The Tour ’23 will showcase custom looks by four designers: Colombia’s Melissa Valdés Duque, Japan-based Jenny Fax, London-based Supriya Lele and Nigeria-bred Bubu Ogisi.

The new special will support parent company VS&Co’s Tour Impact Fund , which will partner with organizations that work to advance gender equality and uplift underserved and marginalized voices in the communities of the VS20. Priyanka Chopra-Jonas will serve as an ambassador, mentor and advocate for the fund, which helps to create opportunities for emerging women artists and provide them with necessary resources for economic growth and empowerment.

Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ’23 will be available starting Monday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on Prime Video , and the only way to watch is with an Amazon Prime membership or a subscription to the company’s standalone streaming service.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is making a comeback—and expect it to be bigger, better, and more inclusive than ever.

Today, the lingerie company announced the Victoria's Secret World Tour, a reimagining of their annual iconic fashion show that last aired in 2018. The live event, which will be streamed and made into a feature-length documentary, plans to showcase the talents of 20 designers from across the globe alongside custom Victoria's Secret creations.

"This film is the ultimate expression of the Victoria’s Secret brand transformation," Raúl Martinez, the company's EVP and head creative director, said in a press release shared with BAZAAR . "It will be driven by fashion, glamour and entertainment with a nod to beloved iconography from the past but in a bold, redefined way. We are so honored to offer our platform and have it explored through the lens and artistry of global creatives who celebrate the individuality of women’s stories and perspectives."

The Fashion Show was canceled in 2019 following scrutiny over various scandals (including former CEO Leslie Wexner's connection to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein) as well as the lack of diversity on its runways. Now, the up and coming spectacle is just the company's latest rebrand initiative as it attempts to cement Victoria's Secret reputation as one that empowers and uplifts consumers of all shapes, colors, and sizes. But, will viewers tune in?

Ahead, everything to know about the Victoria's Secret World Tour.

The film will drop in September.

The Victoria's Secret World Tour documentary will reportedly premiere this September. The press release notes that the show "will be streamed internationally and culminate in a live fashion event this fall."

Designers, artists, dancers, and musicians from across the world will showcase their own collections on the runway.

The documentary will follow the behind-the-scenes process of 20 global creatives from the cities of Bogotá, Lagos, London, and Tokyo (dubbed the VS20) as they create four fashion collections. These four collections will be staged on the runway alongside the brand's custom designs.

From Bogotá are fashion designer Melissa Valdes, filmmaker Cristina Sánchez Salamanca, painter Lorena Torres, choreographer Piscis, and musician Goyo. Representing Lagos are fashion designer Bubu Ogisi, filmmaker Korty, artist Eloghosa Osunde, artist Ashley Okoli, and musician and photographer Wavy the Creator. The London creatives include designer Supriya Lele, filmmaker Margot Bowman, artist and writer Ebun Sodipo, lingerie designer Michaela Stark, and artist Phoebe Collings. Finally, the Tokyo VS20 members are comprised of designer Jenny Fax, filmmaker Umi Ishihara, painter Kaito Itsuki, dancer Aoi Yamada, and artist Kom-I.

Will the original "angels" make a comeback?

It's unclear for now if supermodels and former Victoria's Secret runway mainstays such as Bella and Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and more would make cameos for the new documentary and live spectacle. Considering the brand has gone in a new direction as of late, it's safe to say the new "collective" will feature mostly new faces.

Victoria’s Secret is giving customers an inside look at its upcoming fashion show.

The retailer is debuting an immersive “The Tour Experience” on the top floor of its New York City flagship later this month in conjunction with its Victoria’s Secret World Tour fashion show, which will debut on Prime Video on Sept. 26. 

The in-store experience was created as an extension of the Victoria’s Secret World Tour, which is a reimagination of the retailer’s long-running fashion show.

The in-store experience will feature all looks presented during the Victoria’s Secret World Tour show, which are created by four designers from Lagos; Tokyo; Bogotà, Colombia; and London. The designers also looked to the Victoria’s Secret archives to reimagine some of the best-known Angel wings that have been presented at past fashion shows. These creations will be on display at the store’s flagship.

“The Tour Experience” will include a Champagne bar with signature cocktails and mocktails that were inspired by Victoria’s Secret fragrances. Victoria’s Secret enlisted chef Sumaiya Bangee to create custom desserts for the Champagne bar, which also take inspiration from Victoria’s Secret well-known motifs and colors. 

“It’s a sensorial experience that we’re excited to just share with the customer,” Gilkey said. “It’s a pleasure to be able to do that for the brand and just for the customer. We’re a new Victoria’s Secret and that’s what we’re celebrating. The Tour is the ultimate expression of our brand transformation.”

Cher Will Headline Victoria's Secret Fashion Show as Musical Guest, Leading All-Women Lineup of Performers

And that means having one of the biggest stars in the world headline as musical guest. Who better to call on than one of the icons of pop?

Yes, Cher will perform at the fashion show in October.

"It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself—@Cher! We’re beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024. But she won’t be alone...stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup. #VSFashionShow," the brand wrote on Instagram on Sept. 17.

In an all-women lineup with more names to be announced, Cher will take the stage on Oct. 15 when the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returns for the first time since 2018. Taking place in Brooklyn, N.Y., the show will feature some of the brand's most familiar faces on the runway, including Gigi Hadid , Tyra Banks , Paloma Elsesser and more.

Last year, Victoria's Secret brought the fashion show back in a different form by hosting The Tour . The brand held a show of sorts as a streamed fashion show with models including Adriana Lima, Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber, and it was filmed all over the world. However, while the event was a spectacle, brand devotees were left wanting the runway show (with wings!) of years past.

In 2019, Victoria’s Secret announced the  annual show’s cancellation . The brand was facing criticism for its lack of inclusivity on the runway and many fans hoped the announcement this year signaled that a rebrand was in the works.

In a statement shared with people earlier this year, a Victoria’s Secret brand representative hinted that the 2024 show would be more inclusive than past years. “The 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will deliver precisely what our customers have been asking for — the glamour, runway, fashion, fun, wings, entertainment — all through a powerful, modern lens reflecting who we are today,” the rep shared. “We're thrilled to share a women-led articulation of this iconic property later this year!”

As announced Tuesday (Sept. 17), Cher will headline the brand’s first big runway showcase in six years — and she’ll be leading a lineup of all-women artists for the first time ever.

Scheduled for Oct. 15 in Brooklyn, New York, the 2024 fashion show marks a major comeback for Victoria’s Secret. The event used to be an annual prime-time TV spectacular featuring the world’s most recognizable models — Heidi Klum, Karlie Kloss and Gisele Bündchen, to name a few of the show’s “Angels” — walking the runway in lingerie and avant-garde angel wings.

Major musicians were also frequently tapped to provide a live soundtrack for the fashion show, performing on stage as the models walked. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and more have all taken the gig at different points.

The last show of this kind, however, was in 2018, after which Victoria’s Secret canceled the program amid growing backlash to the brand’s lack of inclusivity and perpetuation of unrealistic beauty standards. In 2019, parent company L Brands stated its desire to “evolve the marketing of Victoria’s Secret” in the show’s absence.

Four years later, it made a mini-return of sorts with VS testing out a new approach: The Tour , a Prime Video special compiling footage of A-listers Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber modeling the company’s apparel in cities all over the world. It also featured a performance from Doja Cat, then fresh off the release of her album Scarlet .

“We’ve read the comments and heard you,” the company wrote on Instagram in May. “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is ✨ BACK ✨ and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love—the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more!”

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is officially making its return next month after a six-year hiatus with an iconic headliner: Cher .

Back in May, Victoria’s Secret confirmed that its signature fashion show was set to return to the runway. “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today,” the company announced at the time. “Plus everything you know and love – the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment and more! Stay tuned… it only gets more iconic from here.”

The last time the brand hosted the event in its usual television form was in 2018. However, Victoria’s Secret broadcasted its most recent fashion show in the form of a documentary, titled Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ‘23 , on Prime Video in September of last year.

On September 17, the brand officially revealed that Cher will be heading the event, which is set for October 15. Victoria’s Secret has also hinted that more performers are going to be announced as the date gets closer.

Here’s everything we know about the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, from who’s walking the runway to where the fashion extravaganza will be held.

Who’s performing at the show?

Victoria’s Secret took to Instagram on September 17 to share a video of Cher, revealing that she’ll be performing live on the runway at the show. “It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself – @Cher! We’re beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing,” the company wrote in the caption.

Although it hasn’t been revealed who else is performing, Victoria’s Secret hinted that more singers – specifically women – will be making an appearance.

“[Cher] won’t be alone... stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup,” the caption concluded.

Which models are walking the runway?

Following the announcement of the fashion show’s return after six years, Victoria’s Secret has begun to reveal which models will be on the runway on October 15. Some of the models – referred to as the cast of the show – include Gigi Hadid, Tyra Banks, Paloma Elsesser, Candice Swanepoel, Taylor Hill, Mayowa Nicholas, Imaan Hammam, and Devyn Garcia.

When is the event and how can I watch?

The 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will be taking place on October 15 at the brand’s flagship store in New York City. The company has continued to describe the event as a “night of glamour, music, and of course, fashion.”

While it’s unclear whether the event will be broadcasted live on TV or streaming, Victoria’s Secret did do a Sweepstakes earlier this month, in which which people could enter for a chance to win a fashion show watch party kit . The kit included a pair of the brand’s PJs and themed game cards, as the company urged people to host their own fashion show watch parties on October 15.

How has the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show sparked controversy?

Over the years, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been known for turning lingerie into works of art. However, the event has also been deemed controversial. In fact, the decision to pre-record and stream last year’s show came after Victoria’s Secret had canceled its fashion show in 2019.

The cancellation of the fashion show was likely due to declining viewership. The 2018 Victoria’s Secret fashion show only drew 3.3m viewers , down from 9.7m viewers in 2013.

In November 2018, Ed Razek – the ex-chief marketing officer of L Brands, the former parent company of Victoria’s Secret – made controversial comments regarding the lack of transgender models in the fashion show. Speaking to Vogue , Razek said he doesn’t think transgender models should be part of the show because “the show is a fantasy”.

“It’s a 42-entertainment special. That’s what it is,” he said. “It is the only one of its kind in the world, and any other fashion brand in the world would take it in a minute, including the competitors that are carping at us. And they carp at us because we’re the leader.”

Robyn Lawley, the first plus-size model to face the cover of Sports Illustrated , urged people to boycott the fashion show following his comments. She started an online petition calling for Victoria’s Secret to be more inclusive, arguing that the lingerie brand has “dominated the space for almost 20 years by telling women there is only one kind of body beautiful.”

“Until Victoria’s Secret commits to representing ALL women on stage, I am calling for a complete boycott of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” she wrote on social media. “It’s time Victoria’s Secret recognized the buying power and influence of women of ALL ages, shapes, sizes, and ethnicities.”

There have also been numerous controversies surrounding certain themes and looks from past shows, some of which have been described as cultural appropriation. A Native American headdress sparked outrage during the 2012 fashion show, while a Chinese-inspired theme, called “Road Ahead,” was deemed incredibly offensive in 2016.

Janie Schaffer, Victoria Secret’s chief design and creative officer, and Sarah Sylvester, executive vice president of marketing, expressed how the brand has “really been transforming hugely” over the last three years as they discussed what fans can expect from this year’s fashion show.

“This is really a celebration of everything we’ve been doing. Believe me, we have got such super fans out there that there is an element where people are saying, ‘You bring it back exactly as it was before. Bring back exactly the same models, and don’t change anything!” Schaffer said in a joint interview with Women’s Wear Daily in July.

The show first started in 1995 and lasted until 2018, when it was canceled due to low TV ratings and criticism from the public after the then-chief marketing officer Ed Razek suggested transgender models shouldn’t be a part of the event, per BBC .

The 78-year-old pop music diva was announced on Tuesday as the headliner for the lingerie brand’s signature fashion show, set for Oct. 15 in Brooklyn .

“We’re beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024 ,” the company continued. “But she won’t be alone…stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup.”

Supermodels Tyra Banks , Gigi Hadid, Candice Swanepoel and Paloma Elsesser are among some of the brand’s most familiar faces that are reportedly confirmed to hit the runway, too.

While it’s unclear if the upcoming show will be broadcast live on TV or available for streaming, as it has been in previous years, the company did host a sweepstakes last week for chance to win a fashion show watch party kit .

Victoria’s Secret announced on social media in May that the fashion show would return after a six-year hiatus . After facing criticism for its lack of inclusivity on the runway amid the #MeToo movement and waning sales, the brand pulled the plug on the show in 2019.

The annual event began in 1995 and had been broadcast on network TV since 2001.

Following the three-part 2022 Hulu documentary “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons,” the company released the feature-length film “ Victoria’s Secret World Tour,” as part of a revamping effort last year.

On Aug. 14, Victoria’s Secret announced that it hired Hillary Super , the former CEO of Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty , to take over the reins of the company.
