If you’re looking for a truly unique way to enjoy the wine region of Niagara Falls, this tour is for you! Enjoy an in-depth and indulgent introduction to the esteemed Niagara wine region on this private tour in a classic London black cab . Meet your guide at your Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake hotel, hop aboard your vehicle for the day, and head out to try some of Ontario’s best wines. You’ll get an introduction to winemaking and will enjoy a tutored tasting. Following a multi-course lunch at a gourmet restaurant, or an outside picnic lunch (weather dependent), venture to four other wineries to sample numerous other varietals.

I have done several wine tours and this was by FAR the greatest one. Tom, our driver, was very knowledgeable of the area, took us to see beautiful sites when we had extra time between wineries and took wonderful care of us! The novelty of touring around in the English can was totally worth it – so fun! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves NOTL or is looking to experience it for the first time! How to spend a weekend exploring everything that’s new in Niagara Parks

How to spend a weekend exploring everything that's new in Niagara Parks

T his summer, if you find yourself with a weekend that hasn’t already been designated for the cottage or a patio sesh with friends, consider it a perfect opportunity to take a road trip to the Niagara region—home, of course, to the eponymous Falls, an awe-inspiring natural wonder and one of the most iconic Canadian views out there.

But there’s so much more to this region than the star attraction. Niagara Parks has a slew of experiences to offer—many of which are brand new this year—and two days is the perfect amount of time to hit some highlights.

Whether you’re a long-time local or just visiting Ontario, our suggested itinerary will ensure you fit in the must-dos.

Get up close and personal with the Falls, take in some fascinating history and have a floral encounter.

Start with the area’s biggest draw: Niagara Falls. One of the best ways to experience this marvel of nature is to visit Niagara Parks’ classic Journey Behind the Falls attraction.

Here, you’ll travel down 125 feet by elevator to access the lower viewing platform that offers arguably one of the best possible views (unless you’re a bird). You can also go directly behind the Falls and look through a viewing portal at the water—a mind-boggling 154 million litres per minute—thundering down.

Nearby is the Niagara Parks Power Station + Tunnel, a preserved historic power station that was built in 1905 and now features immersive exhibits, interesting artifacts and interactive storytelling.

A visit to the power station wouldn’t be complete without exploring the station’s original tailrace tunnel; opened to the public for the first time in 2022, it allows visitors to retrace the path that water took here for over a century. When you emerge from the Tunnel, you’re met with a spectacular view of the Falls.

New this year, Niagara Parks has introduced a bilingual audio tour included with general admission. As you walk through the generator hall, forebay and Tunnel, uncover fascinating historical narratives from former employees, technical details and captivating stories from the archives. Another new addition here are two new Tesla Coil exhibits, installations that allows you to actually see and feel electricity.

Because the view of the Falls never gets old, the patio at Table Rock Bistro + Wine Bar is the ideal spot for lunch; it’s actually the closest patio available to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

With a focus on Niagara-based wine, craft beer and craft spirits—all things the area is known for—as well as locally sourced ingredients, this bistro offers elevated casual fare with international influences.

Long known for its spectacular indoor floral displays, the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse has added an outdoor element this year, a new Mosaϊculture horticultural exhibit called Whimsical Creatures . Featuring installations of large-scale topiary-like sculptures created using thousands of plants and plant material, a stroll here will make you feel like you’re walking through a fairy tale.

Come nightfall, head back to the power station for some “light” entertainment. The nightly Currents show tells the incredible story of the power station through an impressive display of lights and sound.

New this year, the Tunnel has been lined with colourful illumination at night, and when you emerge onto the viewing platform, you’re greeted with a view of the lit-up Falls. It’s also the best spot to take in the nightly fireworks display during the summer months.

Then, head to Journey Behind the Falls , a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get up close to the Falls. Covered in a poncho – yes, you will be in the splash zone! – you’ll descend down behind the Falls via elevator. Then you’ll walk through 130-year-old tunnels, where you’ll learn about the geology of the Gorge and Falls, as well as Indigenous connections and the origins of tourism in the area. Your walk will end at a viewing platform just beside the thundering water.

Take a short stroll to Queen Victoria Place Restaurant . If the weather is right, opt for a table on the expansive patio, which overlooks both the American and Horseshoe Falls. Niagara-born and -trained chef Matt Hemmingsen has created a menu that puts local ingredients front and centre. The Three Sisters Smoked Trout Cakes, for instance, features local vegetables grown using traditional Indigenous companion planting, and you can enjoy a tasting flight of local craft brews, including the Table Rock 1885 ale from the Niagara College Teaching Brewery.

It’s time to hop in the car or on the WEGO bus service and take a scenic drive along the Niagara Parkway, following the Niagara River north, for a taste of the area’s beautiful nature.

Make today’s first stop a ride on the historic Whirlpool Aero Car , which has been giving guests a bird’s-eye view of the Niagara Gorge since 1916. Have your camera ready to capture shots of the swirling teal-coloured waters below as the cable car slowly traverses 3,500 feet across the gorge.

Don’t miss White Water Walk , a boardwalk trail along the Niagara River that allows you to get as close to the Class VI rapids as possible. Prepare to be totally awed by their sheer power and speed.

A wonderful (and free!) new way to connect with nature is through the Rekindling All Our Relations self-guided audio tour of the Niagara Glen. Curated and produced by Indigenous community member Michele-Elise Burnett, it offers Indigenous stories, teachings and wisdom at 10 different spots as you follow a trail through the incredible Niagara Glen Nature Reserve.

“It’s a unique immersive Indigenous experience, and you’re guided [with] sights, sound and music,” says Burnett. “It’s sort of like theatre of the mind.” While she says that everyone will come away with something different, there is an underlying message.

“People have forgotten our original instructions from the creator, and that is to live in peace and harmony and have a reciprocal, symbiotic relationship with one another,” she explains. “But greed and envy and fear came into us and we disconnect from our relatives of the natural world—whether it be the birds, the trees, the water, the squirrels—so this is a journey for us to reconnect, reflect and act on the messages being given to us.”

Finish your day with a meal at the Whirlpool Pub + Lounge , a recently refreshed restaurant with panoramic views of the Niagara Parkway (famously described by Winston Churchill as “the prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world”). On offer is pub-style cuisine, local VQA wines and Ontario craft beers.

For the best way to experience all this region (while also saving money!) make sure you get the Niagara Parks Adventure Pass Plus . It includes admission to all of the attractions in this itinerary, transport on the Falls Incline Railway and the WEGO bus service, plus discounts and coupons you can use at various Niagara Parks locations.

They helped me get me, my mom, and boyfriend's Chinese visa approved with very little hassle. Their charge is very reasonable. I got mines done years ago but my mom and boyfriend just got it done this year for $330 for a 10 year visa. The current application price for Chinese visa is $185 thus they are not charging much for their services. I use to get it done on my own and it is not worth all the hassle. I will continue to use them each time I need to get my Chinese visa renewed.

For people who have never been on a Chinese tour this is what you should know. * What you pay up-first doesn't cover tip/gratuity for the tour guide or the driver, or the attractions that the tour includes, and food. It only covers transportation and hotel. I paid $8 per day for the driver and tour guide. * I am sure the tour company receives a group rate for the tickets for the attraction, but they will charge you full price for the attractions. * You will stay at each attraction for a short period of time and will have to rush through the attractions. * Most of the time they will take you to a buffet or fast food restaurant for meals. * Most of the time you will stay in a motel or an inn and you will check in really late at night and check out really early in the morning. If you are willing to accept this, then book with them. I went on the 4-Day Tennessee, Smoky Mountain Tour with my family. My family wanted to go on this tour and since the promotion is buy 2 get 1 free, then my sister and I got dragged a long. First we met up in Flushing in front of the HSBC bank and took a shuttle bus to Chinatown. Then in Chinatown, we had to find the bus that was going to the trip that we had reserved. We were able to find our tour guide right away. Tour guide I feel a tour guide could make or break the trip. Our tour guide was named Leo Wang. He was amazing and was able to speak Mandarin and English. Leo was sincere and you could tell he tries really hard to do his job. Throughout the trip he gave us a lot of the history of the attractions we were going to. He also gave us trivia questions to answer throughout the trip that made it fun. When needed, Leo was able to answer our questions and help us when needed. There was a family who often came back to the bus later than the time that was assigned and he never became upset because of it. He is one of the best tour guides that I ever had. Attractions We went to about 2 to 3 attractions a day and we spent about a hour and a half or less at each attraction. You need to ensure that you time yourself to ensure that you have enough time to do everything and return to the bus on time. Overall, I would recommend this tour company to families with members who do not understand English and would need a tour guide to speak in Chinese to them and explain everything to them. It is also great for people who want to travel to different states in one trip. We went to 8 different states in the 4 days.

This was a 2 day trip to Longwood Garden, Amish Farm & Hershey Park. Our tour guide was named Snail- she was very informative & kind. The hotel was clean & tidy. Overall a great trip.

This is a very belated review. Took a trip to Canada a while back and it was horrible from beginning to end. There was a delay in getting out of Chinatown. The bus we were in had air condition problems 1 hour into the start of the trip. AC did not work which prompted the driver to open the emergency exits on top of the bus to get air. Mind you it was in the high 80s during the summer. Someone finally fixed the AC only to have it broken again a day later. The third day of our trip, the bus breaks down completely and we had to wait 8 hours for another bus to come and save us. So they pretty much put us on a broken bus from the getgo. The last day, one of the guests had an argument with the guide and driver because the guest wanted a refund or some sort of compensation for the very unenjoyable trip which almost escalated to a fist fight. The trip wasn't cheap either with all of the mandatory fees that came with it. We should've drove. Never again.

Niagara Parks to Take Over Operation of the WEGO Blue Line

July 11, 2024

Niagara Parks

  • Niagara Parks will operate the WEGO Blue Line on a trial basis beginning September 3, 2024
  • The WEGO Blue Line connects guests and residents to key tourism areas such as the Fallsview Tourism District and Clifton Hill, along with a number of top hotels and attractions
  • Niagara Parks will continue to operate the WEGO Green Line

Niagara Falls, ON – Effective September 3, 2024, Niagara Parks will be taking over the operation of the WEGO Blue Line, continuing to provide visitors and local residents with an integrated visitor transportation system in Niagara Falls. The announcement was made by Niagara Parks Chair Bob Gale at the Commission’s July 11 public meeting held at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture.

Since 2012, Niagara Parks and the City of Niagara Falls have jointly operated the WEGO Bus System, providing three unique routes that connect visitors and local residents to key tourism areas across Niagara Falls – the Blue, Red and Green WEGO Lines. Previously, the City of Niagara Falls operated the WEGO Blue and Red Lines and Niagara Parks operated the Green Line, which runs along the Niagara Parkway from Rapidsview Parking Lot to the Floral Clock with a shuttle connection to Niagara-on-the-Lake. The current agreement for the joint operation of the WEGO Bus System expires in August 2024.

Effective September 3, 2024, the Niagara Transit Commission will continue to operate all municipal bus routes, including a new City route to replace the WEGO Red Line, within the City of Niagara Falls. In addition to the Green Line, Niagara Parks will now operate the Blue Line, which connects guests to various tourist sites within the destination such as the Fallsview Tourism District and Clifton Hill, along with top hotels and attractions.

Niagara Parks will operate the WEGO Blue Line year-round on a two-year trial basis while concurrently exploring options for what the next phase of visitor transportation could look like within Queen Victoria Park.

A year-round service schedule will be established with potential modifications to current routing and stops to ensure efficiency and the best possible guest experience. Additionally, Niagara Parks and the Niagara Transit Commission will determine a location for a central transfer hub for guests to provide seamless service between the various bus routes.

From now until Labour Day there will be no changes to the operation of the WEGO Bus Service throughout the destination. These changes will come into effect as of September 3, 2024, with the goal of continuing to provide a positive and seamless public transportation experience for both guests and local residents within the core tourism areas of Niagara Falls.

“Niagara Parks is proud to invest in this critical guest amenity that has connected both visitors and local residents to the key tourism areas across Niagara Falls for the past 12 years. We look forward to continuing to work closely with stakeholders and tourism operators throughout the destination including the Niagara Transit Commission and the Niagara Falls Canada Hotel Association, to provide the best possible experience for all,” said Niagara Parks Chair Bob Gale.

“WEGO service has been integral to the City of Niagara Falls’ economic success and visitor experience since 2012. As the Niagara Transit Commission gets ready to assume the Red Line and transition that to a local route in our system, we’re excited about continuing to partner with the Niagara Parks in assuming the Blue Line. We know riders rely on transit to make these vital links to tourism cores to work, play and live in Niagara everyday,” said Carla Stout, General Manager of the Niagara Transit Commission.
