Donatella's Private Wine Tour in Tuscany

A lovely , charming and adorable Donatella shared her Tuscan Wine and Cheese Family of Treausures with us on her one day tour that fast became the absolute highlight of our Tuscan vacation!. Her tour began with a lively zip about the countryside to an organic producer of fine cheese, wine and olives. Along the way, we met kind and loving farmers a top their hillside homes, and were offered a valuable wine producing education , great conversation and tastes if flavors that create lifetime memories. Organic Brunello, sheepmilk cheese wrapped in straw with special marmolade, a brilliant group of loving individuals sharing their homes and bounty culminated on a picturesque Tuscan hillside at dusk. As part of our stay in Tuscany, we had Donnatella take us to Siena and Montalcino. She took us to 2 Brunello wineries where we toured the winery with the owners. We tasted some amazing wines and learned about the life of a Brunello wine. We then went to a restaurant where they produce their own olive oil. Delicioso!!! Spending a day with Donnatella was amazing. Thanks to friends at Trip Advisor for recommending her.

We can't say enough about our wine tour with Donatella. We went on the wine tour as part of our honeymoon, and it was one of our favorite memories of the trip. The wine tour is very personal. We traveled to 3 different wineries, each with their own charm. With Donatella, you will see places that many tourists do not see including small family run wineries, quaint villages, and even have an authentic italian meal. We learned so much about wine production in Italy without feeling like it was a lecture. It is well worth the cost and we would not have done it any other way. ~Gretchen and Joe

we where a group of 10, we where disapointed of not getting more of a guided tour of san giminiano and sienna witch is why we booked that tour. the place for lunch was soso, nobody ate the meal and we went to an ok vineyard, if you are a wine buff better off with an other tour did not get to visit a cheese producer either.i would not recommend this tour

My husband and I just returned from our 10 day Honeymoon tour through Italy. Our day with Donatella was by far the most memorable and favorite day of our entire stay. Donatella picked us up from our hotel in Siena, and the moment we got in her comfortable van, we felt like we were long-time friends. She is friendly, funny, knowledgable, just an absolute delight to spend the day with. She carefully chose three wineries for us to visit in the Chianti Classico region. They were all so charming and intimate, as they were family run for many generations. We were able to learn so much about the wine making process, taste the best wine we've ever had, delicious cheeses, pastas, olive oils, etc. For lunch, we went to a gorgeous home and ate with an entire family in the courtyard, including their 7 cute dogs! This was the most amazing experience, joining in on a typical Tuscan family's lunch, not to mention, the 4 course meal was incredible! We would return to Tuscany just to go on this tour again! Donatella, you really made our honeymoon so special, and we hope to see you soon!

This was the best day of our trip to Italy, by far. We have enjoyed other wine tours, but this was really fun. Donatella, our guide was fun and informative and knew all the right people to visit. We learned about cheese making on an organic farm and then visited two excellent wineries. The first one served us an absolutely delicious lunch that I will always remember. How can you forget home-made pasta? Donatella picked us up at our Siena hotel and dropped us back off when we were finished. This is a day long trip and fun from beginning to end!

Donatella was fabulous!

The day started that we were picked up by Donatella at the Savoy Hotel in Florence. The sun was out and for me as a photographer it couldn't have been already better. Driving through the beautiful Tuscan countryside got me very excited. For us Americans, it is a bit scary to drive as Italians have no driving rules. But Donatella really knows how to maneuver around all the crazy drivers. I appreciated the explanations about the laws, rules and restrictions that the winemakers have to adhere to. She knows her stuff. As I work as a Tour guide as well, I know the difficulties. The ambience of the wineries is hard to describe, it's inspirational you just have to be there, and the boys are not too bad to look at as well. There is no way I would have had the experience I did, if it wasn't for Donatella. She is smart, her English is great, and she is funny and has a wonderful personality and a good sense of humor. We booked an 8 day trip to Italy for our 25th anniversary with stops in Venice, Florence, and Rome. After reading about Donatella on this website, we decided to make a special day visiting the Tuscan countryside and booked her. I know there have been reviews after reviews praising the day with Donatella, but we can only tell you that it was by far the best day of our trip, and will leave us with lasting memories forever. She picked us up at our hotel in Florence, and spent a very long day that just flew by. We visited San Gimignano, went to two wineries where we learned more than we ever could imagine about wine(with private tours and tastings), visited a Pecorino Cheese factory, and the highlight was an amazing lunch in a private home with a family that has owed this home for 5 generations. They welcomed us into their home as though we were family, and afforded us an inside look at an Tuscan household that we never ever would have experienced without Donatella. They went so far as to break open a bottle of champagne when they found out we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Donatella is warm, charming, enthusiastic, and catered to our every need. Yes, it is an expensive day, but if you allow yourself one extravagance while in Italy, you will be glad that you booked Donatella. She will leave you with a memorable day that will stay with your forever.

We had a wonderful time during our wine tour in Montalcino, south of Siena. Beautiful views, great wine and a delicious lunch. Donatella is adorable and made our trip a very pleasant day. I definitively recommend the tour.

My husband and I just returned from 10 days in Italy and still the highlight of the entire week was our day with Donatella. She made us feel comfortable and was so much fun to be around. Her knowledge and passion about her country as well as her understanding of other cultures make her a wonderful tour guide. We took a tour of the Chianti Classico region and enjoyed tastings at 3 different wineries, lunch in a small tuscan hamlet, and seeing the countryside between Siena and Florence. Donatella worked with our needs and even went out of her way for my picky eater husband. She was reliable and responsive prior to the trip and showed up right on time the day of the tour. We fell in love with Siena and Donatella and are already thinking about our next trip back.

After reading many stellar reviews on tours with Donatella we decided to book with her. We were lucky she had a day available. I would advise to check with her as soon as you can if you want a tour; she is very busy! She is great at getting back to you quickly. After spending three days getting lost in Tuscany (even though we had a GPS) it was so nice to get into Donatellas very comfortable and large van and have her drive. She met us at the designated location (which was easy to find) right on time. We drove through beautiful rolling hills with vineyards of grapes and olives just south of Sienna. She took us to a wonderful small vineyard run by Fabio and his father. You could tell she had a great relationship with the family. They seemed so happy to have us there and were very much into explaining their winemaking and having us try all types. We had at least 5 tastings which they paired with cheese and meats. There was no high pressure sales tactics going on either. We bought a few bottles then and even stopped back by there later for a few more. We went to several more wineries, a cheese making operation, into a small town for strolling, shopping and cookie tasting and also had a fabulous lunch at an organic farm. Donatella is not a cheap day by any means but is well worth what she charges. She kept us busy for 9 hours and then had us follow her into Sienna to show us how to get there and where to park. She is fun, informative and loves what she does. I am planning on going back in the fall and will definately contact her for another tour. She will customize them for you based on what you want to do and where you are staying. Thanks Donatella for a great day. Caio!

We took a tour with Donatella to the Tuscany wine country for the entire day, She picked us up at our hotel in Siena and took us all over the countryside. We visited 4 separate wineries that she took us to as well as a special lunch at an organic farm house. Donatella's Wine Tour

The wine tour we took with Donatella Nonni was a highlight of our vacation. Not only was Donatella knowledgeable and fun she had a tremendous amount of energy. We were able to visit out of the way wineries and were treated to an authentic Tuscan lunch at her friends family villa overlooking vineyards and olive groves. Initially one may think that the tour is expensive but by the end of the day you realize you got you moneys worth and more, Highly recommended.

Wow! The day that we spent with Donatella was absolutely fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable about the wines in this beautiful area and she is simply a delightful lady! We had such fun with her! She took us to a wonderful organic farm that produces high quality cheeses and to two fantastic award winning wineries. The lunch that was provided was actually a huge meal that was delicious beyond words. Donatella goes to such lengths to please her clients and if you book this tour you will absolutely love it!

Donatella surely impressed us with this tour. We were 3 couples staying near Pienza. The price was 150 Euro per person, so expectations were high for this tour. All we knew from the booking was that she promised an excellent tour of "secret gems" with wine tasting, cheese tasting and a lunch at an organic farmhouse; and we knew the reviews were excellent. We were thoroughly impressed. Donatella's "secret gems" were indeed gems and that is the strength of her tour. (I won't reveal any of them). We visited an organic cheese farm; 3 Brunello wineries and the organic farmhouse for lunch. Each experience was simply awesome. These are places you simply couldn't find on your own. The owners were all very passionate about their crafts. They were welcoming and wonderful to listen too....and they all hand these amazing views near Montalcino.

Donatella's wine tour of Tuscany was the best day that we had during our 7 weeks in Europe. Donatella is a very friendly knowledgeable guide with a true love and passion for Tuscany and Tuscan wine. Never in a million years would we have been able to find the our own way around the lanes and by ways of Tuscany to enjoy such a true taste of Tuscan life. A fabulous day, with a fabulous lunch and fabulous wines all with a fabulous person. This a very highly recommended trip. AAAA++++ Donatella's English is excellent. (in fact her English is probably better than my English and I only speak English!!)
