Door County Trolley has been a staple in Door County, Wisconsin since May of 2000. It all started with AJ Frank, a home care nurse for 12 years in Milwaukee. In 1999 he went on vacation to Savannah, Georgia with his wife and newborn son. They took a tour and he thought to himself, “I can do this!” Upon returning to their home in Cedarburg, AJ and his wife Cheryl sold their house, quit their jobs, and moved their family to Door County, Wisconsin. He bought his first trolley and started offering Door County Trolley Tours.

Had a wonderful time with our friends on the tour! Enjoyed all of our visits to the wineries, distillery and cheese shop. A highlight of the tour was definitely the sleigh ride. Enjoyed our lunch at the beautiful English Inn. Our tour guide Henk was just a delight, with wonderful stories about the history of Door County and lots of greats spots to visit. We did this tour with a group of ten and had reserved online (highly recommended for a group). We did the murder and mayhem tour and it was fun and informative. The driver was engaging and he obviously knew a lot about the area, he had very good recommendations for places to eat or visit for the weekend. It a great way to see the area without having to battle the traffic.

Wow! What a fun night on the Ghost tour of Door County! Our trolley driver and tour guide, Ed, was such a spectacular storyteller and historian! I totally recommend this tour. Riding the Trolley: The trolley is an enclosed vehicle with both air conditioning and heat. The seat bottoms have cushions. The backs do not. About half way through the tour there is a restroom break at Hopelands Gardens and the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame & Museum. Water, but no other food or beverage, is allowed on the trolley. Pets are not allowed on the tour. Service animals only. Not recommended for small children due to the length of the tour.

Where and When: The Historic Aiken Trolley Tour departs the City of Aiken Visitors Center & Train Museum (406 Park Ave SE, Aiken), at 10 am each Saturday. Reservations are strongly encouraged, as tickets often sell out two to three weeks in advance.

Checking In: Please arrive for the trolley tour no later than 9:45 am (tickets can be resold to standby patrons if not claimed by 9:55 am). The Aiken Visitor Center and Train Museum opens at 9:00 am on Saturdays for ticket holders and may be toured prior to departure.

Refunds: Up to 1 day before event.

Handicap Accessibility: The trolley is equipped with a wheelchair lift. Use of a wheelchair requires extra loading time and takes up 2 spaces (one of which must be reserved manually by the trolley staff). There is no additional fee for the extra space. However, please notify staff of need by calling 803-293-7846 (Mon.– Sat., 9 am – 5 pm), so that we may properly prepare for your visit!

GROUP TOURS: If your group (15 or more people) is interested in a tour, please call 803-642-7650. Availability is VERY limited. Please call as far in advance as possible.

This is the best introduction to Cape May for first timers and also for those who haven’t been to Cape May in some time. Find the hidden gems and the little-known treasures of this glorious seaside town and learn about natural and cultural points of interest. HISTORIC DISTRICT TROLLEY TOUR

Known as the “Queen of the Seaside Resorts” for its quaint Victorian cottages and pristine beaches, Cape May is the oldest seaside resort in the country, and in 1976, the entire city was declared a National Historic Landmark. Possessing one of the country’s largest collections of 19th century seaside wood framed buildings, the historic district features a variety of styles of Victorian architecture. It’s beautiful. It’s charming. Wonderful tour guides will explain Cape May’s history and architecture and how and why it has survived and thrives to this day. This narrated tour travels through portions of Cape May’s historic district. Guides discuss the architecture and history of the area. Offered year-round either separately or as combo tours. CAPE MAY’S MARITIME TROLLEY TOUR

Whaling, wartime and wild weather. The remarkable maritime history of our seaside town has long defined the Cape May story. Board the trolley and rediscover the important places and natural phenomena that have shaped, literally and figuratively, the Cape May we know today. UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TROLLEY TOUR

Cape May was part of the Underground Railroad and this trolley tour tells of those dangerous days. Enslaved persons fled their chains in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia and braved strong currents and stormy seas, guided by the beacon at the Cape May Lighthouse. Hear how legendary anti-slavery fighter, Harriet Tubman, walked these streets, as did prominent railroad businessman and former slave, Stephen Smith, whose railroad cars carried hundreds to freedom. Begins and ends at Ocean Street Trolley Stop and travels through parts of Cape May and West Cape May, with stops along the way, including the Mt. Zion Cemetery. What was that shadow? Was it the undead of Cape May’s past wandering their beloved haunts? You might scoff, you might shudder, but rest assured: on board a trolley with an experienced guide you will begin to wonder what’s beyond when you hear the tales of hauntings unearthed in Cape May by renowned psychic medium and author Craig McManus. Cape May County vineyards are producing delicious wines and here is your chance to enjoy them with round-trip transportation via Cape May MAC trolley. Board the trolley at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., and travel to Pier House in Cape May for a delicious lunch. Then it’s back on board the trolley for an afternoon of touring and sampling wine selections by vintners at Jessie Creek Winery and Natali Vineyards. Guests will receive a tour, tasting and souvenir glass at Jessie Creek Winery and a tasting with cheese and crackers at Natali Vineyards. This event is for adults ages 21 and over.

STORIES OF CAPE ISLAND TROLLEY TOUR

Many stories of Cape Island and the surrounding area’s economy are in whaling and farming and while new industries have evolved since then, that heritage is celebrated today. Hear how whalers centuries ago eked out a dangerous but lucrative living near Town Bank and how the area’s rich farming heritage continues to be a source of tremendous community pride. Learn about the Union Bethel community in 1831 in which Black residents thrived and the diverse community that continues to contribute to the vibrancy of island life today. Begins and ends at Ocean Street Trolley Stop.

CHILDREN’S TROLLEY RIDE

Board MAC’s jolly red trolley for a guided tour of Cape May’s Historic District geared specially for 3 to 7 year olds. From gingerbread you can’t eat to witches’ caps on houses, kids will be fascinated by “show and tell” along the way. Trolley tours last about 30 minutes.

CAPE MAY BEER TRAILS

New for 2024!  Cape May County is home to a selection of fantastic breweries. Hop on a Cape May MAC trolley for visits to Cape May Brewing Co., Behr Brewing, and Gusto Brewing Co., for tasting flights of local beers. • 11 Dock Square : Pay-by-the-hour public parking is available in Dock Square, right behind Alisson’s Restaurant.
• Street Parking Limited street parking may be available within walking distance of the Trolley Stop. Try Chestnut Street, Pearl Street, or Green Street for potential spots.
