Delhi to Rajasthan with Goa by Rail

We took the Travel and Tours India "Delhi to Rajasthan with Goa by Rail" tour. We selected this because the travel was done all by train and because the trip can be taken on almost any day of the week, which allowed the trip to fit in with our other trip plans. The trip was very well planned, with all the destinations and trains we took booked and specified before we left. The choice of destinations was very good. We were met outside our train car at every station and taken to our hotel or tour. This is a very good feature of the tour, as Indian train stations are large and have lots of exits. Particularly for visitors, they can be a bit confusing, so the guidance is very useful. For all the local tours, a driver was supplied and sometimes a guide as well. The drivers were very helpful and would cheerfully accomodate special stops for shopping or to take photographs. The hotels were all really good and comfortable and many had good views, like the Udaipur hotel, with a great view of the lake. Our tour organizer, Ashu was available by 'phone or text message at any time. If we went to India again, we would take one of the Travel and Tours tours.

Completed in 1881, the small-gauge (610mm) Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (commonly known as the Toy Train) was designed as an extension of the North Bengal State Railway, climbing from New Jalpaiguri, via Siliguri, for a tortuous 88km up to Darjeeling . 

Given UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999, the Toy Train follows the Hill Cart Road, crossing it at regular intervals and even sharing it with traffic. Although no longer an essential mode of transport, the train is certainly a tourist attraction, and currently runs daily from New Jalpaiguri at 8.30am, reaching Darjeeling at 3.35pm. 

Diesel engines are now de rigueur on the long route. Weather permitting, coaches with large viewing windows provide magnificent vistas as the journey progresses and the scenery gradually unfolds; the second class can be fun but crowded. 

Some travellers may find the entire route from Siliguri painfully slow. The section from Kurseong is well worth the time, however; alternatively, you could take the short (“Joy”) ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom.

Indian Railways introduced the concept of operating tourist trains on theme based circuits under the banner of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains. The journeys undertaken on these trains are on the diverse circuits which are offered in the form of tour packages wherein services like off-board travel and excursions by buses, stay at hotels, tour guides, meals, travel insurance etc are provided along with comfortable train journey and allied onboard services.

गर्मी की छुट्टियों में आईआरसीटीसी एक तरफ जहां देश के अलग-अलग हिस्सों में स्थित धार्मिक और पर्यटन स्थलों पर घूमने का टूर पैकेज चला रहा है. वहीं दूसरी तरफ विदेश के लिए भी हवाई टूर पैकेज लॉन्च कर रहा है. इसी क्रम में आईआरसीटीसी उत्तरी क्षेत्र लखनऊ द्वारा लखनऊ से नेपाल के लिए हवाई टूर पैकेज का शुरू करने जा रहा है.

यह टूर पैकेज 25 जून 2024 से 29 जून 2024 तक चलाया जाएगा. 04 रात/05 दिनों की इस यात्रा में पर्यटकों को काठमांडू में पशुपतिनाथ के दर्शन कराए जाएंगे. साथ ही पोखरा की हसीन वादियों का दीदार भी कराया जाएगा. इस पैकेज में पर्यटकों के लिए लखनऊ से काठमांडू और लखनऊ वापसी यात्रा की व्यवस्था हवाई जहाज से की गई है. इसके साथ ही काठमांडू से पोखरा की यात्रा भी हवाई माध्यम से कराई जायेगी और पोखरा से काठमांडू वापसी की यात्रा बस द्वारा कराई जायेगी.

इन स्थानों का कराया जाएगा भ्रमण:  इस यात्रा के दौरान पर्यटकों को काठमाण्डू में पशुपतिनाथ मन्दिर, बौद्धनाथ स्तूप, दरबार स्क्वायर, तिब्बती रिफ्यूजी सेंटर एवं गार्डन आफ ड्रीम्स का भ्रमण कराया जायेगा. इसके साथ ही पोखरा में मनोकामना मन्दिर, विन्ध्यवासिनी मन्दिर, गुप्तेश्वर महादेव गुफा,हिमालय की पहाड़ियों में सूर्योदय दर्शन इस टूर का विशेष आकर्षण होगा. इस हवाई यात्रा पैकेज में जाने/आने की हवाई यात्रा, तीन सितारा होटलों में ठहरने की व्यवस्था और खाने के लिए भारतीय खाने की व्यवस्था आईआरसीटीसी की तरफ से की जाएगी जिसमें ब्रेकफास्ट, लन्च एवं डिनर शामिल होगा.

जानिए कितना होगा किराया:  इस टूर पैकेज के लिए तीन व्यक्तियों के एक साथ ठहरने पर पैकेज का मूल्य रू 44600/- प्रति व्यक्ति है. जबकि दो व्यक्तियों के एक साथ ठहरने पर पैकेज का मूल्य रू-45900/- प्रति व्यक्ति निर्धारित है. वहीं एक व्यक्ति के ठहरने पर पैकेज का मूल्य रू. 53600/- प्रति व्यक्ति है.प्रति बच्चे का पैकेज मूल्य रू.44600/- (बेड सहित) एवं मूल्य रू 41400/- (बिना बेड के) प्रति व्यक्ति है.

• IRCTC registered users and Guest users can avail the part payment facility for online booking at www.irctctourism.com.
• IRCTC counters can also use this facility to accommodate the walk-in customers.
• Agents are not authorized for online booking with part payment at www.irctctourism.com.
• The minimum ARP (Advanced Reservation Period) for part payment facility would be for booking done before 35 days from departure date.
• Part Payment is applicable on total booking amount, where the package cost is greater than Rs 50000/-. It will be collected in 2 installments inclusive of GST. ✔ For Domestic/International Air Packages: - 1st payment for 30% amount, Final/ Balance payment for 70%. ✔ For All Other Packages: - 1st payment for 25% amount, Final/Balance payment for 75%.
• If the due/final payment is not done within 30 days prior to departure date , then the request for the final payment would not be accepted & booking would be treated as cancelled & relevant cancellation charges would be applicable.
• Partial cancellation of passengers is not allowed in part payment transactions.
• For any cancellation and part/final payment days are counted excluding the date of departure.
• Tour confirmation number will only be generated after receipt of total package cost by IRCTC.
• Only Full cancellation is allowed on the above transactions with applicable cancellation charges.
