ITINERARY OF DALAT TOUR PACKAGE IN 3DAYS 2 NIGHTS

Day 1: the first sweet taste of dalat  .

Pick-up at the airport or bus station upon your request and experience the first sweet taste of Da Lat at Truc Lam Zen Monastery – The largest Zen Monastery of Vietnam to enjoy peaceful and poetic space of meditation realms. At Datanla waterfall, take thrilling alpine coaster (paid by yourself) or walk down to cool falls in jungle forest. Continuously transfer to Bao Dai summer Palace with the last king of the Nguyen Dynasty and Vietnamese history. Explore freely sparkling Da Lat night.

DAY 2: DISCOVER DALAT CITY, “A LITTLE PARIS” 

After breakfast, you can admire the beauty of the old French architecture at Dalat Railway Station which is the oldest and the most beautiful railway station in Indochina. Amaze at the admirable architecture of Linh Phuoc Pagoda was built from debris of glass, pottery and porcelain, and the unique Guan Yin statue by immortal flowers of Vietnam. Get a lot of nice photos in The City’s Flower Garden for a plentiful collection of flowers. Finally, the guide take you to Lat Village to understand the daily life of Lach ethnic minority people. Take the Jeep car (cost excluded) up to Langbiang mountain – the roof of Dalat (1950m high) to enjoy fantastic views of Silver Stream, Golden Lake, forest and whole Dalat city. On the way back to Dalat city, You will visit Strawberry farm and you can pick strawberry if you like. Enjoy Dalat food at night market for yourself.

DAY 3: KNOWN DALAT THROUGH FANTASTIC COUNTRYSIDE

Depart from Dalat on the pristine roads go to Van Thanh flower village. On the way you can visit: Elephant Waterfall – the most natural and majestic falls in Lam Dong, Cricket farm for enjoying fried criket, drink wine in Rice wine making farm, weasel coffee making and try this coffee, Vegetable and Flower Farms, Silk factory, Linh An Pagoda with the big Happy Buddha, Coffee Plantations. After get back dalat city, we transfer to Lam Dong Museum (Ethnic Minority Museum) as the best place for tourist understand the history of Lam Dong province and Dalat in the past, and the Palace of Nam Phuong Queen – The first wife of the last king in Viet Nam.

Because Dalat is located in the highlands of central Vietnam, it is a lot cooler than in the rest of the country. The French built their country retreats here to escape the hot summers in the city. And they are right. Not only is it nice and cool, there is also little traffic and a lot of beautiful things to see in the vicinity.

Frequently asked questions about Dalat tours

The best time to travel to Dalat is from November to March. Like other mountainous areas in Vietnam, Dalat has a dry and a rainy season. The rainy season runs from April to October. During the dry season you not only have more sun and nice temperatures, nature is also at its best, with flowers that bloom beautifully. In January, Dalat has a flower festival where you can see the local and Vietnamese flowers.

The highlight in Dalat is canyoning, which we highly recommend for any adventurer. You can also kayaking, rafting, mountain biking and various walking tours are possible.

Hiking up Lang Biang mountain is a highly recommended activity by many travellers from all over the world since this trail is very clean, peaceful and varied. Taking a short drive out of the city centre, through some winding roads and fields of flowers to get to this mountain to Lang Biang mountain and you should prepare yourself to start the hike. This mountain rises 2,167 meters above sea level, the trail is nearly 5 kilometres longs with an elevation gain of approximately 650m and it might take about 2 hours to get up the summit. Standing on the top of the summit, you will definitely get unrivalled views of the rich agricultural region and indulge yourself into the alluring atmosphere before getting down at a relaxed pace. 

"Enjoy Cable Car to Truc Lam Pagoda"

There are several options to go from Dalat city centre to Truc Lam Pagoda but taking a cable car (around 4 kilometres) is one of the best choices of most travellers. On a sunny day, you will have a great chance to see farmland, locals' greenhouses, a big lake which is located between the vast pine forest before arriving Truc Lam Pagoda. This pagoda is recognized as one of the best-kept shrines in Dalat and becomes the regular visiting point for tourists from all over the world to admire its unique architecture and many Buddha images.

When the sun slowly goes down, the bright lights from plenty of stalls in the night market, restaurants and hotels lit the whole city up. Dalat Night Market opens from 05:00 pm till 10:00 pm which is located along Minh Khai street, just a 5-minute walk from the tranquil Xuan Huong Lake. Apart from the usual laid-back pace of locals in Dalat, at this night market, it's a vibrant scene with thousands of people out shopping and enjoying many local foods at affordable prices like traditional rice noodles, banh mi and fresh soy milk.

Due to the amazingly cool weather, Dalat is an ideal city for growing some special flowers and certain crops that can't grow anywhere else in Vietnam. The first impression when you come to Dalat will be the land of many different flowers such as Lavender, Wide Sunflower, Hydrangea and many more. If you want to find a perfect place where to drink a cup of tea or coffee and simply take a stroll around the most colourful scenes in Dalat, these flower gardens are definitely the best choices.

"Splendid Waterfalls"

There are a great number of waterfalls in Dalat which you will be amazed at. The nearest one is the Datanla waterfall which is situated only 6 km from Dalat city centre. However, it's no surprise that this one is the most touristy of all the falls. Another ideal option is Elephant Falls which is a bit further (30km) from Dalat city but it is definitely worth a visit as you will be blown away by the stunning scenery especially on a sunny day, you might have a chance to witness the gorgeous rainbows generated by the spray. The most impressive waterfall is Pongour Waterfall but it is also the furthest which takes around 50 km from the city centre of Dalat.

We also pulled over a few times to look at different interesting things like coffee, curry and pepper plants. The tour was very flexible as our original pick up was to be in Da Lat, but after our flight was moved twice they agreed to pick us up from the airport. Day 1: Dalat Arrival

Welcome to Dalat City, Vietnam. Our tour guide and driver will greet you at the Lien Khuong Airport and transfer to your hotel in Dalat City. Starting our  Dalat Tour Package – Private Tour with  Vietnam Shore Excursions . On the way, we will visit  Datanla waterfalls with magnificent views and can be approached by the roller coaster. Be free and easy on your own to explore Night Market  to buy some gifts for your friends or relatives when coming back home. Overnight in Dalat.

Day 2: Dalat City Tour (B, L)

Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Dalat and transfer to visit  Lang Biang Mountain , the highest peak from Dalat to the South of Vietnam. You will have a great chance to enjoy the commanding view of the highlands. The mountain is famous for its spectacular nature, as well as its marvelous view of the whole wide area of Dalat City with forest, rivers, streams and houses of tribal people. Standing on the top of  Lang Biang Mountain,  tourists can see the beauty of  Golden Stream  and  Silver Stream . 

Then you will be transferred to visit  Dalat Flower Garden, known as the paradise of flowers with a rich collection of local and foreign flower types: roses, impatiens walleriana, chives, azaleas, bird of paradise, hydrangeas, orchids, cactus…. Have lunch a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will visit the  Love Valley  and  Robin Hill . You can take the cable car to see the panorama of Da Lat,  Lang Biang Mountain ,  Elephant Mountain … down to  Tuyen Lam Lake (the nicest lake in Dalat) surrounded by pine forest. After that, you will visit Clay Tunnels before getting back to your hotel. End the second day of the Dalat Tour Package. Overnight in Dalat.

Day 3: Dalat Countryside Tour (B, L)

Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to visit Ta Nung pass , enjoy the whole view of  Nam Ban town  and the mighty sight of huge jungle. You will visit to the  Highlands Coffee Plantation  and  Weasel Coffee Workshop (Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee). Have lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will visit the  Elephant Waterfall  where you can enjoy the impressive scenery of the largest waterfall of  Lam Dong Province.  Visitors must descend a steep, often slippery and uneven path made up of stone steps, which only takes a few minutes. Dalat Walking Tour is a half day tour we arrange in Dalat. This pleasant 2 hour walk takes you out to the pine forested area just north of Dalat and wanders down on peaceful trails to the lake below. The trail goes over a couple of moderate hills before dropping down gradually. Dankia Lake greets you at the end of the trail and a beautiful park with flower gardens presents an opportunity to sit back and enjoy the great outdoors.

Dalat Walking Tour Itinerary

This trip starts with a short vehicle transfer from either our office or your hotel to the trail head (about 20 minutes). The drive on the way out of town takes you past beautiful flower farms and presents some impressive vistas of Langbian Mountain in the distance.

The trail starts out on a dirt road and turns off onto a small trail after just a couple of hundred meters.

We head up a hill and then down into the valley on the other side. The trail is fringed with pine trees the entire way. Water buffaloes can be seen wallowing in mud puddles dug out by the local farmers.

The trail slowly descends down to the lake from this point and the southern shores of the lake can be made out from a key vantage point on the way.

As we get close to the end of the trail, horses can be seen grazing in the wide open flat area that is left during the dry season, when the lake has receded. When we reach the end of the trail, a park dedicated to flowers greets us and presents the opportunity for more pleasant walking. It’s a great place to wander around and find a pleasant shady area to enjoy a snack. Trip ends.

Please note that while we operate successful trips in Vietnam throughout the year, some changes may occur in our itineraries due to inclement weather and common seasonal changes to timetables and transport routes. Depending on the proposed option (semi-guide tour or all-inclusive package tour), the price may include the following services. Please bear in mind Lotussia Travel is specialized in tailor-made trips. Trip cost vary depending on group size and other details.

Our tour guides speak English or French. They hold a university degree in tourism and national license as a guide. If you wish to send a tour leader along with any group, he or she can fully rely on the knowledge and experience of our local guides.

Remote treks are always accompanied by a local representative to deal with permits and authorities and manage the porter team. They speak the local dialects, know the cultural traditions and give tips on suggested behavior in fragile ecological areas and tribal communities. For some itineraries, the role of tour leader and representative is combined.

Our drivers don’t speak English. It’s possible that a few of them might know some basic words, such as telling time, stop, and lunch. If you’re looking for effective communication throughout the journey, we highly recommend booking a tour guide.

Trip routes

Principally, Lotussia Travel requires all the trip associates to know the destinations well by any means of traveling or enquiry to the local suppliers to figure out all the relative details of any trip. For adventure tours such as jungle trekking, mountain hiking, sea kayaking, river rafting or biking, cycling tours, Lotussia Travel will never add any new routes into available schedule until survey or pre-view it.

Accommodation

Lotussia Travel carefully choose all the hotels, guest-houses or home-stays based on service quality, location, and characteristics, doing best to make the accommodations in the remote small places as comfortable as possible. Please bear in mind that hotels in Vietnam might not be in the same standard in other country. Generally hotels in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hoian, Hue…are much better than hotels and guest-houses in mountainous areas.

Lotussia Travel take dinning as an indispensable experience to clients since it is an important part in Vietnamese culture. Therefore, Lotussia Travel will not intend take clients to the most expensive restaurants but non-touristy local ones which offer delicious, local food, with nice or interesting atmosphere. The restaurants might be simple in the country but LOTUSSIA Travel guarantee is sanitary and cleanliness. Or even on our trek, we encourage our cook offer client food with new tastes from day to day. During adventure itineraries to mountainous or remote areas, there is sometimes no choice for hotel and restaurants. We will try our best to bring you the best taste of local food.

As the tap water in Vietnam is undrinkable, Lotussia Travel recommend clients to drink bottled water throughout your trip, or boiled water on treks. Lotussia Travel offers bottle water all the day, and soft drinks like Cola, Sprite or Vietnamese Tea or if possible juice in restaurants (if mentionned in itinerary). This is not automatically included in the packages. In simple restaurant or on camping, Lotussia Travel offers boiled water, instant coffee or juice, wrapped milk (Details are confirmed in bottom of your itinerary).

Transportation

In most destinations of Vietnam, all the roads are well paved though the traffic is quite messed up like in Hanoi, Hai Phong… We use proper vehicles, car, minibus or coach in good condition based on the size of the groups. We use 4WD only on the rough road where the other vehicles could not pass through or based on clients requirement on overland journeys or treks. For cycling itineraries, we usually use our support minibus or minibus with support truck. For sea kayaking, river rafting trips, diving packages we use standard boat as support. Detailed information is provided on our service proposal.

We use drivers who are native or local of each travel destination and maintain good safety records for all trips. Most of our drivers can speak English but a little bit. This is just enough to understand basic words such as “time of departure”, “stop”, “restaurants”, “hotels”…If you want to learn more about Vietnamese culture and information about sightseeing sites, booking a tour guide is highly recommended.
