Awesome, we love longer flights and are very adaptable to take you where you want to go. Whether  it's  cruising over Lake Tahoe, the Sierra  Mountain  or Carson Valley, we can cover a lot of ground with our maximum flight time of 1.5 hours.

Over lake tahoe's emerald bay, what to expect.

Our Discovery Flight consists of a one hour experience where you will be acquainted with our top of the line aircraft. We will go over what it takes to fly this wonderful machine and take off towards Emerald Bay while practicing some touch and go's on the water, low flying and also high altitude flight in Emerald Bay if the weather permits. You will have approximately 40 minutes of air time and will get to soar above Tahoe's beautiful turquoise waters. This flight will fulfill anyones bucket list and offers exciting views you'll remember forever! If you're adventurous, our FAA certified instructor will let you take the reins for part of this adventure, allowing you to fly Lake Tahoe's only amphibious powered hang glider. All flights are instructional and this time will count towards any pilot license in the USA.

Over lake tahoe's emerald bay & beyond, what to expect.

Our Introductory Flight is our recommended experience and will last approximately 1.5 hours. Here you will have a full 65 minutes of flight time covering everything of the Discovery flight as well as introduction to what these aircraft can do. We will fly into Emerald Bay weather permitting and exit to the north along the west shore of Lake Tahoe where you can see the spectacular colors of the turquoise lake! This flight will allow you to see the most spectacular parts of the lake from above and you will be hooked for life! Add a photo or video package to this flight and you will have memories that will last a lifetime. A truly unforgettable flight! All flights are instructional and this time will count towards any pilot license in the USA.

Let's take it to the next level! Here is your chance to try powered hang gliding around Lake Tahoe! A complete expedition of 90min flight time where you will be acquainted to what it takes to fly in this challenging environment while absorbing the spectacular views. You will have the opportunity to see Sand Harbor State Park, Marlette Lake, Emerald Bay, Cave Rock, and even the Carson Valley if the winds and weather permits! This is a spectacular experience and one that you will never forget! You get take the controls during the flight if you wish. Honolulu Soaring was formed in 1970 and has operated continuously from Dillingham Airfield on Oahu’s North Shore. At that time, Dillingham was an Air Force Base that had recently been deactivated. When Bill Star and Sam Bleadon came to Hawaii as recent college graduates, the best friends saw an opportunity. With the financial help of Sam’s dad, they started Honolulu Soaring with just one towplane and one glider. Sam Bleadon retired in 2007. Although Sam is retired, he still lends a hand on our Oahu glider tours.

We returned after 7 years to do a encore flight and found it to be just as exciting. Two of us squeezed into the backseat of the glider and off we went for a delightful half hour gliding and sight seeing.

The staff is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and always has your safety as a priority. Would definitely go again!

I did the aerobatic option and it was amazing. Sean was my pilot and a nice guy, it went from zero G to about 4G, it was completely unreal, very exhilarating. Something Different!

Booked online. Showed up early at the airport and spent some time chatting with the staff member there. My instructor was very confident and allowed me to fly once the tow plane was away. He talked me through some basic situations. The views were wonderful--especially along the North Shore.

What a unique way to experience the North Shore when so much focus is on beaches and underwater exploration. Definitely recommend for a new adventure.

I’m nervous to try hang gliding.  

Prepare to be pleasantly surprised once you're airborne! It's amazing how comfortable you'll feel up there. Picture this: gliding through the air in a hang glider feels as smooth as a buttery ride. And guess what? The pilot has some serious ninja-like control over that glider! They can make it dance in the sky, leaving you breathless (in a good way ), but don't worry— they'll only show off their skills if you give them the green light.  

Believe it or not , hang gliding is more about exhilaration than fear. It's a total adrenaline rush! You see, even those who thought they'd be nervous end up landing with a huge grin, only to declare, "Let's do it again!" It' s like a rollercoaster ride, but without the long queues and screaming children. Hang gliding has this magical effect on people, making them forget all about their nerves and embrace the sheer joy of soaring through the skies.  

What if I’m afraid of heights?  

Now, here's a fun fact: some folks fear heights because they're afraid of falling, b ut hang gliding is a whole different ball game! It's a favorite among those looking to conquer their fear of heights because, guess what? The anxiety that typically haunts them around ledges or high places seems to vanish into thin air when they're thousands of feet up in the sky. It's like a miraculous cure!  

You won't believe it, but even the coolest hang glider pilots will confess—they too have a fear of heights! It's like a secret club, where you get to soar with the brave and fearless while secretly acknowledging that heights can still give you butterflies. But fear not, my friend, because once you take to the skies, you'll be too busy feeling like a majestic bird to worry about a silly fear. So, let's spread those wings and conquer the skies together!  

What is the difference between hang gliding and paragliding?  

Hang gliding and paragliding may share the same airspace, but they're as different as night and day, or should I say, wing and wing. First up, we have hang gliding—controlled by the pilots themselves. These adventurous souls have the power in their hands (quite literally) to maneuver that magnificent wing-shaped contraption through the air. It's like being the captain of your own flying vessel!  

Now, let's move on to paragliding, the charming rebel of the air sports world. Instead of relying on the pilot's iron grip, paragliders play it cool and go with the flow. They're like the chill beach bums of the sky, casually relying on air pressure to keep their shape intact. It's as if they're saying, "Hey, breeze, do your thing, and I'll just enjoy the ride!"  

The main difference between hang gliding and paragliding boils down to control. Hang gliders are all about piloting prowess, while paragliders prefer to let the winds do their magic. Whichever you choose, prepare for an adventure that'll leave you breathless (in the best way possible)!

The duration of the flight can vary between 15 minutes to 1 hour, contingent upon the prevailing weather conditions. Soaring from these heights, you'll be treated to an awe-inspiring panorama amidst the majestic mountains of northern Medellín. Your vantage point will allow you to glimpse charming villages nestled further north, enhancing the visual spectacle. This is a remarkable and exhilarating adventure, infused with adrenaline and excitement. After your flight, you'll gracefully land in the municipality of Barbosa, where a delightful assortment of soda drink awaits your enjoyment, putting the perfect finishing touch on this remarkable journey. This short Moscow tour will give you a true taste of the history, culture and incomparable urban vibe that define one of the world’s largest metropolises. In just three days, this Moscow itinerary takes in all the most iconic sights of this attraction-packed destination. After two and half days getting acquainted with the city, we’ve set time aside for you to explore Moscow your way and discover your own favourite hang-outs in a city overflowing with hidden treasures

3-Day Moscow Tour Highlights:

• Panoramic Tour of Moscow: See Moscow beyond the postcard images on a private excursion by car through the city streets including a drive along the banks of the Moskva River. Visit the famous Bolshoi Theatre, pass by Gorky Park and the Novodevichy Convent, and admire the city from on high at the Sparrow Hill observation platform.
• Moscow Historical City Centre Guided Walking Tour : Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the world’s biggest metropolises and discover local haunts on foot, including the Red Square, the Kremlin and the multi-coloured domes of St Basil’s Cathedral.
• Armory Chamber tour: Explore the endless treasures of this unique museum, displaying the wealth accumulated by Russian rulers from the 12th century until the October Revolution of 1917. Walking through the exhibition halls is a journey through the centuries.
• Moscow Metro Tour : Go deep underground on a subway tour of the famous Moscow metro. The world’s deepest metro system is renowned for its palatial, art-adorned stations, complete with marble columns and chandeliers.

On your first day, you’ll be treated to a panoramic, drive-by tour of Moscow to get a feel for the immense scale of one of the world’s most rapidly developing urban centres. The city’s history unfolds in real-time as you pass lavish imperial mansions, solemn Soviet structures and luxurious modern shopping centres.

Day two kicks off exploring Moscow’s historic centre on foot, followed by a tour of the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power and political intrigue for centuries. Stand in the Red Square, surrounded by the stunning architecture as you hear stories of the people and events behind many of Moscow’s most iconic landmarks.

On your final day, we’ll head beneath the city for a tour of the Moscow Metro and its famously ornate underground stations. Art lovers should hit up one of Moscow’s many world-class galleries such as the Tretyakov State Gallery, the Pushkin Museum or Garage, Moscow’s cutting-edge contemporary art museum. History fans can follow a Soviet trail through the city including Stalin’s Bunker, while those seeking a more indulgent experience can browse trendy neighbourhoods like Kitay Gorod or shop for everything from fashion to kitsch souvenirs at the enchanting Izmaylovo Flea Market. Foodies can head to one of the countless speciality stores sampling vodka, caviar and chocolate.

If you only have a few days to spend in Moscow, this tour will ensure you make the most of your time in the city. Let the experts navigate you through this complex and occasionally overwhelming capital, giving you plenty of time to soak up the city’s most unmissable attractions.

Day 1 Panoramic city tour

Welcome to the glorious capital of Russia, Moscow! You’ll be met by your driver at the airport and taken to your centrally located hotel.

After check-in and rest, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby for a comprehensive tour of Moscow by car. Visit the starkly contrasting Theatre Square to see the stunning Bolshoi Theatre, pass Tverskaya Street, the city’s main boulevard and home to the landmark Yeleseyevskiy Grocery Store.

You’ll enjoy a panoramic drive along the Moskva River, where a huge, controversial state of Peter the Great was erected. Pass by the legendary Gorky Park and the White House before a stop at the architecturally stunning Novodevichy Convent, and the observation platform at Sparrow Hills, for a bird’s eye view over this staggering megalopolis.

Day 2 Red Square and Kremlin

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical city centre. Stroll through the Red Square, the hub of cultural life in Moscow, with its elaborate ‘stone flower’ fountain and fantasy-like St Basil’s Cathedral – a postcard-perfect symbol of the nation. Admire the grandiose façade of GUM, the city’s most luxurious shopping centre, and visit Alexander’s Garden, with its eternal flame and the chance to watch a changing of the guards.

Break for lunch before continuing on a tour of the Kremlin and Armoury Chamber, famous of its collection of tsarist fashion, with regalia such as jewel-encrusted crowns, orbs and sceptres as well as arms and armour, exotic gifts from the leaders of faraway lands, and an illustrious case of Imperial Faberge eggs.

As an option* spend an evening on a sumptuous dinner cruise, taking in the stunning sights and city lights of this mesmerising metropolis by night.

Day 3 Metro and Arbat Street

Start a day with a tour of Metro, stopping on the way to marvel at some of the most elaborately decorated stations of the world-famous Moscow subway system. Take a stroll along Old Arbat street - the most famous street in Moscow. Through the centuries Arbat used to be one of the most bohemian places in Moscow. Today Arbat is a promenade full of small cozy cafes and street life.

The afternoon is free for you to either enjoy the rest of the day on your own or choose among optional excursions to explore more of Moscow. Visit the Tretyakov Gallery or Pushkin State Museum to admire Russian art. Join locals for a stroll at the Gorky or VDNH park.

Visit beautiful Kolomeskoye Estate or Izmailovo Kremlin, or spend a day exploring the beautiful city of the Golden Ring (Russian province) - Sergiev Posad. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your departure to your next destination.

Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. My free tours Moscow city starts on Slavonic Square (Kitay-Gorod Metro Station), passes the world-famous St. Basil’s Cathedral, which was built by Ivan the Terrible on the south side of Red Square in the 16th century and where the tsars were once crowned. Then it goes across the Red Square at the Lenin Mausoleum, the luxury department store GUM and with a view of the Kremlin towards the historical museum. Of course, you will also learn more about the stories that once happened behind the thick walls of the Kremlin – from the Tsars and Napoleon to Stalin. Then we continue through the idyllic Alexander Garden.

«First acquaintance with Moscow» – a 2.5-hour city tour in the center of Moscow

This Moscow city tour starts on the Theater Square, past Lubyanka Square and the KGB-building, then through Kitay Gorod district and Varvarka Street, past the world-famous St. Basil’s Cathedral. Then it goes across Zarjadje Park, over Red Square at the Lenin Mausoleum, the GUM-department store and towards the Historical Museum. We walk through the Alexander Garden.

A 3.5-hour car/bus tour of Moscow.

This is the best tour of Moscow city as all the important sights are visited. I am your Moscow city guide who will walk you through the city explaining the charming history of the city. This tour begins with picking you up from the hotel. 3 breaks are offered for photographing.

First, we will visit the most famous riverside streets and bridges in the center of the city with the most beautiful views of the Kremlin and the Moskva River (e.g. the Kremlin embankment and the Great Stone Bridge).

The first photo break is made at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. We then pass by the district with numerous museums, Prechistinka Street and the district with numerous medical areas.

We again stop at the Novodevichy Convent, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the other bank of the Moskva River to click pictures.

Then we visit “Sparrow Hills” where you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city of Moscow from the observation deck. Then there are the skyscrapers of Moscow-City, the Kutuzov avenue, the New Arbat, Tverskaya Street, the world-famous Bolshoi Theater, the KGB building and Varvarka Street. Here there are ample spots to click pictures.

We then drive past the Kremlin again and finally reach Red Square. We take a short tour of Red Square and say goodbye in the Alexander Garden.

Metro tour – daily

Palaces for ordinary people – that was what Stalin promised to the people when the construction of the Moscow Metro began between the World Wars. The communist dictator hadn’t promised too much. No other underground system in the world can boast such spectacular architecture – chandeliers, decorations, stucco, paintings on the walls – each station is individually designed. No wonder that Moscow residents love their metro. I will guide you through the bustle of one of the busiest subways in the world and show you the most beautiful stations Moscow city has.

Tour of Communist Moscow – every day

After the Communist October Revolution in 1918, Moscow became the capital of the Soviet Empire and was the center of socialist orbit for more than 70 years. This left its mark on Moscow, even if the USSR disintegrated more than a quarter of a century ago. The city streets are full of remnants of the communist regime and the Cold War. This is a walking tour where I will show you the most exciting places in Soviet Moscow: from the notorious KGB headquarters, also known as Lubyanka to the Karl Marx Monument to small hidden remains from the time of hammer and sickle. You will also learn about Stalin’s Great Terror political campaign and the system of the GULAG and how the USSR, the communist Russian republic, became modern Russia.

Alternative Moscow Tour – daily

Explore the unseen Moscow with your Moscow private guide and discover a range of sights during this alternative walking tour.  Away from the main tourist spots (in the central district of Kitay-Gorod), just a short walk from Red Square and St. Basil’s Cathedral, you suddenly find yourself in one of the trendiest districts of Moscow. This place not only has trendy cafes and green squares, but here you can see the most beautiful spray works (according to Albrecht Dürer), hangout-places of the youth and hipsters, as well as learn what Moscow looked like in the 19th century. Here you will also learn exciting and even bloody stories about famous gangsters, eccentric business people and legends like the wandering preacher Rasputin, who is known in Russia either as the “holy devil” or the mad monk. To learn a little more about Moscow’s culture, this is the tour for you. On my alternative tour, you will get to know Moscow away from the tourist hotspots. This tour is of 2 hours duration and you will experience the following on the tour:

• St. John’s Hill, a quiet oasis right in the center, where time has stopped as it did in pre-Communist times
• Khokhlovka Art Center, where Russian hipsters and street artists hang out

Kremlin tour – daily (closed on Thursday)

With its 20 towers and high walls, the Kremlin rises imposingly over Red Square. This world-famous fortress with its area of ​​28 hectares is home to over 800 years of Russian history. Described as the eighth wonder of the world, this historic fortress complex is the principal symbol of Russia that sits on the banks of the Moscow River. Today the Kremlin still harbors numerous secrets and has palaces and cathedrals, surrounded by Kremlin Wall. The current wall was constructed between the 15 th  and 16 th  centuries, but the original wall was made of wood around the year 1147. A military tour – riding on tanks in Stupino (Moscow region)

Russian Military is one of the largest military forces in the world formed in 1992. With my Military Tour experience what it likes to be in the Russian military, shooting guns, ride the Tank T-34 and various models of German tanks from the Second World War, as well as armored personnel carriers and vehicles. You will also shoot from the AK-47 and another combat weapon.

The tour will begin with your private tour guide Moscow in a Soviet army van accompanied with some tasty snacks and tea for a tasty start. Upon arriving, you will have to put on the army safety clothing and climb the Russian armored vehicles. The tour will take you on the noisy, smoky tank, driving through mud roads.
