36 Hours in Las Vegas

By Alex Schechter Updated April 13, 2023

  • Share full article

A view of a brightly lit skyline at night, with large hotels washed in colorful lights, a pink ferris wheel, a structure that looks like a hot-air balloon lit in blue and yellow neon, and a replica of the Eiffel Tower. A large fountain display sends dozens of jets of water shooting into the sky.

Las Vegas has rebranded itself in recent years. Ditching its former Sin City credo, it now aims to lure visitors with the promise of unique experiences. (The famous slogan that winked at its hedonistic reputation, “What happens here, stays here,” was subtly updated in 2020 to “What happens here, only happens here.”) Indeed, Vegas’s glut of entertainment options can lead to decision paralysis: Where else can you play 1960s pinball machines, see headliners like Adele and Bruno Mars , tuck into a 16-course underwater-themed banquet, and play poolside blackjack in the same night — all within view of the Rialto Bridge and the Eiffel Tower? The trick is knowing how to balance all the spectacle. More than ever, a well-rounded tour of Vegas requires going beyond the Strip: What you find may surprise you.

Recommendations

  • Red Rock Canyon , a popular hiking spot close to the city, offers a 13-mile driving loop, hiking trails and a stunning glimpse into Vegas’s ancient geology.
  • Chinatown , a one-stop shop for Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malaysian and other cuisines, is spread over a two-mile stretch of West Spring Mountain Road.
  • Area15 is a sprawling off-Strip arts complex that is home to interactive, often-psychedelic spaces like Omega Mart , Illuminarium and Lost Spirits , a circus-inspired rum distillery.
  • Wakuda Lounge offers sophisticated Japanese cocktails and adjoins a high-end sushi restaurant inside the Venetian hotel.
  • Piero’s serves Italian-American classics like veal parm and osso buco in a polished, old-school space.
  • PublicUs is a downtown cafe that hums on weekends, when locals stop in for Hawaiian loco moco, Belgian waffles and seriously strong cold brew.
  • 20,000 Leagues is an underwater-themed restaurant that serves 16 elaborate courses (with rum cocktails) in a space that resembles a Victorian-era submarine.
  • Easy’s , the Aria hotel’s not-so-secret speakeasy, pairs whimsical cocktails with live jazz.
  • 11th Street Records is a destination for vinyl fans, and has a recording studio.
  • Fergusons Downtown houses over a dozen independent retailers who sell anything from floral arrangements to artisanal dog food in a repurposed 1940s motel.
  • The Magician’s Study stages intimate, 90-minute magic shows in secret locations on the Strip.
  • Fremont Street Experience is a slice of pure Vegas kitsch; the five-block pedestrian mall unites a row of old-time casinos like the Golden Nugget and Main Street Station .
  • The Punk Rock Museum is an ode to the underground genre’s five-decade history, with guided tours by distinguished punk alumni.
  • The Beverly Theater is a new independent cinema that screens international and arthouse films.
  • Guardian Angel Cathedral , an oasis of calm just off the Strip, shows the talents of Paul Revere Williams, an influential midcentury-modern architect.
  • NoMad Las Vegas , a hotel inside a hotel, occupies the top four floors of the Park MGM on the Strip; among its perks is a sixth-floor rooftop pool inspired by Jardin Majorelle in Morocco. Rooms from $159.
  • Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has all the amenities of a major Strip casino, but sits a few blocks away from the action. The playful, 70s-inspired rooms (from $70) are spread among three towers which are named Opal, Canyon, Ruby; the last overlooks Elia Beach Club, an outdoor pool hangout that doubles as a live music venue in the summer.
  • El Cortez Hotel and Casino , in the heart of lively Fremont Street, isn’t just the oldest continuously running casino in Vegas, it’s also one of its best deals. Rooms (from $39) are all recently renovated, though the original Spanish Colonial-style building remains gloriously unchanged since 1941.
  • The Las Vegas Monorail ($5 each way) connects most of the major casinos on the Strip; there are also three independently operated trams (free) that provide direct links between select casinos. Beyond the Strip, rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft remain the best way to get around for those not renting a car.

A bartender wearing a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up stirs a cocktail behind a wooden bar. Behind him are illuminated shelves with many different bottles, which are lit up.

An earlier version of this article misstated a kind of fish served at Wakuda Lounge. It is kanpachi, not kampachi.

Have a weekend to explore a destination? We’ve got the perfect travel itinerary.

The Costco Traveler Blog

Vegas on a budget: 5 things to do for free, finding value at costco travel, members tell all: costco member hotel reviews, more about las vegas.

Las Vegas is a world of imagination. Just close your eyes and think about anything, and the odds are in your favor that you'll find it in Las Vegas. I mean, in only four miles of real estate, you can see relics from all parts of the world, like ancient Egypt, modern-day Venice, the streets of Paris, and the New York skyline. If that seems too kitschy, don't worry, there are plenty of elaborate resorts with non-stop gaming and over-the-top entertainment waiting to greet you. Where else in the world does a wonderland like this exist? Nowhere. But. Vegas.

The atmosphere of Las Vegas is something that you almost have to experience to understand fully. It's the ringing of chimes as a guest just hit the jackpot, the thumping bass from the club, the smell of unique and eclectic delicacies waiting to be tasted, and it's people-watching like nothing you've seen before. It's a never-ending source of irony and improbability where you can turn a chip and a chair into a million dollars.

For each visitor, Las Vegas is going to present a unique experience. It's like an equation where you + more = more of you: more chances to explore your personality, more opportunities to experiment with new ideas, and more thrills to discover around every corner. It's that reason alone that the sentiment "what happens here, stays here" is shared by so many visitors.

Before You Go

  • To make it easier to replace your passport if it’s lost or stolen, in addition to your passport, take a photocopy of your passport information page (keeping it separate from your actual passport).
  • Carry only a limited amount of cash, just enough for gratuities and incidental purchases. Major credit cards are widely accepted and can be replaced if lost or stolen.
  • Always lock your hotel room door (including patio and balcony door on any level of the building) and use the peephole before opening the door.
  • Store your valuables (such as cash, credit cards and airline tickets) in the hotel’s in-room safe or front desk safety deposit box.
  • If you must carry valuables on your person, do so in a pouch or money belt concealed under your clothing. Purses and backpacks can be easy targets for thieves.
  • For complete and current safety and security information, including travelers' tips, public announcements, travel advisories and more, please visit the website of the U.S. Department of State at www.travel.state.gov.
  • December through February: 60° to 66° (Winter)
  • March through May: 72° to 90° (Spring)
  • June through August: 102° to 104° (Summer)
  • September through November: 96° to 70° (Autumn)

The Vegas climate's bark is worse than its bite. Sure, summer highs hover around 100°F, but with no humidity and ever-present air-conditioning, you'll be comfortable as long as you have water on hand. Even the warmer months (June-September) are entirely bearable if you hydrate. Luckily, with 300 days of sunshine a year, the chances of a rain-out are slim. On the other hand, nights can be chilly between late fall and early spring, so bring a sweater or windbreaker for your evening strolls beneath the neon-bathed skies. Las Vegas doesn't have a high or low season by the standard definition, but you'll find it the least crowded between November and January. Hotels are at their fullest July through October. Specific events—New Year's Eve, spring break, major conventions, sporting events—draw big crowds, so plan accordingly.

Visit the Sphere Visit the Sphere

When construction on the Sphere first began in 2019, the addition of yet another "world's largest" was met with a shrug. Las Vegas' skyline was already crammed with record-breaking, jaw-dropping attractions. Did the city really need one more? But when the Sphere's exterior LED screen switched on for the first time in 2023, suddenly this golf ball-shaped music and entertainment arena was all anyone could talk about. People crowded onto resort parking lot rooftops to watch as the largest spherical building on the planet transformed into a giant blinking eye, a swirling snow globe or a Space Age metallic orb.

At 366 feet tall, the Sphere is massive – taller than the Statue of Liberty . And the entire exterior of the building is cloaked in 1.2 million LED lights, which has the effect of transforming the Sphere into an almost lifelike replica of whatever images the screen projects. Visitors describe the Sphere as futuristic and otherworldly; like a piece of alien tech transported from another galaxy.

Bellagio Casino and Fountains Bellagio Casino and Fountains free

This Strip staple offers plenty of ways to lay your money on the line, from table games and slot machines to a race and sports book. This is also the choice casino among many high rollers due to its high-stakes tables. What's more, this casino hosts the World Poker Tour, among other tournaments. But there's more to the Bellagio than the casino floor.

Even those who don't gamble praise the Bellagio for its upscale atmosphere and variety of amenities and attractions. Anyone who's seen a movie set in Vegas will recognize the Bellagio's massive fountains: Every 15 to 30 minutes, those walking past the exterior of the Bellagio are treated to a complimentary light and water show with the fountain's jets shooting water into the air during intricately choreographed "dances" set to music.

Las Vegas knows how to go big – especially when it comes to entertainment . So, it should come as no surprise that a performance company like Cirque du Soleil thrives here. Translating to "Circus of the Sun," Cirque du Soleil is known for its incredible acrobatic feats, which are performed with an unrivaled level of artistry. There are six different Cirque shows in Las Vegas, all of which are performed at different casinos along the Strip .

The "LOVE" show (performed at The Mirage) pays tribute to the legendary rock band with aerial acrobatics, trampoline and roller skate acts.

The Venetian Casino and Grand Canal The Venetian Casino and Grand Canal free

Why spend the money to cross the Atlantic when you can get a taste of Italy right in Vegas? Nestled along the Strip , The Venetian replicates the highlights of Venice , complete with gondola rides along the Grand Canal . Visitors can get a taste of what life is like in the Queen of the Adriatic thanks to The Venetian's Streetmosphere program: singers, stilt walkers and "living statues" recreate the typical scene you'd likely encounter in the real Venice for those who opt to spend the day perusing the wares in the Grand Canal Shoppes.

For $39 per person, you can take a gondola ride along the hotel's Grand Canal (inside or outside) anytime between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday; on Friday and Saturday, gondola rides are offered until midnight. In addition to piloting the gondola, gondoliers serenade passengers as the boat glides beneath bridges, beside cafes and under balconies.

Caesars Palace Casino and The Forum Shops Caesars Palace Casino and The Forum Shops free

A staple of the Vegas Strip , Caesars Palace started welcoming visitors to Sin City beginning in the 1960s. Since then, it has made an appearance in such popular films as "Rain Man," "Iron Man" and "The Hangover." Those who choose to gamble at Caesars will find themselves in ancient Rome , with massive columns and frescoes paying tribute to the casino's namesake. Those who prefer to use their money in other ways can make their way to The Forum Shops – home to about 160 specialty stores and restaurants, including Tom Ford and Saint Laurent, as well as more affordable outlets like H&M and Nike.

Caesars Palace is also home to a variety of nightlife venues, including the 75,000-square-foot Omnia Nightclub and the trendy Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, a favorite among fans of the "Vanderpump Rules" reality television series. Meanwhile, the on-site Colosseum venue is home to musical residencies like Rod Stewart, Sting and Adele. Top restaurants include Nobu and Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen.

The Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino, known simply as "The Cosmo" by locals, is the hip, glitzy place to go to see and be seen. Although the 3,000-plus room casino no longer holds the title of the "newest casino on the Strip ," it has remained trendy since it opened in 2010, thanks to its thriving dining and nightlife scene.

Known for both its in-your-face opulence and its hidden, "underground" entertainment, the Cosmo is a modern, high-end alternative to some of the Strip's over-the-top themed resorts. The Cosmo has not one, but three speakeasies (one of which is hidden behind a door marked "Janitor" inside a barbershop), a hidden restaurant disguised as a pawn shop, and the popular

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Located about 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip , the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers travelers a respite from downtown Las Vegas' unnatural neon landscape. Though you can opt to follow the 13-mile scenic car route through the desert, make the most of your visit by stretching your legs along the numerous hiking and biking trails that dot the one-way route. No matter how you choose to explore the 195,819-acre area, you'll find yourself surrounded by the beautiful Mojave Desert and its signature red hills.

According to previous Red Rock Canyon visitors, a trip here is well worth leaving the casino floor behind. Recent travelers recommended getting out of your car to explore, but suggest you plan hikes or biking excursions during the cooler mornings rather than the sweltering afternoons. Reviewers also say the road is well-maintained and appreciate the abundance of restrooms along the way. Travelers also suggest stopping by the visitor center to peruse the informative exhibits. Last, but certainly not least, slather on sunscreen, bring a hat and pack plenty of water.

Tickets to the tower's observation deck cost $25 for adults and $19 for kids ages 4 to 12. Similar to the real tower in Paris, the Las Vegas Eiffel Tower stages a free recurring light show every 30 minutes from sunset to midnight daily. Circa Resort & Casino Circa Resort & Casino free

When Circa Resort & Casino held its grand opening in 2020, it was the first new casino to open in downtown Las Vegas in more than 40 years. The chic, 35-story-tall addition to this old Las Vegas neighborhood has all the modern features of a 21st-century casino, including a high-tech parking garage named the Garage Mahal and a three-story-tall sportsbook (the world's largest). But the adults-only casino also has a distinctly vintage Vegas vibe, too. Circa's interior features midcentury lighting and accents, globe chandeliers and the iconic "Vegas Vickie," a giant neon cowgirl that hovers over the casino lobby.

The most talked-about attraction among recent visitors at Circa, however, is Stadium Swim, a mashup of a concert stadium and a swimming pool amphitheater. Guests can lounge in one of six pools while they catch a sports game or concert on the 40-foot screen above. The pool is heated and remains open year-round, which makes it a popular lounge spot on desert spring days. Those wishing to visit the pool area must be a guest at the resort or pay a fee; a general admission day pass to Stadium Swim start at $25 per person. At 11 stories tall, SlotZilla is billed as the world’s largest slot machine and as a zip line offers riders two options: On the lower line, Zip-Zilla, participants ride in a seated position, zipping along at 77 feet in the air. The line travels about halfway through the Fremont Street Experience. The higher zip line, known as Super-Hero Zoom, rises 114 feet high. Patrons ride “superhero-style” (with their bodies parallel to the ground) to the other end of the street and are dropped off at the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino. Guests should allot one hour for the entire experience, even though the rides are 30 seconds and one minute, respectively. In addition to a weight check and harness fitting, you’ll have to go through a brief safety training.

April in Las Vegas: Weather, What to Pack, and What to See

April is one of the best times of year for visiting Sin City. Temperatures are rising and spring in the desert is delightfully warm while still being a couple of months shy of the scorching days of summer. Plus, the famous Las Vegas pools that close down for the winter are finally re-opened for lounging around in the afternoons. If you need a break from the casinos then April is ideal for exploring all of the natural wonders that are in the Las Vegas area.

Depending on when in April you visit, it can either be low-season or high-season. The first part of the month is right in the spring break period , especially when Easter falls in April. Since the city is uber-popular with college students, expect extra big crowds during this time. But if you're flexible with your schedule and can visit in the second half of April, you should be able to find unbeatable deals.

Las Vegas Weather in April

April weather in Las Vegas is ideal for everything. This is the time of the year when you consider relocating to Las Vegas because the daytime temperatures are mild yet the sun sits high in the sky. Nighttime temperatures dip a bit as is typical in desert climates, but it's still comfortable enough to walk around the Strip. There is an occasional April shower but those are rare.

  • Average High Temperature : 78 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius)
  • Average Low Temperature : 51 degrees Fahrenheit (11 degrees Celsius)

All in all, April is great weather for being outdoors, whether you want to take advantage of the fresh pool season or maybe hit some balls on the golf course . Enjoy it while you can, because coming back in the summer makes it hard to stay outside for any extended period of time and you'll just be on the lookout for the nearest building with air conditioning.

What to Pack

Sunny days with mild temperatures make for easy packing . Bring along T-shirts, shorts, jeans, and a swimsuit for enjoying the pools. Nights do cool down, so be sure to bring along a sweater or jacket for getting around once the sun goes down.

Comfortable walking shoes are very important, since walking around the Strip is one of the easiest ways to get around (and most fun with everything there is to see). If you plan on visiting high-end restaurants or nightclubs, keep in mind that many of them adhere to a nicer-than-casual dress code. Just in case, make sure you have some dark pants, a nice shirt or a dress, and footwear other than tennis shoes.

April Events in Las Vegas

The best times to visit Las Vegas

Las Vegas Bellagio

When isn't it a good time to visit Las Vegas? It's a tough question, as Las Vegas is vibrant and lively 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Still, there are some times that are better than others to visit, especially since the city sits in the middle of the Nevada desert and temperatures can range from one extreme to another.

We'll walk you through the best times to plan your trip to Sin City, whether you're looking for the best weather, the splashiest events or the fewest crowds.

For more TPG news delivered each morning to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter .

When to find the best weather

Temperatures in Las Vegas can swing wildly, depending on the time of year you visit.

The average high in summer soars above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which means that walking down The Strip becomes a sweaty chore and heat stroke can be a real possibility. In the winter, temperatures can plummet below freezing, which makes the outdoor walk equally unappealing.

Luckily, some of the hotels are connected by indoor walkways to protect you from the elements. However, you'll still need to venture outside every once in a while.

Related: 10 things no one tells you about Las Vegas

For the best weather, head to Las Vegas in March, April, October or November, when temperatures range around a pleasant 50-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid January, February and December when the coldest weather is most likely. Likewise, steer clear of July and August to avoid the hottest days.

Best times to visit to avoid the crowds

Contrary to what you might expect, you'll probably find the lightest crowds during the months with the best weather.

In the fall, when school is back in session, there are fewer tourists. (Yes, people do bring kids to Sin City and there are plenty of activities in Las Vegas for families.)

Similarly, after all the holiday parties end (and excluding spring break), you'll find late winter and spring to be the emptiest. Though you'd think scalding temperatures would scare most folks away, exciting large-scale events like Fourth of July fireworks combined with an abundance of air conditioning mean the city remains busy even at the height of summer.

When to visit for festivals and events

In the city that seems to go full-throttle day and night, you'll never run out of things to do. From extravagant rooftop clubs to entire theme parks built indoors, Las Vegas is a Pandora's box of gambling, eating, concerts, shows, drinking and more.

Shows and concerts rotate on various schedules, so there's always something new to check out. Despite this, some times are better than others for annual events.

For music lovers, the Billboard Music Awards and the Academy of Country Music's Country Music Awards (CMA)* both take place in spring, and these events draw crowds.

If you love food, Bon Appetit's Uncork'd is Las Vegas' busiest festival. Celebrity chefs turn up (often in their own restaurants) for unique master classes, galas, wine tastings and more. It's a gut-buster in the best way. NASCAR also hosts its first of two Las Vegas events each year on the first weekend of March.

*Note that the CMAs were held in Nashville in 2022 but are returning to Las Vegas in 2023.

As befits the home of hundreds of casinos, the World Series of Poker takes place in Las Vegas every year, stretching across nearly three months. Give the tournament a shot or just stick around to watch as the big names come in to compete for a multimillion-dollar prize.

Even bigger than the WSOP are the Independence Day celebrations, and you'll find huge parties everywhere you look. Nearly a dozen different casinos put on fireworks shows, and you can basically stroll into any restaurant, bar or casino to find a celebration. If you're looking for a real party, though, plan ahead. Reservations will be required for most, and they book up early.

Festivals come back to life as temperatures cool. The iHeart Radio Music Festival happens in September, drawings thousands of attendees from around the country to see big-name artists.

September also brings football, as the Raiders (the city's NFL team) kick off the season, which runs through early January. Every October, the Rise Festival takes place outside the city in the Mojave Desert. It features entertainment, food and artistic spaces, then closes out festivities with the world's largest sky lantern release.

NASCAR's second Las Vegas event of the year is held every October, which is also the month when the Golden Knights (Vegas's NHL hockey team) start their season, which runs through early June.

Finally, if all this isn't enough, you can attend the Las Vegas Greek Festival to sample delicious food as well as music and dancing over a weekend in September (the 23-25 this year).

Though the desert can get very cold in the winter, December is one of the best months to visit Las Vegas.

For college football fans, the Las Vegas Bowl usually takes place just before Christmas. Also, New Year's Eve is even bigger than the Fourth of July, with sold-out hotels and casinos putting on massive shows to celebrate the new year. The streets will be packed and the rooms pricey, so arrange your stay far in advance if you plan to visit during this time.

The first floor of the Bellagio also showcases massive holiday displays during the winter. In late winter, check out the Rock n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon, which, because it's Vegas, is run at night during February and has a party atmosphere.

The best time to see the Bellagio fountain show

vegas trip in april 2023

The water show in front of the Bellagio runs daily unless it's canceled due to severe circumstances like bad weather. While there's a timetable for when the shows occur , not all viewings are created equal.

At present, you can view the fountain show on weekdays at intervals of every 30 minutes between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and at intervals of every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight. On weekends, the show occurs every 30 minutes from noon to 8 p.m. and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The best time to see the Bellagio fountain is after sunset because the lights add so much to the show. During the daytime, you won't see these as clearly. It also may be much hotter when watching the show in the daytime, as there are not many places to stand in the shade while getting a good view.

If you're looking for a great vantage point and are willing to pay for premium space where you don't have to fight the crowds, consider booking a reservation at one of the restaurants with views over the fountain or a room at the Bellagio with views of the display.

For those looking to see the Bellagio fountain show for free, you can stand on one of three sides of the water. Along the Strip, there's ample space on the sidewalk to view the show with the Bellagio in the background (seen above).

If you're coming from inside the Bellagio, exit the lobby and head down the steps or walkway on your left side. From here, you can watch the water show looking out toward the Strip and the Paris Las Vegas beyond (seen below).

The best time for affordable airfare

Fortunately for visitors, the city of Las Vegas exists almost solely to bring in tourists.

This means that cheap airfare can typically be found year-round, with McCarran International Airport (LAS) hosting airlines from around the world, including several small regional carriers based around the U.S. Heck, we've even seen $15 one-way fares to Las Vegas on Frontier from many U.S. gateways.

For the best prices, avoid the traditional high seasons for flying and focus on the months of September-November and January-April (excluding spring break).

The best time for affordable hotels

Hotels run the gamut in Las Vegas, from ultra-cheap $10-per-night specials to expansive penthouses that'll happily ring you up for thousands of dollars.

Vegas is rife with chain hotels and opportunities to redeem points , but be aware of which hotels offer things like waived resort fees on award stays versus those that don't, as the city is one of the worst offenders when it comes to stacking on amenity or resort fees.

Though some hotels are beginning to offer free parking , you can still be on the hook for major money if you're not careful about where you stay. For the cheapest times, visit during the shoulder season of September–November and January–April.

You can even find low rates during the summer when the city is at its hottest. However, avoid major holidays and aim for stays starting on Sundays, when the weekend crowds dissipate.

What to Pack for Vegas (Printable Packing List Included)

Woohoo! You’ve booked your tickets and now you just need to decide what to pack for Vegas ! When deciding what to wear in Las Vegas, know that in Vegas… anything goes! You will see people dressed to the nines, alongside others wearing tracksuits & sneaker.

Deciding on your clothes for Vegas will depend on what your trip to Vegas is all about. Are you going for a bachelorette weekend, to see shows, hit the spa, lounge by the pool, indulge at buffets… or all of the above?

Time of year will also hugely affect what to wear to Vegas. What to wear in Vegas in January differs dramatically compared to what to wear in Vegas in July. Being in the desert means temperatures in Las Vegas really fluctuate throughout the year. See the seasonal variations I’ve given at the end of the post for temperature charts on what weather you can expect, winter Vegas outfits and Vegas summer outfits.

My Vegas packing list will help your organise your outfits to wear in Vegas, pack your bag and get ready for your exciting trip to Sin City! You can download a PDF Vegas packing checklist to print out at the bottom of this post.

What You'll Find in This Post

How to Dress in Vegas (Dress Codes)

You might be surprised to learn that most of the casinos floors have NO dress code. If you’re just mooching about the casinos in the day you don’t need to worry about what you’re wearing. Even shorts & flip flops or track pants & sneakers are OK. By night you might want to put a little more effort in and dress the part but you won’t be turned away if you don’t. Casinos want you to gamble, no matter what you’re wearing.

Hotels ask you to wear pool cover ups or robes from the room to the pool. You also won’t be allowed to take the pool towel to your room so it makes sense to bring along a pool cover up or two.

Las Vegas night clubs do have a dress code. It’s stricter for men than it is for women. Men should wear “business casual” attire – jeans or pants, collared shirt and dress shoes. Women can wear any form of party or cocktail dresses, jumpsuits or even nice shorts with heels.

Fine dining restaurants, like Joël Robuchon at MGM , do have a formal dress code. Men need to wear suits and women need to wear elegant cocktail dresses.

What to Wear in Vegas (Women)

Many women struggle with what to wear to Las Vegas. It can be hard deciding what to pack for Las Vegas but if you lay out some ideas in your head or even physically on your bed before you go you’ll have no trouble. Las Vegas is pretty casual by day so you can wander around in what you’d wear for a trip to the mall or shopping with friends. What to wear for Vegas at night can go from extremely casual just hanging out on the casino floor in jeans & flats to ultra-glam cocktail attire.  It depends somewhat on your trip.

  • A mom going with her family will need shorts, jeans and tops for day & night. Don’t forget there are lots of fun things to do in Las Vegas with kids .
  • For a romantic weekend away with the hubby, pack great outfits for dinner, some easy day wear for activities and some sexy sleepwear. 😉
  • If you’re going for a bachelorette party weekend, bring heels and plenty of dress options for evening. Through in some comfortable clothes for daytime sightseeing and pool wear and you’re set.

What to Wear in Vegas (Men)

What do guys wear in Vegas? When deciding what to wear in Vegas for men, again, you need to pack for the activities that you’re planning. Men can’t go wrong with shorts & jeans teamed with tees & short sleeved shirts for day. Business casual is what men should wear in Vegas in the evening. A long-sleeved shirt, pants and dress shoes. If you’re doing any fine dining at restaurants with dress codes you’ll also need a suit and tie.

Vegas Outfits Ideas

I’ve put together a few ideas on clothes to wear in Vegas in the above graphic. You can find the links to all the clothes in the graphic listed in the packing list for Vegas below. I like to pack light so all the Vegas clothes I’ve selected mix & match with one another. This is just to give you an example of what Vegas wear looks like. It’s not a definitive list although if you wanted to pack really light this is all you’d need. For more outfit options through in a couple of more casual and evening tops, another pair of jeans or pants and a little black dress that you can dress up or down. Voila! You’re done.

Vegas Day Outfits

Want to know what to wear in Vegas during the day? Really anything goes. Your day outfits for Vegas depending on what you’re doing. Most likely you’ll be wandering The Strip, popping in and out of casinos, maybe doing a spot of shopping or riding roller coasters. Vegas day wear is pretty casual and fun. You’ll see shorts, t-shirts & sneakers or sandals wandering up and down The Strip in summer. There’s no other choice when it’s 115 degrees out! What to wear during the day in Vegas outside the hot summer months, you’ll find jeans the staple along with t-shirts or nice tops paired with sneakers or ballet flats. Just aim for what you’d wear on a trip to the mall or to meet friends for lunch at home.

What to Wear to Vegas Shows

If you’re wondering what to wear to a Las Vegas show, stop! You can pretty much wear whatever you want. Daytime shoes are super casual. Wear t-shirts with shorts or jeans. No swimwear obviously. Flip flops or sneakers are fine. By night, you can wear whatever you like to a show. Dress up if you’re going out for a nice dinner beforehand or to a club or the casino afterwards. If you’re just catching a show after a busy day shopping or sightseeing, you can wear jeans, shorts or even activewear. Really, no one really cares what to wear to Las Vegas shows!

What to Wear in Las Vegas Clubs

As mentioned above in the dress code section, Las Vegas attire for clubs is business casual for men. Collared shirts, slacks and dress shoes are pretty much the usual. You won’t see many men being admitted in sneakers & tees unless they’re high rollers. For women, a cocktail dress or party dress is the best choice of dresses to wear in Vegas. Think about what you’d wear to a New Year’s Eve party and that’s what people wear in Vegas on a night out clubbing.

Las Vegas Packing List

Here’s a list of what to bring to Las Vegas based on my suggestions above. Obviously you can omit the fancier clothes if you’re not planning on doing any fine dining or nightclubs. This list of what to pack for a trip to Las Vegas is good for a long weekend trip and will cover you for 3-4 days easily. If you’re planning a longer trip just add another couple of tops and bottoms to your list. Easy! You’ll find a printable version of this Vegas vacation checklist further down in this post.

  • 1-2 pair of jeans – Include one pair of dark jeans for evening
  • 1-2 pair of shorts
  • Dress pants (men)
  • 2-3 casual tops or t-shirts
  • 2-3 nice tops for women or shirts for men
  • Little black dress
  • Cocktail/party dress
  • Suit & tie for men (if planning on doing any fine dining)
  • Workout wear

Accessories

  • Cross-body bag for day – These ones have anti-theft technology built in.
  • Evening purse – Something with a strap is useful rather than a clutch only.
  • Statement jewellery
  • Lightweight chiffon scarf for sun protection
  • Cap (for men)
  • Sunglasses – The casinos may be dark but once you’re outside it’s so bright under the Las Vegas sun!
  • Watch – Watches are quite useful things to pack for Las Vegas as you’ll never see a clock in a casino!
  • Belt (for men)
  • Sneakers – These are the absolute best sneakers for travel . I couldn’t travel without them! They’re so comfy and can be worn all day. Great for walking up & down the Las Vegas Strip.

  • Ballet flats
  • Heels for women
  • Dress shoes for men
  • 2-3 swimsuits (depending on season)
  • Pool coverup or kimono top
  • UV rash vest for men and for kids
  • Beach tote to take down to the pool – A folding one like this is fantastic for travel and can be folded up to store in your luggage
  • Dry bag for your swimsuit – Using a wet & dry bag like this means you can swim before your flight out and not worry about a wet swimsuit in your luggage!

Other Things to Bring to Vegas

There are a few things to pack for Vegas that you might not think! From the amount of times I’ve been, I know what to bring to Vegas. Some stuff is just more expensive or difficult to find in the casinos and shops on The Strip. On my list of what to take to Vegas are some items for the harder partier, to prevent sore feet and hangovers, of course. Pick and choose from these things to take to Vegas depending on what you think you’d need.

  • Curling iron (travel size) or hair straightener (travel size)
  • Waterproof iPhone case – Take photos, update social media or use your phone in the pool.
  • Selfie stick – A must have on your list of things to bring to Las Vegas for Strip-side selfies.
  • Hangover supplies – Vegas necessities! Pack a small Ziploc bag with everything you need on hand to battle a hangover like painkillers , rehydration sachets or  hangover supplements.
  • Gel cushions for wearing heels – Vegas essentials for ladies on a big night out dancing!
  • Folding ballet flats for your purse – So you can escape your high heels if you have to!
  • Condoms – Because what happens it Vegas might not actually stay in Vegas 😉
  • E-cigars or cigarettes
  • Kindle – Loaded with books for reading on the plane and by the pool.
  • Phone, iPad and laptop – Whatever you think you’ll need for your trip!
  • All chargers for your electronics

Seasonal Variations When Packing for Las Vegas

The packing list I’ve included above is for the warmer months. For the winter & fall months, there are a few other items I would suggest.

  • What to wear in Las Vegas in January – January is the coldest month in Las Vegas. Many of the hotels shut their pools over winter as they are not heated or only open the hot tub in daylight hours. You’ll only need one bathing suit. Bring along an extra pair of jeans, an extra cardigan or sweater and a winter jacket. Merino layers are great for travel  and provide warmth without weight. Packable down jackets like this are good for warmth without bulk. Don’t bring a jacket or coat that you cannot wash as walking through smokey casinos can make your clothes smell. Forget the sandals and bring ankle boots & socks.
  • What to wear in Vegas in February – Pack as you would for January. You’ll still get a lot of sunshine in Las Vegas in winter so don’t forget the sunglasses.
  • What to wear in Vegas in March – March is a little warmer but I’d still recommend packing a jacket. It’s often very sunny in Vegas and might look warmer than you think it is. Once you step into the shade it can still be quite cold. You probably don’t need a down jacket but a lighter winter jacket would still be a good idea.
  • What to wear in Vegas in April – It’s April so pack your sandals again! The weather in April in Vegas is lovely in the daytime. I’d recommend packing a few warmer items just in case of temperature dips and a nice jacket to wear on cooler evenings.
  • What to pack for Vegas in May – Pack for lovely warm weather as listed in the packing list above. May is a perfect month to visit Vegas. Not too hot and not too cold.
  • What to wear in Vegas in June – You can ditch the jeans unless you plan on travelling in them or wearing them inside at night.
  • What to wear in Las Vegas in July – Forgo the jeans altogether and replace with denim shorts or a summer dress.  A maxi dress like this is perfect.
  • What to pack for Vegas in August – Pack the same as you would in July. It’s super hot in Vegas!
  • What to wear in vegas in September – The main packing list is perfect for September in Las Vegas.
  • What to wear in Vegas in October – Stick to the main packing list. October is a great month to visit Las Vegas.
  • What to wear in Vegas in November – Pack as you would for March.
  • What to wear in Vegas in December – Pack as your would for January.

What Not to Wear in Vegas

Now you know what to wear out in Vegas, here are just a couple of things that you should not add to your list of things to take to Las Vegas:

  • Jorts for men
  • This t-shirt! – It stopped being funny years ago!
  • Short + tight + shiny dresses – Keep it classy and pick a dress that is only one or two of the three!

How to Pack for Las Vegas

I love to pack light and travel carry on only so when you’re packing for Vegas I would recommend doing the same.

  • Carry on sized suitcase – This one comes highly recommended!
  • Packing cubes – My biggest tip for how to pack for Vegas is to use packing cubes to organise your luggage. Put your tops in one, your bottoms in another. Keep a small cube just for underwear and another for swimwear.  Read my complete guide to packing cubes here including a video on how to use them!
  • Ziploc bags – These are great for organising all your little bits and pieces like cellphone chargers, medication and makeup
  • Toiletry bag – A bag for your toiletries is useful. These hanging ones are great for travel . Or use a gallon-sized Ziploc bag .
  • Wet & dry bag – As mentioned above, this is a great addition to your packing list for Las Vegas. It means you can spend your last day by the pool and not worry about having a wet bathing suit in your luggage.

Top 5 airlines flying to las vegas.

Inconsiderate staff, plane was very hot, poor decision-making from the crew.

Flight was delayed due to needing a replacement flight crew. Delta changed the aircraft type in Detroit. One hour delay. But once in the air, good flight

The fight was about 2 1/2 hours delayed, but that was weather related. The flight was also overbooked. But we were in Comfort plus so the flight was fine for us.

Meh. A late flight meant I missed my connections, and a 2pm LAX arrival turned into gettin in after midnight.

Flight was 3 hours late so only had an OK experience

It was very cold because the air conditioner was on high power, and my son got sick.

3 hours late and all they have is was a $12 meal voucher. That’s not even enough to cover fast food.

Among the poorest flights I’ve had with Delta in a while. Entertainment system failed completely on a 7.5 hr flight. Crew seemed distracted and not the normal friendly crew. Flight overbooked it seemed
 very crowded.

If I can, I always fly Delta. I’ve found their service to always be reliable and pleasant.

You could have not cancelled the flight (AA, which I will be flying from now on) left for BOS despite the fictitious weather issues (that no one in my Boston family could see). You could have rebooked my direct flight to another direct flight instead of sending me though JFK, the worst US airport after O’Hara You could have rebooked me on a Main Cabin seat (like the one I paid for in my original ticket instead of putting me a the last row on JFK->BOS leg, pocketing the difference in ticket price But I do not really care whether you will ever do that in a future because in a future neither I nor anyone from my company (unless they pay out of pocket) nor an of my clients and partners (if they heed my advice) will ever be caught dead on any of Delta flights

Nothing they cancelled my connection and couldn't get me on a flight for 3 more days

Was 4 1/2 hours delayed. No food options, poor entertainment and cramped seats made worse by people in front reclining while we could not as in back row.

The baggage handlers broke the handle on my bag that they put under the plane that I checked on the jetway. They traded it out for a less quality bag in Tulsa. But, they said they would try to fix it. Bologna! There was no fixing that bag handle. Someone didn’t care how they treated the bag.

The entertainment wasn’t playing in the app or online.

It is a modern tragedy that any airline expects you to travel for 14 hours in such discomfort and that the only way to add comfort is exorbitant prices. I was in pain by the time we landed. Shameful.

Original plane sidelined. Had to wait an hour for replacement.

Crew was very cooperative and professional. Passenger's first checked in bag should be free.

No real agent onsite helping you for missing luggage there. Not like the other airline next to UA desk, they have staff attending in their desk assisting answer/helping luggage issue, even after midnight.

Horrible, the flights kept delaying, so it is obvious that we won't be able to make it to the next connection. No easier/real agent on site to help you figure this out. UA agent on other counters refuse to assist you and direct us to use the QR code/call customer service. So inefficient and poor. While technology seems convenient, but it's not the best interest/experience for customers need help while there is active issue need assistance.

After the morning frenzy of 35 min wait through CLT security at 4;30 AM, it was nice to have a smooth pleasant boarding experience. This 6:30 AM flight was not full. We were able to get seated swiftly and took off promptly. Nice touch they distributed the old fashioned headsets with 8 mm jacks. Snacks were decent and arrival was uneventful.

The Airline was not prepared for weather delays. We were held up due to an incoming flight being delayed and so we did not have a flight crew. This caused an extra delay for departure by 2 hours.

When you pay for Premium Economy on an 787 and you’re promised amenities for the extra money, you expect them to work. They didn’t. USB connector wouldn’t charge continuously. 120v outlet wouldn’t hold anything you plugged into it. The adapter would just fall out. The noise canceling headphones stopped noise cancelling in the first 15 minutes for EVERYONE. No one on the plane knew how to fix it so I couldn’t listen to any movies. I just put in my AirPods and went to sleep. Very unhappy with the crappy Panasonic entertainment system. I won’t buy premium again.

Everything went on schedule so I have not much to say. I was a bit disappoint with the breakfast choice - I did not have a choice as there was only one option left by the time the trolly came to my end and I could not enjoy it.

Thankfully no connections off of this one on the day of the flight as it was delayed 90+ minutes.

The plane was freezing cold. Normally I’m fine on planes but I needed to toss a sweatshirt on this time.

It was a tiny plane. There was a very heavy, very sweaty man in my seat. When he got up, sweat was dripping down the back of f the seat from the headrest. I couldn’t lean back the whole flight. It was very hot in the plane until we took off. Then as we flew low hoping to land, but were delayed for over 30 minutes, the plane got very hot again. On takeoff, the pilot started accelerating hard around the corner, something I’ve never experienced in a plane. Landing was fairly rough as well and we had to brake hard.

WiFi was down so no entertainment and I could not work either. The flight was Very turbulent at the end (the last 20 min felt like an eternity) I appreciated the pilot for getting us there safely. The flight attending in first class was kind and attentive to everyone.

American Airlines actually put me on a Delta flight. They didn't have to do that. They could have offered me a flight the next day or even two days later. But, American Airlines agents put me on a Delta airplane from Atlanta to Sao Paulo, instead of going through Miami when my flight to Miami was cancelled. American Airlines made sure that I got to my destination on time. I appreciate that.

Unfriendly gate staff and significant delay once we were on the plane.

The gate crew did try to help, however they lacked the information as to whether the flight will operate or not. Being delayed 6 hours and in a limbo on whether the flight will operate or not is not fun. The airline having staffing issues is not encouraging at all.

I thought people that were clearly intoxicated were not allowed to board flights. But of course they let them and of course they sat directly behind us. Kicking seats being so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. Cussing loudly telling a woman “she was going to punch her in the fucken face” for accidentally mixing her seat assignment up. These people should have been asked to get off the plane but no flight attendant cared. I don’t think I’ll be using spirit again. Better judgment needs to be used when letting people fly drunk.

Terrible legroom, seats do not recline, tray table the size of an iPhone, delayed flight, have to pay 5$ to get a cup of water onboard.

The flight was on time and nice as always for me with spirit but the cabin crew were not good. They left the lights on on a red eye for the entire flight.

It was the worst ever, i will be filing a lawsuit to get a refund. Our flight was delayed 4 hours so we would miss our connecting flight, we were not rebooked to our destination the same day, we were not offered any options to get home on the same day despite being clear that we absolutely cannot get stranded at night due to family, we were forced to book our own flights on a different airline to get home, and spririt is refusing a refund because our flight wasn't cancelled, only delayed. oh yeah, and they lost our luggage on the first part of the trip and you cannot get a hold of customer service when anything goes wrong, on hold for 30+ minutes. and their app breaks so you can't use that either.

The crew was the best and very accommodating I know you don't offer any complimentary items but water and coffee will not break the bank !!

My experience with Spirit was perfect. Did not expect it to be this good

My mother was HARASSED AND ACCOSTED by the gate agent for her bag. I pre purchased the bag fee and the gate agent made my 78 year old mother board, deplane, re pay for her bag fee and board again. The gate agent made my mother pick up her own bag and REFUSED to help her, she is an older woman who wasn’t bothering anyone on a flight that had maybe 30’total passengers. I am going to sue this airlines for their HORRIBLE customer service and treatment of my mother, and all this occurred the day after Mother’s Day!!!

For it to have left on time! Instead of two hours early with zero notice

First the good, everyone was friendly and efficient. Flight was smooth and plane was very clean and new. Now the bad, seats have almost no padding on your behind. I was in exit row so I had tons of leg room for a 6' 2" bean pole with long legs. Everything was extra - water, soda, snacks everything besides oxygen. Ya get what you pay for, and my flight was cheap as you could ever want it, so no worries.

They dont really bother you about carry-on size, I brought a descent sized backpack and they didnt even check.

Crew was excellent. Plane was small cramped Airbus A320. Seats were narrow.

Gate agent for Frontier in Sioux Falls was horrible. Some people shouldn't have jobs where they need to work with people. This person tried to control everything and even argued with a Sheriff's Deputy. He seemed to write the law and think he was immune to everything and could do whatever he wanted. What a miserable experience for a lot of people. He even delayed the flight just for on his own actions. The pilots made up the time lost, but why does this person have this job. Apparently nobody cares at Frontier. We do, My wife said she would never fly on Frontier again.

On both our outgoing flight and our return flight, Frontier split up our seats. We were two adults and two small children, one an infant. Both flights were only about half full with full rows of empty seats. Yet, the airline split us up. No, we did not spend the extra $40 per person each way to purchase seat assignments ahead of time. But should we have to do this? If so, then the advertised ticket price was $40 off. What makes this even more egregious is that the plane was not full. So, there was no reason for Frontier to split up our group other than to extract an extra $320. A stewardess even had the nerve to tell me “if you want your family to sit together, I recommend that you purchase seat assignments next time.” On a half empty flight? Ridiculous. We will not be flying Frontier again.

One gate agent in Sioux Falls ruined it for a few people on the flight. It was the usual, that personal item is too large, you are going to have to pay $100 to get it on the flight. One family with a baby were told that they had to have a passport for the baby to get on the flight. Also a Sheriff's Deputy needed to go on the airplane to return a lost cell phone to a minor on the flight. The gate agent would NOT let him go on without a boarding pass. I don't know who this moron was, but the sooner Frontier moves him where he can't interact with people, the better off they will be. Let's just say the deputy did the job that he needed to do and returned the phone to the minor on the plane, even with argument from a gate agent that thought he had way more power than he actually does. Very IRRITATING individual.

Bad experience
crew are extremely strict with personal bags
they overcharge me coz my bag was one inch H

They never updated the boarding pass on their apps to show their delay

Online check-in was not user-friendly. Too many fees, not cost effective.

They wouldn’t let us on the flight even tho we were an hour early. No refund not even our bags that were prepaid

I brought a ticket and car rental through Travelocity. There was no where to add a KTN. So I thought i’d add it by looking up ticket on frontier website. I tried 3 times with the frontier chat bot to add my KTN it never updated my boarding pass. So then I tried showing up early to do it in person at the airport. The first employee update my ktn in the system and gave me a new boarding pass. I was sent back by tsa to join regular line. Then I was told to add my Ktn. It would cost me $25 extra. Given the length of the cue I did pay. Congratulations! BUT I will NEVER fly frontier again. Plus the plane was very old. It had actual ashtrays and old looking tray backs. Worst travel experience ever. Im warning my friends and family not to use frontier ever.

I did not enjoy the trip home on Frontier for several reasons: there is too much cost besides the flight, which was more than I would normally pay, then having to pay for luggage, and carry-on, seat (if you want to reserve when booking) then you must pay over $3 for a can of soda, and $4 for a snack. A cup of water is free.

More About Las Vegas

  • For complete and current safety and security information, including travelers' tips, public announcements, travel advisories and more, please visit the Government of Canada official website at https://travel.gc.ca.
  • December through February: 16° to 19° (Winter)
  • March through May: 22° to 32° (Spring)
  • June through August: 39° to 40° (Summer)
  • September through November: 36° to 21° (Autumn)

Where to Watch the Las Vegas 4th of July Fireworks 2024

By Juliana Shallcross

Fireworks at Caesars Palace.

The lights of Las Vegas shine so bright that it’s the only city in the United States that astronauts can see from space. But when you add in a 4th of July fireworks extravaganza that blankets the entire valley, the destination might just be the brightest city on earth this holiday.

Aside from the spectacular fireworks, there are a few other stand-out reasons why Las Vegas is a great destination for a quick and easy getaway this 4th of July. The city’s world-class shows , concerts, nightclubs, restaurants , and pool parties will be in full swing on the 4th of July, meaning your odds of finding something to do before and after the fireworks are very good. There’s also little to no chance of rain and with more than 150,000 hotel rooms, booking a place to stay is a cinch.

And if you’re wanting to be by the beach, you can do that in Las Vegas too—if you stay at the Mandalay Bay and hit up their sprawling pool complex with 2,700 tons of sand and an actual wave pool. Best of all you can wave an American flag at the Statue of Liberty—the smaller replica that stands in front of the New York, New York Hotel & Casino . However you want to do Vegas this 4th of July, just remember to step outside at 9pm to watch the fireworks light up the sky.

Here’s the full list of where to watch the fireworks throughout Las Vegas:

Las Vegas strip.

The Las Vegas fireworks can be seen from just about anywhere on the Strip.

The Las Vegas Strip

Caesars Palace is keeping its annual tradition as the only fireworks show on the Las Vegas Strip. As ever, the show will start at 8:30 p.m., and fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. from the hotel’s Julius Tower.

Though the fireworks can be seen from almost anywhere outside on the Strip, Caesars Entertainment has curated a few choice locations so you can elevate your view of the show. The resort’s Venus Pool + Lounge is offering a “Night Swim” event from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. where guests can watch the fireworks from reserved pool loungers and cabanas. Across the street at The Cromwell , guests can reserve a a table on the outdoor patio at GIADA restaurant, or go to Drai’s Beachclub , a pool scene turned after-dark hotspot, which will keep the party going after the fireworks show with a special musical set from Wacka Flacka. At the nearby Linq Hotel, another option is to head up to RE:Match Bar , which has an outdoor lounge directly over The Strip.

A more thrilling option for some is to book a ticket during the fireworks show at the High Roller Observation Wheel , which is the largest of its kind in North America and rises 500 feet above Las Vegas.

If you prefer a more low-key viewing pleasure, spend a little extra on a hotel room with a view of the Strip to watch the show from the comfort of your bed.

A rooftop cocktail bar.

Legacy Club at the Circa Resort & Casino, a rooftop cocktail lounge, will host a private celebration to take in the fireworks from 60 stories up.

Downtown Las Vegas

The Plaza Hotel and Casino is the place to be in downtown Las Vegas for 4th of July fireworks. About fifteen minutes away from Caesars, The Plaza is the host of the only fireworks show downtown, kicking off at 9 p.m. Daybeds and cabanas at the pool are available to rent for a special fireworks viewing party, or guests can nab a table on the outdoor patio at the hotel’s Carousel Bar. If you can’t make it for the actual 4th of July, The Plaza is planning on doing an encore fireworks show on July 5 at 9:15 p.m. as part of their Summer Friday fireworks series.

Over at the Legacy Club at the Circa Resort & Casino , the rooftop cocktail lounge will be hosting a Star-Spangled Glamour celebration where you can take in the fireworks from its swanky perch on the 60th floor. Tickets start at $150 per person with premium table packages available.

Off the strip

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Summerlin will host its annual fireworks viewing party at its Sandbar pool area on July 4. While there’s no cost to view the fireworks from other places on property, the viewing party is $10 for guests 2 to 11 years of age and $35 for guests 12 and up. Admission includes light-up necklaces and tickets can be purchased from the resort’s gift shop. Hotel guests will get four complimentary wristbands if they book a room. The viewing party opens at 7:30 p.m., with fireworks going off at 9 p.m.

Over in Henderson, Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino , a sister property to the Red Rock, will also host a fireworks viewing party for its fireworks show on July 4. Tickets to watch the show from the resort’s main pool, amphitheater, pond, and terrace are $10 for guests 2 to 11 years of age and $35 for guests 12 and up—the same as at the Red Rock. Similarly, admission includes light-up necklaces and tickets can be purchased from the resort’s gift shop. The schedule is the same too: The viewing party opens at 7:30 p.m., and fireworks commence at 9 p.m.

The M Resort in Henderson, about 25 minutes from the Strip, will have a 15-minute fireworks celebration at its M Pool Deck on July 4 at 9 p.m. Tickets are being offered for a premium viewing experience, starting at $10 for children age 10 and under and $30 for adults. Live music from Cover Lane, an acoustic duo featuring Lynnae Meyers and the Las Vegas Knights anthem singer, Carnell Johnson, will kick off the celebration at 7:45 p.m.

Lake Las Vegas , located about 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, will have its own community fireworks show over the 320-acre lake at 9 p.m. on July 4. Guests of the Westin Lake Las Vegas and Hilton Lake Las Vegas resorts will have prime views of the show, but it’s free for everyone to watch. Want to add a little adventure before the show? Book an evening kayak tour on the lake that ends just before the fireworks begin.
