Love the friendly staff at Detour and the food is brilliant! I had the corn fritters which I highly recommend!
The breakfasts are so great here. Always cooked to perfection. Eggcellently runny eggs, wonderfully ripe avocados, smokey delicious salmon. and the full English is very good also - high quality ingredients, not greasy. Will return soon.
Great for coffee or food (breakfast, brunch). The staff is really friendly which makes you want to go back! Definitely nicer than Laveli across the street. Excellent que ce soit pour un cafe ou pour manger. Le personnel est super et donne envie de revenir!... Mieux que Laveli de l'autre cote de la rue. More
Went here for brunch, perhaps the manager's day off as service was poor, despite having 3 waitstaff on duty for a very small number of tables. Wasn't even full but just didn't see staff on the floor. When we arrived tables were dirty, had to... approach staff at counter for a menu as none were on tables or anywhere within sight and no-one offered us one. When food arrived over thirty minutes after ordering with no explanation, it was tasty. Had to wait several minutes eyeing it up while we were brought cutlery. So, kitchen is doing alright if taking their time, but front of house staff are a shambles. Heard another table complaining about a long wait for the wrong food and asking to have the service charge removed from the bill. Wish we'd done the same. The bill came to £30 for two meals & 2 coffees; you're having a laugh. More
Dropped in for breakfast and had a lovely meal. Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked, granola was excellent, coffee was very good. All in all a very pleasant experience. Service was friendly and quick without being rushed. Will certainly go again
Popped in for coffee and very underwhelmed. Cafe staff very nice and place itself very nice but coffee was very average at best. Will try somewhere else next time. Didn’t have any food so cannot comment.
I've been here twice for breakfast now and the menu is amazing. In my opinion it caters for all tastes from eggs of every variety to French toast and pancakes. It's very reasonably priced also and the staff and very friendly.
One of the latest cafe along Askew Road. Nice deco, friendly staff, very fast wifi. Coffee wasn't the best and the chicken panini I had wasn't very tasty. So, I won't recommend it for the food and coffee but it's a great place to relax... with friends and family on a Saturday morning. More

After looking at some reviews we decided to change our Sunday breakfast place to try a new place.. and we sat at this cafe. It is a pretty cafe, but after trying different eggs royal in many places, I must admit that this is far... the worst I have ever tasted. More expensive, the bread wasn’t a brioche, eggs not done as they should and the sauce was tasteless... Sorry Detour but it was not a good experience... In another side, the smoothie was very nice.. Great little cafe. The venue itself is pretty small but there were lots of cakes on display and the coffee tasted great. The bonus is it is pooch friendly. Next time I'm in the area I will go back to try some cake.
Ordered a coffee and then I thought I’d get a little treat so I got a Florentine, Lord have mercy!!!!! That is the best Florentine I have ever eaten in my 44 years of life, and I have eaten a lot!!!! Coffee was good too👍
