we booked via IMPERIAL EGYPT, and all was super easy and clear thanks to Hamy. We had a private guide, "MoMo" best guide ever ! we highly recomend it.
After a few days in Cairo (Mena House) we did a 7 day cruise (Luxor-Aswan-Luxor) and it exceeded all expectations. We are not “cruise” people, and the MS Farah was perfect. It’s one of the best appointed boats on the Nile and we were very well looked after. Meals are excellent and the dinner a la carte (much better than buffet all the time). We had an upper deck cabin, which I would recommend paying the extra for. The sun deck was fantastic with plenty of shaded areas for relaxing/reading and not at all crowded. Our cabin was spacious and well appointed and was cleaned throughout the day (so was clean and fresh every time we returned). The staff are fantastic and really couldn’t do more to help, without being intrusive. The 7 day cruise gives you an extra day in Aswan which you should use to get to Abu Simbel if you can (we flew which is worth the extra cost), and was possible the highlight (of many highlights) of the trip. After 7 days, we really didn’t want the cruise to end and only wished it could have taken us back to Cairo. There may be cheaper cruises, but each time one passed us, I was very grateful that we’d chosen the MS Farah. Great boat and crew and unforgettable trip.

This review is for MS Grand Rose cruise. I got lazy and used a tour company instead of doing my own research. They promised 5-star nile cruise. Well, turn out every boat are 5-star or whatever star they want to give to themselves. I was put on MS Grand Rose. - Room: The boat is really old and is about 2-star in term of equipment. - Cleanest: Cleaning staffs worked hard and keep the room clean (maybe because I tipped them directly & generously), but are not well-equipped. They were cleaning the carpet with broom and not vacuum. Thus, the dust is just pushed around. Don't look under the bed ... , you will gross out. - Food: The cheapest kind of food, and salty (since food is included in the room's price, but not drink or water). And we made the mistake of ordered some cocktail ... the worst mix juice ever, for $10. - Staff: Cleaning & restaurant staffs are nice. However, bar staffs are very rude. - Tour guide: A private tour guide was included, but was more interested in getting tip than showing us around. Even we are from the US, tip are earned, not demanding. - Tipping: At the night before the end of the cruise, the tour guide handed us 2 envelopes for tip, one for him, and one for the boat. I gave 400 Egyptian pounds. Would have given more if he didn't nagging about tip all day. (He was given a budget for transportation, and his trick was to nagged us to tip the drivers as payment... and pocket the rest). The next morning, the car that they arranged for us to go to the airport doesn't come until 9, yet the receptionist made rude comment about us not out of the room by 8. We were already packed and asked for help with bringing the luggage down. No one show up and as when it was close to 9, I ended up having to carry all the luggage down 3 flights of stairs by myself. He waited for me at the bottom of the stair and ask for tip.
Really enjoyed the cruise part of a tour that included Luxor and the valley of the kings, the boat was fantastic the food superb , but I would not do the trip from Hurghada again it was nearly 9 hours travel in total. But the Nile is not to be missed if you are in Egypt.

Me, my husband and my parents just finished a nile cruise on Blue Shadow II from Aswan to Luxor. Mr Mohamed was the most profession and helpful through the booking process. I asked a lot of questions but he answered each with incredible patience and detail. Thank you so much for this. Our cruise was amazing. The boat was fab, food great (especially on Egyptian food night!) but mostly the tours were the best part. Our private guide Moustafa was amazing. So professional, knowledgeable, and such a nice man. Thank you for making our trip so special! We will definitely contact Mr Mohamed at Nile Valley Travel again when travelling round Egypt and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. Top service! Thank you all. Lisa, Mahmoud, Stephen and Angie.
