Dew Tour Returns for Summer 2022
July 29 – 30, 2022.
Carlsbad, Calif. (April 25, 2022) — The annual Dew Tour pro skateboard competition and festival – powered by MTN DEW® – will return to Des Moines, Iowa on July 29 and 30 at Lauridsen Skatepark for the second consecutive year. The event will be a finals only skateboard competition featuring the very best skaters from across the globe, as well as a two-day festival with activities for all ages. The return of Dew Tour to Des Moines is made possible by its partnership with Catch Des Moines and Polk County, as well as Toyota, returning as the event’s Mobility partner. Dew Tour will be free and open to the public.
In 2020 and 2021, Dew Tour served as a global Olympic qualifying event for the Tokyo Games, which showcased its inaugural year of skateboarding. This year’s Dew Tour features finals only competitions in men’s and women’s individual Street and Park, as well as Adaptive competitions presented by Toyota in men’s and women’s Street and men’s Park. It will also mark the return of the Dew Tour’s Battle of the Shops, featuring regional skate shops that compete as a team against one another on the Street course. Des Moines’ Subsect Skate Shop will be the local shop competing against other midwestern skate shops from Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis and Minneapolis.
A myriad of Olympians are expected to compete at this year’s event, including Lizzie Armanto (FIN), Mariah Duran (USA), Aurelien Giraud (FRA), Nyjah Huston (USA), Aori Nishimura (JPN), Tristan Rennie (USA), Pamela Rosa (BRA), Bryce Wettstein (USA) and many more.
The Dew Tour Experience, a festival-style activation located adjacent to the competition venue, will offer fans a fun and free sponsor village, public skate pump track, food and beverages, pro athlete meet and greets and more. The entire Dew Tour event is free and open to the public, with general admission entry. A limited number of VIP ticket packages will be available; details are forthcoming.
The Dew Tour competition venue will be located within Lauridsen Skatepark, the largest skatepark in the United States, boasting 88,000 square feet of skateboarding paradise with two skate bowls, a skate promenade, a skateable sculpture, stairs, ledges and more. The skatepark, which opened in 2021, was built by world-class builders California Skateparks, who has served as the venue architects for Dew Tour since 2014.
Dew Tour will be livestreamed in its entirety on DewTour.com, Facebook Live, YouTube and other major platforms for a total of 15+ hours. Stay updated at DewTour.com and on Facebook , Twitter , Instagram , TikTok and YouTube by following @DewTour .

STREET LEAGUE SKATEBOARDING RETURNS TO THE WORLD STAGE FOR 2022 SLS CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR
2-Day Weekend Events Heading Back to Arenas in Jacksonville, Seattle, Las Vegas and Rio de Janeiro
Today, Street League Skateboarding , the world’s premier professional skateboarding organization, has announced the schedule for the 2022 SLS Championship Tour . Street skateboarding’s marquee competition series is back on a global scale this year, with events spanning both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. The tour is also returning to indoor arenas, further enhancing the excitement and stature of SLS’ high-stakes competition.
Fifty of the sport’s best skaters and biggest personalities, including defending champions Jagger Eaton (USA) and Pamela Rosa (BRA), SLS icons Nyjah Huston (USA) and Rayssa Leal (BRA) as well as the full Tokyo Olympic Games podium - led by gold medalists Yuto Horigome (JPN) and Momiji Nishiya (JPN) – will vie for a chance to raise the most coveted trophy in street skateboarding, the 2022 SLS Super Crown World Championship . Horigome, who is a multiple SLS event winner in addition to being the first Olympic street skateboarding gold medalist, will be competing in Street League for the first time since 2019.
The 2022 SLS Championship Tour kicks off July 16-17 in Jacksonville, FL. The city made its SLS debut last November, hosting the tour’s sold-out Championship weekend. Now the road to the prized 2022 Super Crown World Championship begins this summer at VyStar Memorial Arena.
Next up is Seattle, WA’s Angel of the Winds Arena on August 13-14 followed by an intimate stop at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV on October 8-9, which will determine the skaters who will advance to battle in the title round.
The 2022 tour will then culminate with the Super Crown World Championship, returning to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - one of skateboarding’s most vibrant communities - on November 5-6. SLS has visited Brazil three times over the past decade, first in 2013 in Foz do Iguaçu, then with back-to-back finals in 2018 (Rio de Janeiro) and 2019 (São Paulo). SLS will be returning to Arena Carioca 1, site of the 2018 Super Crown, which will play host to the crowning of the next SLS World Champions.
2022 SLS CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR:
SLS Championship Tour: Jacksonville, presented by A SHOC Energy : Saturday, July 16 – Sunday, July 17 ( VyStar Memorial Arena )
SLS Championship Tour: Seattle, presented by Visible : Saturday, August 13 – Sunday, August 14 ( Angel of the Winds Arena )
SLS Championship Tour: Las Vegas: Saturday, October 8 – Sunday, October 9 ( UFC Apex )
SLS Super Crown Championship: Rio : Saturday, November 5 – Sunday, November 6 (Arena Carioca 1)
SLS will also continue to provide a pathway for the next generation to join the top ranks in an SLS-hosted pre-season invitational Tour Qualifier, returning to Paul “P-Rod” Rodriguez ’s Primitive Skatepark. A chance to earn a coveted spot on the 2022 SLS Championship Tour roster and go up against SLS’ invited Pros will be up for grabs. Look for more details on when and how to watch coming soon.
Last year, the SLS Championship Tour went back to its roots, reverting to its original roster size and streamlining its contest format to rave reviews from the industry. The changes created more immediacy and excitement for skaters and audiences alike. That innovation will continue in 2022, with more format updates to be announced.
Each SLS Championship Tour stop will also once again feature custom-designed skate plazas that challenge top pros and up-and-coming talents, pushing them to take skateboarding to new heights. These best-in-class live event experiences offer thrilling entertainment for millions of fans, both those watching from more than 150 countries worldwide as well as the thousands of thrilled fans experiencing the high-energy competition live in person. Now that excitement will be amplified as the world’s best square off under arena lights.
Bringing this progressive vision to life, SLS is collaborating with a partner roster headlined by modern performance energy drink brand A SHOC Energy , who will be the presenting partner of the Championship Tour’s Jacksonville kickoff. Earlier this year, A SHOC Energy announced a strategic alliance with SLS’ parent company, Thrill One Sports & Entertainment . Smirnoff Ice Smash is another new partner.
Brands returning for 2022 include Visible , both as a presenting partner for the Seattle tour stop and as the Official Wireless Partner of SLS and the SLS Championship Tour. Cariuma , True Skate , Tech Deck , Skater XL , and NHS are also back as both SLS and tour partners.
Joe Carr , CEO of Thrill One Sports and Entertainment – SLS’ parent company, said: “For over a decade, SLS has paved the way for street skateboarding’s rise and created a generation of fans with its unrivaled live event experience. Now, building on last year’s successful relaunch, we are excited for the tour to return to packed indoor arenas. We also look forward to once again taking the SLS brand global with the Super Crown World Championship heading back to a skate-obsessed Brazil. Some of SLS’ biggest moments have happened here and the League can’t wait to make history again in Rio.”

Come to DFW Texas!!
For Seattle, Would like to know: Is there usually a time for meet&greet and autographs?
What is the start and finish times for the final event in Seattle. Trying to book flight home
If I or other local pro skaters want to skate the next show how much is entree & what hours can we skate? I can think of about 50 of us.
We need an official answer or the travel finances to come and not get in to skate the course would put us out long time come ski season. Please! I'll keep skateboarding either way. Such an honor. Thanks. #PNW
The Las Vegas event this year will be invite only??? Like no one will be able to buy tickets?? If this is true, this is awful news. I go to SLS every year and I have already booked flights, hotel and a vegas show for this stop for 3 people. This would be truly disappointing.
Right? Why not announce this when announcing the tour? Why leave it as "on sale soon" for literally months? People plan travel in advance. This is messed up.

World Skateboarding Tour: Dubai Park 2024 - Preview, schedule, and how to watch the action live
Discover what you need to know about the World Skateboarding Tour Paris 2024 qualifier taking place at the Dubai Harbour from 25 February to 3 March. Livestream coverage of WST: Dubai Park 2024 will be available to watch on the Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app for mobile devices.
Park skateboarders from around the world are descending on the picturesque Dubai Habour to compete in the World Skateboarding Tour’s Dubai Park 2024 event from 25 February to 3 March.
The World Skateboarding Tour (WST) forms a key part of the ‘Road to Paris’ for park and street skateboarders looking to compete at the Olympic Games and WST Dubai Park 2024 stop will mark a critical stage on that journey.
The event will be the last chance for skaters to accrue points towards their Olympic World Skate Ranking (OWSR) before a cut is made - using those rankings - ahead of the second phase of qualification, the Olympic Qualifying Series (OQS).
The OQS is a two-part competition series taking place in Shanghai (16-19 May) and Budapest (20-23 June) and determine the final fields for Paris 2024 .
The 44 highest-placed eligible athletes per gender in the OWSR after Dubai will be invited to the OQS respecting the following principles:
- No more than six athletes per country per gender per event (respecting the order of the OWSR)
- At least one highest-placed athlete from each continent for the representation of all continents
- At least one highest-placed athlete who is a national of the Olympic Games 2024 host country France
- At least one highest-placed eligible athlete who is a national of the OQS host country, (People’s Republic of China and Hungary)
- At least one Universality places eligible athletes
The stakes, therefore, going into Dubai are high with spots in the next stage of qualification on the line.

WST Dubai Park 2024: Newly minted world champions Gavin Bottger and Hiraki Kokona lead the way; no Sky Brown
With OQS spots on the line and Paris 2024 in the wings, Dubai will be a crucial junction for all hungry park skateboarders looking to make a statement and gain valuable OWSR points.
Among those set to lead the charge at Dubai Harbour will be the newly crowned champions Hiraki C ocona and Gavin Bottger .
Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Cocona has been a sure but steady force in the women’s park event ever since the road to Paris began, and the Japanese will be the favourite to top the podium again in the UAE not least with Sky Brown opting out of the contest to pursue a quota spot for Great Britain at the ISA World Surfing Games 2024 in Puerto Rico.
The 15-year-old, though dominant, won’t be the only skater looking for the top prize. Fellow teen and world runner-up Hinano Kusaki will also be in the hunt along with United States’ Minna Stess , Brazil’s Raicca Ventura, Olympic champion Yosozumi Sakura and Australian young gun Ruby Trew .
If the World Championships in Rome were anything to go by the men’s competition in Dubai will deliver something as equally as special.
On an electric evening on the Roman coast, 16-year-old Bottger clinched gold ahead of Brazil’s Luigi Cini and fellow friend and countryman Tate Carew in the World Championship final. That tussle for the top looks set to continue with Bottger and Carew both due to go to Dubai while Cini looks set to miss out due to injury.
Among those certain to try and muscle in on that battle will be Tokyo 2020 Olympic medallists Keegan Palmer , Jagger Eaton and Pedro Barros who all missed out back in Rome.
It'll be two contests not to miss.
WST Dubai Park 2024: Pre-seeded skaters
The top five seeded skaters in the OWSR will skip the qualifiers and join the contest in the quarter-final phase.
- Jagger Eaton (USA) - not competing
- Augusto Akio (BRA)
- Tate Carew (USA)
- Gavin Bottger (USA)
- Luigi Cini (BRA) - not competing
- Hiraki Cocona (JPN)
- Kusaki Hinano (JPN)
- Sky Brown (GBR) - not competing
- Raicca Ventura (BRA)
- Minna Stess (USA)

The World Skateboarding Tour Has Begun!
The 2022 World Championships at Aljada Skatepark in Sharjah , UAE, which we all just experienced ( and seriously - how good were they?? ) also marked the formal launch of a much bigger phase in World Skate’s raising of the contest bar on the Road To Paris 2024- the World Skateboarding Tour. The World Skateboarding Tour will incorporate both Pro Tour and World Championship events in both Street and Park all of which offer the opportunity to gather OWSR ranking points toward qualification for the Paris Olympic Games of 2024.
The Street and Park events will take place at different locations throughout 2023 before returning to the UAE early in 2024. Other new Pro Tour-level destinations include Argentina for Park, and Switzerland for Street. The World Skateboarding Tour has staggered the number of events any single skater can credit points from, which allows skateboarders to choose the events which best suit them, or to improve upon earlier performances.
The period from World Street Skateboarding Rome 2022 up to and including WST Pro Tour Sharjah in January 2024 will act as ‘Phase 1’ of Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification.
Starting from Phase 2, only the 44 qualified athletes qualified from Phase 1 will be eligible to earn OWSR points. As a consequence, the 22 skaters who will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics will be selected from those who compete in Phase 2.
Our belief is that the success both of Rome and Sharjah have demonstrated that World Skate have set new international standards in production and execution which befits an Olympic discipline. The World Skateboarding Tour has begun in earnest: forward we go.
See you on the Road To Paris!
You can read all about point distribution, OWSR rankings and other technical matters going forward, here .
All skate, no bored: We talked to Tony Hawk about his 2024 tour
At the 1999 X Games, Tony Hawk became the first skater to ever pull off a 900-degree aerial spin.
25 years later, he’s still on his board every day.
“I skated yesterday and learned a new trick,” the 55-year-old icon told the New York Post on in an exclusive interview.
However, rather than just walk the walk, Hawk also talks the talk now, too.
Along with fellow extreme pioneer and Bones Brigade member Rodney Mullen, he’s embarking on a two-show ‘ Darkslides and Secret Tapes Tour’ where the pair will stop into New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Thursday, April 4 and Austin’s Moody Theater on Sunday, April 7.
“I’ve been friends with Rodney for 40 years, and I feel like we each bring a very different perspective on our careers and our success,” Hawk explained.
“He lived on a farm in Florida and grew up skating on a concrete pad. I lived in the surf culture of Southern California and started skating because my brother was a surfer but we found ourselves with kind of the same trajectory and motivations.”
At both shows, the legendary duo will chat and share rarely seen videos.
“We have a lot of historical footage and stuff that was documented when we were kids and stuff that we didn’t realize at the time but were milestones of our sport,” Hawk said.
“You’ll see Rodney’s first kick flips, my first aerials and spins. Some of it is floating around the Internet, but you can’t find it all in one cohesive place like we’re going to show it.”
They will also answer questions from the audience.
“That’ll probably be some of the most fun stuff because it’s so spontaneous and off the cuff and we don’t have canned, rehearsed answers for what people are going to ask us.”
And while it’s not scripted Tony would love for someone to inquire about Mullen’s recent surgery.
“It’s no secret Rodney recently had a double hip replacement and he just started skating again,” Tony shared. “I want to know what he’s doing. Has he done a kick flip yet?”
Want to see Birdman and Mutt chop it up live?
We’ve got everything you need to know and more about Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen’s 2024 ‘Darkslides and Secret Tapes Tour’ below.
This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.
A complete calendar of all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found here:
There may be more shows if these gigs go over well.
“We’re hoping to establish this as a format and then go forward with a lot of cities,” Hawk pointed out. “This is all very much an experiment. Every time I talked to Rodney on the phone, which has been a lot in the last week, we get more excited about it. So I have a good feeling.”
While chatting, Hawk dropped a story about Mullen from long ago.
“When we were Bones Brigade rookies, Stacy Peralta lived in Santa Monica, so we would stay with him,” Hawk began. “One night, he took us out to eat in Westwood, which is where movies premiere and in the ’80s was kind of a hot spot.”
“There are street performers there,” he continued. “We parked kind of far away from the restaurant because there was no parking and we skated. Rodney started doing his usual amazing tricks. Suddenly, this huge crowd gathered around him and started leaving the other street performers to watch Rodney.”
“People started throwing money at him,” Hawk laughed. “Then, one of the street performers came over and chewed him out. That was the end of Rodney’s show.”
“We were all of 13.”
In January 2023, “White Lotus” star Aubrey Plaza hosted with musical guest Sam Smith.
Tony Hawk was there, too.
The night’s first sketch, “Miss Universe,” featured Hawk and The Property Brothers as judges in a parody of the beauty contest where they “rank women based on looks” as Kenan Thompson quipped in the sketch.
True to form, Hawk had fun with his role and screamed all his lines.
“In the original script, it was literally me saying my name,” Hawk noted. “I just went with it. During rehearsal, I improvised a new line and they loved it.”
“Lorne was like ‘we’re going to keep Tony’s new line in there.’ Next thing I know, I’ve got an extra line or two. But after that I understood how the sausage is made and how some things don’t work in rehearsals. Some things work way better because they they riff on it. And that is the that’s the beauty of ‘SNL.'”
You can catch the goofy four-minute sketch here:
Ever the renaissance man, Hawk appeared on “The Masked Singer” as well.
“They hit me up to do show and I was a little skeptical,” Hawk told us about his February 2020 stint on the show. “Then they started going through a list of potential songs and bands. I thought, ‘That would be pretty cool to sing The Cure.’ I worked with a vocal coach for a few weeks to try and nail the range of that song.”
“My dancing was not the greatest. I think that’s what shut me down. I also think that for that audience The Cure is a bit obscure. They wanted me to do ‘Born to Be Wild,’ and I had both of those in my pocket. And they wanted me to be ‘Born to Be Wild’ first because they thought it was more energetic and the dance was a little more up their alley.”
“But to my own demise, I insisted on The Cure being first.”
Below, you’ll find an unofficial video of the performance.
Outside of skating, Tony Hawk might be most well known for people asking him if he’s…Tony Hawk.
“(It happens) every day,” he chuckled. “It happened yesterday again. I stopped sharing it (on social media) because people think it’s redundant and I’m making it up. I’m just sharing the experience and I think someone will probably think this is funny.”
At coffee shop this morning:
Girl behind counter: (not joking) “has anyone told you that you look like Tony Hawk?”
Me: yes, so much that I sometimes write about it.
Her: haha, here’s your coffee
Other girl by exit: (leans toward me as I walk out): “you really do look like him”
“Now it happens almost as much in jest,” he continued. “The meme has formed a life on its own. It drives my daughter crazy if I don’t tell people it’s me. They didn’t ask.”
“It almost feels pretentious (to be) like ‘well, actually, I am.'”
If you can’t make it out to NYC or Austin there are plenty of huge shows that might be headed closer to a venue near you.
Here are just five tours we can’t wait for this year.
• Blink-182
• Red Hot Chili Peppers
• Foo Fighters
• Green Day with Smashing Pumpkins
• Pearl Jam

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Update Adds Solo Tours, New Decks & More
A new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 update has arrived on all platforms, featuring new Challenges, Solo Tours, Create-a-Skater items, new decks and more.
Shred with Each Skater in Solo Tours
With this update, you can now replay the Tours mode – that’s the THPS 1 and THPS 2 Tours – with individual skaters.
At the start of each Solo Tour, all Goals and Medals are reset, allowing you to re-complete them while collecting those sweet, sweet Stat Points to max out your skater. Complete every skater’s Solo Tour, and you can consider yourself a G.O.A.T. when it comes to those single-player goals.
Don’t worry about your progress in previous Tours; the current Tours mode will be moved to “Crew Tours.” If you completed these Tours, then you’ll find that 100% status here, and if not, then consider Crew Tours a great way to play through the O.G. THPS 1 and THPS 2 Career modes with a variety of skaters.
The Birdman Pack – Support The Skatepark Project with Classic and New Decks
Grab 10 decks for your Create-a-Skater with The Birdman Pack, created in collaboration with The Skatepark Project to support their mission of creating public skateparks in underserved communities.
Featuring five decks that are new to the franchise, this pack is a mix of Birdhouse and Powell-Peralta decks along with one created specifically for The Skatepark Project. All net proceeds received by Activision through this pack will help fund the non-profit’s mission.
This pack is only available for a limited time, so don’t bail on the opportunity to give your skater some new decks while giving back to communities around the United States.

Originally posted by DescipleOfZen : It's kind of stupid really, but crew tour was all the game had when it initially dropped in 2020. Crew tour is basically you play the career mode once and the stats apply to all skaters, Solo tour is basically like the classic games.. one career per skater and you can reset them to play again. I know, it's confusing,.. The game is kinda user experience hell. There's no differences otherwise.
