The Wiggles announce huge Australian tour for 2024

Beloved children's entertainment group and certified Aussie icons The Wiggles will be getting a wiggle on into their big red car for a mammoth tour across Australia in the latter half of 2024. 

Starting in November, Jeff will be woken up from his slumber and made to travel from Canberra to Cairns, with shows in every state and territory except the Northern Territory.

Titled the 'Wiggly Big Day Out Tour', fan favourite characters like Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Henry the Octopus, and Wags the Dog will join The Wiggles in their world-famous blue, purple, red, and yellow skivvies. 

Anthony Field is currently the only original member of the group, with Lachy Gillespie joining in 2009 and Simon Pryce joining in 2002 as a voice artist before becoming a fully-fledged member in 2013. 

They are joined by youngsters Tsehay Hawkins and Lucia Field (aka Anthony's daughter), former Justice Crew star John Pearce , Evie Ferris , and longtime Wiggly dancer turned actual wiggle, Caterina Mete. 

Wake up Jeff! The Wiggles are going on tour!

For those worried about snagging the all-too-elusive tickets, don't stress!

Across all 14 tour dates, there are multiple 50 minute shows staggered throughout each day. 

And for Sydney and Canberra, fans will have five and six performances across two days to choose from. 

The Wiggles will also be touring Australia.

How much are tickets to The Wiggles Australia tour? 

There are three ticket types for The Wiggles 'Big Day Out' 2023 Australian tour. 

These range from $51.55 for 'Hot Potato' floor seats, to 'Fruit Salad' seats at $46.65 and $44.65 for reserved seating at the back of each venue. 

When do tickets to The Wiggles 'Big Day Out' tour go on sale? 

Tickets go on sale at 11am AEST on Thursday the 20th of July. 

There is a ticket limit of eight tickets per customer.

The Wiggles continue their golden run with the announcement of another arena tour of Australia , a run that places the childen’s entertainers in the history books.

With The Wiggles Holiday Party Big Show , announced Tuesday (Aug. 30), the Wiggles become the first band in Australian history to perform two national arena tours in a single year.

The “Hot Potato” singers will hit the road for 15 end-of-year dates, wrapping Dec. 17 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena — the country’s biggest arena, with a 21,000 capacity.

The festive-themed concert will featuring all eight Wiggles — Anthony, Simon, Lachy and Tsehay, who’ll be joined by John, Caterina, Evie and new “Blue Wiggle” Lucia, who dons the blue skivvy just like its original owner, her dad.

This year has been an extraordinary one for the Wiggles, which won triple j’s Hottest 100 for the first time; landed a No. 1 album on the ARIA Chart (also a first), sold out Australasian arenas with their children’s Fruit Salad TV Big Show Tour and adult’s OG Reunion Tour; and scooped the Ted Albert Award for outstanding service to Australian music (a first for a kid’s entertainment act). They’re set to appear on the September cover of Rolling Stone Australia magazine, out next week.

The Wiggles Big Show Tour heads north for a tour of Canada, starting Sept. 28 at Avenir Centre, Moncton.

The Wiggles have shared details of an extensive Australian arena tour that’s set to take place across November and December 2023. The children’s group will be on the road from Saturday, 4th November until Saturday, 23rd December, playing shows in Canberra, Hobart, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong and Sydney.

There are multiple performance times on each of the show dates. The majority begin at 10:00am and all shows are happening during daytime hours. Tickets are on sale at 11am AEDT on Thursday, 20th July. See below for more details.

The Wiggles – ‘Who’s in the Wiggle House?’

Despite winning triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2021 and releasing covers of songs by The Chats and Lime Cordiale, The Wiggles remain a children’s group. They’re as as popular as ever too – new videos appear weekly on The Wiggles’ official YouTube channel , each of which typically garners hundreds of thousands of views.

The upcoming tour is sponsored by Huggies, and Blue Wiggle Anthony Field did not forget to mention the sponsor in a official statement. “We can’t wait to hit the road again and bring our biggest and brightest show yet to families all over Australia, with our friends Huggies,” he said.

Field continued, “This tour will be a Wiggly carnival celebration that will create unforgettable memories for everyone. We have some surprises in store, including new songs and a lot of festival fun, guaranteed to put smiles on faces everywhere.”

The Wiggles announce 18+ arena tour with original line-up

It’ll mark the group’s first full-scale tour for adults only, and their first reunion gigs in arenas

The Wiggles ‘ original line-up have announced a seven-date run of arena shows for 2022, marking their first full-scale tour for 18+ audiences.

The tour is set to kick off in Darwin on Saturday February 12, before the quartet – alongside a full cast of classic characters such as Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog – hit stages in Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. Tickets will be available from The Wiggles’ website from 4pm local time this Friday (October 22).

It’ll be the third time the group have performed together since their initial disbanding in 2012, with Murray Cook (the original Red Wiggle), Jeff Fatt (Purple) and Greg Page (Yellow) having previously joined Anthony Field – who has maintained his role as the Blue Wiggle since 1991 – for standalone charity shows in 2016 and 2020.

“All of those children who loved The Wiggles in the ‘90s are now adults who love the nostalgia and fun from that time in their lives,” Fatt said in a press release. “This night is for the grown-ups and is a chance to bring back some of that genuine, high-spirited liveliness again. We can’t wait to relive those childhood memories and dance the night away to some of the favourite old-school tunes.”

Cook added: “It will be The Wiggles as you remember and love them, but we’ll all have a bit more grey hair… And there’s a bar. We’ll be playing all your favourite songs, and put on a show you won’t forget.”

Each show will feature a different support act, with more details for those due to be announced in the coming months. Polish Club and DZ Deathrays are amongst the acts set to join the festivities.

Cook and Fatt retired from the group in 2012, while Page stepped away in 2006, though he returned briefly from 2012 to 2013. Their first reunion with Field – a pub show in Sydney – took place in 2016, with the band raising money for Soldier On Australia.

They reunited again for a pair of shows last January , this time endeavouring to raise funds for the Australian Red Cross and WIRES, following the bushfires that devastated Australia throughout the summer of 2019 and 2020. They pulled in over $150,000 between the two shows , however Page was not present at the second one as he’d suffered a cardiac arrest onstage during the first .

Joking about the incident in today’s (October 19) announcement, Page said he “may have to pull back a bit on the dancing this time around”.

Also announced today was the departure of Emma Watkins, who’d performed as the Yellow Wiggle since 2010. Her role will be filled by the 15-year-old Tsehay Hawkins, who’d previously joined the group back in August for the webseries Fruit Salad TV .

In a video statement posted to The Wiggles’ Instagram, Watkins said: “Like many people around the world, the pandemic has given me time to reflect on what is important in life. For me, that means spending more time at home, something that I didn’t realise I was missing out on being away eight months of the year on tour.

“I’m really looking forward to devoting more time and energy to focus on completing my PhD which incorporates my ongoing passion for sign language, dance and film editing, and to having more time to work with the deaf community.”

• This was also the first Wiggles tour of North America to not feature any appearance from Shirley Shawn the Unicorn .
• Despite being mentioned in promotional material, Evie Ferris did not participate in the tour.
• This was one of The Wiggles ' shortest concert tours in their entire history, being only three weeks long in length.
• The tour was originally meant to begin with two shows in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. However, for unknown reasons, both shows were cancelled entirely.
• During the Montclair and Toronto shows, various fans in attendance were invited to briefly perform on stage with the band.

The Wiggles release surprise electronic dance album boasting remixes of their biggest hits

Surprise! There's a new Wiggles album out on Friday – but it's not what you'd expect.

The beloved children's entertainers have dropped an electronic dance music (EDM) album full of dancefloor-ready remixes of their biggest hits.

Keen Wigglers would know that there was a chance this would be on the horizon, though.

It comes less than a week after DJ Dorothy (indeed, the dinosaur) performed a surprise set at Melbourne's Billboard nightclub, slinging songs from the new album.

The Wiggles Sound System: Rave of Innocence boasts 14 of your favourite Wiggles songs as you've never heard them before, infused with rave flavour and hectic beats underneath some classic Wiggly vocals.

The group worked with DJ Lenny Pearce on the new bangers. Lenny is also the brother of Purple Wiggle John Pearce (aka Big Strong John).

"This project was super fun to work on," the Justice Crew member  told ABC News Breakfast.

"I had the chance to reinvent the songs of my childhood to the sounds of my adulthood."

"I am 33 now, and I vividly remember lying on the floor with headphones on listening to Greg [Page, original Yellow Wiggle] thinking 'wow, this is so soothing'. And then, 30 years down the line, I am mixing his vocals in my studio."

The album features songs that have been doing the rounds for 30 years – think Hot Potato and Fruit Salad – and some newer songs like Baby Shark.

But Pearce's favourite also happens to be the first track on the album.

"I like The Monkey Dance because it is modern pop-sounding. It sounds like an adult tune, but it's Greg's voice … my daughter also loves that, and she is one and a half!"

His daughter happened to be an influence on the sound of the beats, too – giving direct feedback on the songs as they were all coming together.

"She was actually sitting in my studio, in her highchair, from when she was about six months old and I was making them," he said.

"I could see her moving in her chair, so I knew it was a good sign! I have been playing it [the album] for her for the last few months and she loves it."

Rave reviews from the highchair for some tunes sure to be beloved by children and club-rats alike.

"I am super grateful that I got to have the opportunity with Dorothy the Dinosaur and the Wiggles … It's a whirlwind. It is definitely a weird, unique experience for me to do."
