Q&A w/IMC President, Landon Beene (CARAVAN TOUR)

IMC CONCERTS announces the The Gospel Music Caravan coming to the West Coast! This new tour will be making stops in Washington, Oregon and California in the summer of 2023! The Gospel Music Caravan Tour is a TWO-DAY event in each location that will include three dynamic sessions with some of the biggest names in Gospel Music! This tour is designed for local and regional gospel music fans to enjoy near their homes or take a road trip and join us while we travel down the west coast going to multiple cities.

We sat down with Landon to discuss the details of this dynamic new tour.

“I grew up in California and have great memories of when two or three gospel groups would come out to our area on tour together in the 80’s and 90’s. Those multi-artists tours are the inspiration for the Caravan Tour.” - Landon Beene

How did you come up with the concept for this tour?

The (West Coast) Gospel Music Caravan is a twofold concept: bringing a big event to people who love gospel music and bringing those people along on the tour!

IMC has always had a passion for bringing gospel music to the West Coast. I grew up in California and have great memories of when two or three gospel groups would come out to our area on tour together in the 80s and 90s. Those multi-artist tours are the inspiration for the Caravan Tour.

Why these four cities? 

If you look at the map, these four markets are evenly spread out, from top to bottom, on the U.S. West Coast. We realize that in order to keep this music alive on that side of the country, we need to take the music to THEM! The pandemic has really caused a lapse in gospel music going into the region, as well as the western provinces of Canada. Single night tours are still happening, but the larger events have diminished over the last few years. Our goal is to change that.

Why have you decided on multi-day events in each market?

IMC hosts several multi-day events each year. We have seen the benefit of hosting  several sessions in order to maximize the time at the events. It gives those people who are driving long distances the opportunity to take in more music and have a more meaningful overall experience.

Why are there days scheduled in between the concert dates?

While on tour, artists typically travel to a different market each night. They travel on a motor coach and are able to sleep while heading to the next concert date.  We are hoping that many of the attendees will want to travel along with the caravan to each market. This is why we have intentionally included a few days  off between stops; to create a travel schedule that accommodates the attendees. It also provides the opportunity for artists and attendees alike to enjoy free time, enabling them to sightsee along the way.

Is each event the same?

There will be some similarities, yes, but while four of the artists will act as hosts at all of the events, each market will showcase two additional artists so that each event will be fresh and slightly different. By doing this, we have been able to include the top artists in gospel music during the 12-day caravan.

What if attendees can only come to one or two of the events?

Great question! Each event will be priced and ticketed separately as a stand-alone event. This way our attendees can pick and choose which events they want to attend. Our hope is that many people will choose to make more than one stop with us. We also hope to have people from the South, Midwest and East Coast who will fly into the first event, rent a car or van and join us for the entirety of our first-ever Caravan Tour!

Live reviews

MercyMe is a Christian rock band. Most people are turned off when they hear Christian for a number of reasons. Most I think believe the music will sound "churchy", but nothing could be further from the truth. The music is comparable to what is played on mainstream radio minus all the overt sexual innuendos and excessive expletives. I Can Only Imagine carries a beautiful message of hope and grace which is extended universally and unconditionally. I really enjoyed seeing this performed live. It overwhelmed me with emotion, and I wasn't the only. I observed a few people shedding tears. It really had an emotional impact. That was quite a remarkable thing to witness.

MercyMe's lead vocalist somewhat reminds me of the lead vocalist from the country group Rascal Flatts. I am not sure why though. I guess because both men sing from the heart with real and true emotion. Nothing is put on for show, it's authentic and greatly appreciated. The venue in which I saw this particular group was a mega church. While there were a lot of people it still felt rather intimate overall. I loved it. I would recommend seeing MercyMe live if presented with that chance to do so.

What an awesome night of music, inspiration, and laughter. Upgrading to Platinum was a great choice. Maybe next time I'll do VIP. The whole night was good, start to finish. Tim Timmons was very good- introducing me to some new music. John Lynch spoke twice, once before Phil Wickham and again during MercyMe's set. He drew us in with a very unique story of trying really hard wearing a mask, and then trying (without effort) grace. Phil Wickham was amazing. His voice is like no other and he led us to the Throne. After Phil Wickham, Compassion International was introduced- they do good work. A short intermission and then....MercyMe!

MercyMe didn't disappoint. They sang their hearts out and, in my humble opinion, rocked our faces off. Bart was a champ- performing while having walking pneumonia. Their message was on point and the music was awesome. They did most of our favorites and there was so way they could do every song, Hold Fast, for example. They did a great medley of their past hits.

All in all, a great night. I will see them again!

Christian rockers MercyMe really do prove that faith and music have an unspoken critical bond. Every band member is visibly passionate about their performance and really invests every part of themselves into every single show as it clearly matters greatly to them that they perform well to each and every crowd.

Having earned a reputation following the increasing commercial success of their albums, the band have seen their live shows take place on noticeably larger stages yet they still maintain an atmosphere of intimacy by building a connection with the crowd. They speak about their formation, the song meanings and of course their faith and Christianity extensively during the show.

They perform a heartfelt rendition of 'Beautiful' which makes the whole room turn completely silent before they receive deafening applause at its closure. The band clearly shows that sincerity in modern performance can really take you far these days.

Writing a review is easy to do when it’s about a MercyMe concert.

Wild antics- Happy Dance brought them out “And now, that joy wants out

Happy dance…” Out came 3 wild dancers on stage while the rest of us in the audience did our own wild happy dance.

Memorable moments - surrounded by beautiful people who love Jesus. A lovely young lady sat beside me and out of no where she ask me “Do you have any gum?” What’s so amazing is I think I’m addicted to gum. So I pulled out a packet of 100 pieces which I carry with me most of the time.

Sharing gum at a MercyMe concert was the best happenstance ever. As she left she thanked me again for sharing my gum.

Highlights -

From the bottom of our hearts my husband and I thank MercyMe, Ryan Stevenson and Unspoken for sharing their stories and love for Jesus in song at #LiferTour Orlando FL. We loved their personal messages shared in between performances.

The show was fantastic. We had excellent seats and the music could not have been any better. My grandson (12 years old)said it was the best concert. We have been to all year. And we have been to 3 others already before MercyMe. Of course, my favorite song, Even If, was sung which had me crying like a baby, then Bret started singing, The Old Rugged Cross, which made me cry harder. I lost my dad last year and to this day I can hear him sing The Old Rugged Cross, just like he always did. If you would say daddy please sing he sang that song up until he died. MercyMe put on one of the most memorable concerts ever and also one that got and kept the crowd on their feet. I will forever be grateful for spreading the word of Jesus through song, I saw my "honorary" grandson smile throughout the concert. I think his hardened heart (he's 18) was cracked.

I cannot wait for their return to Tulsa, OK!!!!! HAPPY DANCE!!!

MercyMe has always been one of my favorite Christian artist groups for the first time out of the three times in the last year that I got to see them I gotta meet with the band they really are an awesome group of guys anytime that they'll be in town definitely will be seeing them their music is so powerful and our most recent album relates very well in my life as well as my partners Thank You Mercy Me for everything that you've done I can't wait to hear this amazing journey leads to

An absolutely amazing concert. Fresh and new. These guys are terrific. Song selection and testimonials were wonderful. My heart was filled with the holy spirit when I left.

The opening acts were the perfect way to start out. Not too much, or too little. Breaks in between were not super long.

For the money this was a A+ concert.

As usual Mercy Me did not disappoint us. The new music is amazing and they played a mix of old songs that was fun. They played for almost Two hours. Micah Taylor was funny and has a great voice. Hawk Nelson played several of their popular songs. I wish Mercy Me came to town more often, they are definitely one of my favorite bands.

I took four friends to the concert. It was amazing. Each person was touched in their own way from the songs. I have been to six concerts in the last year, this line-up with Mercy Me and the other groups was the BEST. We are already going to book for 2019! Can’t say enough about the concert. We loved it from start to finish!

This was our first time seeing you,a thousand myself hearing you, but hubbys 1st and we so both enjoyed you so much. My husband came home and added you to his music list, and that’s Hugh thank you so much for your music,your kindness, your heart you shared.

I love you I’ll be praying for your son also

Nashville, TN (November 2, 2023) World Vision presents the Winter Jam 2024 Tour, founded by Newsong and produced by Premier Productions. Christian music’s biggest tour with performances by Crowder, Lecrae, CAIN, Katy Nichole, Seventh Day Slumber, Newsong, including Speaker Zane Black. Winter Jam 2024 kicks off on January 12th in Mobile, AL and will hit a total of 39 cities and arenas around the country including, Tampa, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; Memphis, TN, and St. Louis, MO. This year’s Winter Jam will feature first time tour performers including CAIN, Katy Nichole, Seventh Day Slumber and Joseph O’Brien.

“I can’t wait to be out on Winter Jam again! It’s a special thing and there’s nothing else like it. I’m honored to be a part,” said Crowder. “The lineup this year looks incredible – some of my favorite folks will be there and I am beyond excited to be back out there singing to God together! GRAMMY nominated artist, Crowder will perform hits from his current album, Milk & Honey, including his No. 1 Billboard Hot Gospel Song, “God Really Loves Us,” along with his other chart toppers including “Good God Almighty,” “In The House,” “All My Hope,” and “Come As You Are.”

Lecrae, the GRAMMY Award winning artist that blends faith with hip hop, will join Winter Jam 2024 and perform hits from his current chart-topping album, Church Clothes 4 Deluxe, including hits from his past #1 album, Anomaly.

Award-winning sibling trio, CAIN will perform their No. 1 back-to-back radio hits “Rise Up (Lazarus)” and “Yes He Can,” both songs from their first full-length album Rise Up, along with hits from their worship project, Honest Offering as well as their new album Jesus Music.

Christian musician, singer, songwriter and Dove Award winning New Artist Of The Year, Katy Nichole, will perform songs from her debut album Jesus Changed My Life, including “In Jesus Name,” “Hold On,” and “God Is In This Story.” After being featured on America’s Got Talent, Joseph O’Brien will be joining the Winter Jam tour for the first time ever and perform his new single, “Give Up On Love,” as well as “Take Your Time,” and “Down On My Heart.”

Amen! Christian music star Chris Tomlin bringing 'Holy Forever' tour to Canton in October

• Contemporary Christian music star Chris Tomlin will perform on Oct. 25 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
• Canton is part of a second leg of Tomlin's "Holy Forever" tour, which includes shows in major cities and overseas.
• The Grammy-winning artist has a slew of hit songs in the Christian music genre.

CANTON − Contemporary Christian music star Chris Tomlin will bring his "Holy Forever" world tour to the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Oct. 25.

Tomlin follows other nationally touring entertainers who have performed at the Canton Memorial Civic Center in recent months, including country music artists Cole Swindell and most recently, Brantley Gilbert. Comedian Jeff Dunham performed at the venue this past Saturday before a sold-out crowd.

The 51-year-old singer-songwriter has scored No. 1 songs in the Christian music genre while selling more than 12 million albums and amassing 6.8 billion global streams. He's also received numerous Billboard Music Awards and Dove Awards while being recognized as an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year and BMI Songwriter of the Year, according to Tomlin's news release.

Hit song 'Holy Forever' tallies more than 140 million streams

The Grammy-nominated " Holy Forever " topped Billboard's streaming, airplay and sales-based Hot Christian Songs charts while tallying more than 140 million streams.

“I never could have imagined how quickly the song would connect with the church around the world," Tomlin says on his website.

Tomlin also has garnered millions of YouTube views for the songs "Nobody Loves Me Like You" and " Is He Worthy ?"

“Tomlin’s name has become synonymous with modern worship music, as the Texas native has issued songs that have evolved into music standards sung by church congregations around the world," Billboard said.

Tomlin is among only a handful of musical artists to receive the SoundExchange Digital Radio Award for more than 1 billion digital radio streams, joining Justin Timberlake, Pitbull and Garth Brooks, the news release said.

He's also the first Christian artist to reach a billion streams on the music streaming platform Pandora.

Canton Civic Center is only Ohio tour stop

The Grammy winner's tour includes stops in Nashville, Boston, St. Louis, Kansas City, Seattle and Anaheim, as well as Germany, England, Hungary and Ireland. Tomlin will be performing at arenas seating more than 10,000 people and up to nearly 20,000. The Canton Memorial Civic Center is among the the smaller venues on the tour, seating around 5,000.

The Canton concert will be on the second leg of Tomlin's tour, which includes shows in Phoenix, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Houston, Orlando, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore and Indianapolis. Opening acts on some stops will be CAIN and Tauren Wells .

Canton is Tomlin's only Ohio show on the tour.

Tickets start at $20 plus fees

Earlier this month, Tomlin released the album, "Live From Good Friday." In 2022, he released the studio album, "Always," which features "Holy Forever," as well as "Always," "I See You" and "O Lord, You're Beautiful."

Tomlin also recently released the book , "How Great is Our God: Living a Worship-Led Life in a Me-Driven World."

Tickets for Tomlin's Canton concert go on sale to the general public starting at 11 a.m. Thursday. Tickets range from $20 to $95 plus fees for the 7 p.m. event and also can be purchased from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the box office at the Civic Center, 1101 Market Ave. N.

Santigold Announces New Shows After Canceling Entire Tour in 2022

Fans of Santigold will finally be able to catch the star in concert.

On Tuesday, the musician announced that she’ll be hitting the road for several spaced-out shows through June, August, and October this year after she canceled her Holified Tour in 2022 , citing artist welfare and the mental-health and economic challenges plaguing those who make music for a living.

The new run of shows includes appearances at Redondo Beach’s Beachlife Festival in May and Seattle Pride in June. She’ll also stop at New York’s Terminal 5 and Toronto’s Rebel in August, before resuming her tour in October with shows in Portland and Vancouver.

Artists like Lil Wayne, Diplo and 2 Chainz will be at Travis Kelce’s Music Festival, Kelce Jam coming to Kansas next month.

Third-time Super Bowl winner and Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce is bringing his second annual music festival back for another year. Kelce Jam will be at the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, KS on Saturday, May 18. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 5. Fans can shop for tickets online now by using reliable third-party vendors like StubHub and VividSeats .

The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards are underway!

The annual awards show, hosted by Ludacris, aired live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on FOX, and the winners poured in.

Taylor Swift led this year's nominations with nine total, followed by Jelly Roll ,  SZA  and  21 Savage with eight nods each and Olivia Rodrigo  at seven.

A few special honors were announced ahead of this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards, with Cher receiving the Icon Award, Beyoncé taking home the Innovator Award and both Green Day  and  TLC getting iHeartRadio Landmark Awards.

In an interview with PEOPLE ahead of the ceremony, Ludacris said he was most looking forward to the "variety" at this year's show, which will feature performances from the rapper himself as well as Justin Timberlake ,  Green Day ,  TLC ,  Jelly Roll ,  Lainey Wilson  and  Tate McRae .

"I love that you got Jelly Roll on here, you got Lainey Wilson, you got Justin Timberlake," said Ludacris, 46. "I just want to be a part of greatness. It's so much talent, so much energy and so much stuff to look forward to — and some surprises as well."

A swift rebound and unprecedented tickets sales for live music after pandemic shut venues down

Powered by big stadium tours from artists like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, ticket sales are booming and it appears likely that live acts will continue to draw massive crowds this year after the pandemic closed down concert venues globally for close to two years.

Concert and event producer Live Nation confirmed this week what data has been showing for more than a year: With COVID largely in the rearview mirror, millions are seeking entertainment away from home and they’re willing to spend a lot of money to do it.

Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, said in a filing with regulators this week that 2023 brought all-time highs in both attendance and ticket sales.

Attendance jumped a 20% to a staggering 145 million in 2023, compared with the previous year.

In 2021, when venues began reopening with mask requirements, attendance was a paltry 35 million. The company is not providing attendance figures for 2020, when COVID-19 began to spread. Attendance was 98 million in 2019.

Live Nation expects demand to continue to snowball.

“This is going to be a great year,” CEO Michael Rapino told investors on a conference call Thursday. “We actually look at 2025, it looks like it’s going to be a monster stadium year again as that pipe kind of reloads itself.”

And though Live Nation controls a huge part of the live event sector, others are also predicting big growth for the broader industry in the coming years.

In December, entertainment data firm Pollstar reported that Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was the first tour to cross the billion-dollar mark in revenue and predicted a big 2024 for Swift as well. The magazine projected the Eras Tour will once again reach $1 billion within their eligibility window, meaning Swift is likely to bring in over $2 billion over the span of the tour.

In worldwide revenue, Swift’s tour was followed by Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. But it was a big year musically beyond top-tier tours.

Ticket sales for the top 100 tours of the year worldwide jumped 46% from 2022, bringing in $9.17 billion in sales.

In North America, that number jumped from $4.77 billion in 2022 to $6.63 billion last year.

Additionally, an October report from Allied Market Research forecasts that the global live events industry market — which includes everything from concerts to sporting events to conference — would double in value, reaching $1.2 trillion by 2032.
