The season follows Ash and Goh as they travel around the world , based at the Cerise Laboratory in Vermilion City in Kanto . The last 12 episodes of the season form an arc called Pokémon: To Be a Pokémon Master , during which Ash reunites with Misty and Brock and travels the world with them.

• Unlike the previous two seasons, the Ultimate Journeys logo that appears during the opening theme and the Who's That Pokémon? segment includes the phrase "The Series".
• This is the first season to have more than one opening theme song (first since Pokémon: Advanced , if going by television definition).
