There are currently no COVID-19 travel restrictions in place for the Cayman Islands. All travelers—vaccinated and unvaccinated—are permitted to enter the Cayman Islands, via air or sea, without the need for any additional documents or health-related steps due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before you make your entrance

To make your trip to the Cayman Islands as smooth as possible, please have the following items ready upon your arrival.

(It is, however, understandable if you’re a bit concerned or timid about what you need to do to meet the travel requirements of our Caribbean nation so that you keep yourself and others safe (and have fun!). Have no fear; we’re about to spell out exactly what you need to do to get your toes back in our sugary white sands…

Newest Travel Regulatory Updates

As of early April 2022, the Cayman Islands Government has made the following amendments with respect to COVID and travel.

Any fully vaccinated person may travel to the Cayman Islands without being subject to quarantine on arrival if they: Complete the pre-arrival test, complete the mandatory medical and travel questionnaire and undergo a medical examination. Additionally, if a Customs and Border Control agent considers it necessary one must complete and submit a travel declaration to Travel Cayman in advance of your travel time. This must be done no later than 72 hours before your trip. You also must provide evidence of the travel declaration when requested to do so by a CBC Officer upon arrival in the Cayman Islands.

Other Important Notes – Cruise Ships

As of March 2022 any person disembarking must have completed an approved vaccine course at least two weeks prior to embarking a cruise ship. This applies for captains and crewmembers of the ship as well. Additionally, unvaccinated children under twelve years old can only disembark when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult. Lastly, fully vaccinated travellers can enter the Cayman Islands via cruise ship without having to quarantine. More Important Information For Travellers

Take a breath, it will be okay. We have a few more bits of useful information for those of you readying yourself for arrival. Children the age of 11 and younger will take the vaccination status of their parents. This means that we’re allowing fully vaccinated visitors to travel with children aged eleven and younger. Unvaccinated travellers aged twelve and over are not able to travel to the Cayman Islands at this time unless the visitor has a “close tie” to the nation. A “close tie” is defined as any person who can demonstrate that they own a business or property in the Cayman Islands or has a close family tie. A family tie is anyone that is the spouse, civil partner, sibling, parent, stepparent, grandparent, grandchild, child or stepchild of a Caymanian or Resident. Visiting unaccompanied children under the age of 12 years, even if unvaccinated, will not be required to quarantine under certain conditions. If you are an unvaccinated Caymanian or returning person with resident status you will be required to quarantine for at least seven days. Now that you’re ready to go, lets quickly review the next steps to getting here. First and foremost you must apply to the  Travel Cayman portal  for an official Certificate to Travel by requesting a Travel Declaration. You also must be fully vaccinated by an approved vaccine. Once you’ve fulfilled those obligations you must take a certified rapid antigen test, a PCR test or a NAAT test the day before departure. This test must display a negative result for any travellers the age of five and older. Additionally, this test can be taken at any time the day before your departure. COVID-19 rules

There are no COVID-19 testing or vaccination requirements for travellers entering the Cayman Islands.

Passport validity requirements

To enter the Cayman Islands, your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. 

Check with your travel provider that your passport and other travel documents meet requirements. Renew your passport if you need to.

You will be denied entry if you try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen.

You can enter the Cayman Islands for up to 30 days without a UK passport if you have photo identification and a certified copy of a UK birth certificate, or a naturalisation certificate.

Visa requirements

You can visit the Cayman Islands without a visa for up to 6 months, for business or tourism.

After 6 months, you can apply for an extension – applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

To work, study or request residency, check the Cayman Islands immigration requirements . It is not usually possible to apply for a work permit while you are in the country as a visitor.

For those craving a vacation relaxing in the crystal waters of the Cayman Islands  — some good news. The Caribbean country has rolled back another COVID-19 requirement making it fully open for all vaccinated travelers to visit. 

The country no longer requires anyone who is vaccinated to quarantine. That includes those arriving from countries with rates of vaccination less than 60%. 

Previously, the Cayman Islands required even vaccinated travelers who arrived from countries where the vaccination rate was less than 60% quarantine for 10 days before they could explore the island. 

The country, which was closed off for months, has slowly reopened its borders to visitors. Just last month, the country started welcoming back cruise ships to its shores after a nearly two-year hiatus. 

Applying to travel to the Cayman Islands

Even though restrictions are rolling back, there are still a few things you must do in order to enter the Cayman Islands. 

First, you must register with the Travel Cayman portal  no less than 72 hours prior to departure. You must upload proof of vaccination and apply for a travel declaration to travel to the country. If you have a securely verifiable vaccination record, you'll be able to download your travel declaration immediately. If you have a non-secure vaccination record — like a CDC card —the travel declaration can take up to 5 working days to process so consider that when planning out your application process. 

According to the Cayman Islands' travel website, securely verifiable means "your vaccination record has security features like a hologram or unique QR code which allows your vaccination information to be confirmed." The record typically is in the form of a QR code which, when scanned, shows the traveler's name, date of birth and vaccination information. 

Paper vaccination records are not considered securely verifiable but for US travelers, the Cayman Islands does accept SMART health card records if your health care provider is part of that system. (New York travelers can also use the QR code from the Excelsior Pass Plus platform)

 Unvaccinated children under age 11 will assume the vaccination status of the adult with whom they are traveling.

In addition, travelers over the age of 5 must also provide a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day before departure. To meet this requirement, along with PCR tests, the Cayman Islands will now also accept certified rapid tests.

Travelers also need to have travel and medical insurance where COVID-19 is not an exclusion from coverage.

Arriving in the Caymans by cruise ship

On March 21, the first cruise ships returned to the port at Grand Cayman. Cruise ship travelers are allowed to disembark if they are vaccinated. Those travelers must have completed an approved vaccine course at least 14 days prior to embarking on their selected cruise. Unvaccinated children who are younger than 12 may disembark if they are traveling with a fully vaccinated adult.

The rules also apply to ship captains and crew members. The cruise ship will provide Cayman customs and border agents with a list of passengers and their vaccination status prior to arrival. 

According to the Cayman Compass , the country is limiting the amount of cruise ship traffic to 40% of pre-pandemic passenger volume. Currently, Disney Cruise Line, Carnival, Celebrity and Princess all have cruises scheduled to port in Grand Cayman.

Who is not allowed to travel to the Cayman Islands

Unvaccinated travelers—unless they are children under age 11 traveling with a vaccinated adult—are not  permitted to travel to the Cayman Islands unless they have a “close tie to the island.”

According to the Cayman Island tourism website , those individuals include:

• Those with a business or property in the Cayman Islands
• A spouse, civil partner, sibling, parent, step-parent, grandparent, grandchild, child or stepchild who is Caymanian or a resident.

If permitted to come to the island, unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for 14-days upon arrival.

A guide to the immigration and visa requirements for visiting the Cayman Islands

All people arriving in the Cayman Islands are required to produce to an Immigration Officer a valid passport or other travel document that establishes his identity, nationality and his place of permanent residence. People travelling to the Cayman Islands on a passport are not required to prove their place of permanent residence upon entry; however, people who are able to enter without a passport (i.e. persons permanently resident in and travelling from the UK, the US or Canada) must prove their place of residence. All visitors must have a return ticket.

By law, a person who has no other basis to enter the Cayman Islands (i.e. a Work Permit), and no right to residence, may be admitted into Cayman as a visitor for up to six months, with extensions permissible in rare circumstances thereafter. However, many people arriving in Cayman will be permitted entry for an initial 30 days only, unless they own property in which they will be staying and can demonstrate an ability to maintain themselves during their stay. 

Requirements for Visitors

If a person is admitted as a visitor, wants to stay longer and an extension beyond 30 days was not approved on initial arrival, then they must go to Customs and Border Control (CBC) located on 94A Elgin Avenue in George Town before their time runs out, fill in an extension form and request to remain longer. This process can also be done online at  www.cbc.gov.ky . Fees of CI$50 are payable for the first extension and CI$100 for each further extension. Note: It can get quite expensive after a few months! However, if you plan well in advance and come prepared with a letter showing you can support yourself, have health insurance and have somewhere to live, you may possibly be given a longer period to stay upon landing.

If a visitor is arriving for a significant period, like many of our returning ‘snow birds’ do over the winter period, they will generally be admitted for up to six months. For this, they must show the entry officer their return ticket, a very recent bank or investment statement showing that they have sufficient funds to support themselves and a hotel/condo reservation or a lease. This paperwork is looked at very discreetly and returned to the visitor. If the visitor owns a home in the Cayman Islands and can show the Land Register, then a six month permission will be granted to them and other visitors accompanying them.

Visas for Cayman

Nationals of the USA, Canada, the UK and most countries within the British Commonwealth do not require visas to enter the Cayman Islands. Citizens of Jamaica (between the ages of 15 and 70), Honduras and the Philippines, for example, do. Check the ‘Visa’ section of www.cbc.gov.ky  if you need one. However, if you hold a passport from Jamaica, India or China and you have a US, UK or Canadian Visa, you do not need a separate Cayman Visa. However, you must enter Cayman directly from the country where you hold the visa and can only stay in the Cayman Islands for 30 days. Where visas are required, they must be sought and obtained prior to travel. Contact the British Embassy or Consulate with a visa department that is nearest you. If you are a visitor and would like to remain longer than the amount of time you were given on entry to the Cayman Islands, then the following must be done prior to your time running out:

The applicant must provide evidence of his/her ability to support themselves in the Cayman Islands. If an applicant is dependent upon hospitality being furnished by a friend or relative, the applicant is advised to have his/her host provide proof of support to avoid delay.

The below list of documents (not exhaustive) should be presented together with the application to aid in the processing of an application. Some may not be relevant but gather whatever you think might be needed:

- Travel documents (return plane ticket or confirmation of reservation) - Processing fee - The white landing card (E/D Card) - Proof of finances, or if being sponsored, the sponsors proof of solvency - Birth certificate - Marriage certificate - Evidence of Property/Land registration - Bail bond - Deed poll - Health Insurance - Doctor’s note - Custody or Guardianship agreements

Fees of CI$50 are payable for the first extension and CI$100 for each further extension.

Seeking employment whilst in the Cayman Islands as a visitor

There is no prohibition against seeking employment whilst visiting the Islands as a tourist, however, if you do find employment then you cannot be on the island when the work permit is submitted to the Department of WORC.

A Business Visitor’s Permit & Visitor’s Work Visa

Any business in Cayman that regularly needs workers to come from overseas to work for no more than 14 days on any particular visit may seek to apply for a Business Visitor’s Permit, allowing such individual(s) permission to work for a specified number of visits per year, subject to strict limitations. These Business Visitor’s Permits are not available for people attending for one visit only. Please see this page for the Business Visitors Permit application form . 

There is also a category of Visitor’s Work Visa that permits individuals who are employed outside of the Islands (and who wish to visit for up to five calendar days at a time to engage in commercial activity with a locally licensed entity or person/sponsor) to apply for the grant of a Visitor’s Work Visa. To obtain a grant on arrival, the local business or visiting worker must send to Customs and Border Control a cover letter explaining why the visitor is coming to Cayman and what they are coming to do, and include the 'Visitor Work Visa Letter of Invitation' which can be filled in online, printed off, signed and then emailed - no later than 24 hours before the visitor is arriving - to  [email protected] . It should be noted that once approved, the person will be required to pay CI$100 at the airport. The Visitor’s Work Visa is not available to those who are employed in a professional capacity (lawyers, accountants, medical professionals, architects, surveyors, teachers and other occupations) or who are otherwise not entitled to a work permit by virtue of having reached their term limit. The Visitor’s Work Visa also does not exempt someone from the requirement to obtain an entry visa if they possess a passport from a country that would otherwise require a Visitor’s Visa to enter the Cayman Islands. In addition, a business visitor may not hold more than one Visitor’s Work Visa in relation to the same sponsor or sponsors within the same calendar month, but unlike a Business Visitor’s Permit, a Visitor’s Work Visa may be used for a single visit. Visitor’s Work Visas are dealt with by Customs and Border Control, not WORC.

Requirements to Enter the Cayman Islands

APPLYING TO TRAVEL CAYMAN

Travelers to Cayman must create an account (one account per family can be used   for all members) and apply for a “certificate to travel” at https://travelcayman.gov.ky/home .  

FULLY VACCINATED travelers will apply for a TRAVEL DECLARATION and will identify as “Securely Verifiable” OR as needing to upload vaccine verification such as the CDC card. “Securely Verifiable” QR codes are only issued by specific states, countries or agencies.   For details about obtaining a secure QR code, see https://www.exploregov.ky/faqs/securely-verified-vaccine-faqs#how

A certificate to travel will be issued immediately for those with a verifiable QR code and must be printed to present to Cayman immigration.   If the traveler’s vaccination will be verified through other documentation, the certificate will be issued when the vaccination documentation has been verified by the Cayman Islands government agency. Travelers ages 12 and up must be vaccinated. Children ages 11 and under do not have to be vaccinated; they will assume the vaccination status of their parents. No quarantine required.

Cayman Islands to drop all COVID-19 requirements for travelers

The Cayman Islands announced it is dropping COVID requirements for all travelers entering or those traveling within the British Overseas territory starting Wednesday. 

The decision came "after careful consideration of the local and international situation along with guidance from our public health department and our chief medical officer," Premier, Hon. G. Wayne Panton said in a Friday  press briefing .

"This is obviously following two and a half years of COVID-19-related restrictions we put in place," Panton said. "We are now satisfied that we can safely eliminate all but a few of these remaining public health measures." 

What does this mean for travelers wanting to enter the Cayman Islands?

Travelers will no longer be required to present a negative COVID-19 test, show proof of vaccination, wear a mask, or apply for a Travel Declaration or Travel Request via Travel Cayman.

However, some business owners may choose if they want people to wear masks when in their establishment.

There will also no longer be any limits to public gatherings.

If you do test positive for COVID-19, you are required to quarantine for at least seven days.

What were the previous requirements?

Previously, "unvaccinated tourist visitors (including unvaccinated tourist visitors age 12 and over) who do not have close ties to the country" were not allowed in the Cayman Islands. 

All other travelers, except those arriving via cruise ship, had to apply for a travel certificate that was required for entry, either 72 hours or 5 days prior to their departure.

On June 30, the Cayman Islands had dropped pre-arrival testing, although all travelers are still "strongly encouraged" to get tested during the first seven days after their arrival.

What is the status of COVID in the Cayman Islands?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has determined the Cayman Islands to have a Level 3: High Travel Health Notice for COVID-19. In November 2021, the Cayman Islands was considered to have "very high" levels of COVID-19, with COVID cases spiking to over 1,000 confirmed cases in a week.

According to the World Health Organization, since January 2020, there have been 29 COVID-related deaths and 29,907 confirmed cases in the Cayman Islands. As of Aug. 12, 60,057 people in the Cayman Islands were fully vaccinated (in 2021, the census showed a total population of 69,656.)

Navigating "Travel Cayman"

As of November 20, 2021, tourists may return to the Cayman Islands, however there is a catch in that our borders are not open as they were pre-covid. Technically the Cayman Islands are in Phase 4 of our border reopening plan, which means you must have approval from the new Government entity called Travel Cayman.

Many customers are excited to return, but there's quite a bit of confusion and some delays when it comes to getting the approval from Travel Cayman. The biggest issues we are hearing from our customers are that:

The process is taking a very long time

They have not heard anything back from Travel Cayman

They cannot find their flights on Travel Cayman

Their vaccine record cannot be uploaded

The application process summarized

Here's the very simplified process to book travel to the Cayman Islands:

Get copies of your vaccine record(s.)

Book your flights to Cayman.

Apply to Travel Cayman for each member of your party.

Submit your vaccine record for each member of your party.

Receive your "Travel Certificate" from Travel Cayman, which is needed to board the plane, and enter the Cayman Islands.

This sounds pretty easy, and for some the process takes 5 minutes from the start of the application, to receiving your travel certificate. For others it takes quite a long time. What's the variable?

Travel Declarations vs Travel Requests

It is important to understand there are 2 paths to getting your travel certificate, and here's where it can get a bit confusing. Those with a securely verifiable vaccine record can submit a Travel Declaration . In the application process you answer some questions, then there is an area where you can submit your securely verifiable vaccine record. This is verified by the system electronically, and approved almost instantly. Then you are issued a copy of your travel certificate for printing. A Travel Declaration give you a travel window of 3 months where you may arrive to the Cayman Islands, and is not flight specific.

If your vaccine is not securely verifiable then you must submit a Travel Request. This requires manual approval of your application from the staff at Travel Cayman. . We are told that currently there is a massive backlog on this process. After a period of time, you are emailed a copy of your travel certificate for printing. Travel applicants understandably get very nervous during the pending approval process. In addition, you must submit the exact flight you will be taking to the Cayman Islands with your application, you do not receive a 3 month window like you do with a Travel Declaration.

What does it mean to have your vaccine securely verifiable?

To mitigate fraudulent vaccine records, your vaccine must be able to verified electronically. This means your vaccine record will have a QR code that can be scanned by the person or entity seeking verification - in this case Travel Cayman.

Just because you didn't get a QR code when you received your jab doesn't mean it's not verifiable. In fact, I'm pretty sure no one gets a QR code at the time of the vaccine, it requires you to complete some sort of registration process after the fact, and as a result many don't even know their vaccine can be verified.

Vaccines are verified through what's known as the Common Trust Network , and there are hundreds of participants in this. Every province in Canada, along with the US states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Utah, Virginia and Washington are part of Common Trust.

However, it's not just Government entities in Common Trust. Various pharmacies and other healthcare providers also participate including places like CVS, Walmart, Rite Aid, American Medical Center, and dozens of others.

But wait, there's more! If your vaccine was issued by a medical facility that uses the MyChart (Epic) system or the Cerner HealtheLife app, your vaccine can be verified as well. As of this writing, there are 347 healthcare provider networks using this. Lastly, more states, pharmacies, and health systems will begin issuing SMART Health Cards very soon. So chances are good, your vaccine can in fact be verified.

If you do get your vaccine verified, take the time to add this to your Apple Wallet if an iPhone user, or your Google Wallet if you are an Android user. You'll thank me later for the convenience of this.

Selecting your flights on Travel Cayman

For Travel Request applicants only, this is the second biggest hurdle customers encounter. For non-residents, you must enter the flight you are taking to the islands.

Flights are listed on Travel Cayman only 30 days out. Meaning if your flight is February 3, you're not going to find the flight on the Travel Cayman site until January 3.

Problems uploading your securely verifiable vaccine record

We've had a few people encounter an issue trying to actually upload their vaccine record to the site, myself included.

When you reach the step of the application where it asks you to upload your vaccine record with the QR code, you're presented 2 options. One is to use your computer's webcam and hold the QR code up to it. The second is to upload an image or document file that contains the QR code.

When I tried to use the camera to read my QR code, it flat out refused to work. I could see an image of myself holding the QR code at all sorts of distances and orientations, but nothing seemed to work. However I was able to screenshot the QR code on my phone, and then upload that as an image file via my web browser, and this worked fine.

Some customers had issues getting their QR code image file to be recognized after they uploaded it. After some quick troubleshooting, the culprit turned out to be blurry or dimly lit photos of their paper or electronic records. A QR code consists of black squares arranged in a square grid on a white background, and if there is blur in this image, the computer attempting to read the QR code will not be able to discern a white square from a black one. Make sure the QR code you are attempting to upload is a good sharp image file, preferably downloaded directly from the issuer.

Entry Requirements & Customs in Cayman Islands

All visitors, including those from the U.S. and the British Commonwealth countries, must have a valid return or ongoing plane ticket. All individuals 12 years of age or older are charged a departure tax of CI$20. This tax is included in the cost of airfare.

All U.S. citizens traveling to the Cayman Islands must carry a valid passport. Canadian and U.K. citizens are not required to carry a passport but need to provide proof of citizenship, such as an original birth certificate with a raised seal or a notarized copy of a birth certificate, in addition to a valid government-issued photo ID. Citizens of all other nations need a passport for entry into the Cayman Islands. Travelers carrying passports must ensure their passport is valid for up to 6 months after the scheduled date of return to the home country.

Remember, if you are not a U.S. citizen and you are stopping in or traveling through the U.S., or a U.S. territory (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) before arriving in the Cayman Islands, you will need a passport and possibly a U.S. visa. Visas for the Cayman Islands are not required for U.S., Canadian, U.K., or E.U. citizens, nor for citizens of several countries in South America and the Middle East. Consult www.caymanislands.ky , or your nearest Cayman Islands tourist office, for a full list of nationalities that require a visa for entry. To apply for a visa for the Cayman Islands, you must contact your nearest British Consulate or High Commission Office.

What You Can Bring into the Cayman Islands -- Like all Caribbean islands, the Caymans restrict what visitors can bring. There's a ban on raw fruit and vegetables. Also on their official list for exclusion are "firearms of any kind, pole spears, Hawaiian slings, and spear guns." So as not to upset the delicate ecology of these islands, live plants or plant cuttings are also forbidden. Visitors age 18 or over are allowed to bring in -- duty-free -- 4 liters of wine or one case of beer; 1 liter of alcohol; and 200 cigarettes, 25 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.

What You Can Take Home from the Cayman Islands -- If you are thinking of bringing home sea turtle products (sunglasses, boxes, jewelry, and other accessories), first consult the website of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (www.cites.org). The convention strictly prohibits the importation of sea turtle products into the countries that have signed the agreement. The U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are among the 171 countries that adhere to this convention. In addition, U.S. Customs prohibits the transshipment of turtle products through the United States, and any products discovered will be confiscated.

U.S. Citizens: Returning U.S. citizens who have been away for at least 48 hours are allowed to bring back, once every 30 days, US$800 worth of merchandise duty-free. You'll be charged a flat rate of 4% duty on the next US$1,000 worth of purchases. Be sure to have your receipts handy. On mailed gifts, the duty-free limit is US$200. With some exceptions, you cannot bring fresh fruit and vegetables into the United States.

Canadian Citizens: Canada allows its citizens a C$750 exemption, and you're allowed to bring back duty-free one carton of cigarettes, one can of tobacco, 40 imperial ounces of liquor, and 50 cigars if you meet the minimum age requirements set by the province or territory through which you enter Canada. In addition, you're allowed to mail gifts to Canada valued at less than C$60 each day, provided they're unsolicited and don't contain alcohol or tobacco (write on the package "Unsolicited gift, under C$60 value"). All valuables should be declared on the Y-38 form before departure from Canada, including serial numbers of valuables you already own, such as expensive foreign cameras. Note: The C$750 exemption can be used only once a year and only after an absence of 7 days. For a clear summary of Canadian rules, write for the booklet I Declare, issued by the Canada Border Services Agency (tel. 800/461-9999 in Canada or 204/983-3500; www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca).

U.K. Citizens: U.K. citizens have a Customs allowance of 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 250 grams of smoking tobacco; 4 liters of still table wine; 1 liter of spirits or strong liqueurs (over 22% volume) or 2 liters of fortified wine, sparkling wine, or other liqueurs; 60 cubic centimeters (mL) of perfume; 250 cubic centimeters (mL) of toilet water; and £145 worth of all other goods, including gifts and souvenirs. Individuals 17 and under cannot have the tobacco or alcohol allowance. For more information, contact HM Customs & Excise (tel. 0845/010-9000 in the U.K. or 020/8929-0152; www.hmrc.gov.uk).

Australian Citizens: The duty-free allowance for Australia is A$900 or, for those under 18, A$450. Citizens over age 18 can bring back 250 cigarettes or 250 grams of loose tobacco, and 2.25 liters of alcohol. If you're returning with valuables you already own, such as foreign-made cameras, you should file form B263. A helpful brochure available from Australian consulates or Customs offices is Know Before You Go. New Zealand Citizens: The duty-free allowance for New Zealand is NZ$700. Citizens over 17 can bring back 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco (or a combination of all three if their combined weight doesn't exceed 250g); plus 4.5 liters of wine and beer, or 1.125 liters of liquor. New Zealand currency does not carry import or export restrictions. Fill out a certificate of export, listing the valuables you are taking out of the country; that way, you can bring them back without paying duty. Most questions are answered in a free pamphlet available at New Zealand consulates and Customs offices: New Zealand Customs Guide for Travellers, Notice No. 4. Medical Requirements

Unless you're arriving from an area known to be suffering from an epidemic (particularly cholera or yellow fever), inoculations or vaccinations are not required for entry into the Cayman Islands.

You may apply for an “Emergency Certificate” if you have an emergency and you are unable to obtain a regular passport.

An Emergency Certificate is a temporary travel document that is issued for specific travel. This document is subject to acceptance by the respective airlines and country of destination. It is recommended that you contact your airline before applying for this document. Once your airline has communicated their willingness to accept the document you will be required to complete a passport application and submit the following documents:

• Birth Certificate or Expired Passport.
