Planning a vacation or trip is undoubtedly stressful. You're bombarded with seemingly endless options for flights, lodging, and things to do, and it can be difficult to figure out where to start. Many travel aggregators strive to present you with the best deals, but they all end up looking very similar to each other.

These similarities make it easy to know what to do and expect when you first visit a site. Typically, you enter your destinations, dates, and number of travelers. After you click search, you can further filter based on price range, airlines, and departure times for flights; amenities, hotel stars, and location for hotels; and type of car and rental car company for cars.

So what makes one site better than another?

It all depends on your priorities and preferences. Everyone travels and plans for that travel differently. Here are seven travel sites and the factors you should consider when choosing a site.

Booking.com

super travel tripadvisor

Booking.com is a huge bank of information, offering more than 1 million properties in 117,000 destinations in 225 countries and territories. Wherever you'd like to go, you'll find it through this site. It offers booking for flights,  hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars.  Clicking  restaurants will take you to OpenTable.

Highlights:

I found their desktop homepage to be cluttered and a lot to look at compared to the homepages of other sites, but their app experience was noticeably simpler, which makes sense as travelers increasingly turn mobile.

One feature on the homepage that stood out to me (shown above) was the "Are you traveling for work?" option. Clicking "Yes" will present popular business travel options like WiFi and breakfast.

Another feature was its flexible date suggestions if your chosen destination is a popular choice and accommodations are more than 50% reserved during your selected dates.

Best for:

  • Wide variety of options, including hostels, homestays, and bed and breakfasts
  • Easy access to your plans and searches by syncing your account across your devices
  • Getting the best deals with their Price Match offer
  • Destination travel guides and articles

Lacking or not the best for:

  • Bundling hotel, flight, and car packages

super travel tripadvisor

Expedia offers booking for  flights, hotels, vacation rentals, rental cars, cruises, and things to do.

You can bundle flight, hotel, and car deals so you don't have to go through the headache of looking separately and trying to coordinate all the deals.

The "My Trips" section is helpful for managing your entire itinerary in one place, so you don't have to search through endless emails and accounts to figure out your vacation plan.

If you sign up as a member, you can earn Expedia+ points to use toward future trips. Use the mobile app to earn 2x Expedia+ points.

Like Booking.com, Expedia also offers suggestions for date shifts, date extensions, and route changes to get you to the cheapest deal.

  • Hotel, flight, and car bundles
  • Coordinating your whole vacation itinerary
  • Reward points system
  • Single bookings. The site is best utilized for its bundle packaging.

Book a trip with Expedia

Tripadvisor.

super travel tripadvisor

TripAdvisor offers booking for flights,  hotels, vacation rentals, restaurants, and things to do.

It's well-known for its user-generated reviews, so as you're booking, you get the added benefit of reading reviews all in the same place. While I'm partial to Yelp for food recommendations and believe it to be better for US destinations, TripAdvisor is much more widely used in the international community.

TripAdvisor is the most experience-driven travel site. You are not just booking somewhere to live — you're signing up to experience and explore a destination.

  • Detailed filtering (e.g. style for hotels and distinctive features for vacation rentals)
  • Comparing deals across aggregators
  • Strong user-generated review community
  • Bundling hotel, flight, and car packages

super travel tripadvisor

CheapOair offers booking for  flights, hotels, and rental cars.  Clicking on its cruises  tab takes you to another site, Cheap Cruises.

The "Travel by Interest" section offers special deals for senior , military , student , and last minute travel . The military and student discounts emphasize keeping costs low, while the senior discount focuses on senior friendly destinations at an affordable price.

Whether you're coordinating a reunion, wedding, or corporate event, a Group Travel Request is a good option. You can work with an agent on your travel needs.

  • Specific travelers like senior citizens, military, students, and large groups
  • Higher than usual service fees (e.g. $32 per night per room for hotel bookings)

Book a trip with CheapOair

super travel tripadvisor

Hotwire offers booking for  flights, hotels, and rental cars.

Hotwire gives you all the filters and options you need but maintains the balance of not giving you too much. It keeps its sections simple, so you don't need to worry about something you may be missing out on.

Thanks to partnerships with other travel sites like Hotels.com and Expedia, Hotwire can offer extremely low prices. There is also a free 24-hour cancellation policy on most flights.

  • Focused searchers who do not want to be distracted or overwhelmed by too many options, things to do, and city guides. Destination guides and inspiration can be found on a separate blog page.
  • Travelers on a budget
  • Travelers with very specific preferences like hotel brand or car brand

Book a trip with Hotwire

Travelocity.

super travel tripadvisor

Travelocity offers booking for  flights, hotels, vacation rentals, rental cars, cruises and things to do.  And no, you're not seeing double. Expedia owns Travelocity, which may explain why the two homepages look almost exactly the same.

From what we can tell, the most noticeable difference is Travelocity's Roaming Gnome, which represents the inspiration and wanderlust of traveling. The "Inspiration" section contains interesting articles like "Best Foodie Finds in Airports Around the World" and themes like "Luxury" or "Romantic." Expedia's travel blog, on the other hand, is relegated to an easy-to-miss link near the bottom of the page.

  • All the benefits of Expedia but with a more exploratory inspiration angle
  •  Single bookings. The site is best utilized for its bundle packaging.

Book a trip with Travelocity

super travel tripadvisor

Priceline offers booking for  flights, hotels, rental cars, and cruises.

The " Express Deals " option rewards flexible travelers with up to 60% savings on hotels. The site will give you the location and star rating, but not the name of the hotel. You can still choose the bed type for many of the options.

Another way to save is the Name Your Own Price feature where you input the location, star rating, and price bid for a hotel.

For car rentals, you can also Name Your Own Price and bid for a car. If you don't have big preferences on the car brand, you'll be able to find a car for a price less than the search listings give you. For example, I was able to get an economy car with unlimited mileage for $30 a day, while the general search yielded cars that were all at least $37 a day.

The cruise section is clear and easy to navigate. The search option is similar to searching for flights, with more dropdown selections than other sites. This feature is ideal for travelers who know exactly what they want for their cruise experience, and are not merely shopping around.

  • Travelers with low hotel and car brand loyalty who want to find a great deal
  • Having a more focused cruise search process
  • Travel inspiration or destination guides
  • Low risk takers who like to know exactly what they're getting

We have been to Portugal golfing with Supertravel…

We have been to Portugal golfing with Supertravel for more than 10yrs. Each trip has been flawless I cannot recommend them enough. They carefully choose the courses and monitor their condition and suitability annually.

Fabulous trip

Second time using Supertravelgolf after a recommendation from a friend. Just back from a fabulous five days golfing in Spain. Everything ran like clockwork thanks to Mark. I would recommend this company and will definitely be using again

Excellent Company

We have used Supertravel for many years now and they always provide a first class service. Our thanks to Lee for the attention to detail. We are just back from another fabulous trip to Mauritius. Hotels and golf were excellent again. All transport arrangements were first class, on time and pleasant drivers.

Date of experience : 15 March 2024

First proper golf holiday

I used to be a travel agent so rather picky! After a recommendation that a friend's husband had used them for years for golf holidays I booked a two week trip to Thailand (Phuket area). Supertravel were exceptional in their finding of a super hotel and arranged golf on five different courses spaced out when we wanted the rounds and with luxury transport to and from the courses with carts and caddies included - and decent tee times. We were on our own for tee off but had to join in with other couples if we caught them up. They also made excellent seat reservations on the planes. Would thoroughly recommend

Abu Dahbi golf trip

This was our first time using Supertravel for a golf trip after a friend recommended it and we'll be using them again in the future. Their staff were exceptional in all aspects of our booking, keeping us informed, offering different travel plans etc. Needless to say our trip went very smoothly. We had an excellent hotel, played 3 different (all great) golf courses and came home smiling. Many thanks Supertravel!

This is the best Travel company we have…

This is the best Travel company we have experienced in our 55 years of travelling to the four ‘corners’ of the earth. At our ages we seem to encounter problems, many age related, not experienced by other travellers but the team at Supertravel have always solved/satisfied whatever problems have arisen. Thank you.

First golfing visit to Fuerteventura

First golfing visit to Fuerteventura - excellent all round. Edward, as ever, smoothed our progress and looked after us so well. Highly recommended.

Such a relaxing Madeiran Hotel

After a winter of stress our hotel in Madeira, Casa Velha Do Palheiro, expertly arranged by Supertravel was a wonderful antidote. Although not cheap, for a special 'push the boat out' experience it was excellent value for money.

We dealt with Edward, and we followed his recommendation for hotel (with golf) in Mauritius. We couldn't have been happier with his service or his choice. We liked our location so much that shortly after arriving we extended our stay by another week - which was again handled smoothly and quickly. Many Thanks.

Long Time Users of Supertravel

We have used Supertravel for many years and everything is arranged perfectly. We have dealt with Lee who is very helpful and knowledgeable. The agency Supertravel use in other countries are helpful, efficient and friendly.

Date of experience : 20 February 2024

Supertravel are quick, efficient and very helpful. They never disappoint.

We have used Lee Birkett of Supertravel for many years and he never fails to disappoint. He has great knowledge of the destinations that we are interested in, and can advise accordingly. He offers a very speedy and efficient service; and continues to ‘check-in’ to make sure that we are happy with everything. If Lee is away, his colleagues immediately step into the breach. I can thoroughly recommend Supertravel.

Mauritius Enjoyment

We recently returned from a 3 week golf trip to Mauritius. It was put together after recommendations from our regular Supertravel contact, Guy Brown. It involved staying at 3 different resorts with 16 rounds of golf and personal transport between resorts and the airport. As usual with Guy, everything worked perfectly, so we'll be talking to him again later in the year about another trip.

Our group have used Supertravel for many years of golf trips. Their golf specialist Guy Brown has always done a great job. Attention to detail cannot be faulted and in the rare instance where a problem has occurred he has intervened personally to sort it out. When the volcanic ash some years ago left 8 of us stuck in Portugal Guy went out of his way to assist us and got us home from a different airport in a couple of days.

Having been recommended to use…

Having been recommended to use Supertravel Golf, we have had many happy holidays since. They never let the customer down, know their business and produce packages that meet all our needs. Their communications have been superb and go beyond all expectations. Very highly recommended.

Quinta Da Marinha

This is the 4th holiday Mark has put together for our group of 8 and can’t fault the communication and advice he provided. We were met by a member of Supertravel staff (Petra) at Lisbon airport who was very helpful and provided guidance for us as our golf clubs had been left behind in Manchester. We stayed at the Onyria Hotel and played on the Quinta Da Marinha course. The hotel was modern, clean and the staff were efficient and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much to Supertravel for organising and would definitely recommend the hotel and course.

Vilamoura 2023

My group of 16 have once again experienced another great golfing trip with Supertravel Golf. This year was as good as it gets! No major problems during the whole trip, staying in the Vila Gale hotel (they need to refine their booking in system),playing 3 courses in Vilamoura, the Old Course, Victoria and Laguna all in great condition. All transfers on time and Guy's attention to detail is second to none and he has always made sure that we all had the best experience possible which over the last 12 years is just amazing with all the problems that have landed on his desk. Well done Guy & Supertravel Golf.

Date of experience : 05 October 2023

Superb three rounds in Costa Navarino

Mark and the Team at Supertravel put together a superb itinerary for three rounds of golf at Costa Navarino. We were upgraded at The W Hotel, the tee times were ideal and we managed to work three rounds of golf between leaving LHR on Thursday morning and arriving back on Sunday afternoon. All the arrangments went smoothly and the rooms/villas in the hotel were amazing. The three courses, Olympic, Hills and Bay are challenging but not unreasonable and have no carries. The Greeks were delightful and very helpful with clubs being transported from course to course overnight. It is one of the best of our 25+ years of weekend tours. Thank you to Mark and Edward once again.

A much delayed 65th golf trip was finally completed last week, without a hitch. The trip had been delayed by covid, and it’s knock on effects in adequate staffing at airports, plus change of location, changes of hotel, and changes in participants, but throughout this three year delay, Supertravel stayed with it, accommodated the changes and offered help when it would have been easier to scrap the whole thing. Thanks to Lee Birkett for his persistence and knowledge, top job all round.

Turning out to be a scam

This company was issued money by the hotel to give to me in form of a refund secondary to me having problems with my room. Although the company accepted the hotel’s funds, they are still refusing to issue my refund! What kind of scam is this?

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville Trips

I have stayed at several places throughout my time out here and super has given the best rates majority of the time. Super is so quick and easy to utilize. They also have discounts available at times on top of their already cheaper prices.

Awesome experience with super.com

First time using Super as a 3rd party to book a hotel room. I had a great experience, super easy to book through. Had a better rate than the other major 3rd party options and got exactly what I requested and paid for. I just hope they don't get greedy like the other guys and start jacking up their rates to get more money.

I made a booking with Super.com Hotels after being guided there from Trivago. I received an invoice with a booking number on it but when I checked with the hotel they have no record. we are travelling from Australia to Turkey for a wedding and I am really concerned that we'll get there and there wont be a room for us. I've tried emailing Super.com and have had no reply or acknowledgement. They had no problem accepting my payment but have no follow up support. At this point I will try to get my money back but I'm not hopeful. My suggestion is stay right away from Super.com.

Booked a hotel in Barbados (Yellow Bird), and paid for the all inclusive option. Got to the hotel, they don't do, and never have offered all inclusive. Super tried to blame it on the hotel, not honouring its commitment, but totally their fault, and would not reimburse the extra cost. Do not give them your business, they are crooks.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. Can't be bothered to help so won't. Arrived at the hotel to find that our booking hadn't been paid for by Super.com. Had to pay at the hotel again. Now in a position where apparently out details don't match there's so they won't deal with us for a refund. Funny that these details are what they have provided us. Would suggest that you stay clear and that Trivago do the same.

UPDATE: Still no refund, moving onto 3 months! An update for all fellow consumers. I had an email from Super.com providing an ARN number to track the refund they issued. Turns out, the method of refund was incorrect and it has taken a month of extra running around to my bank and wasting my time for this refund. Super.com could have just responded to my emails where I explained this, but instead they only respond to public online reviews. I actually want my money back - what is rightfully mine. It is a matter of principal as so far I'm sure my efforts have exceeded the amounts worth. So please Super.com, do the right thing, and transfer my refund to me correctly and in a timely manner. Quite frankly, I paid via a debit card and you refunded a visa number which is why the refund was not processed. Please get in touch so I can provide details of my account where you can refund me and I can update all these reviews and close the matter.

Hi Khezar, We understand the challenges you faced with your reservation, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for sharing your recent experience with our Support team. Your feedback is invaluable to us, as it guides our continual improvement and growth. We appreciate your understanding and want to acknowledge that, as a third-party booking site, unforeseen incidents in the travel industry may occur beyond our control. Despite these challenges, our dedicated Support team was able to address and resolve this matter and issue a full refund, along with additional compensation on January 5, 2024. We want to bring to your attention that this reservation was paid via a Visa card and the full refund has already been processed back to your original method of payment. Thus, we cannot refund it again to your other account as the money was already taken out of our card. Please refer to the email you received, which includes the refund receipt with the ARN for tracking. We highly suggest that you contact your bank to get clarification about their processing time. We hope we have clarified this for you.

Great prices. Great service. Very satisfied.

I have used Super.com three times including this week. The prices they provide are unbeatable. The clerk at the hotel I was stayed at quoted me over $90 a night. Super.com cut that price in half. Super.com communicates very well. You have a question, they are there. I will use them over and over again because they are dependable.

Easy to navigate and gives you great rates on a wide variety of hotels with accurate information listed about the hotel. I just wish pics of the rooms would be included to make it easier to choose which room is best to accommodate your needs.

Date of experience : March 22, 2024

After being ripped off when they traded as snap travel we should have learnt not to use them. They advertised an all inclusive room for £85 and a studio without meals for £84. Other booking agents were doing deals breakfast included for around the same price but because we thought we were getting a good deal all inclusive we booked this one. When we arrived at the hotel it did not offer “all inclusive meals” We then had to pay for our meals on top of the hotel. False advertising and definitely a scam company. When trying to do a chargeback with the bank they state they are happy to refund the price difference between the studio only and all inclusive which is £1. Clearly they know what they’re doing- Avoid

Best rates and easy to use.

Super had the best rate available and booking was a breeze. Anyone should know when you pay for the room in advance you will need to put down a security deposit. It's standard procedure so don't bully the person working the front desk about it.

Don’t book tour packages with Super Travel (ST) because

1) Bad customer service – staff has a “I don’t care” attitude & customer-unfriendly

2) Talk only, No action

3) Use their T&Cs and STB travel agent rules to block further conversation

4) Poor communication & high-handed

5) Staff behave like kings/queens – show little respect to customers

My friends and I booked a Europe holiday package and paid 6 months ahead of departure date. There were already 8 pax in the list … plus us = 11 pax, we felt it would not be a problem for ST to get 4 more pax to 15 pax (minimum group size), in 6 months with two major travel fairs plus several smaller ones in between.

4 weeks before departure, we checked on the confirmation so that we could apply leave, buy travel insurance etc. We were told to wait till 2 weeks before departure and staff refused further discussion by citing their T&Cs and Singapore Tourism Board’s travel agent rules. Staff was unhelpful and not interested in their customers’ needs (i.e. leave application and buy insurance coverage for insolvency). One male staff simply played delaying tactics – talk nice but no action!

About 2.5 weeks before departure, staff called to change the premium airline to a cheaper grade airline but original tour price remain unchanged. We decided to withdraw and request for refund. We waited 25 minutes in its office while the staff chit-chat with her colleagues. When we confronted her, she reluctantly processed our refund document which took less than 5 minutes.

Several other travel agents who sell similar package tours are over-subscribed and were confirmed 1 month before departure date. Yet, ST could not even form 15 pax minimum within 6 months to departure date! Seriously, don’t you think something is terribly wrong with ST?

The entire episode was unpleasant and full of frustration. The staff did not apologise throughout our ordeal. They behave like kings/queens and the customers are their servants instead!

My honest opinion – do not book any package holiday with Super Travel (Singapore) if you don’t want to ruin your vacation plans; and don’t wish to deal with unpleasant service staff with a “bo-chap” attitude. I won’t be least bit surprise if ST closes down eventually. For now, we can only hope for the safe return of our refund money within 4-6 weeks…

Thanks for sharing the inputs. In this age of connectivity, various online bookings and forums like this you can all book on your own with a little bit of research. Hope you get your money quickly and can book europe vacation yourself.

Hello, @flora_moomoo! It's really sad to hear these kinds of experiences. Knowing that the agency did not perform well, I just hope you could get your refund without hassle this time. I appreciate you for sharing.

Let's just hope for the betterment of the agency.

My family also met with a similar bad experience. we were planning to book a tour to europe and have already paid them the deposits as the agent told my mum we can cancel with no cancellations charged if we tell them by 7 April 2017 and they wrote it in black and white.

in the end we decided to cancel our trip on 7 April but the agent and their supervisor refused to refund us and even raised their voice at us, saying we didnt use our common sense. another agent that was NOT serving us even mocked at us and called my mum SIAO, RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR FACE and gossiped about us to her other colleagues. That was just really too much. Not only are they disrespectful, they ganged up on my mum and used their TnC against us, even though they never informed us about them even when my mum asked about them to clarify that their was no cancellation fees before she booked the trip.

Advise to other: just dont book with Super Travels. they treat customers like we're worthless and dumb. anyways going free and easy is about the same price as joining their tour.

It is appreciated that you shared your experiences with ST. Other travellers will be benefited with it..In fact i would request through this forum that such travel agencies and also other agencies connected with travel industry where you do not find them tourist friendly and face bad experiences should invariably be highlighted on respective travel forums so that they are blacklisted. This will help the prospective travelers.and lesson for such rogue agency.

Thanks for sharing!

An email letter to STB to highlight the same experience may probably get some action too.

Hope you get your refund soon.

I had a not so pleasant experience with ST many years ago for Korean trip (2001). I wont discuss further. When you go on a package tour be prepared to pay much more than "do it yourself tour" , i did Korea on my own in 2014, 16days and paid less than S$2.5k all in. Just last month 8 did a 23days Swiss/Italy all in less than S$5k. With a package tour you will pay same amount but the number of stay will be half, the food is all simple fare. My europe trip food are mostly in mid range restaurant , wine inclusive. The main advantage is we can stay at sight of interest as long as we want, disadvantage is you have to do homework like find out places of interest and how to go there, with todays technology, nothing is impossible.

So with such bad experience, take a look at self plan "do it yourself holiday". Once you have done it you will get hook.

Hi flora_moomoo,

I can understand your frustration over such bad customer services provided by ST. I am so blessed to chance upon your feedback. Otherwise, I would have contacted them to arrange a self-drive holiday in Japan.

I agree with Ong T that with today's technology, it is possible to arrange your own holiday provided you have the time to do so. Definitely, much better than to let others do the planning for you. We did a self-drive trip to Tasmania last year and had such a wonderful time. All you need is to get feedback from some kind souls who are willing to share. No rushing and plenty of time to do the things we enjoyed most.

I hope you have received your refund from ST. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us.

just about to book for my extended family and friends group of twelve an icelandic aurora holiday with super tours. Their advert seemed cheap but for fifty grand worth of payment i decided to check on trip advisor feedback first. Phew! Thanks but will be looking elsewhere.

What reviewers want you to know

Positive highlights.

  • Great customer service and airport shuttle to airport
  • Front desk great, room and beds fine, nice breakfast, good shuttle trip.

Critical highlights

  • What would've happened if we didn't have another credit card with another thousand dollars on it?
  • Do not book a hotel room from Super.com unless you want stress and frustration!

“First time user”

First time I've had the pleasure of using Super.com for booking my holiday accommodation and I'm absolutely delighted that I chose to take the plunge and use a company I'd never previously heard of. Everything about my experience is positive. Booking was seamless, communication excellent, so what's not to like. Will certainly be using again and will recommend to my family and friends.

“Worst booking agency ever! Steer clear of the best of the best!”

The same room was offered at two different prices. For $1 more I could book a fully refundable room. I had to cancel my reservation. It stated that my reservation was not refundable. There is no link to connect to someone to help with the cancelation. Their automated phone line puts you in a never-ending loop. Poorly managed company. Avoid using them!

Hi there, the hotel rates we sell are dynamic, which means they're always changing based on demand and availability. We do our best to find the most competitive rates, but have no control over price fluctuations. The taxes and fees that you see in your confirmation voucher are comprised of applicable local taxes & service fees. While charging fees is necessary for running a business, we do try to keep them as low as possible to provide our customers with the best rates.

I had the most horrific travel experience with these people. If you search for unpaid reviews, this company offers lower than average prices then after the deadline for refund is passed, they email you that they can not accommodate you due to some bogus reason that covers them. The refund process is extremely difficult, reaching their urgent care team is impossible (like literally). They left me without a hotel 1 day before my travel and also did not refund so now I am in a 6 weeks process of the dispute through my creditor and when I did that they emailed me that because of the dispute they can not refund me and I should wait for the process to be done. I am still happy because they are people who took their hotel offer, showed up at the destination and had no reservation, and were left stranded, based on other bad reviews that I see. Also even if you get another hotel in return it is usually much cheaper in an undesirable location. They are complete cheats.

Tip for consumers: DO NOT USE THEM

Can you share a success story using snaptravel? Can you share a success story using snaptravel?

They are a horrible company and with horrible customer service. They talk down to you and even when their website is wrong and they book your room different than what you picked online, they refuse to help you fix it. They threaten you with nonrefundable and if the hotel wants them to call and cancel they will not. They ask for a written letter from the hotel. Really the worst travel site around. You think you are saving money and you truly are not, you are not getting what you think you paid for and then they have the nerve to ask for a huge tip because they tried to help save you money.

Booking number b_11565655. the date should be oct 28/23-29/23 Booking number b_11565655. the date should be oct 28/23-29/23

The question the answer is if you use this company and one little thing goes wrong you can say goodbye to your money. My train canceled the hotel didn't get any money I didn't get any money back and super.com has a secret partner that gets the money but they won't tell you who they are

How do i verify my reservation How do i verify my reservation

Both motels were okay with changing the reservation that was wrong we made in Arizona to putting the reservation to the motel in Lewiston Idaho but these idiots wouldn't help and switch it kept my $75 and I didn't get a room when I asked to speak to the supervisor or higher up manager they refused and hung up on

I cannot accept refund fee. I cannot accept refund fee.

I do not understand, is this a question. They more than likely wont refund anyone. They pretty much refuse to refund anyone and this Travel Booking site asks for TIPS.

How to cancel online subscription fee?

I've never used your services and you're trying to take 15 from me please stop, super.s am has a secret partner. not the hotel. this secret partner keeps your money. i have read so many reviews where people showed at hotel, there, hi it says it includes taxes and fees but does not provide a breakdown of them. chat said to check about tab but no details given so how do i check, can’t see your question ask to get answers from the super.com staff and other customers..

Super Travel offers nice discounts but keep an eye out for cancellation deadlines. That said, I had a great experience with their customer support. Due to unusual circumstances, my husband and I needed to cancel our hotel reservation with them. It was past the deadline, but I explained our situation and they accommodated us with cancelation. I really appreciated this! Thank you, Super Travel for this courtesy. (P.S. I put four out of five because I was on hold for an hour and a half. It was worth it for me to request cancelation. But they really should hire more customer service agents.)

This company is a COMPLETE SCAM!!!!! You would think you're getting a deal and you're really not. I don't know who is in charge but the BBB better look into them. I booked a family vacation with them for my daughter's 6th birthday. My mom who was also supposed to join us on the trip DIED. YUP. SHE DIED. The day before my daughter's birthday. Trip was cancelled immediately. I called them and informed them. I sent all the necessary documents they asked me for. They said they would make the exception due to my mother passing. It's been a month. I've been calling because that money needed to go towards the funeral my siblings and I had to pay for. I told every worker I spoke to the situation and they all said the same thing. They will informed the department in charge of that. So I said okay. Can you transfer me through to that department. The person kept avoiding the question. But I think they are trained to avoid the question because this happened on many occasions. The first 3 or 4 people I spoke to said my refund should be here in 3-5 business days. Call back if you don't receive it. So I called back because I didn't receive it. Then they told me that I had to wait 14 business days. Until they make a decision. Then they said they gotta double check. I will be taking them to court and getting a lawyer because this is crazyyyyyyyyyy. It's been a MONTH!!!! Do not use this company AT ALL. Spend the necessary money you have to for happiness. Because this company ain't it!!!!

We have traveled all over the world and NEVER had such a bad experience. A trip to Africa is TAINTED by the hotel reservations we arranged thru SUPER (NOT). Had the insurance for cancellation and with a need to cancel conveyed to them MONTHS in advance and promise by one of their representatives to correct - they are now keeping the $900 from us they said would NOT be charged. When we tried to tell them we would keep the reservations they lied and said the rooms weren't available. THEY DID THIS TO KEEP THE $900 AND DO NOTHING FOR IT. Never had to write one of these but people should be warned, Found out they change their company name and wonder how long before they change again. Also they are known for not having a reservation for you when you arrive.

Photo of Wes W.

DONT DO IT!!!!!! paid for a reservation. Hotel never received the confirmation. Hotel confirmed that all information I received from Super was accurate to location and date but couldn't check me in because they never received anything themself. Super will not refund my payment.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Booked a hotel room thru them a week ago. "Saved" maybe 6 or 7 bucks over what other sites were charging....and THEN everything went to hell. The next thing I know, about a week later I'm getting calls from my credit card's fraud department about them making REPEATED $14.99 charges to my card. Tried to get hold of them to ask WTF was up with these, but they make it basically impossible to actually speak to someone. I finally get hold of someone thru their "chat" feature and they tell me that the $14.99 charges were MONTHLY charges for their "Super + membership", something I NEVER heard of or signed up for. NOWHERE on their site does it say ANYWHERE that booking thru them automatically signed you up for this crap or that you were authorizing additional charges. Took forever to get this all reversed, and it forced me to cancel my credit card and get a new one issued. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Photo of Kienyisha C.

I will give them a zero. This is a scam. i got double booked, and they won't refund the money. I'm trying to get the address so i can report them to bbb.

STAY AWAY! Do not book through this company. We booked a res in Punta Cana for 2 people. We get to the resort, it was only made for 1 so we have to pay an extra 1k for the second guest. We waited over two hours in the lobby playing phone tag. STAY AWAY!!!

Photo of Joey G.

Inflexible company lacking support and efficient assistance. Customer service unhelpful and difficult to connect with. Will not be using them in the future. Do not recommend booking with this company.

Photo of Darin F.

super.com is a complete scam!! We searched for a room for NYE 2023 in Encinitas, CA on Kayak.com. We found a great hotel, The Inn at Moonlight Beach, for a great price. So without doing my due diligence, I booked a room through super.com. Bad idea!!! Fortunately, before we left for the hotel to check-in, I called to check to see when our room would be ready. Of course, when I called them, they had no record of my reservation and said that anything booked through super.com is fraudulent and they do not honor any reservations through super. They also said they have tried many times to get their hotel removed from super.com, but they keep selling reservations to the hotel. Also, the pricing on the super website is completely wrong so they also cannot honor any bookings for such a low rate. I am in the process of trying to get a refund from super.com. We'll see how that goes. But the hotel did say that all the people who showed up with fake reservations from super.com were able to get a refund. Maybe other people have had luck with super.com, but I will never book anything with them again!

Photo of Steve P.

Not good, terrible customer service. The booking dates don't adjust to your travel dates. They don't send confirmations that your room is booked. Since there's no confirmation, you book on another app, these guys don't do refunds so you double pay... they suck!! Use anyone but these guys... STAY OFF THIS APP!!!

Hello, I know everyone says to arrive 3 hours early when you fly internationally. I only have one carry-on though (my backpack) and am travelling to Mexico. Not checking anything in.

Can I get away with arriving at the airport 2 hours before, or should I stick with arriving 3 hours?

5 replies to this topic

' class=

If you can check in online and get your BP, an hour will do if security lines are light (allow extra time if not). The 3 hr is to allow for document checks, and just volume of passengers.

Two hours should be fine depending on the time of day. I find International (D Concouse) security at YYC to be quite slow, even though I have a Nexus card. I wouldn't cut it finer than 2 hours - it's just not worth it.

Would you rather be 1hr early or 1 min too late? Things don't always go to plan.

super travel tripadvisor

Three hours assumes that one is checking baggage. And it seems to be a "one size fits all" recommendation which isn't necessarily appropriate for smaller airports. I've not flown from YYC. I've flown from other Canadian airports, and even at YYZ it has never taken me more than half an hour to get through security, if that.

So - why would one need to be there three hours before? One would just twiddle one's thumb and spend one's money in overpriced airport shops... and I think the latter is the real reason for that three-hour recommendation. Which is a fairly recent thing - it used to be two, and nothing has really changed. (They were recommending two hours back in the old days when there was no online check-in...)

‘20 or 30 Super Bowls.’ Drivers and Officials Brace for Massive Eclipse Traffic Jams

M elissa Schleig, a postmaster who lives in Strasburg, Virginia, drove more than 400 miles southwest to the Smoky Mountains to see the 2017 solar eclipse. The travel experience was miserable.

“It should have taken us about six to seven hours to go down there but it took us about a little over six hours just to go about two hours south of here. It was insane,” said Schleig, who began to drive down the day before the eclipse.

At least 5 million people traveled for the 2017 eclipse, according to a journal by the Institute of Transportation Engineers, but even more are expected to gather to witness this year’s total solar eclipse on April 8. Already, an estimated 31.6 million people currently live in the roughly 115-mile wide path of totality —compared to the 12 million that did in 2017.

“Having a total solar eclipse pass through the U.S. is kind of like having 20 or 30 Super Bowls happening all at once,” says Richard Fienberg, project manager of the American Astronomical Society's Solar Eclipse Task Force. “So many people are gathering for the spectacle over a long distance.”

Read More : How Cities Around the U.S. Are Celebrating the Eclipse

Transportation agencies are coordinating with the National Weather Service to spot areas of high interest for eclipse viewing to better prepare for traffic delays, but they say the impacts are unavoidable. “The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) knows that there is great interest in this rare solar event, and that’s why we want everyone to be aware of the real traffic and safety impacts,” FHWA Administrator Shailen Bhatt told TIME in an email. “We want people to remember this day and this experience—that may be once in a lifetime—for all the right reasons.”

This year Schleig, who is part of a Facebook eclipse chasing group, is traveling to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls to view the eclipse. And she’s hoping to learn from her 2017 mistakes: she’s planning to avoid the traffic by extending her trip from April 4 through the 10th, instead of driving the day before like she did last time.

How bad will traffic be?

The FHWA says Schleig has the right idea. It is advising people to drive early, and stay longer in the town where they’re viewing the eclipse to avoid traffic. The FHWA says it's hard to predict which cities or states will be most impacted by the eclipse traffic-wise, but they predict up to 5 million people will be traveling to the path of totality between Texas and Maine.

While drivers and officials are looking to the 2017 eclipse for hints of what is to come, traffic will likely be much worse this time. That’s because the 2024 path of totality—the area where the moon will completely obscure the sun—is a 3-hour drive away from 8 major cities with a population greater than 2 million, including Chicago, Houston, and Toronto. By contrast, the 2017 eclipse path of totality was a 3-hour drive away from only three larger metropolitan areas: St. Louis, Kansas City, and Portland, Ore.

Read More : How to Use Your Smartphone to Take Photos of the Solar Eclipse

If the expected 5 million visitors were to leave the path of totality as soon as the eclipse ends, the ensuing traffic would be equivalent to 71 sold out football games ending all at once, according to a journal by the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Where are people traveling?

Several eclipse chasers, like 62-year-old photographer Beth Hutter, told TIME that they were planning to travel to Texas because it has the lowest chance of cloud cover. “We didn't want to take a chance that the day of the eclipse it [would be] overcast and rainy,” said Hutter, who is traveling from Michigan to Kileen, Texas five days before the eclipse. “We made the mistake of trying to drive home the same day [for the 2017 eclipse]... So thankfully, because we're going to be right there, I don't think we're going to have to deal with the traffic nightmares that most people are going to have.”

Texas Department of Transportation media relations director Adam Hammons says that up to one million out-of-state visitors may be traveling to view the eclipse, in addition to the millions that already live in the state and will likely also be driving to different areas/cities.

Hammons says the eclipse runs through I-35, which is a significant corridor in the state that traverses through small towns as well as larger metro areas like Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth. “It really goes through a large portion of Texas,” he says. “There’s going to be some possible significant delays on these major corridors and/or farm roads…Give yourself extra travel time. Plan ahead your trip, plan your route,” Drivetexas.org, a website that shares real-time traffic updates, could be helpful in deciding which way to go.

Regardless of where you choose to see the eclipse, Hammons says it's important to have a safe, designated place to park and enjoy the experience—as long as it's off the shoulder of the highway.

Read More : Here’s What Determines How Long the Total Eclipse Will Last in Your Location

Other states like Arkansas, which has a population of some 3 million people , could see anywhere from 300,000 to 1.5 million visitors. (State officials have cited varying estimates .) The most extreme traffic will be seen along AR Highway 70 to Benton, AR Highway 65 from Conway to Greenbrier, and more. "There’s no doubt our Interstates and highways could be tested," Arkansas Department of Transportation Director Lorie H. Tudor told TIME in a statement, "but we have put forth our best planning efforts and we are cautiously optimistic that we are as prepared as possible to address any foreseeable issues that may arise."

New York is another state expecting a high volume of visitors and traffic. Many residents and out-of-state visitors will be traveling to the western and northern regions of the state, with Niagara Falls being an area of high interest. "We are expecting as many as a million people to come to Erie County solely for the eclipse," says Peter Anderson, press secretary for the Erie County executive, where Niagara Falls is based. According to data collected by Priceline and shared with TIME, Buffalo, New York has the second highest average airfare price compared to the travel cost to seven cities along the path of totality— including Dallas, Indianapolis, and Cleveland—at $999, and the most expensive average nightly hotel room cost among those cities listed at $476.

Still, for many of the eclipse watchers, braving bad traffic will be worth it. “It's just one of those things where you just realize your place in the world, and how small you are in comparison to the rest of the universe,” says Hutter. “The world just kind of stops.”
