rather simple to use and install.

These two elements were often appreciated by buyers in their evaluations.

When they weren’t, it was unusual.

Given the firm that makes it, it’s not surprise that this model seems to be popular.

It’s also worth noting that this device makes use of Bluetooth.

As you may be aware, this function offers a slew of advantages, which we detailed in our past reviews.

Overall, Jensen did an excellent job designing another product that is ideal for RVers.

It even went out of its way to make this device more cheap than the last one we tested.

This one, in fact, would be perfect for my budget!

However, we must admit that some users found the DVD player to be lacking.

The resolution is just 480p, which isn’t that high.

Given the other features and inexpensive price, it’s something I could learn to live with.

#8. Pyle Double DIN PLRVST400 RV Stereo

rv stereos for travel trailers

The Pyle Double DIN PLRVST400 RV Stereo is another another camper radio DVD player that is ready to serve whomever purchases it.

It will ensure that your driving journeys are enjoyable rather than boring.

Wireless Bluetooth is one of these features, allowing you to play video or audio files from your smartphone.

As a consequence, you may use your tablet, smartphone, iPad, or iPhone to stream movies or music wirelessly.

It also has an AM/FM radio, which provides an additional form of entertainment for those who like listening to the news or sports.

This device has a three-zone audio source, allowing you to decide what plays in each of your rig’s three zones.

As a result, you have complete control over your audio system and how the music is distributed throughout your RV.

I really like how clear and legible the information on this product’s digital LCD screen is.

When the information becomes illegible due to glare, you may change the brightness.

Furthermore, the controls on the front panel below the screen are simple to operate and durable.

Don’t forget about the pricing of this item.

It is, in fact, one of the lowest on our whole ranking.

And, considering the qualities we just discussed, you’ll see why I consider this product a steal.

Finally, this device is a high-quality stereo system that is reasonably priced.

What more could a consumer wanting to replace their RV radio possibly want? To be honest, I only saw one issue in the buyer feedback.

Even on the lowest level setting, it seems that some customers found the system to be excessively loud.

This feature might present some issues for customers with riders who want to sleep while traveling from place to place.

#9. iRV Technology iRV66 Wall Mount RV Radio Stereo

rv stereos for travel trailers

The iRV66 Wall Mount RV Radio Stereo from iRV Technology is one of the most fully featured RV DVD stereo systems.

It has three HDMI outputs and three HDMI inputs, so you’ll never be without a place to connect in your computer or gaming system.

This gadget is also quite versatile in terms of the video and audio formats it can play.

It should be able to play MP3, MP4, and JPEG files without difficulty.

This implies that playing music, DVDs, or streaming a slideshow of your best photos should be no trouble.

It also has a normal AM/FM radio, which you can tune using easy-to-use tunings on the front panel.

It makes it much easy to browse radio stations than with other types.

This stereo, like several of our other devices, has Bluetooth capabilities.

For maximum convenience, this element will be handled through an app on your phone.

It’s simply another area where, according to consumer feedback, this model shines.

This device also allows you to manage three speaker zones inside your setup.

The first zone will include 5.1 surround sound and two sub speaker outputs, allowing for high-quality sound to be delivered to the driver’s area.

Stereo sound will be used instead of surround sound in zones 2 and 3.

With this stereo, you’ll be able to manage all of these places and determine where the music is played.

As a consequence, it’s the ideal technology for a vehicle like a recreational vehicle.

However, this product is much more expensive than the majority of the other models on our list.

To be honest, the price of this item would be much too costly for my tastes.

It’s also a pity, since everything about this gadget would meet all of my other requirements.

I’d leap at the opportunity to purchase this top-of-the-line RV radio if money wasn’t a concern.

On the market today, it doesn’t get much better than this model.

#10. Jensen JRV9000R Touchscreen Multimedia Navigation System

rv stereos for travel trailers

The Jensen JRV9000R Touchscreen Multimedia Navigation System, which is one of the most sophisticated alternatives on the market today, is our final product.

It has a 6-inch touchscreen that makes using it as easy as swiping your finger over the screen.

HDMI/MHL input, Sirius XM capability, Bluetooth, and an AM/FM tuner are just a few of the features on this touchscreen.

Each of these should add a little extra excitement to your road trip.

With these capabilities, you should have no trouble keeping yourself entertained on extended road trips throughout the nation.

It includes everything a person might desire in a gadget of this kind, as well as features that most firms don’t even consider.

I particularly like that this device has a front USB port for charging your iPad or iPhone.

It’s a wonderful addition to ensure that you may charge your phone whenever you need it while on the road.

This smartphone also has built-in navigation, which will be useful throughout your trips.

It will make going to your next destination lot simpler and more straightforward.

It will also ensure that you travel the shortest route possible, since it is a top-of-the-line navigation system.

It’s also worth noting that the installation procedure for this product earned a lot of positive feedback from buyers.

People seem to have been astonished by how simple this product was to set up compared to other versions they’ve used in the past.

However, it does have two significant flaws that I discovered throughout my product investigation.

The first was its cost, which is the most expensive of any product on our list.

It doesn’t even come close to fitting within my budget.

The second problem is one of durability, which was mentioned in a few customer reviews as a worry.

It seems that the product has a proclivity towards breaking early than intended.

The good news is that these issues were only mentioned in a few of reviews.

It’s possible that these episodes were one-off occurrences.

Buyer’s Guide for RV Stereo Systems

Everything you need to know about RV stereo systems will be covered in this section.

It will guarantee that any questions that arise in your mind are quickly answered in a clear and defined manner.

To be honest, the following information should be the foundation of your whole quest.

rv stereos for travel trailers

Before You Purchase An Rv Sound System, There Are A Few Things You Should Know.

The greatest RV radio stereo will be determined by a number of variables.

This section will go through each of them to make the procedure as simple as possible.

You should have a good notion of what you’re looking for in an RV stereo after reading this section.

The price will play a significant role in your ultimate selection.

To be honest, it may be the most crucial, since it will have a significant influence on your total satisfaction with your purchase.

This is why putting up a well-thought-out budget is such an important part of your quest.

Everything you want in an RV radio should be included into your budget.

A user who desires a double din system, for example, should ensure that their budget matches the extra costs.

It’s simple things like these that make budgeting so beneficial.

This tool can help you reduce your available selections to a more reasonable level after you’ve set consistent financial ranges.

This advantage will ensure that any tension or dissatisfaction is swiftly dispelled.

It does this by reducing down your alternatives to those that exactly match your personal preferences and requirements.

Over the past several years, Bluetooth technology in RV stereos has grown considerably more prevalent.

You’ll have to determine whether or not this functionality is required in your selected model.

This function is a little more useful than you may expect from an RV radio.

You’ll be able to make calls and do other important tasks without ever taking your hands off the steering wheel.

As a consequence, your focus is never diverted from the road, keeping you safer.

It’s a simple safety measure that will save your RV travels from turning into a disaster.

However, I must warn you that the inclusion of this function will result in a little price increase.

Simple to Use

Any product that is worth your time will have a simple to use interface.

It should allow you to perform what you want with this gadget with a straightforward procedure that demands minimal thinking.

Having a touch screen on your RV audio might help a lot in this process.

Using your RV radio will be a snap with this function.

After all, with just a sweep of your finger, you’ll have total control over the experience.

But, more significantly, you should investigate this element honestly by reading the consumer reviews for each product.

When a product is more difficult than it needs to be, people get irritated.

This problem drives people to vent their frustrations in the form of unfavorable customer reviews.

Take advantage of these resources and put them to work for you.

It’s a simple and efficient method of avoiding becoming one of these individuals.

So please, do yourself a favor and read all of the reviews before deciding how to use each product.

Compatibility with CD

On today’s market, RV stereos with CD and DVD capability are becoming less common.

This decline in popularity is due to the widespread availability of cellphones, Bluetooth, and streaming services.

CDs and DVDs have become somewhat obsolete as a result of technological advancements.

As a result of this problem, RV radio manufacturers have decided to create their devices without these functionalities.

As a consequence, make a note of whether or not each product you’re evaluating has these features.

You may then select whether or not their inclusion is required.

In my case, I’ll always make sure that whatever stereo I buy includes these features.

This step will guarantee that I have a backup strategy in the event that my Bluetooth, smartphone, or streaming services fail.

It’s simply another technique to make sure you never go anywhere without listening to some great music.

Furthermore, since these technologies may be a bit tricky when it comes to communication, CD/DVD compatibility is still helpful with these devices.

You’ll want an RV stereo that will endure for a long time.

These items aren’t inexpensive and may make a significant impact in your money account.

With this knowledge, you must ensure that each product can withstand the test of time.

Before making a final selection, this process entails verifying their durability.

Reading customer reviews is a simple approach to do this work.

These materials should provide you a thorough understanding of how each product operates and how it stands up over time.

If you utilize these reviews, you’ll have a lower risk of having to repeat the procedure in a few months.

I’m sure you’d prefer to prevent this happening again as much as I would.

Nobody enjoys having to spend money on a replacement product before it’s time.

The size of your new RV radio will be a big consideration.

To put it another way, you’ll have to decide if a single or double din is best for you.

You’ll need to consider what kind of mounting kit you’ll need for your circumstance.

This decision is usually made simple since RV stereo manufacturers specify if their device is single or double din in the product description.

If you’re going to install the new stereo yourself, I’d recommend purchasing one that fits exactly where your previous one did.

Basically, anybody looking to replace a single din should consider purchasing a new single din model.

This move will save you from needing to create more space for a bigger double din.

It makes the installation procedure a lot easier.

Of course, you could always pay for a professional installation instead of handling these duties yourself.

When upgrading an outdated single din stereo, these professionals would have no trouble finding additional place for a double din unit.

In the end, it’s a matter of personal preference and the kind of labor you’re prepared to undertake.

For example, I’m seeking for a model that is easy to install.

Instead of upgrading to the huge double din versions, I’d prefer replace a single din with another single din.

Additional characteristics

You should also consider what kind of added features your RV radio should have.

Do you need a USB control, a touch screen, HDMI ports, speech recognition, or phone call capabilities, for example?

You’ll need to consider these options before making a final selection.

Some individuals may consider these additional features to be unneeded, while others may have a different opinion.

It’ll all come down to what you believe is worth a price increase for the goods.

Why Do You Need A Radio System For Your RV?

The basic solution to this issue is to alleviate boredom on those lengthy journeys.

However, there are a few more advantages to these high-end RV stereo systems that are worth investigating.

We’ll go through these benefits in detail to illustrate why improving your position can be a good idea.

A Larger Library Of Music Sources

To offer entertainment in your RV, older sound systems would have to depend on AM/FM.

However, top-tier stereos no longer have to depend on one single source for music.

These versions, on the other hand, can play a variety of formats, including AAC, WMA, and MP3.

Even material from Apple IOS and Android smartphones can be played on certain current sound systems.

Many will also have satellite radio and internet streaming services like Spotify.

As a consequence, you’ll never have to drive without listening to your favorite music again.

Doesn’t that seem like a fantastic deal? All you have to do now is locate the ideal updated audio system and begin enjoying advantages such as this one.

Allows You To Personalize Your Entertainment.

If you’re anything like me, the concept of riding with a single playlist isn’t ideal.

When I’m driving in my RV, I like to shuffle through different playlists.

This feature is provided by top-tier RV audio systems, which give you a feeling of control over your entertainment.

What are their methods for doing this? It’s only a question of these systems having capabilities like voice or remote controls, parametric equalization, and a plethora of additional sound choices.

All of these capabilities will enable you to tailor the use of your audio system to your own tastes.

Options for Color Schemes

Many folks think it vital to get an RV audio that matches their RV’s interior color scheme.

This action gives your rig a sense of cohesiveness and prevents anything from seeming out of place.

You could even come across a model with a touchscreen that lets you adjust the color of the backdrop.

This one-of-a-kind feature will guarantee that your brand-new audio blends seamlessly into the inside of your vehicle.

Improved Audio Quality.

An updated stereo will provide higher sound quality than the one already installed in your system.

You should spend some money on a model that can provide nice, clear, and distortion-free sound without any problems.

This more modern stereo system may give excellent sound quality without requiring you to purchase new speakers.

To put it another way, your old model might be the main problem with your RV sound system right now.

Provides a Greater Level of Convenience

Purchasing an RV radio with wireless capability allows you to utilize your smartphone to its maximum potential.

This functionality ensures that a truck driver may use Bluetooth for hands-free calls, text, or manage the stereo’s level using voice commands, and even glance at the phone’s screen without ever taking their hands off the wheel.

In the end, traveling in a big vehicle such as an RV is just more convenient and safer.

Based on advantages like these, purchasing an updated radio should be one of a rig owner’s top priority.

What Are The Many Kinds Of RV Stereos?

In their quest for an RV stereo, a person will come across two typical types: double-DIN RV stereos and single-DIN RV stereos.

In this part, we’ll go through each to make sure you know which one is ideal for you.

Stereos for RVs with Two Dins

The first thing to realize is that a double-DIN RV radio and a single-DIN unit have very little in common.

The main difference is that double din alternatives are larger than single din options.

Double dins, on the other hand, are the same size as stacking two single dins on top of each other.

It causes them to take up a little more room and might pose problems if an RV owner isn’t prepared to cope with their increased size.

It’s also worth noting that double din units offer a few benefits over single din variants.

Because of their bigger size, these solutions might provide additional functionality.

For example, this feature enables double dins to include amazing features like as touch displays.

This feature makes using the gadget considerably easier and more user-friendly.

Other distinctive characteristics include HD displays, enhanced networking, a significant quantity of storage, and DVD players with a handy digital display, to name a few.

Don’t be shocked if you see double din models with a variety of smart features.

These versions are generally simple to interface with their smartphone, making it simple to use the system.

In other words, it makes it much simpler to use these models.

However, double din stereos are more expensive than single din stereos.

The introduction of these elements is the clear cause of this problem.

It’s one of the few issues that might prohibit you from going with a double din model.

To be honest, this form of stereo is an excellent choice for those that like and stay up with technology.

This is why it’s not unusual to see contemporary RVs with double din stereos right out of the box.

RV Stereos with a Single-DIN Input

As previously stated, a single din model will be around half the size of its bigger equivalents.

This characteristic allows them to take up less room on the dashboard of your RV, which may be a desirable feature for certain RV owners.

These devices will also be much less expensive than typical double din units.

This advantage stems from their lack of distinguishing characteristics.

However, if you want something basic or have an RV with a single din system, these products may still provide excellent performance.

In truth, the difference in sound quality between top single din and double din models is non-existent.

It’s just a matter of determining if you favor more complex features over more dashboard space and a lower price.

This is a topic we’ll go over in further depth in our “How to Choose the Right One” section.

We’ll make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed selection about the stereo system type.

How Can I Take Off The Radio In My Rv?

The procedures for uninstalling an RV radio may vary based on the type and brand of your previous stereo.

Because of this, discussing the removal procedure in general is difficult.

I’d recommend consulting your RV’s owner handbook, since it should have advice on how to proceed.

If it doesn’t, you may always hire an expert and pay them to do the task.

There’s nothing wrong with investing a little more cash to guarantee that a project is completed properly and without problems.

To be honest, it’s the approach I’d choose instead of attempting to remove my old stereo myself.

It seems to be too much trouble, and I’m not the best at performing electrical work.

However, if you do decide to take on this endeavor, checking YouTube for step-by-step instructions might be a useful resource.

Some of these tutorials are really thorough and extremely beneficial for things like this.

How Do I Set It Up And Utilize It?

The challenge of installing and utilizing an RV stereo is the same as the problem of removing one of these devices.

Each model has a distinct personality that sets it apart from its peers.

Because of this, creating a clear instruction on how to use or install them is difficult.

These two chores, on the other hand, should not be anything you are hesitant to do on your own.

I’d recommend reading the user reviews for each product to confirm that previous consumers found these chores to be simple and straightforward.

What is the greatest stereo system for an RV?

An RV sound system is the piece of gear that will keep you entertained on those long drives.

These systems will let you to listen to music while driving those tedious and dull roads that await you on your next journey.

Given this information, it’s easy to see how important these gadgets are to an RVer.

With its capacity to provide a thumping soundtrack to your journey, it can make those highway miles fly by.

In fact, a high-quality RV entertainment system is just as important as everything else aboard your vehicle.

I couldn’t imagine traveling in my rig without a nice sound system blasting my favorite songs.

It’s the only way to keep those long hours behind the wheel from becoming monotonous.

After all, a decent audio system can allow your music to do what it does best: make us smile by transporting us back to happy memories.

It gives those lonely hours spent alone in the dark a new lease on life.

It’s also a good method to avoid falling asleep behind the wheel.

Of course, driving while you’re not feeling entirely aware is never a smart idea.

However, some decent music might keep your eyelids from drooping.

It’s also worth noting that these stereo systems come in a variety of designs and sizes.

When it comes to choosing an RV sound system, the sky’s the limit.

These gadgets vary from simple vehicle stereos to high-definition surround sound systems.

With so many choices on the market today, you should have no trouble selecting the finest RV sound system that meets your needs properly.

And in the parts that follow, we’ll do our best to make sure you understand what you want in an RV sound system.

So, let’s get started and discover the ideal solution to guarantee that your RV excursions are never dull.

With a high-quality RV entertainment system at your disposal, you’ll never have to worry about entertaining yourself or your passengers again.

What is the mechanism behind it?

The fundamentals of an RV radio system aren’t difficult to grasp.

It all comes down to a rig owner’s requirement for a device to play music, such as an RV stereo or headphone.

You’ll also need speakers to play the music that the radio is playing.

If you have a low-cost or basic system, the design will consist of a normal stereo into which you insert a music-playing device such as a CD, phone, tape, tablet, or other similar device.

It’s as easy as generating a playlist on your phone or getting some CDs and playing them on the radio.

However, if you want to play high-quality audio, you’ll need to consider a few other factors:

Investing in a better receiver is the first step in bettering any sound system.

These receivers almost always have a touch screen display.

This display will make it simple for the user to operate all aspects of the audio system.

With a simple flick of your finger, you’ll be able to change these settings.

This feature makes it much simpler to keep your other hands on the wheel where they belong.

I recommend purchasing a receiver with sophisticated capabilities such as smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, a guarantee, and built-in equalization.

For anybody who has further questions regarding these features, we’ll go over them in more detail in following parts.

I’d also suggest that your new receiver has at least six outputs.

This will guarantee that you have enough electricity to power subwoofers and speakers, which will also need to be installed.

You’ll find some devices that can play DVDs and CDs, but these functions have been less popular in recent years.

People nowadays are more inclined to watch movies and series on their mobile devices, as you may know.

Amplifiers will strive to generate sufficient current to power your boosted subwoofers and speakers.

This step will aid in the creation of the improved audio quality that a person would want when purchasing an updated stereo system.

You see, if you don’t have a good amp to go with your new receiver and speakers, the sound quality will suffer.

Consider what would happen if you plugged a top-of-the-line electric guitar into a modest speaker with limited volume and control options.

In this situation, the electric guitar will be unable to produce high-quality sound.

It would just be a waste of such a lovely instrument.

The same thing would happen if you had a wonderful sound system with amazing speakers and a cheap, low-quality amp.

It’s also worth noting that amplifiers differ in terms of output and size.

You’ll need to make sure your subwoofers and speakers are the same size and number as these dimensions.

There’s no need to be concerned if this procedure seems to be perplexing.

It isn’t too difficult since most amps have approximately the same capacity, so picking the proper one shouldn’t be difficult.

The final thing to consider is the speakers in your audio system.

I’m betting that most of you have dealt with similar gadgets in the past.

Speakers, as you surely know, come in a variety of sizes and designs.

To be honest, it doesn’t matter whatever speakers a person chooses as long as the receiver and amplifier are of high quality.

A standard vehicle, such as a passenger automobile, usually includes four to six speakers.

RVs, on the other hand, are significantly bigger vehicles, so they would presumably have more.

When you consider that a rig owner may install speakers all throughout an RV, this number quickly doubles.

The location of these electrical gadgets is primarily a matter of personal choice, but you must set some up ahead of time for whomever is driving.

In your RV’s dining/living space, I’d also consider installing multiple speakers.

People seated in certain places will be able to hear the audio without difficulty as a result of this move.

It’s also a good idea to have a set of speakers in the bedroom of your rig.

Of course, you’ll want to make sure that these bedroom speakers can be switched on and off swiftly.

Decent audio quality is fantastic and all, but on a rig, getting a good night’s sleep is much more vital.

This installation may be completed by a professional or by you.

If you’re a first-time RVer, I recommend spending a little more for the professional installation.

Although putting these speakers together isn’t difficult, you are still working with potentially hazardous equipment.

Most people think it’s also a good idea to put outside weatherproof speakers on the outside of their RV.

When you’re hanging out with visitors outside your rig, this addition will provide you with convenient access to enjoyable music.

Once everything is connected and ready to go, press play and listen to your favorite tunes wherever your tips land.

When you have a terrific audio system aboard your RV, there’s no stopping the partying.

I suppose this system would be fantastic for barbecues and other such gatherings; just don’t make your neighbors too envious.

What’s the best way to connect my RV to my stereo?

Each form of stereo model has its own set of steps.

Many alternatives will make the procedure quite straightforward, especially for novices who have access to thorough instruction manuals.

When dealing with an RV Blu Ray stereo or a three-camera input option, the procedure gets a bit more involved.

How can I get sound from my TV to play over the speakers in my RV?

RV owners might tackle this chore in a variety of ways.

I’d start by checking to see whether your audio has an AUX input.

If it does, you may use this input to direct the sound from your TV to your stereo’s speaker.

Depending on your radio and RV, there are a few different ways to set up this AUX connection.

As a result, having your camper’s handbook and radio instructions is critical.

These resources may be able to guide you through the procedure, or you may need the assistance of a professional.

If you don’t have an AUX input on your audio, try for a headphone connector on your television.

You may use this jack to connect an FM transmitter and tune it to the desired station.

It should then play the sound from your TV via it without any problems.

Is it possible to install a vehicle audio in my RV?

RVers have the option of installing a car radio in their vehicles.

Many rig owners do, in fact, replace their stock audio with a blinged-out, fully loaded vehicle or RV stereo.

Some people even spend a lot of money on things like an RV audio with Blu-ray capability.

In any event, the procedure of upgrading your RV radio may vary depending on your unique vehicle.

For those with prior expertise, though, it should not be too tough.

The replacement of the board area is a regular process reconfiguration.

RV stereos are, after all, considerably larger than vehicle stereos, which might present problems.

It will leave a lot of empty space on this board area, which you don’t want.

What are the most reputable RV radio manufacturers?

Each of the brands included in our product reviews has a long history of producing and selling RV radio systems.

In other words, these are the businesses to keep an eye out for throughout your search.

However, I’d like to highlight two of them that have emerged as industry leaders: Jenson and iRV Technology.

Both of these businesses have earned the trust of RV owners by delivering excellent audio equipment for their vehicles.

This distinction distinguishes them from the other firms mentioned in our product review section.

I figured that learning more about their backgrounds would help me understand what makes them unique.

This information will prove to be a valuable asset throughout your search by demonstrating what a top-tier RV stereo brand should provide to its clients.

Jenson has been making radios and speakers that fulfill the demands of its customers for over 80 years.

This capacity stems from their ongoing quest for new methods to enhance the design and manufacture of their products.

In fact, this company takes pleasure in being able to provide a degree of creativity that no other company can equal.

It also doesn’t hurt that their customer service is always regarded favorably by those who purchase their goods.

iRV (Intelligent RV) Technology This company’s popularity among RV owners stems from its ability to provide a wide range of helpful items.

RV radio systems are one of these things, and its equipment are always top-of-the-line.

The ability of iRV Technology to succeed in these diverse areas stems from their unwavering commitment to meeting their clients’ every need and want.

One of the best examples of this is their guarantee of a proper installation for each of their items.

As you can expect, a philosophy like this has helped them become a favorite brand among the majority of their consumers.

When I purchase an iRV Technology product, it makes me feel very secure.

What kind of guarantee do you have?

The warranty on an RV radio system, like many other things, varies from model to model.

There is no industry standard that each brand must adhere to.

You’ll discover warranties ranging from two to five years, as well as lifetime guarantees.

It will ultimately be determined by the brand and model of the goods you choose.

You could even come across a pair that don’t come with any kind of guarantee.

I’d recommend avoiding these alternatives since it’s always a good idea to have some insurance in case of an accident.

It’s also worth noting that some businesses use their warranties as a selling factor.

Why is this perspective unfavorable? Some firms, on the other hand, will promote a protection policy without ever intending to respect it when the gadget breaks down.

Read customer reviews for each product to see if you can avoid firms like these.

This activity will provide you a better understanding of how the organization operates and handles these difficulties.

Remember, it’s preferable to spend a lot of time researching than it is to acquire a defective gadget.

Where can I get something?

Amazon is the obvious answer to this question.

Everyone recognizes that their website now controls the consumer world.

This is due to their ability to consistently provide the lowest pricing and the widest range of possible vendors.

The fact that Amazon has such a large customer review database also helps.

These materials will be crucial in helping you make a final selection on an RV stereo system.

However, just because there are so many benefits doesn’t mean you shouldn’t seek elsewhere.

For example, before making a decision, I’d recommend having a close look at sites like etrailer or Camping World.

Both of these websites will have a huge number of camper radio systems to choose from, as well as affordable costs for each item.

Most of the time, these prices will not be cheaper than Amazon’s, but you never know when a bargain may occur.

This rationale should be sufficient to persuade you to seek outside Amazon’s website throughout your search.

It’s a simple and efficient approach to guarantee that a client doesn’t overspend on their RV sound system.

But what if you’re not a fan of internet shopping or don’t trust it? Look at your local Wal-Mart, Home Depot, RV supply shop, or Lowe’s for ideas.

These retailers should offer a large assortment of items to pick from that will fulfill a rig owner’s demands.

Of course, there is one significant disadvantage to purchasing at these locations: the costs will be far more than those found on the internet.

It’s the nature of today’s consumer market, but online vendors have yet to figure out how to match in-person customer care.

When the employee understands a lot about the things you’re purchasing, this factor may make a big impact.

It’s usually a good idea to discuss your selection with someone who knows a bit about the subject.

With all of the new information from this post, finding the finest RV stereo should be a simple.

All you have to do now is use it throughout your search, and the best option will become obvious.

You’ll then be able to take advantage of all a top-tier option has to offer rig owners.

As you may be aware, these advantages include improved music sound quality and a more natural use method.

It will make your RVing experience much more comfortable and entertaining by providing a means to keep oneself entertained on those long drives.

It’s only a question of using the information in this post to help you choose the ideal RV radio.

So, kindly, follow the steps given above and you’ll never have to worry about how you’ll get through a 14-hour journey again.

Please let us know if you have any other questions in the comments area.

We’d be delighted to assist you with anything you want.

That is, after all, why we wrote this post in the first place!

Essentially, an RV stereo is a sound system that is designed from the ground up for use inside recreational vehicles. Like residential stereos, stereos for RV consists of three basic components: receiver, amplifiers and speakers.

Receiver : Carrying inputs for audio sources and controls of the system, the receiver is practically the heart of a stereo. Modern receivers for RV stereos regularly include intuitive touchscreen displays so people could monitor the operations of stereos and apply changes in times of need.  In addition to that, some units come with Bluetooth integration which allows them to pair with devices via wireless connections.

Amplifier : As it is, the signal coming from audio sources is not exactly powerful and that is why an amplifier is going to be necessary. By boosting the strength of the signal, the amplifier increases the sound quality of audio that the speaker lets out.

Speaker : Responsible for broadcasting audio, the speaker is what brings sounds to the ears of RVers and determines their enjoyment. Most RV stereo systems of today could connect to a number of speakers at the same time with relative ease.

The operation principle of a camper stereo is simple: People hook up the receiver of the stereo with audio sources. After that, the stereo amplifier would boost the signal that originates from the audio sources. Lastly, the speaker receives the signal boosted by the amplifier and proceeds to produce sound.

Entertainment: With the best RV stereo around, you could play music, listen to podcasts and so on at any time. Thus, you don’t have to worry about getting bored out of your mind as you head toward your destination.

Information : Quite a few stereos for recreational vehicles possess the ability to scant and lock on to signals from the surrounding AM/FM radio stations. That means it’s possible for you to listen to the news via your stereo and stay up-to-date.

Charging : To connect to the audio sources on electronics, the receiver of stereos for campers tends to have USB ports. Using USB ports of the receiver, you would be able to recharge devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and others like them in a pinch.

The market consists of various models but a standard RV stereo usually belongs to one of three types: Hi-Fi, Mid-Fi and Lo-Fi.

  • Hi-Fi Stereos : Dependable and reliable, Hi-Fi stereos should deliver the best sound quality that RVing enthusiasts could expect. Constructed using high-quality components, models of the type guarantee pure and clear audios in a multitude of environments.
  • Mid-Fi Stereos: Capable of providing audios with a decent quality of sound, Mid-Fi stereo would give a good account of themselves in use. Additionally, models of the type reach the market at reasonable prices so they meet an assortment of shopping budgets.
  • Lo-Fi Stereos : Though the sound quality of their audios is not exactly impressive by all accounts, Lo-Fi stereos remain solid choices for casual listening. Aside from that, as models of the type often feature fantastic affordability, they prove popular among cash-strapped RVers.

iRV Technology iRV34 AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3/MP4 /USB/SD/HDMI/Digital2.1/Surround Sound/Bluetooth 3 Zones...

Why It’s An Editor’s Choice:

You seek a RV wall-mount stereo that would hold together as time passes by? If that is the case, it’s strongly recommended that you check out iRV iRV34. Being a wall-mount model, it could be used as a direct replacement for an assortment of wall-mount RV stereos without causing dimension issues. Moreover, there is no need to resort to harnesses to install this stereo on recreational vehicles and that is a big plus by all accounts.

Similar to its contemporaries on the market, iRV34 features Bluetooth functionally so hooking it up to audio sources in external devices is child’s play. You only need to download the control app from the app store to your devices and set up wireless connections. This stereo contains plenty of built-in control buttons too and it’s possible to use them to optimize the sound quality to your liking. Last but not least, slim and sleek, it occupies negligible amounts of space inside rigs.

For affordability, the iRV34 stereo is one of the most budget-friendly 12V RV entertainment systems available for purchase nowadays. If your shopping budget is kind of tight, it’s the best RV stereo you can get your hands on.

This review is based on my initial use and impressions and I will update the review if I find any negative aspects to this product. Like many other RV owners, mine came with a Genesis GT-2.0, which in my opinion is really a terrible product. I was never able to get the GT 2.0 to read a DVD and the video output was composite, not HDMI. So, I finally gave up on the GT-2.0 and found the iRV34 as a replacement. It is advertised as a direct replacement and that is absolutely the case. I literally took it out of the box, pulled all the wires from the old GT-2.0 and plugged them into the iRV34 and turned it on for an installation time of way less than 5 minutes. It worked immediately using the existing composite cables. I then used an HDMI cable to hook up to one of the two ports on the irV34 to the HDMI port on the television and immediately had a working unit so I discarded the composite cables. The unit has two output and two input HDMI ports on the back and an HDMI input port on the face of the unit so you can hook up players into any of them. I didn’t have enough time to try everything on the unit but everything worked. Bluetooth with my phone, DVD player, and radio all worked fine but I didn’t have an SD card or USB drive to try them or to have the television sound route through the iRV34 to the RV speakers. Based on what I have seen so far, I readily endorse this product. The Amazon price is about a third less than I would have paid at the RV online dealer where I found other reviews which gave me the confidence to buy this unit. Shared by Jim from New Mexico

Bluetooth connection is simple and quick every time, good sound and I like that I can hook my TV directly to if you surround sound in the trailer. Shared by Amazon Customer

This is a fantastic upgrade for my travel trailer. The old am/fm/cd had no inputs, no frills, and was quite boring. I decided to upgrade and install this unit. I have two TVs in the trailer and no longer need an HDMI splitter. This feeds both simultaneously and provides the flexibility of having the audio come through the trailers built-in speakers or the TV itself. The bluetooth feature works great while camping for music and the extra inputs provide the flexibility for movies from blu-ray, computer, etc. I highly recommend this, it has been a huge success in my trailer. Reaching the market at a budget price, the stereo from iRV could easily squeeze into the spending plan of RVers. It’s worth pointing out that this stereo comes with everything so the users don’t have to get hardware.

I have a 2005 Coach House RV that originally came with a similar product with a VCR in it. When that original one went bad about 3 years ago, I did not find this or a similar product that fit the shelf it set on. So, I got a more upright style and installed it behind the TV. Not ideal but I made it work. When the surface on the new one turned into a black sticky mess, that got on my hands whenever I touched it, I ripped it out and went on a hunt for something else. I found this. It fit the hole perfectly from a size perspective. However, the original one was a shelf system and this one requires mounting, so I made some mounting brackets. The wire color on this follows industry standards, so removing the old connectors and installing the connectors for this was not a problem. The only caution is for power you MUST connect both the power and AUX power for it to work (it is 12 volt power only). It has good sound, the radio, DVD player etc all work well…. Shared by

RVers have plenty of opinions about what could be called the best RV stereo but to make a wise investment, you must remember these criteria.

 DIMENSIONS

Different rigs possess different layouts which is why you need to give dimensions some thoughts while shopping for RV stereos. The last thing you want to do is to spend money on a model that your recreational vehicle cannot accommodate. Prior to making up your mind, it’s strongly recommended that you think about where you plan to set up the stereo and its size. By doing so, you should be able to remove unsuitable models from your shortlist and save a bit of time.

Like with any electronics, you have to avoid treating the stereo of your RV roughly in the course of operation. That being said, since RVing involves a lot of shocks and bumps as people move between camping locations, integrity proves to be an important consideration. To see whether a model would last over time, it’s imperative that you take a close look at its design, material and so on. In the case that you come across signs that indicate potential compromises, move on to other stereos on your list.

COMPATIBITY

To ensure that your stereo is capable of playing sounds from audio sources you choose, it’s widely advised that you keep compatibility in mind. If you prefer to play your favorite songs from DVDs on the road, a RV DVD stereo combo is going to be your best bet. If you wish to pair your stereo with your phone and stream music on it then you must stick with models that incorporate Bluetooth functionality. Take your audio sources into account and then decide accordingly.

As you assess models on the market, remember that you pick up a stereo for entertainment, not to get headaches. Therefore, you have to focus on the controls of stereos before committing to a purchase. With a confusing control interface, even a model that happens to pack top-of-the-line performance would be of little value to its users. Usually, you could learn about the controls of a stereo by reading its owner’s manual but to be thorough, you should check out reviews.

Nowadays, countless brands produce stereo systems for recreational vehicles but in terms of popularity, some stand out from the rest

Recognized as one the leading brands of sound equipment, Jensen is the top choice for a wide range of RVers once it comes to stereos. Also, as Jensen models come to the market at multiple price points, people have several options no matter the wallet.

Thanks to the experience in creating appliances for recreational vehicles, iRV knows what people experience in the outdoors and produces its models to suit that. In the case that you desire a purpose-design stereo for your rig, you have to keep an eye out for stereos made by iRV.

By investing heavily in applications of innovations, BOSS could put together solid stereos that work like a charm for years. Unsurprisingly, those that travel frequently and have few opportunities to replace stereos often hold models of BOSS in high esteem.

With a user-oriented approach, Pyle as well as its stereos receive numerous compliments from RVing enthusiasts that prioritize convenience. Models from Pyle last a long time in use too so after people pick them up, it should be a while before they require replacement.

FAQs About RV Stereos

Well, today’s stereos for recreational vehicles regularly feature self-contained construction so they don’t need much regarding maintenance. To keep your stereo in good condition, all you have to do is to clean it from time to time.

Constructed for static households, residential stereos lack the strength to deal with vibrations in RVing. That means if you decide to set up a stereo for residential use on your vehicle, it won’t be long before it breaks apart.

The power consumption of stereos is low so keeping them running for an extended period of time is a breeze. Still, it’s worth pointing out that stereos consume more power as the volume increases.

I installed iRV stereo over the weekend. It only took about an hour or so, and that included modifying the mounting hole in the cabinet. It comes with both RCA and/or HDMI connections on the back. Bluetooth also works fine. I have tried all the functions and all works well.

How to Choose the Best Stereos For RV?

Choosing your best RV stereo system, wall mount RV radio stereo system or an RV stereo replacement can be frustrating for everyone, even for seasoned RV owners. You might look for different features you would want like an equally high power output, HDMI inputs, surround sound, and so much more.

This could be overwhelming for some RV users and that is why We’ve put together a list of qualities you should consider when stereo shopping.

Sound Quality

When buying the best RV stereos, choose the one that features the best audio quality. Invest your money in a product that allows you to indulge in a clean, distortion-free sound.

Several advanced RV stereos offer top-tier audio, too, without the need to buy expensive speakers.

Multiple Music Sources

In the past RV stereo, the systems relied on AM/FM radio to entertain the rig owners. There are top-tier RV stereos capable of playing music from several different modern-day sources because of input and output options.

You can play audio from other formats, including WMA, MP3, and AAC. Some systems can also utilize content from Apple or Android devices.

Moreover, some RV stereo models offer access to online satellite radio or streaming services. Lastly, there are endless RV stereo options for buyers.

Connectivity

With the new models of the best RV stereos in the market, you need to consider whether you want an RV stereo with connectivity options like Bluetooth USB ports and AUX cable.

These connectivity options allow you to access different audio playlists, whether your smartphone, iPad, iPhone, or any other device.

With the latest technology, you can also use apps such as Spotify and others. Enjoy the convenience of using the RV stereos. You can also take your calls immediately while using the RV stereo with Bluetooth technology, making your RVing experience safe.

With USB ports, you can quickly charge your devices without draining the battery of your rig. Plus, you can play your favorite files from the flash drive.

CD Compatibility

With the latest RV stereos advancements, most of the products come with the latest technologies like Bluetooth, streaming services, USB ports, several inputs and outputs, and much more.

The RV stereos with DVD and CD compatibility are not so much famous because the buyers use them less. People now believe in Bluetooth technology, USB ports, AUX ports, and other input, output features rather than the old CD/DVD compatibility.

However, if you want an RV stereo with such features, you need to choose one.

Amplifier Compatibility

The amplifier is an essential product that helps in upgrading the audio quality of subwoofers and speakers. The same happens with the RV stereo system, where once you add the amplifiers, they enhance the audio quality.

Amplifiers are available in different sizes with variable outputs, so choose the compatible with your RV stereo system.

If you are planning to install the RV stereo yourself, then choose the model that exactly fits well in your past model location. Mounting an RV stereo is also an essential factor that you need to consider, whether it’s a wall mount or roof mount and much more.

This is one of the major decisions when you are planning to invest in the best RV stereos. Choose the system based on double or single din. Moreover, you need to choose the type of mounting too. This is an easy decision to use as RV stereo manufacturers usually add a description to their product.

If you had a single din model in the past, replace it with the single din model. In this way, you don’t need to make extra room for double din. The installation process is also simple in this way.

You can also opt for a professional expert to invest in a dual din model rather than the single din model.

Extra Features

Lastly, choose the best RV stereos with extra features like USB control, easy-to-use touch screen, and voice recognition, allowing access through Alexa or Google voice assistant. Plus, choose the model that comes with HDMI inputs and phone call support.

These features and Considerations allow you to invest in the best RV stereos.

When searching for a good RV radio or stereo to buy in the wide range of products in the market, the cost and the features you require will be a deciding factor for the extent of your budget.

If you would like a stereo with the ability to use FM CD DVD MP3 or CD DVD MP3 MP4, a great sound production quality or Bluetooth connectivity the price will be relatively higher than one without it. The cost will help your narrow down what you’re looking for to more suitable stereo choices.

Easy to Use

A good Stereo should have a good LCD screen with adequate lighting for its user to be able to use it optimally. It should also have good a clear and understandable panel, easy-to-read labels on its panel and should be easy to tune.

Again, reading customer reviews will help in this field.

An RV radio replacement can be taxing for a lot of RV users. So what can I do to avoid changing my stereo systems every few months?

You should look for models with highly durable characteristics like heavy-duty constructions and low rust resistance. This will save you a trip to the store, and a whole lot of money at the same time.

Video Outputs

Choosing models that can have video outputs can help to make your long RV rides or trips more enjoyable. Most top-tier stereos will have an output for HDMI videos and video game consoles.

They can be very effective, can make trips easier, and help to pass away time while on the road.

Built-in Navigation System

I think one of the amazing features of a stereo to have is a built-in navigation system. They’re great to have a cause they can help with traffic, locations, and directions.

Each brand listed in our reviews is the trusted brand on which you can rely easily. They are famous for selling the best RV stereos. It all depends on you which one suits you well. To mention the most trusted RV stereo brand, there are two most famous ones, which include IRV technology and Jensen.

Jensen is a brand that has been making speakers, radios, and much more for the past 80 years. They have been serving buyers with improved designs and their production. They are known for offering innovative technology to their users.

BOSS is a brand that has been serving in the field for its innovative RV stereos. For people who travel a lot, they should invest in this product.

If you seek a user-friendly brand, get your hands on the best RV stereos by Pyle. They have received several compliments from the RV owners.

IRV technology

This brand has gained popularity amongst RV owners because of the valuable products. They make sure to satisfy the RV stereo users constantly.

How to Care For And Clean a Stereo?

If you are investing in any product, you must maintain it and take care of it. The same rule goes for the RV stereos when investing in this product; you need to keep it in the right shape and take good care of it.

You need to take care of this product because it requires good cleaning using a non-abrasive, dry piece of cloth when you are wiping it off.

How do I get my TV to play sound through my RV speakers?

By using your stereo’s AUX input you can get your TV’s sound to come through the stereo’s speaker.

This AUX connection may vary for models so your instruction manuals will be very helpful. If you don’t have that, you can plug an FM transmitter and tune to your preselected channel using the headphone jack on your tv. After doing this sound should come through without any problems.

Can I put a car stereo in my RV?

Some RV users do at the end of the day use car stereos instead of normal RV stereos. Installation for this would be very easy for anyone with experience.

It would work out but because RV stereos are much bigger than car stereos, but it can leave a sizable amount of board space that you wouldn’t want after its installation process.

What are the most trusted RV stereo brands?

All the RV stereos listed in this guide are notable brands you could choose from. They are all great but the most trusted are the IRV technologies and Jensen brands.

They are known to deliver customer satisfaction and offer a wide range of options to choose from. Buyers constantly express their positive reviews for these brands. It’s also one of the reasons why they are very trusted.

What about the warranty?

Researching before buying is a great way to look for an RV stereo. Different models come with different warranties ranging from 1 year to a lifetime.

These warranties come in handy when your stereo might have received some damage or is found to be faulty. By carefully checking customer reviews you can know the companies that honor their warranty policies to help you make better decisions.

How to care and clean?

Taking care of your stereo systems will help them last longer. Most stereo systems that are said to be broken are mostly caused by dirt and dust build-up. You can clean by using brushes or vacuum cleaners for the panels and other places that may be out of reach.

If you have CD’s you should also clean them so that they can be preserved. I would recommend cleaning your stereo systems and\or CDs daily and more thoroughly on the weekends.

How many watts does an RV radio use?

An RV radio can use up to 5 amps or 600 watts of power. If you add an amplifier it would use more than that but it can be compensated for by your RV,’s power sources, so it won’t be much of a problem.

Which is the best RV stereo?

Our top-pick from the list is IRV technologies iRV34 wall mount RV stereo . This is one of the best products on the market, which comes with Bluetooth technology that allows you to play your favorite music.

You can immediately transfer files from your phone to your device using the apps on the smartphone. Plus, the HDMI input featured in this RV stereo allows you to connect your Xbox, PS4, and Blu-ray player with the RV stereo.

Get access to all your favorite audio files anytime, anywhere with the stunning RV stereos. The easy installation and compatibility with different formats make this stereo mesmerizing.

Best Camper Wall Mount Stereo With RV DVD Player Review

Jensen RV radio version of an wall mount stereo with an RV DVD player

What is an RV Entertainment System?

The entertainment system in your camper is a wall mounted stereo that’s most likely located somewhere near the TV.

They normally include the stereo system, an RV DVD player, radio, CD player, USB port/charger, and sometimes even Bluetooth so you can play music on your RV stereo system or control it directly from your phone.

Most campers come with some sort of RV entertainment system, even the older ones. Once DVDs became popular they started adding a DVD player to all of them so people could watch movies no matter how out remote they were camping.

The cool thing about the RV DVD players in these wall mount stereos is they run on 12 volt power. That means if you have a 12 volt TV you can watch movies using only your RV batteries.

That eliminates having to run a noisy generator when you want to watch a show.

Many of us have made the switch to online streaming services in our homes, but all the old DVDs we have lying around are perfect for keeping in campers since we often camp in places with no wifi.

DVD players might be outdated in the regular world, but for camping, they’re still an awesome way to entertain the kids on a rainy day or to enjoy a nice evening inside.

The main downside to RV entertainment systems is the DVD players in them often break, especially in the older models.

If you’re tired of the crappy wall mount stereo with an old and broken RV DVD player, the good news is there are plenty of updated options out there.

And they come in all different sizes so you can find a good replacement that will fit where the old one was.

Chances are all of these are going to be an excellent upgrade to the RV stereo/entertainment system you have right now.

Best Wall Mount RV Stereo with DVD Player Reviews

1. irv technology irv66 wall mount rv stereo.

Check Price at Amazon

iRV Technology makes a few sizes of wall mounted stereos with RV DVD players.

The iRV66 linked to above is made to be a direct replacement for Concertone ZX800, ZX700, ZX690, ZX500, and Genesis Technologies GT3.0 RV stereos. There are two wiring harness adapters included for either brand.

If you are looking to replace a different brand this could still work if it matches the size of the wall mount. The mounting dimensions are 6 3/4 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches tall, and 5 inches deep.

The overall dimensions of the faceplate are 8 1/2 inches wide, 11 inches tall, and 6 inches deep. The faceplate will stick out 1 inch.

Every RV has a different number of speaker zones, many have two zones inside and 1 zone outside making 3 in total.

The iRV66 supports 3 speaker zones, with the first zone including 5.1 digital surround sound and two subwoofer outputs.

The RV stereo can output a maximum of 200 watts.

Note if you’re RV only has 1 subwoofer you can disconnect one of the subwoofer cables to make the iRV66 compatible.

Now for the ports, this wall mounted RV stereo has 3 HDMI inputs and outputs. One of the HDMI inputs is on the front faceplate so you can easily connect gaming systems or streaming devices like the Roku Streaming Stick (click to view on Amazon) .

You can also put a streaming stick in one of the back HDMI inputs so it’s out of the way.

There’s also an OPT Audio-in and a COA Audio-in port on the back. (to read more about what those are check out the FAQ section below)

On the front, there are a lot of input ports which really make the iRV66 user friendly.

There’s a port for a 3.5 mm AUX (headphone) cable, an SD card port that can play MP4, MP3, and JPEG files, a USB port to charge your phone or input video, and an HDMI port.

This RV stereo is capable of connecting to your phone via Bluetooth so you can play music through your RV speakers wirelessly.

There’s also an app you can download to control the entire RV entertainment system, like a remote for your smartphone.

iRV remote app for the iRV wall mount stereo with RV DVD player

If you don’t want to use your smartphone there’s a remote included.

On top of being an AM/FM radio, there’s an RV DVD player and CD player combo inside the unit.

All of the settings can be controlled via the smartphone app or buttons on the face of the RV stereo. There’s a backlit LED screen as well.

If you’re looking to replace your RV wall mount stereo that has a mounting hole that matches this, or it’s one of the brands this can directly replace the iRV Technology iRV66 Wall Mount RV Stereo is a fantastic option.

It’s also a great overall RV stereo if you’re building your own camper or skoolie and want a 12 volt powered RV DVD player and stereo system.

There’s a smaller version that’s about half the length called the iRV34 (click to view on Amazon) . It has all of the same features of the iRV66 and it’s an exact replacement for Genesis gt-2.o RV stereos.

If you’re looking for a small 2 speaker zone RV entertainment center the iRV31 (click to view on Amazon) is another great wall mount RV receiver made by iRV Technology.

  • 4.1 Bluetooth Connection
  • Smartphone Remote Control App
  • HDMI Input on Front
  • Included Adapters For Easy Replacement
  • 12V RV DVD Player
  • Tons of Input Ports
  • LED Display Cannot Be Dimmed & Doesn’t Go Dark
  • Slow Remote & Button Response
  • No Multi Zone Volume Control

2. Furrion RV Entertainment System

Furrion makes a ton of products that are specifically made for RVs.

Their RV backup camera ( click to see review ) is one of my favorite camper electronics made by them and they make some fantastic wall mount RV entertainment systems as well.

The Furrion RV stereos come in two different sizes for different RV speaker zones. The one linked to above is for 2 speaker zones but there’s also a larger 3 speaker zone version (click to view on Amazon ).

The 2 zone model can output up to 120 watts. It’s also very compact the inner part is only  7 1/16 inches wide, 2 inches tall, and 6 1/16 inches long (it will also fit in larger mounting holes since the faceplate is much larger)

The faceplate measures 7 15/16 inches wide, 4 3/8 inches tall, and almost 1 inch deep.

It’s compact, but the 2 Zone Furrion RV stereo has a lot of features.

The front plate has a stylish LCD screen and backlit buttons. There’s a 3.5 mm AUX audio input on the front, a headphone jack, and a USB port that supports MP3, WMA, MP4, and AVI media formats.

The RV DVD player also reads CDs and there’s an AM/FM radio inside with 30 radio station presets.

See Also:  6 Best Recliners For RVs, Campers & Trailers

In the back, there are the standard RCA inputs and outputs, a subwoofer output, 1 HDMI output, and an IR control jack.

I would like to see at least 1 HDMI input, but you can use the HDMI inputs on the TV, but it’s nice when the unit has one on the back and the faceplate. The bigger model does have an HDMI input on the faceplate which I’ll talk about as well.

Finally, the Furrion has high tech 4.0 Bluetooth connection capabilities so you can stream music wirelessly with your phone and connect to Furrion’s smartphone app you can use to control the system like a remote.

Furrion RV and Marine Entertainment System, 260W, 3-Zone Audio,...

The Furrion 3 zone model (click to view on Amazon ) can output up to 130 watts. The inner part of the unit measures 7 inches wide, around 4 inches tall, and 5 13/16 inches deep.

The faceplate is 4 11/16 inches tall, 9 13/16 inches wide, and 3/4 inches deep.

It has all of the same features of the 2 zone model like the Bluetooth, radio, RV DVD player but there are more ports on the front and back.

On the faceplate, there’s an AUX input, headphone jack, USB, and an HDMI port. The front HDMI port comes in handy if you want to quickly connect a gaming system or digital video player.

On the back, there are RCA audio inputs and outputs, a subwoofer output, an HDMI output, optical audio input, and IR control jack.

Other than the additional speaker zone and HDMI input, the optical audio cable, and the larger faceplate and inner dimensions the 3 Zone Furrion is the same as the smaller 2 zone.

Any of the Furrion RV entertainment systems are fantastic choices for upgrading your RV stereo or adding one to a homemade camper, van, or skoolie.

They’re made with RVing in mind and have vibration resistant designs and sealed parts to make them hold up longer against humidity and hot/freezing temperatures.

One rare feature they have is multi zone volume control. That means you can control the volume of each zone instead of just one big master volume.

The front plate design on either model is also very stylish and a refreshing deviation from the traditional “all buttons” RV stereo look.

  • 4.0 Bluetooth
  • HDMI Input on Front (3 Zone Model Only)
  • Multi Zone Volume Control
  • No Remote Included
  • Limited HDMI Ports
  • Low Power Output

3. Jensen Wall Mount Stereo RV DVD Player

The Jensen JWM62A wall mount stereo with RV DVD player is made to be an upgraded replacement for Jensen AWM968 and JWM60A, but it’s also a great overall upgrade to any older RV entertainment systems that have a compatible mounting hole.

There are 3 speaker zones that can connect to 8 speakers in total. This is one of the lower power output RV stereos in this review, only 48 watts in total.

There’s an RV DVD player that can also read CDs and a USB input that can read MPS and WMA files.

Of course, there’s an AM/FM radio built in and the display also doubles as a clock with an alarm.

One downside to this RV receiver is there are no HDMI inputs or outputs. You must connect it to your RV via RCA cables (the red, yellow, and white connectors).

Since most televisions connect via HDMI now I think it’s a little short sighted of Jensen to not add one, but they’re still a reputable brand and this is still a solid 12 volt RV DVD player/stereo so I’m adding it to this review.

The video outputs are in the back of the unit and the USB and AUX input are on the front panel.

The mounting dimensions for the inner part of the Jensen RV radio are 9.3 inches wide, 6.11 inches deep, and 5.12 inches tall.

The front faceplate is 10.4 inches wide, 6.77 inches tall, and about an inch thick.

See Also:  Best Deep Cycle RV Battery (AGM, SLA, 12V, 6V)

There is a Bluetooth feature that allows you to play music wirelessly. There’s also an app that turns your phone into a remote control for the RV entertainment system.

The LCD screen on the front has LED backlighting. One cool thing about the Jensen is you can actually dim the backlight, that’s not something all companies add to their RV stereos.

Included with the unit are a remote control, a 20 pin speaker wire harness, and an RCA cable.

The Jensen Wall Mount Stereo RV DVD Player is missing a few key inputs like HDMI but if you have a 12 volt TV in your RV odds are the RCA output will still give you a good quality picture.

If this is a direct replacement for the old Jensen RV radio in your camper then this is going to be an excellent upgrade that won’t take a lot of work to install.

There’s also a smaller 2 speaker zone option you can get here ( click to view on Amazon ).

  • Remote Included
  • Dimmable LCD Screen
  • Low Watt Output to Speakers
  • No HDMI (Connect TV Via RCA)

The company RecPro has recently come out with its own camper stereo system with an RV DVD player.

It’s simple but modern looking and a good option for replacing an older RV stereo of a similar size, or using to create an entirely new speaker/video system in your camper.

The inner unit measures 6 3/4 inches wide, 4 inches tall, and  6 1/2 inches deep.

The outer panel is 8 1/4 inches wide, 4 1/2 inches tall, and about 1/2 an inch deep. It doesn’t stick out very far once mounted into a wall.

The maximum watt output is 50.

On the back, there’s an HDMI port, and RCA outputs/inputs.

Even though there are not many input ports on the back the front panel has an IR port, AUX, USB 5V charge, and an HDMI port.

See Also:  Best 12 Volt RV Lithium Battery Reviews + How To Charge

There are wiring harnesses and a remote included.

The RV DVD player can also play CDs and the LCD display is dimmable and has a clock mode.

Like many of the RV stereos in this review, the RecPro also has a Bluetooth function so you can connect your smartphone and play music wirelessly.

Even though there’s a remote included they also have an app you can download that turns your smartphone into a remote.

Last but not least there’s an AM/FM radio built in.

The is fairly simple but it has the 12 volt RV DVD player which is the main thing you want.

I don’t think the app is the most useful thing but it’s there if you want to use it. Luckily RecPro has included a remote as well.

  • Front HDMI Port

5. Magnadyne Wall Mount RV Multimedia Player

Magnadyne, much like Jensen RV radios, is a brand of wall mount stereo that’s put in some RVs right from the factory. If your camper has a Magnadyne RV stereo in it, chances are this will be a direct replacement for it.

The RV6200 is the only option in this review that uses a touch screen on the front display instead of buttons.

The front LCD display takes up almost the entire faceplate of the RV entertainment center, but there’s still an RV DVD player and some input ports.

The screen is backlit but it has a dimming feature so you can darken it at night. There’s also a clock display with an alarm function.

If you don’t like touch screens and you prefer buttons there’s this rugged version called the Magnadyne RV6100 (click to view on Amazon) that’s almost the exact same thing as the RV6200, it just has buttons.

Magnadyne RV6100 AM|FM | DVD| CD | USB | AUX | App Ready Bluetooth...

The touch screen model is their most popular version and it’s definitely an upgrade to most RV stereos.

The inner part measures only 7 inches wide, 2 inches high, 5 inches deep. The faceplate is 10 1/2 inches wide, 7 1/8 inches high, and about 2 inches deep.

To make it compatible to replace larger mounting holes the RV6200 comes with an adapter plate that goes behind the inner deck to fill the empty space.

There are also wiring harnesses adapters included to make replacing certain models much faster.

On the back, there are RCA video inputs and outputs, a 20 pin speaker harness output, and an HDMI output that supports ARC for smart TVs.

See Also:  Best Portable Power Station/Solar Generator For Camping

On the faceplate, there are two USB input ports, one that supports quick charging, and one that supports media input in the form of MP3, WMA, MPEG2, MPEG4, and AVI files.

There’s also an AUX input, a headphone output, and an IR sensor for remote controls.

There’s an RV DVD player that reads CDs and an AM/FM radio that has an antenna jack in the back for better reception.

The Magnadyne RV6200 outputs the most power of any of the RV stereos in this review.

The 3 speaker zones are capable of outputting 45 watts to 4 speakers on zone A/B and 25 watts to two speakers on zone C. Zone C is normally for the outside speakers that don’t require as much power.

On top of all that, each zone’s volume can be controlled independently. A feature only found on the Furrion RV Entertainment Systems (click to view on Amazon) in this review.

The Bluetooth feature lets you connect and stream music from your phone wirelessly. And there’s also an app that turns your phone into a remote control.

Luckily there’s also a physical remote included for those of us who aren’t into the app control feature.

If you want the most modern looking and feature packed wall mounted stereo with an RV DVD player in your camper, then the Magnadyne RV Multimedia Player is the best option.

It’s has a high watt output, multi zone volume control, a high tech LCD display with touch control, and there’s still a 12 volt DVD player inside.

I would like to see an HDMI on the front, because I love being able to easily set up gaming consoles, but it’s still one of the best options for an upgraded RV stereo in this review.

  • LCD Touch Screen
  • Adapters For Easy Replacement
  • Dimmable Backlight
  • App Remote Feature
  • No HDMI Input Anywhere
  • No 2 Zone Option

What to Look for in an RV DVD Player Stereo

Compatible Mounting Size

Most of us are looking for an RV Stereo to replace an old outdated or broken one that’s already in our camper.

Since rebuilding the area where the unit will be installed takes a lot of work, it’s normally easier to get an RV entertainment center that will not only fit in the wall mounting area but also has a large enough faceplate to cover everything.

Most of the time you can make the inner mounting part work if the deck is smaller than the older one, but having to remake the outer frame isn’t usually the best way to go.

If you’re building your own camper or skoolie from scratch and you just want a wall mount stereo with a built in 12 volt DVD player, you’ll have a lot more options since you can build the cabinet for the specific RV stereo you buy.

RV DVD Player

12 volt DVD players can be hard to find. And if you want a complete RV entertainment system that can run off of your 12 volt batteries you are going to need one.

A wall mount stereo with an RV DVD player already installed is going to be one of the simplest ways to go.

Most televisions connect via HDMI now, and many RV stereos have both HDMI and the older RCA outputs for older TVs.

The popular Jensen RV radio in this review is the only option that doesn’t have any HDMI ports at all. In rare cases, this may be a problem if you plan on connecting it to a monitor or TV that only connects via HDMI.

My Choice For Best RV DVD Player Stereo

iRV Technology iRV66 Wall Mount RV Stereo

Even though I really like the independent volume control for the different speaker zones that the Furrion RV Entertainment System and the Magnadyne Wall Mount RV Multimedia Player offers, the iRV Technology still has a few things that push it ahead of the rest.

First, the max power output is really good on the iRV66 and 32.

It gives you more options for the kind of speakers you might want to install and there are two subwoofer outputs which means you could potentially have an incredible full surround sound speaker system built into your RV.

There are also a crazy amount of inputs and outputs on this RV stereo. You will be able to connect everything directly to the base unit and you won’t have to mess with the ports on the TV.

I really like the multiple HDMI inputs and outputs on the back. You can put a small Roku Streaming Stick (click to view on Amazon) into one of the back ports when you install the stereo.

It will be hidden out of the way, and you can use the streaming features when you have wifi.

There are also a lot of ports on the faceplate, including an SD card slot that can read MP4, MP3, and JPEG files if you want to play music from it or look at photos on your TV.

It might look a little outdated, but the iRV Technology iRV 66 and 32 stereos have a lot to offer and are some of the best wall mount stereos with RV DVD players in this review.

Frequently Asked Questions About RV Wall Mount Stereos

Does the rv battery run the rv entertainment system and tv.

Yes, the RV entertainment system is connected to the 12 volt power in a camper, which means the RV batteries are what power it or the 12 volt converter when you’re connected to power.

The RV TV can be powered by the RV battery if it’s a 12 volt one that’s plugged into 12 volt power. But if it’s a normal TV that uses a wall plug then it won’t be able to be run by the RV battery.

If you’re boondocking or dry camping you can always use a portable power station ( click to see the best ones here ) to power your TV since they don’t use much electricity.

What is an OPT Audio In Port & a COA Audio In Port?

OPT Audio stands for Optical Audio , which is a port for digital audio systems that use optical audio cables like these (click to view on Amazon) .

Common devices that use these are TV soundbars and some video game consoles.

You won’t need to worry about the OPT audio port in your wall mount RV stereo if you are only connecting the built in RV speaker system.

But it’s a nice feature to have if you want to add a small soundbar like this (click to view on Amazon) under your RV TV.

COA means Coaxial, so a COA audio input is for speakers that use a coaxial audio cable like this (click to view on Amazon) .

How do I connect my phone to an RV stereo with Bluetooth?

Many of the newer RV entertainment systems have a Bluetooth feature you can use to stream music from your smartphone wirelessly to the built in speaker system in your camper.

Many also use Bluetooth and an app to turn your phone into a remote control you can use to change the speaker zones, volume, and even control the RV DVD player if it has one.

To pair your phone with the RV stereo you need to find a button with the Bluetooth Symbol or one that says “BT”.

If you can’t find a Bluetooth specific button you can normally also switch through the modes until you find the one for Bluetooth.

Once you’ve clicked on the Bluetooth button on the RV radio or found the right mode, go into the Bluetooth setting on your phone.

In the devices section, the brand or model name of the RV entertainment system you have should appear. You can then click on it and your device will connect.

You are now ready to start listening to music or use the remote app to control it.

What is the iRV app?

Many of the iRV RV entertainment systems have an app feature you can use to make your smartphone a remote control.

The app is called iRV Technologies Remote.

It can be found on the Apple App Store for iPhones (click to view) and Google Play Store for Android Phones (click to view) .

What is the Furrion app for the Furrion RV stereo remote?

The remote app for Furrion RV entertainment systems is called Furrion ES Control.

One of the big downsides to the newer Furrion RV stereo models is they don’t come with physical remotes and you have to use your phone if you want to control it wirelessly.

What is the Jensen RV radio app?

If you have a newer Jensen RV stereo, chances are it can be controlled via Bluetooth on your smartphone using the jControl app.

What is the RecPro RV stereo app?

Many of the RecPro RV stereos are made by iRV and you can usually control them using iRV Technologies app.

What is the Magnadyne app?

Magnadyne RV entertainment systems with Bluetooth can be controlled using the Maganadyne app called “Linear Series Remote.”

Specifications Definitions

GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) – is the maximum permissible weight, including cargo, fluids, optional equipment and accessories that can be safely supported by a combination of all axles.

UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight)* - is the typical weight of the unit as manufactured at the factory. It includes all weight at the unit’s axle(s) and tongue or pin and LP Gas. The UVW does not include cargo, fresh potable water, additional optional equipment or dealer installed accessories. *Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity)** - is the amount of weight available for fresh potable water, cargo, additional optional equipment and accessories. CCC is equal to GVWR minus UVW. Available CCC should accommodate fresh potable water (8.3 lbs per gallon). Before filling the fresh water tank, empty the black and gray tanks to provide for more cargo capacity. **Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

Each Forest River RV is weighed at the manufacturing facility prior to shipping. A label identifying the unloaded vehicle weight of the actual unit and the cargo carrying capacity is applied to every Forest River RV prior to leaving our facilities.

The load capacity of your unit is designated by weight, not by volume, so you cannot necessarily use all available space when loading your unit.

The small and mighty Keystone Coleman 17R has everything you need for an adventurous getaway. This small camper with a bathroom has an open floor plan, including a queen-sized bed and a dinette, which is well-suited for a small family or a couple’s first camper. The rear bathroom offers two large cabinets to store toiletries, towels, and more!

The Campsite Reserve 25MW is fully loaded with features that will make you the envy of the campground, including a king-sized bed, an outdoor kitchen, an entertainment center with hidden shelves, and the largest windows in its class.

The rear bathroom has a sink and ample cabinet space. A skylight over the shower and a mirrored medicine cabinet makes it feel even brighter and more spacious. Plus, this rear bath travel trailer is equipped with a 100-watt solar panel and a 30-amp charge controller—one reason the Campsite Reserve brand made our list of the best travel trailers with solar panels.

This lightweight travel trailer is full of amenities and has a bright and welcoming feel with its light colors and open floor plan! Jayco also offers RVers some enticing options for upgrading this rear bath camper, such as a Mega Lounge in place of the sofa and dinette, theater seating instead of the sofa, or a king-sized bed instead of the standard queen.

Heartland Mallard M260

  • Cargo Capacity: 1,680 pounds

Beautifully and thoughtfully designed from the inside out, the Mallard M260 is as dreamy as a small RV trailer with a bathroom can get. The interior will make you feel like you stepped into a farmhouse on wheels, while the exterior has all the cool features you expect from Heartland, such as LED lighting and glow-in-the-dark graphics.

Other noteworthy interior and exterior features include one of the largest-in-class underneath storage compartments, a full-height pantry/coat closet, reversible booth cushions to suit your decor preference, and more. You’re sure to be the envy of the campground in this RV!

rockwood-sofa-rear-bath-travel-trailer

  • Length: 20’2”
  • Dry Weight: 3,543 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 894 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 3

The Rockwood Geo-Pro 19FBS is a small travel trailer with a large rear bathroom thanks to its spacious floor plan and slide-out feature. This lightweight and light-colored RV is perfect for a couple, and the pull-out sofa transforms a couch into a guest bed or an extra sleeping space for a kid.

It’s one of the most compact and lightweight travel trailers. Its rear bath floor plan makes it easily towable with smaller trucks and SUVs. Although it’s smaller than some of the others on this list, it has a queen-sized, very functional kitchen and a cozy lounge/dining area.

East to West Silver Lake 2600RB

  • Length: 30’6”
  • Dry Weight: 6,158 pounds
  • Cargo Capacity: 1,562 pounds

The spacious Silver Lake 2600RB has room for the whole family. This RV with a large bathroom offers plenty of seating and sleeping options to host guests, with a king-size bed and a super slide-out that holds the jackknife sofa and the booth dinette.

The large rear bathroom of this floorplan provides ample cabinet storage while still giving you plenty of room to freshen up after a day on the trails or relaxing around the campfire. Don’t miss the full-height pantry that could double as a coat closet behind the fireplace and entertainment center!

Forest River Salem FSX 164RBLE

Salem FSX 164RBLE Floor Plan

  • Length: 20’
  • Dry Weight: 2,819 pounds

This lightweight travel trailer has everything a couple needs for a comfortable weekend getaway. The Salem FSX 164BLE offers an open floor plan with a couch, queen bed, and plenty of cabinet space, making it a great option for a first camper.

The biggest downside is not having a true dining area, but the lightweight and compact size are the positive trade-offs. You can always use TV dinner trays or dine outdoors at your campsite picnic table!

The rear bath features a glass-door shower, a porcelain toilet, and a skylight over the shower, making this floorplan feel truly like a home away from home. What Are Some Benefits of a Rear Bath Travel Trailer?

The primary benefit of rear bath travel trailer floorplans is the spacious bathroom, which often includes a larger shower, more storage, and increased privacy compared to other travel trailer layouts.

This design is ideal for those who value comfort and convenience, such as couples seeking a cozy yet functional retreat or small families who need extra space to accommodate their needs while still enjoying the great outdoors together.

A rear bath travel trailer offers several other benefits:

  • Maximized Privacy : The rear bath layout places the bathroom at the farthest point from the living and sleeping areas, providing more privacy and reducing noise disturbance when nature calls!
  • Spacious Bathroom : No matter the size of the travel trailer, these rear bath trailers often feature larger bathrooms with more space for amenities like a bigger shower and additional storage cabinets compared to other travel trailer floor plans .
  • Efficient Use of Space : By situating the bathroom at the rear, the central and front areas of the trailer can be utilized more effectively for living, dining, and sleeping, leading to a more open and versatile floor plan.
  • More Spacious Feel : The separation of the bathroom from other living areas creates an overall open feel and improves the flow of movement within the trailer, making it easier to move around without dancing around each other.
  • Storage Options : Rear bath travel trailers often include additional storage inside the bathroom and in the rear of the trailer, which can make all the difference when living full-time or taking an extended trip.

Is It Worth Having a Bathroom in a Camper?

Having a bathroom in a camper can be well worth it, depending on your travel style, needs, and preferences.

Most campgrounds have shared bathhouses that should be kept clean by the staff on-site. The keywords there are shared and should. If you have a small camper with a bathroom, you don’t have to share, and you can maintain it to your standard of cleanliness.

But the benefits of small campers with bathrooms begin before you reach the campground. Travel days are much more comfortable when you don’t have to worry about the health and safety concerns of using a bathroom at a gas station along your route.

Not a fan of established campgrounds? A bathroom allows you to be more self-sufficient, enabling you to camp in remote locations without nearby facilities. While a bathroom takes up space and requires maintenance, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

Can You Shower in an RV Without Hookups?

Yes, you can! All the rear bath travel trailers listed have a fresh water tank, a water heater, a water pump, and a gray water tank, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing shower between adventures.

To conserve water best without having hookups, campers can shower using a Navy shower technique: turning off the water while soaping up and only turning it on to rinse. Learn these additional unspoken rules of showering in an RV .

With many rear bath travel trailers, you enjoy a spacious and private bathroom, an open floor plan, and thoughtful touches that make life on the road more enjoyable. Whether you’re embarking on weekend getaways or living on the road full-time, these rear bath travel trailer floor plans offer the perfect balance of comfort and convenience.

Travel trailers have evolved with the market over recent years, and there are more floor plan options than ever. Check out these options to help find the best RV for you and your family:
