A Wonderful trip

This is the first time we booked with Asia Odyssey Travel for a private tour to Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Chongqing & Yangtze River Cruise, we had a wonderful holiday with the well organised trip by our travel consultant Mr Issac. Mr Issac is very responsive and helpful in planning the whole journey from the start to finish. He was in frequent contact with us upon arrival of each city to make sure we were ok. The hotels, train tickets, cruise tickets bookings and transport were well organised throughout the whole journey. All our tour guides like Arthur (Jiuzhaigou), Rosa (Chengdu), Coline (Chongqing) were super friendly and knowledgeable with good command of English. Our drivers were equally good, transporting us safely from one destination to another. Highly recommend Asia Odyssey Travel and will definitely book with them again if we visit Xinjiang/Tibet next year. Thank you.

Panamanians in China

It was a trial and error task at first, becoming a solid plan after few weeks. Expert travel coordination by Asia Odyssey even in the bustling golden week holiday in China. The tour began in Beijin, Xian, Guilin, Yangshuo, Zhangjiajie, all the way to Shanghai in a smooth assemble of flights and train transportation, local private commuting service, experts tour guides who made the visit a inmersive cultural rollercoaster. And, cossy-to-grand hotel accomodations. Such a hassle free and reliable guidance for an exciting experience for us, first timers panamanians in China. Asia odyssey tours did a great job…

Asia odyssey tours did a great job start to finish. Prior to leaving for our tour, Kyle was in frequent contact with a very quick response time. And once there, our tour guide (Karma) driver (Yeshi) were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and finny! Bhutan is a wonderful country and Karma and Yeshi made us feel right at home. They even invited us to one of their local hangouts one evening to play snookers. Highly recommend Asia odyssey tours.

Great Taiwan Trip with our planner, Leo, our Driver, Mr Liu and our Guide, Ellery

Great Taiwan Trip with our driver, Mr Liu (劉興紳) and English speaking guide, Ellery (陳俊聖). We had a great time in Taiwan. Though the duration was short (Dec 3 to Dec 8), Mr Leo Li planned the itinerary well with places of interest we would like to visit. Leo is always contactable and prompt in his reply. The hotels he recommended were good, especially Hotel Del Lago at Sun Moon Lake. Our driver took good care of the elderly in our family, held onto them when they got down the van. Our tour guide is knowledgeable and he recommended good dining places for our family. The only thing we didn't like was the weather as it rained on the day we visited Sun Moon Lake and Yehliu. Overall, we had a great time and thank you Leo, Ellery and Mr Liu for the memorable Taiwan trip our family had.

A tour of amazing landscapes, religions and traditions

Tibet-Nepal-India We went on a 26 days tour organized by Mr. Isaac, who was a very efficient adviser suggesting the places to see in each country we visited. Mr. Isaac was very helpful with the process to get the Chinese visa and especially with the procedure to obtain the permit to enter Tibet. In Tibet we had an excellent tour guide, Mr. Lobsan, very professional, who spoke great English and accompanied us in Lhasa for a city tour and monasteries and also to the visit to the Everest base camp from the Tibet side. It was a wonderful experience to see the sunset from this place. In Nepal, we also had very good English-speaking tour guides. Mr. Ragun in Kathmandu, very knowledgeable of the city as well as of Buddhism, and in Pokhara Mr. Krisna gave us a very good tour of the city, the caves, and experience a nice mountain view of the sunrise. In India we had a private tour organized by Mr. Isaac to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur and Udaipur. All this time we were with Mr. Man Mohan Singh, an excellent driver, very professional and knowledgeable of all the places. Overall, we were very happy with the professional assistance of Mr. Isaac who was all the time ready to answer our questions. We highly recommend Odyssey Travel.

An experience for the lifetime

Isaac, my tour operator, made an itinerary to the best of my choice. He tweaked it several times just so as to make it an experience for me, may it be meeting a model I've admired since I was a kid or getting to hike, he accommodated as much as he could. Excellent service highly recommended

This is the first time we booked with Asia Odyssey and the 5 star reviews didn’t disappoint! Vincent and the whole team were outstanding from start to finish. Any specific requests accommodated quickly such as our ask to visit a remote part of the Great Wall in Jinshanling through to the excellent hotels throughout the stay. Taiwan in the most positive light

The company gave an all-time honest and helpful treatment to the clients, establishing the human connection and trust. A wonderful family trip for us

A wonderful family trip for us. My parents and I enjoyed it a lot! Kyle is always very responsive to my questions — his recommendations and advice also turned out to be very helpful. Our tourist guide, Rinzin was also great. He is fluent in English and Chinese, so he communicated with my parents very well. The itinerary for each day was clear and well-arranged. Each meal was taken care of with a lot of effort. We tried plenty of healthy organic vegetable products from Bhutan. Besides, we were lucky to have a very experienced driver. I didn't feel dizzy at all, even after the trips across the mountains.

India, Bhutan and Kathmandu- Excellent Trip!

From planning, visa's, hotels, guides and drivers, Asian Odyssey Travel was perfect. My wife and I just got back from enjoying our travel between Delhi, Agra, Bhutan and Kathmandu. We were met on arrival at Delhi and had guides and drivers for 10 days up to the time we arrived at the Kathmandu for our flight home. We were given top attention by everyone, including AOT's Kyle who kept watch during our trip. Everything was wonderful! The food and hotels were all excellent. Of course, the highlights were the Taj Mahal at sunrise, traveling through Bhutan, seeing their beautiful people (and Tigers Nest) and taking in the intensity of Kathmandu. If we ever travel to the area again, I would not hesitate to use AOT again!

Beautiful and majestic

A dream come true!

For a long time, Tibet has been at the top of my bucket list of places to visit in China. As I have planned to travel to Shanghai for some business, I took the opportunity to extend my stay and plan for a trip to Tibet. My plan was to travel overland from Shanghai to Tibet and fly out. I came across Asia Odyssey from a Chinese online forum and got in touch with them. They are patient and helpful enough to assist me with my travel requirements in and out of Tibet. On top of that, the entire trip are well planned and well executed. All the necessary documents like Tibet entry permit and tickets are settled promptly for me. Furthermore, the tour guide assigned to my group was caring, friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Granted, some food provided may need some improvements, particularly in EBC stay but all in all it was an unforgettable experience and definitely a dream come true for me.

China tour - 10 days ( Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Shanghai)

1) The itinerary is quite good as it included a combination of history, cultural experience, nature, amazing structures, great landscapes. 2) The food and commute arrangements were very good. 3) The guides arranged were very accommodating and very considerate of every members needs. 4) It was never stressful, even in instances of uncontrollable situations like bad weather etc, alternate arrangements were done ensuring not much impact. If any attraction could not covered due to uncontrollable condition refund was promptly done. 5) Customers comfort was given the highest importance. 6) Can relook on the itinerary if some of the sights can't be covered due to difficulty in getting entrance ( or can be mentioned as optional), to avoid disappointment later.

Customised Beijing, Chengde and Tianjin tour

We booked a customised 11-day 3 cities tour with Vicky in April 2024. Vicky's level and professionalism, patience, and understanding are highly appreciated as she listened to our requirements and planned a tour that exceeded our expectations and provided us with a lasting memory of our first China tour. She constantly stayed in touch throughout our tour to ensure that all 5 of us are well taken care of! Service par excellence indeed! Our local guide, Andy, was extremely helpful, informative and accommodating to some of our changing needs during the entire tour and is always available to help with the translation to English as required. Andy is extremely patient and certainly makes our entirely journey a pleasant and memorable one. Even our driver for the entire journey must be commended for his fantastic service and driving skills that makes all of us feel very safe on the highways of Beijing, Chengde and Tianjin. Wonderful trip to Beijing and Shanghai

My family and I just returned from a wonderful 9D/8N trip to Beijing and Shanghai. For the Beijing leg of the trip I decided to book a private 3 days tour with Asia Odyssey Travel since it was our first time there. My travel consultant from Asia Odyssey Travel was Rex and he was extremely helpful with recommendations and making the necessary arrangements for our tour of Beijing. He also helped us with the purchase of HSR tickets from Beijing to Shanghai and arranged for a driver to pick us from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to our hotel in Shanghai Our tour guide in Beijing was Selina who is fluent in English. She is a lovely and friendly guide who is knowledgeable of the places that we visited. We were also assigned a friendly driver for our trip in Beijing. He picked us up from airport when we arrived in Beijing and sent us to railway station to catch our train to Shanghai. I will definitely go back to Asia Odyssey Travel for any future trips to China. Really great 5 day trip to Bhutan

Really great 5 day trip to Bhutan. This was made all the more enjoyable by both the guide, Namgay and driver Mr. Tshering. Namgay has encyclopedic knowledge of Bhutan, it's culture, history and practices, so was able to answer any questions and provide important context at sites we visited. While we spent more time with the guide, our driver too went above expectations - importantly being safe, reliable and flexible to our needs. Both were great hosts, personable and polite. Each day of the trip just got better and better. I cannot recommend both of them highly enough. A place and two people I would hope to see again in the future.

Excellent services n itinerary

The concern, caring n detailed attention and preparation and information provided by Ms Chia and Driver Leo are worth commenting. Kind and Patient Travel Company

I just went on a 7days 6nights trip to Bhutan and it was amazing. I sent my inquiries to about 4 different tour agents and Odyssey Travels got back to me immediately. My consultant was a Mr Vincent Luan and he was a great help to me. Always patient and prompt on his replies. Thank you so much Vincent! My guides for the week was a Mr Songnam Wangdi and I wholeheartedly recommend him should anyone visits Bhutan. He was friendly, always punctual and so knowledgeable about the history of his country and Buddhist monuments. I am grateful to have met such a lovely guide. We had a very friendly driver, a Mr Yeshi too. He was humorous, also friendly and knows his way around town well. I really couldn’t have met a better consultant, guide and driver for this trip. It was perfect. The hotels were comfortable (you are able to mix and match) and Bhutanese food is delicious. My daily trips were also fully customizable as long as I discussed with the guide. With this experience I would absolutely go back to Odyssey Travels for any future trips to Nepal or Tibet. Thank you so much for all your kindness and patience. It was a memorable trip.

We started our 10 days Guizhou Experience arranged by Vincent of Asia Odyssey Travels from 20th March to 29th March visiting Anshun, Libo, Zhaoxing, Jiabang, Xijiang & Guiyang. The places of interest visited were awesome, beautiful & breathtaking especially the Jiabang rice terraces. The itinerary was ideal for us, a group of seniors thanks to Vincent's careful planning, advice & foresight we spent less hours on the road daily. We had a very experienced English speaking tour guide, Howard. Not only was his narrative clear & interesting but he was patient & took our questions well. He was patient, tolerant, thoughtful & considerate. Being a group of seniors he had our best interests in mind. He was also respectful & jovial too. The driver Mr. Yueh & him make a good team. Sifu Yueh driving skills are excellent & we felt safe with him driving us along winding roads up & down hill.

10 days Guizhou experience As a senior with knee and back problems I was quite apprehensive thinking about going on this trip. But I am glad I did as it was an amazing experience especially with a wonderful tour guide like Howard. He was very caring and patient and took good care of everyone in our group. His English was remarkable and explained to us in detail about Guizhou’s culture and history which I found fascinating. Kudos to our driver Mr Yueh too. Private tour to Bhutan

We are Austrians and contacted AOT for a tour to Bhutan. The itinerary was was interesting and all was planed well. Our highlights were the festival in Paro and the walk to the tiger nest. Our guide Mrs. Cheni gave us a good overview about Bhutan`s culture and tradition. During our tour the Prime Minister of India also made a visit to Bhutan and for two day the roads were blocked from 9:00 to 11:00am. In order to reach the festival of Paro before the road blockage Mrs. Cheni organized this trip for 6:00am. We were very satisfied with this tour and will recommend to our Austrian friends the company AOT and the guide Mrs. Cheni.

An amazing experience with a group of friends and an opportunity to meet new friends - It makes a tremendous difference having Howard as our tour guide - English speaking and so knowledgeable about the cultures and heritage of the places we visited. Nothing was too much for him and he went an extra mile for us seniors . The driver Mr Yeuh was an excellent driver and I was really impressed with his careful manoeuvres when our bus came across a castrophobic situation, no panic on the narrow winding roads . Both Howard and Mr Yueh blended very well with us - good team spirit . Not to be forgotten our treat of Moutai drinks on them and “Yum Seng” cajoles . An awesome experience !! I certainly would recommend both Howard and Mr Yueh

10 Days Guizhou Experience

My first time travelling with Odyssey Travel . The organiser Vincent is good in arranging / organising our itinerary prior our trip. Our expect guide Howard , who accompanied us was needless to say much : Attentive, Informative, Patience, thoughtful .. After 10 days we are like friends , we will miss him. The itinerary was well planned to suit our group of mostly senior citizens with aches all over the body after 3rd day but importantly we made it ! Praises to our travel mates . Not to mention our driver Xiao Yue , he is small in size but he has a perfect 10 driving skills maneuver a U-turn on a busy street , no sweat to avoid obstacle with a huge trailer carrying a very long windmill on a narrow winding road. I would highly recommend to friends & myself for my next trip to China. A big Thank you to Howard & Xiao Yue for a memorable trip .

Good package with great guides

Thanks to AOT to make wonderful program which helps travelers to experience China with variety within limited period of time. All guides were excellent and had a good knowledge and willing to help beyond their duty hours whenever we need it. Ethan, Liulola, Jeremy and Hannah were good in his job and helped us whenever we need him. All were more hardworking and tried to utilize their knowledge to explain us every possible details. I say All guides were above 4.9 of 5 Food arrangements were ok 4/5 Transportation was good 5/5 Punctuality 5/5 Stay 5/5 (Considerate of Package) In short It was memorable experience and thanks for you arranging. There are some suggestions also- I would like to keep E bike tour at Yangzhou (Can be included in package), as normal bike riding may be difficult for some kind of people and may not be feasible due to Health considerations. Also, Shanghai is being wonerful city, siteseeing experinece was limited and had to explore on my own, i woukd like to suggest inclusion of some additional locations in Shanghai, to make it two days or atleast one and half day of sightseeing. Overall, I will give you 4.5/5 for overall travel company experience and will definitely look Forword for some great options.

I Left My Heart In Zhangjiajie ❤️

I'm a Singaporean traveller. Chanced upon them while I googled and booked a last min private solo tour with AOT to Shanghai, Zhangjiajie and Chongqing. I was served by AOT staff Rita who was very patient in answering all my questions and last min requests and provided me with knowledgeable advice on my trip. Just like any holiday trip, there were some minor hiccups but still didn't affect or hinder my experience. I would like to thank all tour guides and drivers whom have been instrumental in making my trip a very memorable one. Special mention to my tour guide in Zhangjiajie Ms Rita Wang and 杨师傅，whom both served their client with their sincerest hearts and looking into the smallest details to ensure I get the best experience in Zhangjiajie. Wonderful Kunming!

It a good and smooth experience when I deal with Miss Jessica. She are really helpful through our journey to Kunming. When me and my family touched down at airport, the tour guide and drivers are really welcoming which we feel warm in our heart. Through our days in Kunming, there a lot a nice place that been arranged as our request such as Halal Restaurant and etc. The place really breathtaking and beautiful. A very enjoyable trip covering nearly all of Taiwan

A very enjoyable trip covering nearly all of Taiwan, with extremely helpful and informative Ms. Chia. The hotels were better than I expected though food at times was a bit of a problem for me because I'm not used to walking in the street eating my meal, which is what the locals often do. Our driver Mr Gau, though also very pleasant and helpful, sometimes made me nervous because he tended to get engrossed in conversations and didn't always pay as much attention to traffic conditions as he should.

10 Days Guizhou Experience

It was a remarkable experience visiting Guizhou with so much adventures , fun and photo taking beautiful live scenery. Even tho there were so much walking , we were so excited and impressed and forgotten aching legs because with our tour guide, Howard, he made our journey so safe and memorable with his commitment and responsibilities of everyone. We have confidence with him being our leader being so patience and efficient overall. The driver, Yueh sifu was a super driver and safe knowing our life's was in his hand even on high winding mountains. This is the first time I experienced such an emotional farewell to Howard and Yueh sifu even tho I travelled alot. Thank you for sending these two to take care of our journey.

Excellent Bhutan private tour service!

Excellent private tour service for Bhutan! Our guide, Ugyen, was extremely informed, patient, flexible, and full of useful information for our time in Bhutan. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had an excellent experience! I believe it is technically possible to travel without a tour guide through Bhutan as of 2023-4; however, I would not recommend it, due to lack of tourist infrastructure for solo travelers and an overall lower quality traveling experience. The itinerary planned by AOT flowed very well, and organizing everything pre-trip with Vincent was a breeze. We would highly recommend! Wouldn't have done it any other way.

The trip took place 02.04.2024–12.04.2024. Shanghai →(plane) Zhangjiajie → (plane) Xi’an → (bullet train) Beijing. I had a mixed experience with this company. From one hand we visited a lot of interesting places, from the other - a company made a lot of mistakes during our trip. I rate this company for 2/5 to bring your attention to some moments from our trip which were described in more details on the medium.com. Google it by "China Tour with Asia Odyssey Travel: Rookie Mistakes by Experienced Company" - I can't add a link here due to the policy of the platform. Some short info with ratings: - Contact person: 2/5 stars. A contact person Allan was quite communicative before paying the deposit and changed a lot to the worse side afterward. His response time by email increased dramatically. He didn’t provide enough transparency through the whole trip: no official hotels confirmation, no guides’ contacts in advance (we had to ask it ourselves), no info in advance about the situation with VPN, useful apps (such as AliPay, WeChat etc), simcards etc. - A guid in Xi'an: 5/5 stars. The guid Waldner is a really experienced guy. I really enjoy spending time with him in Xi’an. I wish there were more guides like him. - A guid in Zhangjiajie: 4.5/5 stars. The guid Joy a really good and chill person. We also enjoyed spending time with her in Zhangjiajie. This place didn’t require a lot of historical introductions and I guess the guid is a perfect fit for this place. She is really active person. - A guide in Shanghai: 4/5 stars. The guide Maria in Shanghai is quite interesting guide, but works sometimes without interaction with a group. When she explains something, there is a feeling she doesn’t really care if a group listens or not. - A guide in Beijing 2.5/5 stars. A guide Linda from Beijing also has enough knowledge about attractions in Beijing and good restaurants, but I have to say she should work on her English. Sometimes it was hard to catch what she was saying and also the speech contained a lot of repetitive words such as “you know”, “yeah yeah yeah”, “yes yes yes”. They were included quite a lot of time in her speeches — it was difficult to follow. Once she took our bags without a lot of explanations and went to other queue and told us to stay in different queue. We managed to finish the line before her and were quite stressful because of this “not making any sense” decision with a different queue. Transfers were organised really good. - Hotels: 5/5 stars. All hotels were really great. Most of the breakfasts contained enough options. A hotel in Zhangjiajie had only few options, but for me it was good. - Visited places: 5/5 stars. All places were incredibly interesting to visit. All guides bought tickets for us and helped us to go trough the security checks. - Food: 3/5 stars. They didn’t check in advance our food options. It turned out we had 3 vegetarians, 2 people who don’t eat red meat and 2 who eat everything. So, an agency didn’t ask it in advance and planned lunches without taking it into account. - The tour group consisted of 6 people. I hope it helped you to decided whether you want to go with this tour agency or not :)

5-Day Bhutan Tour

I really enjoyed the 5-day tour of Bhutan. Pema was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and Yeshi was our friendly driver who got me everywhere safely. Bhutan is very much as beautiful and unique as I expected. Isaac, who arranged the tour made it easy for me to arrange from Australia. The only reason it is not 5-star is that whilst the hotels were lovely, there was a feeling that as a solo traveller I was not given such regard as the bigger European and US tour groups who were staying longer (eg room allocation). I would suggest that tour companies specialising in the solo traveller maybe build on relationships with hotels they use to ensure solo people are regarded as favourably as large groups. But overall this was a good experience and although it was a 5 day tour in essence it is only 4 days as the flight on the 5th day is at 7am.

Trusted tour Agent

We started planning our China trip quite late and didn’t expect Asia Odyssey Travel to arrange it and got everything in place in less than a week. Kudos to Allan whom planned the whole trip based on our requests! As Beijing was snowing heavily prior to our trip, one of our domestic flight was cancelled due to the weather. Very fun and comfortable tour

We had Olivia for our tour guide, she was wonderful and had vast amount of knowledge about the locations and history of China. She was also very understanding and flexible, which result in a very personalised tour. We were able to visit all the locations we wanted to. Best Bhutan trip ever!

Just enjoyed the best guided tour of Bhutan and Laos! Our travel consultant, Tony Yin, thoughtfully prepared a fantastic and seamless itinerary that included the usual highlights and provided awesome guides, amazing hotels and fantastic meals. I’ve wanted to visit Bhutan for several years to climb to Tigers Nest and it did not disappoint. We managed to visit while the mountainsides were covered in extravagant wild rhododendron flowers. Breathtakingly beautiful! We visited Paro, Thimpu and Punakha and all the sites there. I highly recommend Tony Yin and Asia Odessy for organizing a tour to these countries!

Incredible India, Bhutan and Nepal trip

Absolutely amazing three week trip to India, Bhutan and Nepal. Thank you so much Rita for all your help and support, not only in planning the trip but especially in making sure everything was going according to plan while I was away. A small issue with my Bhutan visa which was completely my own fault due to changing my passport last minute was dealt with so smoothly and efficiently that I was so glad I decided to go through Asia Odyssey in planning my trip. had a wonderful experience with asia odyssey. rita, the contact person for the arrangement, was very responsive, flexible, and insightful. although i only decided to do bhutan trip one week in advance, everything was arranged beatifully in the end, including of course the visa. in the meantime, sonam, my guide during my 7-day trip in bhutan was amazing too! not only very knowledgeable about bhutan’s culture and history, he’s also has an indepth knowledge on buddhism, which in the end made the trip a very insightful one. in a hindsight, i wish they suggest a rather harder hiking/trekking in the itinerary, since i found all the hikings that i’ve done were quite easy. hahaha.

Incredible Customer Service and Communication

I must give a massive thanks to Steven who was an incredible travel agent. His communication was top tier and he was incredibly quick to reply. He made me a great personalised itinerary and never complained when I asked for changes of which there were multiple. Despite all his hard work I ended up with an unexpected extra charge from another company so I was unable to go forward with my trip, nonetheless Steven was incredibly understanding of this circumstance. Lovely stay

Asia Odyssey Travel has helped a lot in arranging the tour destinations and helping us to make reservations for certain restaurants. Chia is really helpful and she’s able to provide good recommendations for meals, especially for my family as I’m travelling with young children and elderly. I had a really great experience with Odyssey from the start of requesting the quote , the response , and the efficient service that Hannah has provided. She even go above and beyond on the questions that I have as this was our family first time to China. She is very patience, great service and attitude. I'm a Singaporean traveller who booked a private solo tour. I chanced upon AOT after I googled and decided to travel last min. Good package with great guides

Thanks to AOT to make wonderful program which helps travelers to experience China with variety within limited period of time. All guides were excellent and had a good knowledge and willing to help beyond their duty hours whenever we need it. Ethan, Liulola, Jeremy and Hannah were good in his job and helped us whenever we need him. All were more hardworking and tried to utilize their knowledge to explain us every possible details. I say All guides were above 4.9 of 5 Food arrangements were ok 4/5 Transportation was good 5/5 Punctuality 5/5 Stay 5/5 (Considerate of Package) In short It was memorable experience and thanks for you arranging. There are some suggestions also- I would like to keep E bike tour at Yangzhou (Can be included in package), as normal bike riding may be difficult for some kind of people and may not be feasible due to Health considerations. Also, Shanghai is being wonerful city, siteseeing experinece was limited and had to explore on my own, i woukd like to suggest inclusion of some additional locations in Shanghai, to make it two days or atleast one and half day of sightseeing. Overall, I will give you 4.5/5 for overall travel company experience and will definitely look Forword for some great options.

I Left My Heart In Zhangjiajie ❤️

I'm a Singaporean traveller. Chanced upon them while I googled and booked a last min private solo tour with AOT to Shanghai, Zhangjiajie and Chongqing. I was served by AOT staff Rita who was very patient in answering all my questions and last min requests and provided me with knowledgeable advice on my trip. Just like any holiday trip, there were some minor hiccups but still didn't affect or hinder my experience. I would like to thank all tour guides and drivers whom have been instrumental in making my trip a very memorable one. Special mention to my tour guide in Zhangjiajie Ms Rita Wang and 杨师傅，whom both served their client with their sincerest hearts and looking into the smallest details to ensure I get the best experience in Zhangjiajie. Wonderful Kunming!

It a good and smooth experience when I deal with Miss Jessica. She are really helpful through our journey to Kunming. When me and my family touched down at airport, the tour guide and drivers are really welcoming which we feel warm in our heart. A very enjoyable trip covering nearly all of Taiwan

A very enjoyable trip covering nearly all of Taiwan, with extremely helpful and informative Ms. Chia. The hotels were better than I expected though food at times was a bit of a problem for me because I'm not used to walking in the street eating my meal, which is what the locals often do. Our driver Mr Gau, though also very pleasant and helpful, sometimes made me nervous because he tended to get engrossed in conversations and didn't always pay as much attention to traffic conditions as he should.

10 Days Guizhou Experience

It was a remarkable experience visiting Guizhou with so much adventures , fun and photo taking beautiful live scenery. Even tho there were so much walking , we were so excited and impressed and forgotten aching legs because with our tour guide, Howard, he made our journey so safe and memorable with his commitment and responsibilities of everyone. We have confidence with him being our leader being so patience and efficient overall. The driver, Yueh sifu was a super driver and safe knowing our life's was in his hand even on high winding mountains. Excellent Bhutan private tour service!

Excellent private tour service for Bhutan! Our guide, Ugyen, was extremely informed, patient, flexible, and full of useful information for our time in Bhutan. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had an excellent experience! I believe it is technically possible to travel without a tour guide through Bhutan as of 2023-4; however, I would not recommend it, due to lack of tourist infrastructure for solo travelers and an overall lower quality traveling experience. The itinerary planned by AOT flowed very well, and organizing everything pre-trip with Vincent was a breeze. We would highly recommend! Wouldn't have done it any other way.

The trip took place 02.04.2024–12.04.2024. Shanghai →(plane) Zhangjiajie → (plane) Xi’an → (bullet train) Beijing. I had a mixed experience with this company. From one hand we visited a lot of interesting places, from the other - a company made a lot of mistakes during our trip. I rate this company for 2/5 to bring your attention to some moments from our trip which were described in more details on the medium.com. Google it by "China Tour with Asia Odyssey Travel: Rookie Mistakes by Experienced Company" - I can't add a link here due to the policy of the platform. Some short info with ratings: - Contact person: 2/5 stars. A contact person Allan was quite communicative before paying the deposit and changed a lot to the worse side afterward. His response time by email increased dramatically. He didn’t provide enough transparency through the whole trip: no official hotels confirmation, no guides’ contacts in advance (we had to ask it ourselves), no info in advance about the situation with VPN, useful apps (such as AliPay, WeChat etc), simcards etc. - A guid in Xi'an: 5/5 stars. The guid Waldner is a really experienced guy. I really enjoy spending time with him in Xi’an. I wish there were more guides like him. - A guid in Zhangjiajie: 4.5/5 stars. The guid Joy a really good and chill person. We also enjoyed spending time with her in Zhangjiajie. This place didn’t require a lot of historical introductions and I guess the guid is a perfect fit for this place. She is really active person. - A guide in Shanghai: 4/5 stars. The guide Maria in Shanghai is quite interesting guide, but works sometimes without interaction with a group. When she explains something, there is a feeling she doesn’t really care if a group listens or not. - A guide in Beijing 2.5/5 stars. A guide Linda from Beijing also has enough knowledge about attractions in Beijing and good restaurants, but I have to say she should work on her English. Sometimes it was hard to catch what she was saying and also the speech contained a lot of repetitive words such as “you know”, “yeah yeah yeah”, “yes yes yes”. They were included quite a lot of time in her speeches — it was difficult to follow. Once she took our bags without a lot of explanations and went to other queue and told us to stay in different queue. We managed to finish the line before her and were quite stressful because of this “not making any sense” decision with a different queue. Transfers were organised really good. - Hotels: 5/5 stars. All hotels were really great. Most of the breakfasts contained enough options. A hotel in Zhangjiajie had only few options, but for me it was good. - Visited places: 5/5 stars. All places were incredibly interesting to visit. All guides bought tickets for us and helped us to go trough the security checks. - Food: 3/5 stars. They didn’t check in advance our food options. It turned out we had 3 vegetarians, 2 people who don’t eat red meat and 2 who eat everything. So, an agency didn’t ask it in advance and planned lunches without taking it into account. - The tour group consisted of 6 people. I hope it helped you to decided whether you want to go with this tour agency or not :)

5-Day Bhutan Tour

I really enjoyed the 5-day tour of Bhutan. Pema was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and Yeshi was our friendly driver who got me everywhere safely. Bhutan is very much as beautiful and unique as I expected. Isaac, who arranged the tour made it easy for me to arrange from Australia. The only reason it is not 5-star is that whilst the hotels were lovely, there was a feeling that as a solo traveller I was not given such regard as the bigger European and US tour groups who were staying longer (eg room allocation). I would suggest that tour companies specialising in the solo traveller maybe build on relationships with hotels they use to ensure solo people are regarded as favourably as large groups. But overall this was a good experience and although it was a 5 day tour in essence it is only 4 days as the flight on the 5th day is at 7am.

We started planning our China trip quite late and didn’t expect Asia Odyssey Travel to arrange it and got everything in place in less than a week. Xi Visits Europe, Seeking Strategic Opportunity

The Chinese leader has carefully chosen three countries — France, Serbia and Hungary — that to varying degrees embrace Beijing’s push for a new global order.

On his first visit to Europe in five years, the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, appears intent on seizing opportunities to loosen the continent’s bonds with the United States and forge a world freed of American dominance.

The Chinese leader has chosen three countries to visit — France, Serbia and Hungary — that all, to a greater or lesser degree, look askance at America’s postwar ordering of the world, see China as a necessary counterweight and are eager to bolster economic ties.

At a time of tensions with much of Europe — over China’s “no limits” embrace of Russia despite the war in Ukraine, its surveillance state and its apparent espionage activities that led to the recent arrest in Germany of four people — Mr. Xi, who arrived in France on Sunday, wants to demonstrate China’s growing influence on the continent and pursue a pragmatic rapprochement.

For Europe, the visit will test its delicate balancing act between China and the United States and will no doubt be seen in Washington as a none-too-subtle effort by Mr. Xi to divide Western allies. Chinese-French relations “have established a model for the international community of peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation between countries with different social systems,” Mr. Xi said in a statement issued soon after he arrived in Paris.

He has timed his arrival at his second stop, Serbia, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the deadly NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade during the Kosovo war. That mistaken strike on May 7, 1999, for which the White House apologized, killed three Chinese journalists and ignited furious protests around the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.

“For Xi, being in Belgrade is a very economical way to ask if the United States is really serious about international law,” said Janka Oertel, the director of the Asia program at the European Council on Foreign Relations in Berlin, “and to say, how about NATO overreach as a problem for other countries?”

The Chinese government has continued to commemorate the Belgrade bombing, using it as an occasion to denounce what it sees as Western hypocrisy and bullying.

“The United States always views itself as the leader — or hegemon — of the world, so China is a competitor or adversary that is challenging its hegemony,” said Tu Xinquan, the dean of a trade institute at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. “The European Union does not have a hegemonic mind-set.”

The official doctrine of the 27-member European Union defines China as “a partner for cooperation, an economic competitor and a systemic rival.” If that seems a mouthful, and a perhaps contradictory one, it is because the continent is torn between how to balance economic opportunity in China with national security risk, cybersecurity risk and economic risk to various industries.

In March, China’s foreign minister, Wang Yi, told reporters that Europe’s formula was unworkable. “It’s like driving to a crossing and finding the red, yellow and green lights all on at the same time,” he said. “How can one drive on?”

Now, Mr. Xi would like to ease the lights toward green.

To that end, Mr. Xi’s first and most important stop will be in France, whose president, Emmanuel Macron, has often made the Gaullist point that Europe “must never be a vassal of the United States,” as he did last month at a speech at the Sorbonne . The French leader insists that the survival of the European Union depends on “strategic autonomy” and developing the military resilience to become a “Europe power.” He rejects the notion of “equidistance” between China and the United States — France is one of America’s oldest allies — but wants to keep his options open.

All of this is music to Mr. Xi’s ears.

“Macron is trying to bring a third way in the current global chaos,” said Philippe Le Corre, a prominent French expert on relations with China. “He is trying to walk a fine line between the two main superpowers.”

Just over a year ago, Mr. Macron was lavishly entertained during a visit to China that ended with a Sino-French declaration of a “global strategic partnership.” The French leader echoed the Chinese lexicon of a “multipolar” world, freed of “blocs” and the “Cold War mentality.”

Now, in anticipation of Mr. Xi’s visit, China has praised France as a great power and expressed hopes that their ties “will always be at the forefront of China’s relations with Western countries,” in the words of Lu Shaye , China’s ambassador to France, in People’s Daily.

Mr. Macron, who recently warned that “our Europe is mortal” and will be saved only if it can become “sovereign,” will host a state dinner for Mr. Xi on Monday in Paris before, in a personal touch, ushering him to a favorite childhood haunt in the Pyrenees.

The chemistry between the two men appears to lie essentially in a shared view that the postwar order is moribund and must be replaced by a new architecture that takes account of shifting power. That Mr. Xi is almost certainly the most repressive and authoritarian leader in recent Chinese history, and that China’s military threats to Taiwan have intensified, has not come between the two leaders.

In the past six months, Mr. Macron has visited both India and Brazil in a push to place France at a fulcrum between the BRICS group of developing countries, which includes China, and Western powers. At a time of growing tension between the “Global South” and Western powers, he sees France as a bridge.

From France, Mr. Xi will move on to the warm embrace of Serbia, where China is the second largest trading partner, and Hungary, where its prime minister, Viktor Orban, has backed enormous Chinese investment and used his country’s position as a European Union member to dilute criticism of China. Both countries bridle at American power.

Beyond these two friends of China, there are, however, serious European differences with Beijing, whose economy was roughly the same size, measured in dollars, as the European Union’s when Mr. Xi last visited in 2019. China’s economy is now some 15 percent bigger.

Last fall, the European Union opened an investigation into whether electric vehicles made in China benefited from unfair subsidies, with a decision expected by this summer. That has caused tensions with Beijing and with Germany, whose presence in the Chinese auto market dwarfs that of other European countries. China accounts for at least half of Volkswagen’s annual profits.

German manufacturers, with plants in China, fear that any imposition of European tariffs could affect its own exports from China, as well as cause tit-for-tat retaliation.

The European Union Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, will join the talks in Paris with Mr. Xi. Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany, whose relations with Mr. Macron have been strained, dined with the French president in Paris this past week. All of this is clearly part of an attempt to forge a united European front.

That, however, is always elusive.

Anger toward Russia in Europe runs highest in frontline states with Russia, like Poland and the Baltic States. They are perhaps the most fiercely attached to the alliance with the United States that Mr. Macron wants to offset by building a sovereign Europe. They are also the most wary of China, which has never condemned Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Mr. Macron, like Mr. Scholz during a visit to China last month, believes that Chinese leverage in bringing an end to the war in Ukraine is critical. Only Beijing, in the French analysis, can bring real pressure to bear on President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, who will be sworn in for a fifth term during Mr. Xi’s European visit.

The issue, as it was last year during Mr. Macron’s visit to Beijing, is that China has shown little or no inclination to do so. Indeed, Mr. Xi is scheduled to host Mr. Putin in China later this month.

“It’s hard to imagine another discussion on Ukraine,” François Godement, a special adviser and resident senior fellow at the Institut Montaigne in Paris, said of the talks between Mr. Macron and Mr. Xi. “Those dice have been rolled.”

Still, there is little doubt that Mr. Macron will try again to enlist Mr. Xi’s support ahead of a Ukraine peace conference in Switzerland in mid-June.

At a deeper level, Mr. Macron appears certain to try to use Mr. Xi’s visit to advance an agenda that guarantees Europe’s relevance in the coming decades. He is wary of a United States that may re-elect former President Donald J. Trump in November, with unpredictable consequences.

Mr. Wang, the Chinese foreign minister, has said , “As long as China and Europe join hands, bloc confrontation will not occur, the world will not fall apart, and a new Cold War will not take place.”

For all of the fundamental differences in governance between China’s one-party state and Western liberal democracy, the leaders of the three European countries Mr. Xi has chosen to visit appear to embrace that Chinese statement.
