Lamb of God Announce ‘Omens’ Album + Tour With Killswitch Engage

When your previous trek is literally dubbed "Metal Tour of the Year," the bar is set hight for your future touring. But Lamb of God have put together one of the top metal packages for 2022, pairing up with Killswitch Engage and inviting Baroness , Suicide Silence , Motionless in White , Spiritbox , Animals as Leaders and Fit for an Autopsy to round out the bill on select dates. The tour news comes as Lamb of God are also set to reveal the details of their latest album, which now carries the title Omens .

Fans will have to wait just a very short period for new music as the band's first single from Omens , a track called "Nevermore," arrives this Friday (June 10). As for the album itself, Omens is on track for an Oct. 7 street date via Epic Records and finds the group once again working with producer Josh Wilbur.

As for what fans can expect from the set, singer Randy Blythe minces no words. "The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world. It’s a very pissed-off record.” He then pauses for emphasis, reiterating, “It is extremely pissed-off.”

Guitarist Mark Morton adds, "The inner workings of the band have never been better. You can hear it in Omens . You can see it in our performances, and if you're around us for five minutes, you can feel it."

Pre-orders for the album are currently available here with a number of merch bundle and vinyl color variant options. All physical CD and vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of The Making of Omens documentary, which will premiere the week of the album's release. So pre-order your album here now.

And with a new album en route, it's time to build the anticipation by hitting the road. As previously mentioned, the band should have one of the top tours of the fall. Killswitch Engage will join them for the entire run, which kicks off Sept. 9 in Brooklyn at Coney Island. The support for run is also top notch with Baroness, Motionless in White, Spiritbox and Animals as Leaders taking turns in the primary support slot, while Suicide Silence and Fit for an Autopsy will split the opening duties on the run.

"Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music," says Morton. "Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. We are thrilled to announce The Omens Tour, which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well. The Omens Tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss."

Tickets will go on sale this Friday (June 10) at 10AM local time via Lamb of God's website . In addition, Citi will by the official card of the tour, with a Citi cardmember pre-sale starting this Tuesday (June 7) at 10AM ET running through Thursday (June 9) at 10PM local time. About LAMB OF GOD:

“For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world,” Guitar World observed. Lamb Of God grew from basement shows and grimy DIY venues to arena headliners. Over the course of their career, the Richmond, Virginia-based band earned a reverence akin to musical forefathers (and road companions) Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. Timeless songs like “Laid to Rest,” “Redneck,” “Walk with Me in Hell,” and “Now You’ve Got Something to Die For” became anthems in the heavy metal songbook. They shoved heavy metal into the new millennium with New American Gospel (2000). As the Palaces Burn (2003) joined Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake (2004) was the first Lamb Of Gold album certified gold by the RIAA, a feat once all but impossible for a contemporary extreme metal band. Sacrament (2006), Revolver’s Album of the Year, went gold as well. The raw and organic malice of Wrath (2009) began the band’s enduring relationship with Wilbur. Both the diverse Resolution (2012) and the explosive VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200. The 2020 self-titled set, their first new material in five years, added instant classics “Memento Mori” and “Resurrection Man” to the repertoire, alongside eight more monster tracks. Revolver, Metal Hammer, and Loudwire included Lamb Of God on their year-end Best Albums lists. The momentum continues with Omens, the band’s most aggressive and ambitious album yet.

LAMB OF GOD Announces ‘Omens’ Album and Reveals Dates For ‘The Omens Tour’

LAMB OF GOD , the Grammy-nominated goliath, returns with the gloriously unhinged album  Omens , produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth). The first single, “Nevermore,” arrives on Friday, June 10. Omens follows on October 7 via Epic Records.

The New Wave Of American Heavy Metal architects will support the new album with a massive Live Nation produced U.S. headlining tour, The Omens Tour, featuring special guests Killswitch Engage on all dates. Different legs will also see support from Baroness ,  Motionless In White , Spiritbox , Animals As Leaders as well as  Suicide Silence and Fit For An Autopsy . The tour kicks off September 9 in Brooklyn and runs through October 20, see full routing below. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, June 10 at 10am local time on lamb-of-god.com .

Citi is the official card of the The Omens Tour . Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Tuesday, June 7  at 10am ET until Thursday, June 9 at 10pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program. For complete presale details visit www.citientertainment.com .

“Two decades ago,  Lamb of God , along with  Killswitch Engage , were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music. Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. We are thrilled to announce  The Omens Tour , which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well.  The Omens Tour  proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss.”  –  Mark Morton

Densely muscular, soaked in unnerving spite, with a pessimistic eye toward inner struggles and global affairs alike, Omens is a furious entry in the Lamb Of God catalog, perhaps their angriest album yet. “The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world,” explains vocalist D. Randall Blythe . “It’s a very pissed-off record.” He pauses for emphasis. “It is extremely pissed-off.”

Omens is also Lamb Of God ‘s most diverse affair. The band tracked live in the room together at Henson Recording Studios (formerly A&M Studios) in Los Angeles, California, a location that birthed classics from The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, and Soundgarden, among others. “The inner workings of the band have never been better,” explains guitarist Mark Morton . “You can hear it in Omens . You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.”

The  Omens  album pre-order is live now at  Lamb-Of-God.com , boasting several exclusive items, including a signed colored vinyl variant, shirt, hoodie, and signed CDs with an alternate color cover. All physical CD and Vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of “The Making of Omens” documentary, which will premiere the week of album release.

Lamb of God Drop ‘Omens’ Title-Track and Announce Extensive 2022 Tour Plans

Lamb of God have released the title track for their new album ‘Omens’ along with their extensive tour plans for the remainder of the year.

' src=

With their ninth album just around the corner, metal titans Lamb of God have just released “Omens”, the title track with an accompanying video. The gargantuan “Omens” follows the album’s first single, “Nevermore,” which collected more than 1 million views on YouTube and over 1 million streams on Spotify shortly after its release just last month.

Speaking about the track, frontman D.Randall Blythe said:

“I think a lot of the messes human beings find ourselves in could be very easily prevented simply by paying attention to obvious repeating patterns, both in our personal lives and in a broader sociohistorical context. What some call ‘omens’ are really just manifestations of the fact that there is nothing new under the sun. It’s foolish to ignore this, but we all do it.”

Omens arrives on October 7th, 2022 via Nuclear Blast Records and has been described as Lamb Of God’s angriest album yet. Produced by long-time collaborator Josh Wilbur ( Korn , Megadeth ), Omens is a vicious new testament for the Richmond, Virginia-based band, a furious entry in their beloved catalogue.

On the album itself, the frontman explains:

“The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world. It’s a very pissed-off record. It is extremely pissed-off.”

Omens the album is available to pre-order in various formats with physical CD and vinyl orders from the Nuclear Blast store to include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of “The Making of Omens” documentary, which will premiere the week of album release.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.

LIVE REVIEW: LAMB OF GOD THE OMENS TOUR 2022

When Lamb of God decided to hit the road for the 2022 summer “The Omens Tour” they brought some strong supporting acts along with them. They received direct support from Killswitch Engage and for the Sterling Heights date they brought along Baroness and Suicide Silence as well. While Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage will be on the road together for 6 weeks, the supporting acts are changing periodically throughout that time. Future legs of the tour will also include various combinations with Motionless in White, Spiritbox, Animals as Leaders, and Fit for an Autopsy.

Founded in 2002 Suicide Silence looked like a very different than the version we know today. Today the only remaining founding member is Chris Garza, on rhythm guitar. The band has a dark past. Having lost their founding vocalist, Mitch Lucker, in late 2012 to a motorcycle accident, they took a break until late 2013 when they announced Eddie Hermida would step up as lead vocals. They have always had a fast-paced deathcore sound that has remained over the years. The set they played at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill was no debarment from the sound and stage presence expected at a deathcore show. They started the night with the 2007 song “Unanswered.” This opening song set the tone for the whole night. To say it started off right was an understatement.

Up next was the Savannah Georgia powerhouse heavy metal band known as Baroness. They took the stage by going right into “The Sweetest Curse.” The quartet moved just as harmoniously as the songs they played. Their stage presence during the whole performance included lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist John Baizley taking turns playing facing lead guitarists Gina Gleason and again with bassist Nick Jost. John, Gina, and Nick all played their instruments and contributed to vocals throughout the set. They were also joined on stage by drummer Sebastian Thomson. Their stage energy was infectious to everyone at the amphitheater. As expected, this intoxicating energy continued as they played their entire set.

When someone hears a Killswitch Engage song now it is hard to not know it is distinctly theirs. In the beginning their sound was distinctly different when the band formed lead guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz’s distinctive sounds were not part of the mix just yet; Adam started on Drums when the band first formed. In the twenty-three years that they have been playing music together Adam along with Jesse Leach, Joel Stroetzel, and Mike D’Antonio were all founding members, sometimes switching up what and how they play as a band. In 2002 Justin Foley joined the band and took over drums from Adam. For ten years of the band’s history from 2002 until 2012 Howard Jones was on Lead vocals, however he had to step away for medical reasons. This departure brought the band back to virtually the same lineup that had been together since 1999. Bands who have passed the twenty-year mark together have a certain seamless continuity on stage. Killswitch Engage is by far no exception. They moved and played with such grace it felt like the audience was watching a group of friends have a jam session in their friend’s basement. Starting off the night with “Strength of Mind” and flowing right into one of their top songs, “This is Absolution.” This raised the energy level of the whole crowd. This energy did not falter throughout the rest of the set. They closed out the Dio cover of “Holy Diver” and “The Signal Fire.” These two songs brought the vitality needed to prepare the crowd for the headliners, Lamb of God.

The band now and mostly commonly known as Lamb of God is a band that is adored my many. No matter if you have known the band since before they had a singer in the mid-ninety’s or if you just found them today, it is easy to see how so many fans they have worldwide. Singer Randy Blythe has had twenty-seven years to perfect his stage presence fronting Lamb of God and it shows every time he takes the stage. Randy was joined on stage by founding members, Mark Morton on guitar and John Campbell on bass, long time member Willie Adler on guitar, and newer additional Art Cruz on drums. This lineup is strong and always delivers a strong, fiery performance. The pyrotechnics at Lamb of God shows are always something welcomed. They opened the set with “Memento Mori”, took a small pause and brought the heat with “Walk with Me in Hell.” The set had a balanced mix of songs from their albums starting with the 2003 album  As the Palaces Burn  as well as songs from the newest 2022 album  The Omens  and ended the set with one of their top favorites, “Redneck.” As always, the heavy metal heroes known as Lamb of God brought the excitement needed to energize an entire amphitheater on a rainy Sunday night in Metro Detroit.

lamb of god - omens album review

Lamb of God – Omens Released: October 7, 2022

Dr. Randall Blythe // vocals Mark Morton // guitar Willie Adler // guitar John Campbell // bass Art Cruz // drums

Official Website Facebook Twitter Instagram

Lamb of God are pissed off. Like, really pissed off. You might ask why a band of their respectable standing and longevity are so angry, but unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, it’s pretty clear there’s plenty to be furious about in the last couple of years, particularly as the social system experiences the effect of poor health, education and welfare standards. Nine albums in and they’ve got plenty to say and a set of face-melting riffs to deliver their message. Mark Morton and Willie Adler remain the focal point of the attack with Randy Blythe the unique voice (both lyrically and in tone) at centre stage. With Art Cruz now well settled behind the drum kit, this is a recharged band that have taken on the odd experiment across their last three albums and decided to look the audience in the eye and remind them of what they can do when they put the foot down and flick the HEAVY button on the soundboard.

The band forgo the longer introduction of prior albums so the opener ‘Nevermore’ engages the groove machine immediately. It’s a gnarly Morton/Adler riff that gives Randy plenty of room to scream over. He gets in some of his clean vocals, hardly a novelty anymore, though his distinct style of cleans remains a great contrast to his raspy scream as he declares, “This is a reckoning!” The added highlight is the killer solo from Morton that is air guitar worthy. ‘Vanishing’ is more classic LoG, a bit of groove before opening up mosh pits for a good thrashing on the verses and a great headbang along the chorus. ‘To The Grave’ is another one in the tradition of immediate and furious bangers, recalling ‘Hourglass’ and ‘As the Palaces Burn’ , with a series of beastly riffs that could summon Cithlu if they weren’t pointed at the institutions that keep us bound. It has some very cool parts for John Campbell and Cruz too, who otherwise spend a fair bit of the album keeping the rhythm tight while the guitarists wail.

Like their self-titled album, what makes Omens so powerful is that it successfully combines what Lamb of God does well, picking at the various threads of their sound and pushing it up to 11. There’s plenty of colossal hate, which fits the more hardcore-influenced songs to perfection. As he says on ‘Ditch’ , Randy says “I don’t give a goddamn, about your demands!” It’s got that menacing Blythe spoken word part too, that makes the hair stand up on your neck. ‘Omens’ on the other hand has the sort of hook and streamlined riff that made the songs on Sacrament so memorable. It’s positively apocalyptic and leaves little doubt about the “rising apathy, growing everyday” . ‘Gomorrah’ is a slower, more deliberate tempo that suits the “everything is doomed to fail” mantra of the lyrics. The titles alone point to the bleakness of Blythe’s current worldview, but as anyone who has followed his Instagram can attest, he calls out bullshit when he sees it. However, there is a strong self-empowerment streak running through the record, challenging fans to step up and do something about the systemic failures around us. ‘Ill Design’ just slays, with another great solo, probably the one thing the album doesn’t have quite enough of.

As noted, nine albums is now a lot of Lamb of God . Whilst they’re comfortable in their skin, some of the more melodic elements they had been playing with on Resolution , Sturm und Drang and the self-titled record are missing. There’s no denying the power of ‘Greyscale’ , what a monster of a song, but they haven’t gone down the power(ful) ballad route since ‘Overlord’ , content perhaps with playing to their traditional strengths. That said, ‘Denial Mechanism’ is a ferocious, thrashy thunderbolt that causes blood to pump at ‘wall of death’ levels. Like seriously, throw it on and start doing stomps around your lounge. Certainly be wary of other passengers if you’re listening on public transport. Fists will fly. ‘September Song’ starts with an almost Soulfly -esque melodic section with a cool lead and effects Morton rarely uses, but this quiet contemplation is broken by a piercing Randy scream and the groove machine is turned back on. Don’t interpret this as a slight on ‘September Song’ , which is epic and will have you roaring along in no time. It has a fade out that gives Morton time to lay down some sick guitar work with keys backing he and Adler’s duel. A second fade out leads into a riff off built for headbanging, with synths and gang chanting. I dare say this will be a fan favourite that many will want to hear live.

I’m not complaining about what it is here – it is frickin’ heavy and powerful – but I do miss the boundary-pushing they had been doing as a collective. I dare say you should ignore the score below, throw it on when it is released and decide for yourself. As a Lamb of God fan this is a killer record, showcasing what the band are known best for. It’s not going to convince those who aren’t in the congregation to convert to the Lamb of God flock. As one of the most prominent shepherds of American Heavy Metal, this is a damn fine album that is worth repeat spins.

General tickets go on sale Thursday, June 9 at 10:00 AM on Ticketmaster .

Theatres in Moscow

Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.

There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.

A typical feature of Russian theatre – visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.

Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.

The Bolshoi Theatre

The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.

If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.

In August the Bolshoi is closed.

The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre

This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.

The Novaya Opera

“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. You can buy tickets online here http://www.novayaopera.ru/en .

Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center

The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya. Nowadays its artistic director is Olga Rostropovich, daughter of Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, great cellist and conductor. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. You can see what is on the program here http://opera-centre.ru/theatre . Unfortunately “booking tickets online” is available in Russian only. If you need help, you can contact us at and we can book a ticket for you.

Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory

These are two major concert halls for symphonic music in Moscow. Both feature excellent acoustics, impressive interior, various repertoire and best performers. You can check the program here http://meloman.ru/calendar/ . You need just to switch to English. Booking tickets online is available only for owners of Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian phone numbers. If you need help, you can contact us and we can book a ticket for you.

Moscow International Performing Arts Center (MIPAC)

This modern and elegant concert hall houses performances of national and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, opera singers, ballet dancers, theatre companies, jazz bands, variety and traditional ensembles. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of “Virtuosy Moskvy” orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . The program is impressive in its variety but is not translated into English. You can contact us at and we can find a performance for you.
