Moondrop Space Travel Earbuds Review – The Affordable TWS Earbuds Have Finally Landed

Moondrop recently released the Space Travel last July, and I’m glad I finally got one of my own.

This is my very first unit from Moondrop, and based on reviews online, it has a good reputation and most people who bought it didn’t have any regrets or complaints with the Space Travel. In addition, they also said that this is a great option aside from the  Moondrop Nekocake .

So, let’s explore the performance of the Moondrop Space Travel and find out if it really deserves some recognition.

The Moondrop Space Travel is a TWS earbud that costs around $25. For its price, it has Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode, which are features that you’ll rarely see with budget TWS earbuds. It has a balanced sound profile that has warmth and naturality to it. More tuning configurations can also be accessed within the Moondrop Link App.

Like the Space Travel, the Moondrop Nekocake also has a balanced sound. It’s priced around $42 and also has an ANC feature.

The Anker Soundcore P20i is also a great option if you’re a fan of app-dependent wireless earbuds to bring out more options and features. Sadly, it doesn’t have an ANC and Transparency Mode option, but the Soundcore app lets you customize its controls and equalizer tunings.

Review Metrics

First impressions.

I saw the teasers posted online by Moondrop, and at first glance, I was impressed with the Space Travel’s appearance. It comes in transparent PVC packaging that shows the Space Travel inside and the formed cardboard boxes containing the paperwork and inclusions.

Due to its unique charging case and build, the Moondrop Space Travel doesn’t have the usual wireless earbuds experience when setting them up. To use the earbuds, I have to slide them up from their case, imitating a rocket being launched, living up to its name the Space Travel.

Inside the cardboard boxes, I was welcomed with the inclusions: a USB-C cable for charging, three additional pairs of ear tips, some paperwork, and a card that shows a QR Code that leads to some sort of a Chinese messaging app and a waifu showing the proper way of wearing the Moondrop Space Travel.

Build Quality

The Moondrop Space Travel is built differently than other wireless earbuds. It has a unique charging case that resembles a very NASA-like vibe. The charging case has a resin material on the upper part of the case that protects the earbuds from falling out.

Meanwhile, the bottom part of the case, which is some type of matte plastic, contains the magnetic pins that charge the earbuds. Despite the charging case’s absence of a lid, the magnets secure the earbuds very well (just don’t shake them hard).

The earbuds have the same matte plastic build from the stem to the earbuds’ shell. Also, the nozzle on each earbud has this oblong shape, making it hard to put the ear tips. The stock ear tips are okay and of decent quality. They also take the shape of the elliptical nozzles of the earbuds.

Fit and Comfort

The Moondrop Space Travel’s shell is bigger than usual earphones or earbuds. The wearing comfort isn’t bad but it’s also not great. It fits nicely in my ears, but there’s this feeling of unwanted pressure in my ears that can be unbearable at times.

What’s great about the Space Travel is that it’s lightweight and doesn’t give any unwanted weight when worn. The ear tips were also great in terms of fit, I’m using the stock medium-sized tips, and they give a good amount of seal.

Moondrop Link App

Having the Moondrop Space Travel also means installing their app that brings out more features of the wireless earbuds. The Moondrop Link app is available for both iOS and Android, and it’s a great addition if you like customization options.

The app lets you map the earbuds’ touch controls depending on your preferences. The app also features a software update for your Moondrop wireless devices. 

The feature I love the most about this app is the tuning configuration. This feature provides three different tunings for your Moondrop Space Travel: Reference, Basshead, and the Monitor. I hope Moondrop will add more equalizer configurations for the app in future updates.

ANC and Transparency Mode

I won’t explain these features in depth but I think the Noise Cancellation of the Space Travel is good enough for its price. It blocks most noise from the environment but struggles with higher-frequency noises.

For its Transparency Mode, it doesn’t really help me hear stuff from the outside. It’s more of a white noise that makes people I’m talking with very inaudible.

Sound Quality

The overall presentation of the Moondrop Space Travel is pure bliss. It falls under the warm-sounding category with a balanced tuning combined with its naturality. My only concern is the need for more volume with the Space Travel as it doesn’t block most of the noise when I’m outdoors.

Going to the Space Travel’s technicalities, they’re good for a TWS but they simply can’t beat the wired ones within the price range or lower than them.

The timbre with the Space Travel is decent enough and doesn’t sound unnatural. The resolution and clarity also fall in the average range but could be better.

The sound staging has an okay-ish width and height. Even though it’s not up to my standards, it’s sufficient to let me know where the instruments are coming from. The sound separation and layering are nice in that they keep up with the most complex tracks.

For a TWS with average technicalities and performance, I won’t complain that much as it delivers for what it’s worth.

The bass of the Moondrop Space Travel is impactful enough to give energy to what I’m listening to.

 It has a nice rumble and texture, especially with bass-prominent tracks like EDM and rap. Another notable characteristic of the Space Travel is that it doesn’t bleed into the midrange. It’s more of a thick bass than a deep one. It can also be slow at times with genres that require fast-paced bass.

I also like how the bass sounds with the “Reference” tuning in the Moondrop Link App. The “Reference” tuning slightly elevates the bass region but doesn’t improve its technicalities, while the “Basshead” tuning just reduces the midrange and treble instead of boosting the bass. And with the “Monitor” tuning, the bass is flat and monotonous.

This is where the Moondrop Space Travel excels in my opinion.

It’s very clear and delivers both male and female vocals nicely. There’s also an elevation going towards the treble that I’ve seen from available graphs online. Male vocals are thick and have a body with a lot of energy, while the female ones are prominent with a lot of clarity.

The overall presentation of the midrange is smooth and doesn’t get shouty with the vocals. There’s also no sibilance with the midrange, which makes the Space Travel a decent pair of wireless buds.

The Moondrop Space Travel’s higher ends also perform well enough for its price and can keep up with the midrange’s performance.

It has a decent treble extension without suffering from any harsh peaks or sibilance. Each note of the electric guitar is on point without losing micro-details. The treble can also get airy when needed with each cymbal crash.

Though, it can be muddy at times, specifically with faster-paced tracks. It’s more of a minor problem to me, as it’s a common issue with wireless earbuds.

With everything being said, I think that the Moondrop Space Travel is an excellent budget TWS with great specs and technicalities.

Would I recommend the Space Travel? If you’re an audiophile on a tight budget, it’s a great option as it performs decently and could go head-to-head with other earbuds at the same price point. In addition, you’ll also get an ANC feature and a cool-looking charging case.

On the other hand, if you really want wireless earbuds with a more promising performance and better specs, the Moondrop Space Travel isn’t for you.

Moondrop Space Travel TWS Review (1) – Reaching New Galaxies

The $25 Moondrop Space Travel are absolutely marvellously sounding TWS earphones, my find of the year. There is nothing on these that would indicate their low price.

Pros — Wonderful cohesion and fluidity, organic sound; superb comfort and fit for my ears; decent ANC, incredible value.

Cons — Relatively short battery life; not the loudest maximum volume.

The Moondrop Space Travel were kindly provided by SHENZHENZAUDIO for my review – and I thank them for that. You can get them here .

Moondrop were once big into space – now they are back. Just like the USA . Since their takeoff from Chengdu, Sichuan, China, in 2015, they have travelled with Spaceships through Starfields to boldly go where no man has gone before. They experimented with diffuse field neutral and Harman Kardon, and recently appeared to have settled for their own interpretation of the latter, called VDSF (see below).

When I was a space cadet myself in Chengdu (yes, we had an office there), most of the Moondrop protagonists were children or teenagers.

Apart from alternating tuning trends in the “tonalities of the season”, Moondrop sometimes were their biggest competitor, even enemy. For example, their $30 Crescent rivalled their $180 Kanas Pro Edition back in 2019. Needless to say that the Crescent disappeared very quickly and mysteriously from the company’s catalogue. Faster than Yevgeny Prygozhin.

As history ALWAYS repeats itself, I hope the $25 Space Travel will stay in the market a bit longer. They are THAT GOOD. I don’t know the other Moondrop TWS models but am completely satisfied with this one. It could be the one for the lonely island for me (provided there will be enough chargers available).

Physicals and Operation

The case is made of solid, hard polycarbonate and looks futuristic, like the love child of a pencil sharpener and a water flosser. A bit awkward in one’s pocket but a great looking accessory to any desk. The earpieces (without their antennas) are rather small and have an excellent fit on my ears: super comfortable with a great seal. Stock eartips work well. Haptic of both earpieces and cable is great. No hint that this set is only $25.

Operation is intuitive when you have used TWS earphones before: different taps and clicks operate next/last song, play/pause, turnoff/off voice assistant and ANC. This works smoothly. You can customize these gestures with the free Moondrop Link app…see below.

The voice assistant is actually quite cool: a snoddy young girl’s (or waifu’s?) voice advising the listener in a sometimes funny way. May cause repeated chuckles and good mood.

What you cannot do with tapping is adjusting the volume. This needs to be done on your music source. Speaking of volume: Space Travel’s maximum volume is not as high as that of its more expensive competitors such as the 199€ Earsonics AERØ or the $150 final ZE3000, but it is loud enough for “normal” listening.

The Moondrop Space Travel features Bluetooth 5.3 and actually really operates over a distance of 10 m, unobstructed, as claimed. I tested it. Bluetooth operation is very smooth. When alternating between the Space Travel and the final ZE3000, the iPhone recognizes each model automatically. No fiddling with the setting necessary.

It works, and surprisingly well as long as you do not expect wonders. The Moondrop Space Travel’s ANC filters out static noise such as remote traffic, wind in trees, or a fridge sound quite effectively. It does not do much for dynamically changing noises such cars passing by or the traffic helicopter above you. The use can choose between noise cancelling, regular, and transparency mode.

That’s where more expensive models leave the Moondrop Space Travel in the dust. You get max. 4 hours of uninterrupted listening out of them, not quite enough for most international air travel out of Canada. Recharging takes approximately one hour. The case allows three re-charges to a total of 12 hours. It is re-charged within 1.5 hours.

I downloaded the free Moondrop Link app from Apple’s App Store. A Google version is also available. The app works for a series of Moondrop devices such as TWS iems and dongles, and serves the purpose of fine-tuning them.

For the Moondrop Space Travel, the Link app allows for two things: first, customizing operational gestures (“Custom Touch”) such as play, pause, next song, ANC on/off etc.

Second, the user can adjust the tonality with a choice of “Reference, Basshead, and Monitor”. The difference between the three is the bass perception. Monitoring has the flattest bass for the most neutral sound.

I mainly use “Reference” in the middle as it is closest to the Harman Target (with a bit of bass rumble). If you are on a noisy train or bus, you may choose “Basshead” in order to support the ANC in suppressing the ambient noise.

Once selected, the Space Travel memorizes the setting.

About my measurements

The sound of the Moondrop Space Travel is absolutely superb. This may be a blanket statement but that’s how I perceive it. I have used the Space Travel around the clock (or moon?) since its arrival. Its natural sound rivals my $150 final ZE3000 TWS gold standard. Surprised?

With three selectable tuning configurations you can tweak the Moondrop Space Travel’s tonality to your liking. All three hover around Moondrop’s Virtual Diffuse Sound Field (“VDSF”) target, their interpretation of ideal sonic quantities across the frequency spectrum. The VDSF (and therefore the Space Travel) avoids annoying peaks and is broadly similar to the Harman target.

The “Reference” tuning comes closest to the VDSF target, The “Monitor” shifts the experience somewhat towards neutral. Basshead is not as extreme as it sounds and can polish some flat old recordings up quite a bit.

Bass is in all cases reasonably tight with natural decay — and with good control and decent attack. Mids are a tad on the lean side (but only a tad), and they excel in note definition and articulation. Midrange resolution and clarity are very good.

The interplay of bass and mids makes for excellent spatial cues. You get a real room feeling. And since the upper mids are well controlled there is absolutely no shoutiness. Gone are the days of the piercing Moondrop SSR and the likes of. Treble is safe and well rounded by Bluetooth’s own limitations.

The Space Travel sound wonderfully cohesive, fluid, natural, and relaxed, but with great dynamics nevertheless. Staging is wide with reasonable depth, separation and layering are unbelievably good considering its price. Even microdynamics is surprisingly good.

It is the whole composition that is so enticing to my ears.

In comparison, the superb $150 final ZE3000 are somewhat richer sounding and play louder. But the Space Travel have better articulation (!!!). The ZE3000 also play longer before recharging but have much bigger earpieces.

The 199€ Earsonics AERØ may be built more rugged but have some degree of unpleasant harshness compared to the Space Travel.

None of these pricier competitors offers ANC.

A word on the microphone’s recording quality: pretty good, my voice comes across quite clear in an echoey environment (over hardwood floors):

Moondrop Space Travel Review (2) – Closer To God

Since Chinese budget iems have first flooded the western markets some 5 to 7 years ago, consumers have been “holygrailing” to find that $$$ iem at a bargain price. But these killer deals never materialized. This resulted in hoarding for many jumping from one model to the next in short order like Tarzan from tree to tree. It has been a bottomless barrel – and an expensive one cumulatively.

Not quite sure whether the Moondrop Space Travel will satisfy this clientele 100% either, but they are Wall of Excellence material in my opinion. They offer a natural, cohesive listening experience that is nothing less than irresistible to my ears. Greatness independent of price.

My find of the year! It is as simple as that. Why pay more? Get them before they are being pulled – again.

Do these have any sort of static noise or buzz when nothing is playing? I'm currently using soundpeats life, but the static noise when nothing is playing on the side bluetooth is connected to makes it annoying and irritating to just use the ANC with nothing playing.

I haven't noticed any but then I don't usually wear them without music playing.

Moondrop Space Travel Review | The $25 Entry-level TWS to Beat!

• The signature is well-balanced overall.
• Bass and lower mids are on the leaner side but otherwise not overly boosted; pretty much controlled.
• Treble is tilted towards relaxed tuning; resulting in the lack of sibilance when it comes to cymbal prominence.
• Midrange is kept nearly intact to what I think sounds neutral.
• Midrange tonality has a slight glare, which is more apparent in female vocals, causing them to sometimes sound slightly shouty. Some instruments are also slightly too in-your-face, however I find vocals to be more obvious to have this issue.
• Technical performance is average to slightly below average.
• Bass lacks in the sense of authority, altho still pretty competent in the $20 tiers.
• Smeared and grainy detail retrieval which results in lackluster detail, maybe even compared to the $20 tiers.
• Staging performance is expected; pretty closed in stage with 3-blob imaging. Very elliptical without having the sense of projection beyond my ears.
• Due to lacking in texture, instrumental timbre doesn't seem to stand out, although I think it performs well.

• The increase in 2 kHz to 3 kHz is probably causing the slight glare I'm hearing since I never heard this glare in cymbals, which is supported by a relatively relaxed treble from 6 kHz to 10 kHz.
• Bass and treble are slightly lean and relaxed, respectively, as I said in my listening impressions.

• Boosts the bass by 3dB starting from 200Hz. Desirable for more bass-focused tracks while keeping lower mids away from muddiness.
• Treble slightly boosted (actually to a level that I would like) to balance the bass lift.
• The upper-mid glare is still there, but it doesn't become as obvious due to the boosts on both ends.
• Still more on the neutral side for bassheads.

• The 2 kHz to 3 kHz increase is now tamed down. It makes the midrange tonality one of the best I've ever heard at its price range.
• However, the bass is lacking, making this profile very vocal-centric and boring to listen to.

• Space Travel's treble is safer, while Chu can come across as spicy.
• Space Travel is slightly warmer in the lower mids, while Chu is very lean.
• Better vocal timbre for Chu when compared to Reference Preset. With Monitor Preset, Space Travel beats the Chu in my opinion in terms of vocal timbre.
• Better resolution and transients for Chu, but comes across as metallic in timbre as a result. Space Travel sounds smoother and more natural.

• Better treble for Space Travel. QKZ HBB comes across as too blunt or too relaxed. I already find Space Travel treble to be pretty relaxed.
• QKZ HBB for my tastes is too warm or thick. Space Travel is cleaner in that regard.
• QKZ HBB is more basshead-focused.
• Better bass dynamics for QKZ HBB, although as a result it is very loose. Still a preference thing, but I prioritize a more forward vocal presentation.
• I don't have either of them...
• ...so pls don't ask.

Moondrop Space Travel: Amazing Sound, Affordable Price, Wireless.

• Huge thanks to SHENZHENAUDIO for providing the opportunity for me to review the Moondrop Space Travel. I really do appreciate it. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own, and are not influenced in any way.
• Samsung Galaxy S21 (AAC)
• Acoustune AET07
• Attached to 1 pair of silicone ear tips (M sized)
• Charging cable
• 3 pairs of silicone tips (S, M, L)

• Plasticky, lightweight shell with matte finish but doesn't feel too cheap.
• Nozzle is oval shaped, while it being shorter than usual IEMs but managed to fit my AET07 very well.
• Fit is decent for me. Not the deepest fit due to its rather large body but comfortable enough to wear it through the whole day.
• Bluetooth connection was maintained quite well throughout my listening sessions, there were hardly anytime when the connection is cut off while using it.
• I did not encounter any latency issues when watching videos, the sound syncs with the video decently.
• However, it is definitely not the best, as it can be a tiny bit sluggish but I do not think it is noticeable enough for casual video watching, but I can't say the same for gaming or a more serious movie watching session.
• When listening with 70-80% volume with ANC turned on, it can last me almost 4 hours.
• This is fine if you're not a particularly heavy user, but it definitely isn't the strong point of this TWS.
• The case holds an extra 12 hours as stated but I never actually used them to the full extent.
• Moondrop Link is really ... barebone and unrefined.
• Only allows customization for touch controls and tuning options.
• Doesn't show more information like which mode (ANC/Transparency) I'm currently on, or battery.

• Call quality is acceptable, but there are occasions when the other party mentioned that my voice is a little boomy and unclear, just happened once or twice throughout 5-6 meeting sessions (approx. 1 hour per session)
• Unable to choose the amount or level of ANC
• Does cancel the surrounding sound but not much, stuff like construction noises next door will still get through even with ANC turned on.
• There is also almost no pressurized feeling from the ANC, unlike stronger ANC buds like Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 which feels uncomfortable with ANC turned on.
• Unable to choose the amount or level of Transparency
• Able to hear surrounding sound but also doesn't sound too clear.
• If you want to listen to something important, I would still suggest taking them off to listen more clearly.
• Neutral to mild V-shaped.
• Basshead: Changes the signature to a mild V shaped signature, most balanced option to me. Even at this setting, the bass is not totally overpowering everything else, but the impact and quantity is slightly increased overall. However, the quantity still doesn't fulfill bass heads' requirement in my opinion.
• Reference: Somewhat neutral with a little bit of bass boost. Bass is more subtle but still packs a decent punch.
• Monitor: More of a neutral signature. Midrange and treble is significantly more pronounced in this mode. Personally, I find this mode to be more vocal centric.
• The comments below will be based on the "Reference" option.
• Quite balanced between the sub bass and mid bass,
• Rumbles and slam are present but a little subtle, and not very impactful or deep.
• However, the bass is actually surprisingly decently defined and textured especially for the price.
• Speed is decent enough to keep up with most busy tracks, and decay is on the faster side.
• Quantity is not much but sufficient if you're not a bass head, and it is very well controlled.
• Midrange is clean, not recessed, and comes with a touch of warmth.
• Male vocals are slightly lacking in body, sounds a little thin but not overly distant.
• Female vocals on the other hand, is quite forward and energetic, perhaps may be borderline shouty to some but not to me.
• Instruments and timbre are quite natural, with the lower end being slightly thin.
• Overall note weight and density on the thinner side.
• Treble is quite relaxed but have a touch of sparkle to not sound too dark.
• Overall, there are minimal harshness and peaks, it is quite smooth
• Treble extension is also decent which adds a little airiness to it, which is quite surprising for a product in this range.
• Details in the treble are decently revealing for a product in this price range.
• Resolution and detail retrieval are decent. Nothing outstanding but doesn't fall too short either.
• Soundstage is quite decent for the price, width is alright but lacking a little in terms of depth which is acceptable.
• Imaging and accuracy is decent enough for me to tell instruments placements apart.
• Separation and layering is decent too.
• There are decent separation and layering most of the time, but will still sound slightly congested when tracks start to get busy.
• As a conclusion, if you want a affordable TWS with sound quality being the utmost priority, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Moondrop Space Travel if you don't need more advanced features other than ANC and Transparency modes.
• Each and every preset EQ configuration in the app are excellent in its own way and will cater towards different target audience for sure.
• Although I listed many things out in the Cons section, those are more like a nitpick or subjective opinion, which are easily forgivable for a product in this price range.
• However, if you're looking for something more, especially in terms of features and refinement, I suggest looking for something else.

Moondrop Space Travel Review - A Solid Performer

• Support system: Bluetooth devices and mobile phones
• Placing my phone on my dining table in my living room, i walked to my balcony with a thick wall in between and there’s no disconnection nor any distortion, connection remained rock solid stable
• As for gaming, the delay is very noticeable, but then again, this TWS is not meant/marketed for gamers in mind.
• Watching Netflix with it on my iPad, there isn’t any delay as well,the audio and video is pretty much in sync. No noticeable delay
• I would say the battery life is not bad nor exceptional, good enough to last you through the day if you are a heavy user, as the case hold an additional of 12 hours approximately
• Single usage is more or less the same as claimed by Moondrop which is 4 hours +- depending on your volume level, during the time of testing, i am playing it at about 40% of volume level which is loud enough to me

• Sub bass rumble can be felt and heard during EDM track such as Ping Pong by Armin
• Bass quantity and quality is good enough (You can always change to a different preset if you feel like having more “Boom”)
• Bass response is neither fast nor slow to a point where it got too boomy
• Typical Harman kind of bass response when using the Reference Preset
• The mid range is not too forward nor recessed
• Vocal positioning is slightly recessed for male and a little bit forward for female
• Male vocal is slightly thin sounding where as female vocal sounds a little bit more full
• Good enough detail at this spectrum of frequency
• Treble is smooth and non sibilant nor fatiguing
• Good enough detail retrieval
• Average resolution
• Good amount of air and presence for the asking price
• Soundstage is pretty much in your head, not too narrow or wide
• Imaging is alright as the instruments can be pinpointed correctly
• In terms of sound, NekoCake sounds a little bit more cooler compared to Space Travel, it is slightly warmer to my ears, hence i perceived it as having slightly more body compared to NekoCake
• NekoCake is a little forward sounding and have smaller soundstage compared to Space Travel
• The rest of the features doesn’t change much in terms of ANC performance and Transparency mode, bluetooth version is currently 5.3 on the Space Travel while NekoCake is 5.0

13 mm Enhanced Dynamic Driver

Enhanced Dynamic Driver with Titanium Dome Composite Diaphragm The performance of the dynamic driver is the basis of earphone sound quality, in the same way that the engine is the basis of car performance.

In TWS it is not practical to improve sound quality by multiplying the number of drivers while at the same time limiting power consumption. It makes no sense to add additional balanced armature or planar drivers to handle the treble frequencies. Upgrading a large dynamic driver is the most effective way to improve performance within the available limits.

The 13mm dynamic driver consists of a composite flexible suspension diaphragm with a titanium-plated dome, offering excellent treble extension and fine detail, with exceptional bass and superior low distortion.

The optimized driver unit is composed of an imported CCAW voice coil and a N52 magnetic assembly that delivers a more rapid response and a more consistent dynamic timbre.

TRAVEL GRANTS

The Wildlife Society, along with many TWS Chapters, Sections, and Working Groups, offer travel grants (mostly to students, but some are available to professionals) to attend the TWS Annual Conference and other TWS-related meetings. The following list details those currently offering travel grants.

Native Peoples’ Wildlife Management Working Group : Each year, up to 10 students who are members of a Native American, First Nations, or Indigenous Tribe, or identify as Native Alaskan or Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, will be selected to attend TWS’ Annual Conference as part of the Native Student Professional Development Program . This includes complimentary registration, hotel, travel grant, and more. More info to come.

Wisconsin Chapter: Accepting applications from professional members (students are not eligible, they have another source of funding from WCTWS) for one travel grant up to $1,500 to help defer expenses related to attending the TWS Annual Conference. This grant opportunity is being offered to WCTWS members who otherwise would not be able to participate in the national conference because of financial restrictions. More info to come.

Biometrics Working Group : Travel grants of at least $750 are available for up to 5 student members of TWS (membership to the BWG not required) that are presenting papers or posters at TWS’ 2023 Annual Conference. Current students (undergraduate and graduate) and recent graduates (individuals that graduated within two years of the scheduled conference) are eligible for these travel grants. Maine Chapter : Financial support (up to $500 for individuals and up to $1,000 for groups) is available for student travel and professional development from the Chapter’s Student Support Fund. Applications are due  February 1  of each year. More info is available  here .

North Carolina Chapter : Provides one travel grant for $1,000 to one member of the North Carolina Chapter to assist in offsetting the cost of attending the 2023 TWS Annual Conference. Applications are due July 21 . More info is available here .

Pennsylvania Chapter : One professional development grant of up to $1,000 is offered each year to a non-student member of the Pennsylvania Chapter of TWS. The deadline is  February 15  of each year. More info is available  here .

The Wildlife Society : Students whose research has been accepted for the Annual Conference may apply for travel grants of $500. The application will be posted here for the 2024 annual conference when it’s available (around May 31).

Biological Diversity Working Group : One travel grant of up to $500 is available for a TWS student member presenting a paper or poster with a focus on protecting biodiversity at The Wildlife Society’s Annual Conference. The deadline to apply is September 1, 2023 . More information is available here .

Central Mountains and Plains Section : See the CMPS website for information on our Wayne Sandfort Student Travel Grants available for TWS’ Annual Conference. Please contact CMPS President Stephanie Ferrero ( [email protected] ) or President-Elect Embere Hall ( [email protected] ) if you have any questions.

North Carolina Chapter : Professional development grants are funded on a semiannual basis (one per cycle, up to $250 each) and are available to a member of the North Carolina Chapter of The Wildlife Society to help offset the cost of attending a professional conference, professional development workshop, training, or other appropriate professional development program. Applications are due by  January 31 (first cycle) or  June 30  (second cycle) of each year. Please contact the Chapter’s Grants and Finance Committee Chair, Jamie Sasser, at  [email protected] , with any questions.

Colorado Chapter : Two travel grants for $500 each are available to members of the Colorado Chapter attending a meeting or workshop. Applications are due by   August 1 .  More info is available  here .

College and University Education Working Group : One travel grant is awarded to a new instructor of wildlife courses or an instructor who transitioned into a new teaching position. Awardees should attend the Working Group annual meeting. Applications are due by May 1 .  If not awarded, applications submitted by September 1 will be considered. More info is available here .

Wyoming Chapter : Professional and student travel grants of $500 are available to Wyoming Chapter members that will be attending TWS’ Annual Conference. The application period is closed for the 2023/2024 fiscal year.

Human Dimensions Working Group : Up to two travel grants are available to help human dimensions professionals and students interested in human dimensions participate in the Annual Conference of The Wildlife Society. This grant will cover up to $500 of the recipient’s travel and registration costs. More info will be posted here when available.

Invasive Species Working Group : Three $500 scholarships are available to ISWG members to attend TWS’ Annual Conference. Scholarship recipients will include one undergraduate, one masters, and one Ph.D. student. Students must be currently enrolled in a wildlife biology, wildlife or land management, ecology, or a similar program and planning to attend the conference. Graduate students must be presenting original research on invasive species ecology or management at the conference. The selected undergraduate student must be available to assist with the ISWG symposium. More info will be posted here when available. 

Out in The Field : Two travel grants for $500 each and a $250 travel grant (provided by TWS’ Biological Diversity Working Group) are available to LGBTQ+ members of TWS (students and professionals) to assist them in offsetting the cost of attending TWS’ Annual Conference. Wildlife Diseases Working Group : Student travel awards of $500 are available to attend TWS’ Annual Conference. More info will be posted when available. 

Molecular Ecology Working Group : Travel grants of $500 will be awarded to TWS student members attending The Wildlife Society’s Annual Conference. This award will be given to two current or recently graduated students. The deadline to apply is  July 31 . Click here for further details.

Habitat Restoration and Conservation Working Group : Up to four $350 scholarships are available to aid new professionals, graduate students, and/or presenters focusing on the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration or Ecological Restoration broadly, attending the 2023 TWS Annual Conference. Missouri Chapter: Professional development travel grants are offered each year. The winter/spring deadline is February 15 and the summer deadline is August 15. More info is available here .
