This outdoor attraction sits under the night sky in Lawrenceville at Sugarloaf Mills, and welcomes visitors with amazing light-up sculptures of beloved dinosaurs, mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, and more. The two exhibition areas, Dino Safari and Ice Age Adventure, features more than 50 life-sized animated dinosaur and animal light sculptures. Many of these dinosaurs roar, move, and tower over guests, offering a unique look into millennia gone by.

More Dinosaur Attractions & Fun

Your family may come for the terrifyingly beautiful dinosaurs, but will stay for the hands-on attractions at Dino Safari! This year's activities includes a dino fossil hunt and safari dig, the Jungle Explorer Playground, Dino Speedway, and the Oviraptor Ride (for adults and kids). 

During LuminoCity Dino Safari's run, the attraction offers special theme nights, where visitors can dress in costumes and unleash their inner paleotologist, adventurer, or even T. Rex! Check the event website to find out when these days are scheduled.

If you want to take a little piece of the dinosaur-themed event home with you, visit the Lumi giftshop, where families can shop for souvenirs, toys, and of course, stuffed dinosaurs.

LuminoCity Dino Safari: Know Before You Go

• LuminoCity Dino Safari is located at Sugarloaf Mills, 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA. The event runs from March 28 through April 28, 2024.
• The festival opens daily, 4:30-9:30pm. The event lasts approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your family's pace of exploration.
• Ticket prices range from $20-$26 per person. Children age 3 and under are FREE. The event is stroller friendly.
• Hungry visitors can head to the food and relaxation zone, with food trucks and restroom facilities. Guests are allowed to bring snacks and beverages into the event, just not into the individual amusement activities.
• It's recommended to purchase tickets in advance, but you can also buy tickets at the door.

LuminoCity Festival Returns to Maryland with the Spectacular Dino Safari Festival

LuminoCity Festival Inc.  (LuminoCity), a women and minority-owned light sculpture festival, is excited to announce its return to Montgomery County, Maryland, with the highly anticipated Dino Safari Festival. This event will run from July 4 to August 4, 2024, at Westfield Montgomery Mall, located at 7101 Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda, MD. The festival will be open Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online at luminocityfestival.com or onsite.

“We are thrilled to return to Maryland for our Dino Safari Festival,” said Xiaoyi Chen, founder of LuminoCity. “Those that missed it last November, can experience the mesmerizing journey of prehistoric wonders, and create one-of-a-kind memories for families, friends, and dinosaur lovers.”

Following the success of its Holiday Lights Festival in 2023, LuminoCity’s Dino Safari Festival marks its second appearance in the area, featuring new themes and attractions. The Holiday Lights Festival will also return to Montgomery County this November.

The Dino Safari Festival will transport attendees to an era long past, offering a captivating glimpse into the ancient world of dinosaurs, mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, and more. Using state-of-the-art animatronics with light art, visitors will experience these larger-than-life-size prehistoric giants come to life with jaw-dropping realism.

• Dino Safari and Ice Age Adventure:  Explore 70+ life-sized animated dinosaurs and immersive ice age animal sculptures.

Luminocity's dino safari festival roars to life in orlando, florida and recently hosted its opening ceremony.

ORLANDO, Fla. , May 24, 2024 /PRNewswire/ --  LuminoCity Festival Inc. (LuminoCity), a mesmerizing light sculpture festival of grand proportions, recently held its opening ceremony for its Dino Safari Festival at Simon Property's The Florida Mall located at 8001 S Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, Florida . Open daily between 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. from now through June 16, 2024 , this outdoor adventure brings the prehistoric era to life with life-sized, illuminated dinosaur replicas.

Set in a natural environment, the festival combines education and entertainment, featuring rides and attractions including the Dino Speedway, T-Rex Thrill Experience, Jungle Explorer Playground, Dino Carousel, and Oviraptor Ride, making it a perfect family-friendly outing.

The opening ceremony – which occurred this past Saturday, May 18 – started with welcoming remarks and speeches by:

Pauline Huang , President of the Globe Federation of Chinese Business Women (GFBW) in Orlando

Charles Chou , Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Miami

Mayra Uribe , Commissioner for Orange County District 3, who also presented a certificate of recognition to Chen for LuminoCity's commitment to advance entertainment in the community and boost the local economy

Staten Islanders… get ready for some ferocious fun! LuminoCity Festival’s Dino Safari , an outdoor event highlighted by dozens of glowing dinosaurs, is roaring into New Jersey and New York this summer! 

Dino Safari will transform New Jersey’s Rockaway Town Square into a mesmerizing, prehistoric wonderland of light and imagination. An exciting evolution of the LuminoCity experience, the event runs daily, now through July 9, 2023.

“We are thrilled to bring the extraordinary Dino Safari experience to the vibrant heart of New Jersey’s Town Square, providing residents and visitors with a fresh, exciting take on summer festivities,” founder Xiaoyi Chen said.

The event is also scheduled to come to Long Island’s Walt Whitman Shops, July 27 – Sept. 4. Here, LuminoCity is adding a rare prehistoric animal section, which will include about 20 animals, including marine life. 

What to Expect at LuminoCity Festival’s Dino Safari

The centerpiece of the event is a field of approximately 50 life-sized animated dinosaurs, from the cunning Oviraptor to the formidable Triceratops, the soaring Pterosaur, even a towering 45-foot Brachiosaurus!

The dinos will look especially realistic with special effects including jaws that open and close to roar and heads and tails that sway. Visitors can hear them breathe and see their eyes blink open and close. The Pterosaur’s wings even flutter in the breeze!

To experience the full scope of the festival–lights and all–plan a visit at night. At dusk, the amazing dinosaurs glow in beautiful colors, transforming into an animated field of time and illumination that will impress dino fans of all ages.

Free On-Site Attractions: Kids will love digging for relics in the Fossil Field Sandbox. Also, families can relax on Dino Bone Chairs and take photos at the Dino Photo Booths. 

Dinosaur Speedway Adventure: Compete with friends and family in a Dino-themed race around a prehistoric track. (Extra fee: $5 per ride)

Dino Paradise Bounce Castle: Kids and kids-at-heart can jump, bounce and have fun in a 260-foot bounce castle. (Extra fee: $18)

Caterpillar Express Train: Choo Choo! Hop aboard this fun train ride and enjoy an exciting journey around Dinosaur Dream Island . (Extra fee: $10 per ride)

Can’t get enough of dinosaurs? There’s some fierce news in Nassau County that kids of all ages will love: Two new dinosaurs at the Center for Science in Rockville Centre are now on view and ready to meet everyone!

What You Need to Know About Visiting LuminoCity Festival’s Dino Safari

Where is the luminocity festival’s dino safari located.

There are two nearby locations for the festival: One in New Jersey and one in New York. 

In New Jersey, the festival is at Rockaway Town Square, 301 Mt. Hope Ave., Rockaway Twp . It is also scheduled to be in New York at the Walt Whitman Shops, 160 Walt Whitman Rd., Huntington Station . 

When is the Dino Safari festival?

The festival in New Jersey is open daily, now through July 27, 4-10pm.

The festival in New York will be open daily, July 9-Sept. 4, 4-10pm. 

How much are tickets?

Daytime tickets, 4-7pm, Sunday-Friday: $22.98; Saturday, $24.98

Night-time tickets: 7-10pm, Sunday-Friday, $26.98; Saturday, $28.98

Admission is free for children ages 3 and younger. (Note: There are separate prices for amusement activity tickets: The Dino Speedway, Caterpillar Express and Dinosaur Paradise Bounce). 

What time of day is best to see the dinosaurs?

Any time! But if you want to see the dinosaurs be illuminated, it’s best to purchase night-time tickets.

Is parking free at the venues?

White nights festival - russia's biggest celebration.

World festivals mark global events that are a must-see for any dedicated traveler. Although lesser known than major global favorites like Carnival or Burning Man , the White Nights Festival in Russia is a collision of culture, arts and music that provides one of the richest experience around.

Every May through July, the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia, come alive with colorful celebrations and performances by some of the world's most talented artists. The White Nights Festival is an international arts festival that takes place during the season of the midnight sun, when the Northern Light shines at both dawn and dusk, allowing the millions of festival-goers that visit each year the opportunity to celebrate all day and all night long.

A Cultural Celebration of Music and Arts

The festival celebrates the arts of opera, ballet, and classical music and is kicked off with the "Stars of the White Nights" at the world famous Mariinsky Theatre. The program presents the company's most exceptional productions, with performances by leading Russian and international artists, and combines famous historical productions along with new premieres and contemporary pieces. This year's program kicks off on May 27th and has featured nationally renowned productions like Swan Lake in the past. During the festival there are daily evening performances of either ballet or opera at the theatre and classical or opera musical performances at the Mariinsky Concert Hall. The series of performances always features some of the biggest names in the arts world, including famed Spanish tenor Placido Domingo, Russian operatic soprano Anna Netrebko , and Los Angeles Opera conductor James Conlon. Ballet performances have included revivals of Russian choreographer George Balanchine's classics, as well as contemporary dance versions of The Nutcracker and Cinderella. The performances are all widely attended and visitors' best bet would be to purchase tickets online in advance.

Carnivals - Fun for the Whole Family

Carnivals also occur during the White Nights Festival and allow both children and adults to delight in traditional games and fine food. The largest carnival is held in the suburb of Peterhof, where historical figures and events are reinterpreted by costumed actors. Carnivals at the Catherine Palace and in the Pavlovsk suburb of St. Petersburg are also known for their highly artistic reproductions of the historic events that took place at those palaces. For music lovers, St. Petersburg's Palace Square becomes home to some of the international music world's biggest stars during the festival. The large square has been used for official military parades and massive demonstrations, and has also been the site of recent concerts by legendary musicians like Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones.

Fireworks and Finales

The culminating event of the festival is the Scarlet Sails celebration, which is a massive event to celebrate the end of the school year that is known for its spectacular fireworks display and a water show that features boats full of pirates battling on the Neva River. Musical acts and motorboat and rowing races are also highlights of the celebration. The tradition began in St. Petersburg after the end of WWII, when several schools in Leningrad united to celebrate the ending of a school year in connection with symbolism of the popular children's book "Scarlet Sails" by Alexander Grin. At the first celebration a boat with scarlet sails sailed along the English Embankment and the Admiralty Embankment towards the Winter Palace.
