$UICIDEBOY$

Grey day 2024, with special guests denzel curry, pouya, haarper, shakewell + ekkstacy.

ABOUT $UICIDEBOY$:

$uicideboy$ draws light from the deepest corners of darkness, addiction, hopelessness, and pain. The New Orleans-bred duo of cousins—Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petroua.k.a. Ruby da Cherry—translate a fight against demons into a clever, caustic, and corrosively catchy apocalyptic vision of hip-hop pierced with punk intensity and laced with Southern flows.

The world was first introduced to $uicideboy$ in 2014. Since then, as trailblazers of trap-metal and punk-rap, they have amassed over 24 billion collective streams, securing their position among the Top 100 Most Streamed Artists Of All Time. Their numerous projects have earned multiple RIAA certifications and debuts among the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Some accomplishments include the platinum-certified “...And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around” and gold-certified tracks such as “Carrollton,” “2nd Hand,” “Runnin’ Thru The 7th With My Woadies,” “Paris,” and “Kill Yourself (Part III).”

Moreover, their annual Grey Day Tour, which started in 2019, has emerged as a standout and one of the largest summer tours, uniting rap and hardcore genres, playing in arenas and amphitheaters worldwide. According to Billboard Magazine, this tour has landed $uicideboy$ in the Top 20 rankings of highest-grossing hip-hop touring acts of all time.

In addition to accolades from Billboard, XXL, Revolver, Alternative Press, Complex, and others, they have established their label G*59Record$ as a hub for independent talent, boasting artists like Night Lovell, Germ, Shakewell, Ramirez, and more.

One look at the underground rap duo known as Suicideboys (styled $UICIDEBOY$) and you won’t’ be surprised that they’re from New Orleans.

Just check out their whole vibe, from horror movie imagery to deep occult symbolism, and you can easily imagine this act emerging from the dark corners of the Big Easy’s old school voodoo traditions.

Looking at Suicideboys’ full catalog of hundreds of releases over a seven-year period, not to mention their side projects, guest appearances, alter egos, more collaborations and singles, is all it takes to understand the band’s incredible output.

When you ask fans what all the buzz is about, you’ll hear a lot of answers. The dark imagery and stark nature of their lyrics hits home with lots of people struggling with demons. The make-it-happen roots of Suicideboys’ story makes their art feel authentic and uncut compared to flashier pop acts.

Plus, there’s no denying that this pair are serious sonic explorers, and hip hop is far from the only influence on their relentlessly bass-heavy explorations of the depth of the soul. From heavy beats to ethereal atmospherics, these cousins weave soundscapes which captivate the imagination and inspire fans everywhere.

Starting out as family – Scrim (styled $crim) and Ruby da Cherry are cousins – the Suicideboys were always tight on a personal level. Their mutual love for music helped carry them through the development of their careers.

Having to work different jobs as they leveled up their DJing skills, both explored other genres on the way to their hip hop fame. Punk rock played a huge role in Ruby da Cherry’s musical evolution, while Scrim got into some serious singer/songwriter work even as he continued to practice DJing.

Once the pair got going together, they went big. Suicideboys started recording and self-releasing tracks back in 2014 with the EP Kill Yourself Part I: The $uicide $aga, debuting on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. This project blew up bigger than anybody could imagine, with at least nineteen sequel EP’s in the $uicide $aga series to date. But their big underground breakthrough was with 2015’s $outh $ide $uicide,” a collaboration with rapper Pouya.

That EP put Suicideboys on the map, paving the way for more. Their next big collab, Radical $uicide, with EDM superstar producer Getter, climbed into the top 20 on the Billboard rap charts. In 2018, after already releasing dozens of albums worth of tracks, Suicideboys released their first official full-length album I Want to Die in New Orleans. With this one, they broke into the Billboard 200, peaking at number nine while still working under their own record label imprint, G*59.

In 2019, the cousins got serious on the road, embarking on their first nationwide tour. The Grey Day Tour included guests like Trash Talk and Pouya and only increased their following.

After taking a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, $uicideboy$ broke through in 2021 with a second full length album. Long Term Effects of Suffering was another big hit with their fans, peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 charts and number two on the Top Rap Albums charts, and number one on the Indie charts. Also in 2021, the duo hit its first certified platinum single with “...And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around.” A second Grey Day Tour followed in 2021 with fellow artists from their G*59 label.

Now fully back up and running, $uicideboy$ resumed its relentless output. In 2022, they released their third full length record, Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation which debuted at the top of the Billboard Rap charts. This album had more hints of positivity than the band’s previous work, possibly signaling another evolution in the duo’s career.

In 2022, $uicideboy$ was one of the featured headliners at the Quebec City Summer Festival alongside heavyweights like Alanis Morissette, Maroon 5, and Luke Combs. High profile stints like this prove they’ve come a long way from the underground scene.

Live reviews

When $uicide Boy$ came to the Historic El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico, no one was ready for it unless they of course went to their last show at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico "South Side Suicide". Show was so good people left and right were literally passing out and when it was over people were so satisfied and so worn out, they didn't ask for an encore. This was also a rare opportunity because whenever any good rap/hip hop artist come out here (excluding Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, ASAP Rocky, any other trash artist) they usually go to the Sunshine Theater (Albuquerque, New Mexico) or Launchpad (Albuquerque, New Mexico) and The Historic El Rey Theater is the largest indoor theater that ABQ has to offer and the owner is strict to only allow EDM type music to perform. The Historic El Rey Theater should allow more good rap/hip hop artist to perform there. $uicide Boy$ will always be good. Only thing to complain about them? The fact that we had to wait an hour and a half PAST opening time for them to start the show not including the extra thirty minutes for opener to start.

The venue was easy to find with great facilities. The show itself I was very excited for and expecting held up. The speakers and lights created an awesome environment.

Some more detailed information could have been provided on webpages prior to concert rather than finding out on the day about who the pre acts would be. The information I read said that “DJ Meth” would start his performance at 8:30 and he didn’t start until 8:45 which was disappointing.

I haven't been to a lot of concerts (3 including $uicideboy$) and they hands down are my favorite. I saw them on tour with Ski Mask The Slump God and $not. Their love for their fans is indescribable and the whole vibe they had at the show was amazing. They played new songs, old songs, and even niche ones. I can't wait to see them live again. I 100% recommend any fan to see them live no matter how many songs you know.

$uicideboy$ always has the greatest shows, and this one was no exception. They are high energy and overall amazing. The vocals from the two are unmatched, and they are the BEST artists that I have ever heard. It was through one of their concerts that I became a die-hard fan, and continuing to go to their concerts is one of the greatest experiences one could ask for.

Best concert I've been to so far! Definitely going to see them again when they come back to Canada! The mosh pit was so insane that a bunch of seats got broken, the crowd was great always picked you up immediately if you fell down, and of course seeing Scrim, Ruby, and CrystalMeth was fucking amazing!!!

The concert was absolutely amazing!

I had so much fun at the concert and the atmosphere was insane.

Being a huge fan of Suicideboys i had to get the tickets as soon as they released and they were so good live.

If they ever return to England I’ll certai be going to watch it!

Concert was awesome. People were already trying to mosh to the funk music playing in the background. Only thing is it took forever for the actual show to start... guess that’s what happens when the fan base is full of 16 year old hypebeasts. That said, it was worth it.

mimixkiki’s profile image

One of the best if not the best Concert I've ever been to. Basically 2 hours of constant moshpits and the best songs in their discography all in a Sold Out Show. Ruby and Scrim looked like they had a lot of fun and interacted with the crowd in a lot of ways

danielrs2000’s profile image

$uicideboy$ announce 40 date 2023 North American tour

Support acts include Ghostemane, City Morgue, Freddie Dredd, Sematary & Ramirez

G59 Record$ and New Orleans duo $uicideboy$ have announced their annual Grey Day Tour for 2023, which will include over 40 shows across the country. The tour starts on August 25th at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, AL and will feature performances at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York, and wrap at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver. Support acts will include Ghostemane, City Morgue, Freddie Dredd on select dates, Sematary and Ramirez.

Ticket pre-sales will start on May 18th at 10 am local time with the general on-sale happening on May 19th at 10 am local time.

This month, the $uicideboy$ are releasing the Yin Yang Tapes , their four-part conceptual EP series. Each Friday in May, a new four-song EP named after one of the four seasons (spring, summer, fall and winter) will be unveiled. Notably, the Yin Yang Tapes feature guest appearances from Ghostemane (“Bloody 98”) and Freddie Dredd (“Provolone & Heroin”), marking the first time non-G59 artists have appeared on a $uicideboy$ track in over three years. Tracks from the EPs including “Hot Razer,” “Realism VS Idealism,” and “Bloody 98” have landed on Spotify’s Top 10 US Song Chart.

Accompanying the music releases is a Japan-inspired animated video series by Tristan Zammit, who has previously worked with Metallica, XXXTentacion, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice Wrld, and others. The visuals serve as music videos featuring Wetto and Blanco, $uicideboy$-inspired characters existing in a macabre occultist reality set in a barren and abandoned post apocalyptic New Orleans. The first animated music video, entitled “Hot Razor,” is on the $uicideboy$ YouTube channel.

$uicideboy$ are among the Top 100 highest-streaming artists of all time, according to ChartMasters. Their most-streamed track on Spotify has amassed over 500 million streams, while their two top-performing albums, I Want To Die In New Orleans and My Liver Will Handle What My Heart Can’t , have accumulated over 1.2 billion streams on the platform. These new tour dates come after a highly successful Grey Day Tour in 2022 took the group to arenas and amphitheaters across the US and Europe, followed by their first appearance as a top-billed act at the 2023 Coachella Music Festival.

$uicideboy$ - Grey Day Tour 2024

$uicideboy$ draws light from the deepest corners of darkness, addiction, hopelessness, and pain.

The New Orleans-bred duo of cousins–Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petrou a.k.a. Ruby da Cherry–translate a fight against demons into a clever, caustic, and corrosively catchy apocalyptic vision of hip-hop pierced with punk intensity and laced with Southern flows.

Some accomplishments include the platinum-certified “…And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around” and gold-certified tracks such as “Carrollton,” “2nd Hand,” “Runnin’ Thru The 7th With My Woadies,” “Paris,” and “Kill Yourself (Part III).”

In addition to accolades from Billboard, XXL, Revolver, Alternative Press, Complex, and others, they have established their label G*59 Record$ as a hub for independent talent, boasting artists like Night Lovell, Germ, Shakewell, Ramirez, and more. In 2024, they will unveil their latest full-length album, “New World Depression,” and launch another global Grey Day Tour.

One year later, why haven’t PGA Tour and the Saudis completed a deal?

Despite a year of talks between the PGA Tour and the Saudis, the future of professional golf is hardly any clearer.

$uicideboy$ tour washington

With virtually no warning of the pending earthquake, the golf world tuned in for the shocking sight of two combatants seated amicably side-by-side in a New York cable news studio.

“I think today is a historical day for the PGA Tour and the game of golf,” PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan declared at the outset of a CNBC interview June 6, 2023. “… What we’re talking about today is coming together to unify the game of golf.”

Vague details unspooled about the pending partnership between the tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which had launched the rival LIV Golf operation, before the CNBC host asked PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan , “How much more time to get to the definitive agreement?”

“I think it’s a matter of weeks,” he said.

One year later, professional golf is still bitterly divided. Television ratings many weeks are down. There has been no merger and no partnership. The PGA Tour and LIV Golf continue to operate independently. The best players on the planet get together just four times per year . And there has been no infusion of Saudi oil money to help reshape or bolster the PGA Tour.

That announcement was supposed to be a monumental day for the sport . Instead of providing closure to a tumultuous chapter, it bred more chaos and questions.

The deal is not dead, according to people close to the situation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to be candid about the negotiations, and Monahan and Al-Rumayyan have been in regular contact in recent weeks. The two were scheduled to meet Friday in New York to continue talks, according to one person familiar with the plans. The New York Times first reported the pending meeting and said it will include Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

But while the sides continue to talk, no one seems certain whether they will be able to iron out the wrinkles — or whether a deal would ultimately return professional golf to solid footing.

“Obviously, a year later you would have thought we had a bit more clarity on that,” Canadian golfer Mackenzie Hughes said last week. “There’s not really much there. I think eventually when we get through this situation, I think golf will be in a great spot still. But there’s a lot of hurdles to get over right now.”

While neither PGA Tour nor PIF officials would publicly comment on where things stand one year later, several people familiar with the talks say meaningful progress is still being made. But it is clear the controversial pact was more complicated than anyone anticipated, with many of the same questions and hurdles that Monahan and Al-Rumayyan sidestepped last year still looming.

What is taking so long?

Following the initial announcement, talks were instantly delayed by a congressional inquiry and the specter of a Justice Department investigation. Plus, the PGA Tour had to do cleanup with its members, who were incensed at being kept in the dark, and Monahan took medical leave for five weeks to deal with anxiety related to the situation.

Talks were slow to heat up, and when LIV poached star Jon Rahm in December, relations between the sides appeared frayed. Even with a Dec. 31 deadline, there was little meaningful progress. They agreed to keep negotiating past that deadline as PGA Tour players took on more control, installing Woods on the tour’s influential policy board.

But Woods and the other player directors didn’t meet face-to-face with Al-Rumayyan until March, when the sides convened in the Bahamas. Woods and Al-Rumayyan played a round of golf together, and Woods later called it “a very positive meeting.”

Following a minority investment of at least $1.5 billion from a consortium of pro sports owners , the tour formally created a new entity to oversee its commercial interests — PGA Tour Enterprises — and that company’s board formed a subcommittee to negotiate with the PIF.

The new entity effectively sidelined some of the early negotiators, including policy board member Jimmy Dunne, who first reached out to Al-Rumayyan in 2023 and helped broker the initial framework agreement. After he was left off the new company’s board and the negotiating subcommittee, Dunne stepped down from the tour’s policy board last month, saying in his resignation letter that “no meaningful progress has been made toward a transaction with the PIF.”

But others say work is being done behind the scenes, even if the steps are slow and deliberate. In the past couple of months, the sides have shared pitch decks and exchanged term sheets of what a final deal might look like, according to two people familiar with the talks.

“Things are actually moving positively from both sides,” Jordan Spieth, a member of the PGA Tour Enterprises board, said recently. “… From what I do know, it’s cordial, there’s open dialogue, and it’s moving along at the pace that it’s moving along. And anything else that’s said about it is just, I just know to be false. So I’m very optimistic.”

What are the hurdles?

The sides are largely discussing the same issues they promised to solve a year ago. The tour’s membership has not always been unified on the best course of action or even what an acceptable resolution would be.

“I think there’s a lot of things people don’t realize that need to occur for things to go back together, for everyone to sort of shake hands and move along,” PGA Tour golfer Xander Schauffele said this week.

The PGA Tour wants to settle on a financially viable path while expanding its reach. But it doesn’t yet know how it would welcome LIV golfers back into PGA Tour events. The PIF, meanwhile, always sought a seat at the table, but it’s not keen to simply write a blank check; Saudi officials expect a return on any investment.

The tour doesn’t plan to use new money on tournament purses or to bolster existing operations; it is trying to identify sources of revenue and expansion, which could include purchasing new properties, leveraging media rights or delving into untapped markets.

The Saudis haven’t always shown the same sense of urgency at the negotiating table. They aren’t eager to give up on LIV altogether, and the tour doesn’t want to compete head-to-head with a deep-pocketed rival. But both sides are interested in growing the game globally and finding ways the PGA Tour can coexist with a complementary circuit, probably one that is team-based, is internationally focused and has a competition calendar that doesn’t conflict with tour events.

Even if they can sort through that, the Justice Department could still have final say on whether any deal passes muster and doesn’t violate federal antitrust laws.

Who is at the negotiating table?

The June 6 announcement resulted in no shortage of mistrust and division among the PGA Tour ranks. Monahan survived the tumult, but the balance of power shifted.

McIlroy, the face of the tour’s battle before June 6, resigned from the tour’s policy board in November. An effort to return him to the board was scuttled last month, with McIlroy saying, “There was a subset of people on the board that were maybe uncomfortable with me coming back.”

He was ultimately included on the negotiating subcommittee but clearly has some different ideas than Woods and Patrick Cantlay, another influential member of the PGA Tour Enterprises board.

“It’s good to see it differently,” Woods said during the PGA Championship last month, “but collectively as a whole we want to see whatever’s best for all the players, the fans and the state of golf. How we get there, that’s to be determined.”

The other members of the negotiating subcommittee are Monahan; golfer Adam Scott; Joe Gorder, chair of the new board; Joe Ogilvie, a retired golfer; and John Henry, principal owner of Fenway Sports Group.

What is the status of LIV Golf?

LIV Golf never altered its plans and continued entering into multiyear contracts with players, courses, sponsors and vendors that should ensure its existence through at least 2025. The organization now has more than 200 employees and is soon moving into new office spaces in New York and London.

The product has been slow to catch on domestically, but LIV officials are buoyed by recent corporate partners and some of the response they have received overseas.

If there is not progress on the PIF-PGA Tour negotiations in the next four months, the stage could be set for an offseason in which LIV moves even more aggressively to sign some of the tour’s biggest names.

In short, LIV is not operating like a business preparing to close up shop anytime soon.

What about the concerns over human rights violations?

For all the rhetoric from tour officials over Saudi Arabia’s human rights record when LIV began play June 2022, those concerns have largely faded into the background — at least for many of the game’s stakeholders. Ogilvie, the former pro golfer who serves as “liaison director” on the PGA Tour Enterprises board and is also on the negotiating subcommittee, recently told Eamon Lynch , the Golf Channel host and Golfweek columnist:

“Look, it’s a very messy world. You hope things evolve, that society has by any measure gotten better. It’s better now than it was 10 years ago. It was better 10 years ago than it was 20 years ago. And I’m assuming it will be better 10 years from now. You can’t paralyze yourself. You can’t expect perfection. You just want things to evolve in a better way. And I think that’s obviously what the kingdom wants to do.”

Why does the PGA Tour still want the Saudi investment?

While the PGA Tour has taken on the $1.5 billion investment from Strategic Sports Group , there are still questions about the viability of its business model, especially as it shifts its core operations from a nonprofit organization to a commercial entity and launches a player equity program. The tour has asked its local tournament directors to start kicking in more money and has fielded questions from key sponsors about the future of the game.

Tour officials have said that even if LIV Golf lags far behind in spectator interest, it will continue to pose an existential threat because it can pick off tour players and leave the PGA Tour with a watered-down product.

Notably, a PIF investment would be worth significantly more than whatever the Saudis put in. The SSG investors are expected to raise their commitment as high as $3 billion if the PIF ultimately signs on.

What happens if the deal falls through?

The professional golf war would enter a new phase, and no one around the game — particularly those at PGA Tour headquarters — is eager to see how that would play out. The PIF could keep putting money behind LIV, and even if fan interest in LIV remains tepid, it could be devastating to the tour’s product and its bottom line.

One bright side of the initial framework agreement: It called for an immediate end to the litigation that had consumed both sides. Tour officials have said their legal costs had reached the neighborhood of $50 million, and they were happy to see the cases dismissed last June .

What is the possible timeline for a final deal?

The PGA Tour can’t wait forever and is eager to start making strategic steps with the money it has on hand. That said, the potential PIF investment could be transformational, adding billions to the tour’s coffers, so officials remain hopeful. They surely don’t want to enter into an offseason bidding war with LIV, so this summer looks to be a pivotal period for negotiations.

If the sides do agree to terms, it probably would trigger a federal review, which could take several weeks or months. If the Justice Department feels competition is stifled or the consumer is somehow harmed, the whole deal could be rejected and the golf world would revert to its pre-June 6 state.
