The Family Values Tour 2001

The Family Values Tour 2001 is the third live album with various artists performing on stage during The Family Values Tour in fall 2001. It is released on May 7, 2002. The album was recorded live at assorted dates on the annual alt-metal tour. It includes various artists such as Linkin Park, Staind, Deadsy, Stone Temple Pilots, Static-X, and Staind frontman Aaron Lewis.

The Family Values Tour was created by the American nu metal band Korn to be an annual rock and hip hop tour. It began in 1998 and took the year off in 2000 due to heavy competition from other tours such as the Anger Management Tour and the Summer Sanitarium Tour. Bands taking part in the 2001 edition were Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Puddle Of Mudd, Staind, Static-X, Deadsy, and Spike 1000.

The album was produced by Josh Abraham, before his collaboration with Linkin Park on Reanimation (2002) and Live In Texas (2003), while executive production was handled by Korn themselves and Jeff Kwatinetz. The tracks by various artists in the album were recorded live on The Family Values Tour in the fall of 2001. The exact dates of the performances are unknown, but at least " Creep " and " One Step Closer " are confirmed to be from the final show of the tour in Tacoma on November 17, 2001 while " Wicked Garden " is from the San Jose show on November 13, 2001 as stated by Scott Weiland in the beginning of the track.

During the Sacramento show , Scott Weiland announced that "Linkin Park and STP are putting a song together and it should be out fairly soon." [1] The song was an studio version of " Wonderful " featuring vocals by Chester Bennington which had crowd noise added in later to give the illusion of a live performance. [2] It was set to be the album's first single and would be sent to U.S. radio outlets for airplay consideration in March 2002, but instead, Elektra opted to send a sampler featuring various album tracks to U.S. radios. [3] They were "Wonderful", "Fade", "One Step Closer", "Push It" and "Tom Sawyer". [4]
