Steven Tyler (L) jams out with Joe Perry.

After more than 50 years together, Aerosmith has decided to “Peace Out.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band just announced their 40-concert farewell ‘Peace Out’ Tour that will send them all over North America from September through January 2024.

“(We’re) kind of anxious to get back on the road,“ guitarist Joe Perry said.

While touring with special guest The Black Crowes, Aerosmith will stop into Long Island’s UBS Arena on Sept. 9, Newark’s Prudential Center on Dec. 28, Buffalo’s KeyBank Center on Jan. 16 and New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Jan. 19.

And if you want to be there, you don’t have to “Dream On” — we’re here to help you pick up tickets to see the four-time Grammy winners as soon as today.

Aerosmith have announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out farewell tour, which was suspended in September 2023 because Steven Tyler fractured his larynx. This new leg kicks off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh and wraps up Feb. 26 in Buffalo, New York. They’ll once again be joined by the Black Crowes.

The band announced plans to wrap their career with one final tour in May 2023, but they played a mere three shows before Tyler severely hurt his larynx. “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” he wrote in a message to fans. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

AEROSMITH Announces Rescheduled Dates For 'Peace Out' Farewell Tour

AEROSMITH   has announced the rescheduled dates for the band's "Peace Out" farewell tour.

The trek will kick off on September 20 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where the legendary Massachusetts rockers played at the start of last year's original run, and will include a return appearance at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 41-date tour will conclude on February 26, 2025 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Support on the trek will once again come from THE BLACK CROWES , who recently released their new album, "Happiness Bastards" .

AEROSMITH postponed the original "Peace Out" farewell tour dates after singer Steven Tyler suffered vocal cord damage in September 2023. The news came two weeks after AEROSMITH postponed six shows on the trek in order to allow Tyler time to recover from his injury.

When AEROSMITH announced the tour postponement, the band said in a statement: : "To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven 's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.

"He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential. As a result, all the currently scheduled 'Peace Out' shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more."

Tyler said in an accompanying statement: "I am heartbroken to not be out there with AEROSMITH , my brothers and the incredible BLACK CROWES , rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!"

AEROSMITH kicked off its "Peace Out" farewell on September 2, 2023 at the 21,000-capacity Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

AEROSMITH 's 18-song set opened with "Back In The Saddle" and included a cover of FLEETWOOD MAC 's "Stop Messin' Around" , before closing with a two-song encore of "Dream On" and "Walk This Way" .

Produced by Live Nation , the 40-date North American tour was scheduled to make stops at arenas across the U.S. and Canada, including Los Angeles's Kia Forum, New York's Madison Square Garden and Toronto's Scotiabank Arena, with a special stop in their hometown of Boston for New Year's Eve 2023.

The "Peace Out" run of dates was originally set to wrap on January 26, 2024 in Montreal. Special guests THE BLACK CROWES were joining AEROSMITH for the entire tour, which was to celebrate AEROSMITH 's five decades of music.

Prior to the launch of "Peace Out" , AEROSMITH wrapped its critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Ahead of the residency, AEROSMITH returned to its hometown in Boston to perform a record-breaking one-off show at Fenway Park as part of the legendary band's 50th anniversary celebrations. With over 38,700 people in attendance, it was the most tickets sold to date for a show at the iconic venue.

In May 2022, AEROSMITH announced that Tyler had entered a treatment program following a relapse, prompting the band to put their Las Vegas residency on a temporary hold.

Tyler had been struggling with drug and alcohol addiction since the mid-1980s. Over the course of the last four decades, he had relapsed several times, including in the early 2000s and 2009.

Aerosmith has announced a farewell tour with a couple of Texas dates that will begin in September of 2023. The tour is to celebrate the band's 50-plus years together, and they're calling it “Peace Out.”

" I think it's about time, " guitarist Joe Perry said in an interview with AP .

They will be playing the 40 concerts without Joey Kramer. The band released the following statement:

While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.

Aerosmith also includes frontman Steven Tyler, bassist Tom Hamilton, and guitarist Brad Whitford. Drummer John Douglas will play in place of Kramer.

The Black Crowes will be the opener for the slated shows, which include two Texas dates. The "Peace Out" tour will start up on Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and wrap up on Jan. 26 in Montreal. Your chance to catch Aerosmith in the Lone Star State is as follows.

Monday, October 23: Austin, TX (Moody Center ATX)

Wednesday, November 1: San Antonio, TX (AT&T Center)

Tuesday, November 7: Dallas, TX (American Airlines Center)

If you're in El Paso and looking for a closer location not in Texas, there is a Phoenix show on December 10th happening at the Footprint Center.

The band announced its final tour with a "breaking news" YouTube video. Check it out.

Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, while Steven Tyler and Joe Perry made it into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 5th - click here to order them from ticketmaster.com and to check out the full touring schedule. VIP packages are available that include premium seating and a photo op with the band.

Aerosmith are a blues-rock band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, U.S who formed in 1970. They are regularly referred to as “America’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” and are to this day one of the most successful touring rock bands in the world.

Most legendary bands should descend into a kind of caricature in their third decade of being a band. No-one can keep up a hell-raising reputation after they’ve passed the age where they would normally have kids and those that try are utterly hilarious for all the wrong reasons. That, and the fact that as time goes on we get other bands and artists being ever more outrageous in what they do and say. This means that it’s difficult for a modern day audience to read about what made last generation’s parents get up in arms about and truly understand why it was so shocking at the time.

However, that’s where Aerosmith come in. Aerosmith are timeless, they’re cool whatever your surroundings and when you look at them today, you still feel the kind of thrill you get when the most dangerous person you know winks at you. Put simply, Aerosmith are still a bunch of badasses 45 years into their career, and they won’t be stopping any time soon. The band began with The Toxic Twins themselves, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, fronting their own bands, called Chain Reaction and The Jam Band respectively.

In 1970 the two bands played together on the same bill, and Tyler was completely taken with Perry’s band, which already contained future Aerosmith rhythm section Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer on bass and drums respectively. Tyler wanted to combine the two bands and after talking it over, that’s exactly what he got. By October 1970, the band had moved in together, Monkees style, and started writing music and rehearsing for future shows. By 1971, they’d finalised the line up with the addition of Brad Whitford on the rhythm guitar, and the following year, by playing a gig in the presence of the head of Columbia Records Clive Davis, they got themselves a record deal.

January 1973 saw the release of their self-titled debut album. Pretty much immediately they gained a devoted following with a strong album and a decent sized hit with their single “Dream On”. That’s where their career stayed for the next couple of years, their raucous Blues-rock cutting out a fine niche for them and their live shows were as unmissable as they ever would be. 1975 would change everything. Their third album “Toys In The Attic” would take them from a jobbing but talented rock band to global megastars on par with Zeppelin and The Stones.

Ever since then they’ve been legendary for all the right reasons. They have the songs, the live show, the story and the legacy, everyone from Metallica to Motley Crue swear by their Aerosmith records and even Kurt Cobain was heavily influenced by their album “Rocks”. They’ve managed to weather any storm that a lifetime of rock and roll can throw at them and come out the other side with a live show that can still knock people for six. Knowing the habits that Tyler and Perry had in their prime, they’re lucky to still be around, but we’re lucky to have them around and rocking as well. Any self-respecting rock fan would do well to see this band as soon as possible.

Live reviews

When I heard that Aerosmith was playing in my area I decided to attend. Just so I could tell my kids I saw such a legendary band.

They are truly one of the legends of classic rock. The place was very crowded and the arena was sold out. The band started out with “Love in an Elevator” and then played the great song “Sweet Emotion”. Steven Tyler sounded great and Joe Perry was awesome on guitar. They had a tons of cool effects and lighting.

They also were really, really loud! My ears were hurting at some points during the show. They did “Dream on” and also played a lot of their 1990’s hits. They had one section in the set where they played like it was 1978 again and did the song “Train Kept a Rollin” which really brought the house down.

The crowd was great and it was a good mix of young, middle age, and older people. The band did several encores including “Walk this Way” and “Janie’s Got a Gun”. They played the classic video with Run DMC when they did Walk this Way.

The show was about 2 hours and it was great. But my ears are still hurting, they were really loud...

Report as inappropriate

When Aerosmith have attained the reputation as "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band", they clearly must have a live show that matches this lofty claim. Obviously their commercial success and iconic status goes without saying, but at the age of 66, can Steve Tyler and co really still wow fans?

Luckily, they still rock out with the intensity of a band 40 years their junior. From the bold opener 'Train Kept A-Rollin'' you know you are in for an energetic show that will keep you entertained throughout. Now a household name, Aerosmith treat audiences to a dose of nostalgia playing classics such as 'Livin' On The Edge' and 'Cryin''. Unfortunately my personal favourite 'Janie's Got A Gun' was not on the setlist but with no sign of slowing down, maybe they'll add it to future dates.

The combination of a cover of The Beatles' 'Come Together' and 'Walk This Way' made for a huge closer perhaps surpassable by many other bands considered to be in the same league as Aerosmith.

Wow!!!!! at his age Mr. Tyler can still bust a move, to the point where he split his snake skin pants in the rear. He maintained his sense of humour and pointed it out later to the crowd. What a guy!!! His singing voice is still paramount! He definitely loves to be the entertainer in front of a very large crowd. I do hope he continues for many years to come. He's still got it. More than that he will sing to members of the audience and throw out trinkets of memorabilia. There was never a dull moment at Big Music Festival in Kitchener on July 13, 2014. The band supports him totally as do his camera and prop people. Sorry to say, this was the first time I had an opportunity to see Aerosmith live, but God willing, it won't be my last. Flamboyant and fun is the easiest way to describe my experience at a live performance of Aerosmith. Steven Tyler loves what he does and always will.

I have been an Aerosmith fan since I was 2 years old, back in 1974, and I used to try to swerve my hips back 'n' forth à la Steven Tyler.

I have only had the chance to see them 3 times in my life, and it seems that every time they come in concert life whisks me away some place else!

So now I'm in Cyprus for a long time coming... and nearly nobody ever comes out to this little (amazing) island at the end of the Mediterranean sea. It's unfortunate as there are some true fans out here, and I'm sure the band would love to make a pitstop in this paradisal place.

@Aerosmith - PLEASE COME!!! It really is worth it here.

I have seen Aerosmith over 30 times!!! I am from Fl., in 2015 they didn't come to the east coast. So I went to the 2nd to last concert of "The Blue Army Tour" in Hildago,Tx.

It was the best concert by them that I have seen yet.

3rd row 3rd seat, Steven Tyler seemed and acted like he was a 25-year-old .

After 30 times of seeing them I felt like it was my 1st. He threw his harmonica to me and I went nuts.

I have to say that it was the highlight of my life. Next to having my son it was the best day of my life.

I can hardly wait until they come again.......it won't be soon enough.

So great! As usual. Living Color just a huge bonus. This entire Blue Army Tour had been something I will talk about forever. It's not over, nor am I. The show was so fabulous I intend on going to Vegas for certain and Ohio if I can get tickets.

Each show has been a packed-house: but they make you feel like your the only one there.

Living Color just starts starts it off with so much energy. The crowd is pumped. Aerosmith follows it up and keeps the entire show going.

Living Color had a new album coming. I can't wait.

Aerosmith are a legendary band and their concerts are full of energy and really entertaining. Sure, they are older and one can tell that it's not exactly the same anymore but to perform the way they do at their age... it's incredible. They leave everything onstage and it's a wonderful experience.

I recommend seeing them live if they're in town.

Aerosmith reschedules Peace Out farewell tour: Dates for 3 Florida shows, how to get tickets

Portrait of Samantha Neely

Florida Aerosmith fans will wait just a bit longer to finally say peace out  to the iconic rock band.

The rockers, who postponed their Peace Out farewell tour  after only a few shows in September, will return for a 40-date run starting Sept. 20 of this year.

Three Florida shows are included in this new schedule, all seeing dates in the early half of 2025. As with the original dates,  The Black Crowes  will open for Aerosmith.

When are the new Florida dates for Aerosmith's 'Peace Out' farewell tour? They also added an extra city

The new dates for the Florida shows are:

  • Friday, Feb. 14 - Tampa, Amelie Arena
  • Monday, Feb. 17 - Sunrise, Amerant Bank Arena

In addition to rescheduling the tour, the band added three cities: Pittsburgh, Orlando and Philadelphia, where their tour kicked off last September.

The Orlando date is Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Kia Arena, recently renamed from the Amway Center.

Why did Aerosmith have to postpone 2023 tour dates? What happened to Steven Tyler?

On Sept. 12, Tyler initially  announced  that he had a severe vocal injury that occurred during Aerosmith's Saturday show in Long Island, New York.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler, 75, said in a  statement  released by the band on Monday. “I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.

However, the band shared in a statement two weeks later that said “Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.”

They shared the rock icon was receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but "given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.”

I bought tickets to Aerosmith's 2023 shows. Will my tickets be honored?

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates, while tickets for the new shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time April 12 via  ticketmaster.com .

For those who previously purchased tickets and cannot attend the rescheduled concerts, refunds will be available at point of purchase. A series of VIP packages are also available at  aerosmith.com/VIP.

What songs can fans expect to hear at Aerosmith’s farewell shows?

USA TODAY attended the opening show in Philadelphia last year. While there could be changes to the set list, here's what it looked like prior to the postponement:

  • "Back in the Saddle"
  • "Love in an Elevator"
  • "Janie's Got a Gun"
  • "Adam's Apple"
  • "Livin' on the Edge"
  • "No More No More"
  • "Hangman Jury"
  • "Seasons of Wither"
  • "Movin' Out"
  • "Stop Messin' Around"
  • "Rats in the Cellar"
  • "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"
  • "Sweet Emotion"
  • "Toys in the Attic"
  • "Walk This Way"

Are all original Aerosmith members on tour?

Original drummer  Joey Kramer  will be sitting out the band's final tour. John Douglas, Aerosmith's former drum tech, is filling Kramer's seat.

“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed,” the band said in a statement.

However, fans can look forward to Tyler's yowl and his fellow Toxic Twin, Joe Perry, on the guitar. Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton remain on guitar and bass.

Rockers Queens of the Stone Age are canceling the rest of their 2024 concerts.

The band shared a statement on social media explaining, "QOTSA regret to announce the cancelation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows."

It continued, noting founding member and lead singer and guitarist Josh Homme "has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year."

"Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025," the statement concluded.

Homme revealed in a 2023 interview with Revolver Magazine he had been diagnosed with cancer a year prior. He didn’t specify what kind, saying only that he had a successful surgery to remove it.

"I never say it can’t get any worse. I never say that, and I wouldn’t advise it. But I do say it can get better," Homme told the outlet. "Cancer is just the cherry on top of an interesting time period, you know? I’m extremely thankful that I’ll get through this, and I’ll look back at this as something that’s f---ed up — but will have made me better. I’m cool with that. There’s a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with."

Queens of the Stone Age have released eight studio albums, with their latest being 2023’s "In Times New Roman."

The band is not alone in having to cancel shows for health reasons.

Earlier this year, Aerosmith announced they are officially retiring from touring, due to lead singer Steven Tyler's vocal issues.

"As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury," a statement from the band read read. "We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage."
