The name Akiba is short for Akihabara ( 秋葉原 ) which is a a district in the Chiyoda ward of Tokyo, Japan. The name Akihabara is a shortening of Akibagahara ( 秋葉が原 , "autumn leaf field") , which ultimately comes to Akiba ( 秋葉 ) .

In Akiba's Trip , players roam the Japanese geek paradise Akihabara while battling vampires by stripping them down to their underwear. In addition to the main plot, they can also engage in activities typical of the district, such as purchasing cosplay and visiting maid cafes.

In Akiba's Beat the story alters from the previous installations of stripping characters, instead focuses of rhythmic battles and roles into a team role-playing game in which the player views the story of seven main characters unfold.

Akiba Freedom Fighters

• Canon Name : The manga adaptation gives him the name "Akihiro Tanaka."
• Hello, [Insert Name Here] : His "official" name for the game is Nanashi note  which means "no name" , but the player is free to choose their own name for him. Either way, you'll never hear the other characters referring to him by name.
• The Voiceless : In a way. He doesn't have a voice actor unlike the rest of the main characters. At best, he only has the same voice clips as the Bandman NPCs you occasionally fight against.

Shadow Souls

• Aloof Dark-Haired Girl : She has long black hair and pale skin and is pretty reserved and distant in general, but she is still a sweet girl underneath all of that.
• The Gadfly : She likes to mess with others occasionally to get a reaction, as seen with Suzu and later Nanashi.
• Mysterious Waif : She's the one who saved Nanashi's life by giving him blood mouth-to-mouth and she is the center of the game's plot in all of the routes by virtue of being the main heroine and the next Mother Soul
• Older Than They Look : She looks 17, but her actual age is unknown since Shadow Souls don't have a concept of age, although she says she might even be 10 years older than she looks
• Parasol of Pain : Her weapon is her umbrella, White Rose.
• Raven Hair, Ivory Skin : Crosses over with Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette . She has been noted to be quite beautiful, as noted by Nanashi in the intro crawl. However they also denote her nature as a Shadow Soul instead of a human.
• Sugar-and-Ice Personality : At first, she is rather defensive against Nanashi, but as you gain her trust, she starts to open up more emotionally

• Canon Name : The manga adaptation gives her the name "Misaki Tanaka."
• No Name Given : She lacks a name in the game proper.

This game uses a stripping mechanic that leaves enemies in their underwear after combat. One game mode allows players to dress a female character in a revealing outfit (e.g., lingerie/underwear) and follow the camera as it moves around her figure. The game text and dialogue also contain sexual references. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in dialogue. In one fighting mini-game, players use knives and cleavers to slash at each other, resulting in brief splashes of blood.

AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed

• You can leave Rin's route for last, since she doesn't have anything exclusive to her. Her side mission can be obtained on Shizuku's route, Tohko & Shion's routes have exclusive side missions, and you want all non-DLC side missions cleared for the best movement accessory: Walk With Your Head Down (Zombie Stalker has a really slow walk speed for cutscenes).
• You will not have a partner to Unison Strip with in Shion/Kati's routes for the most part, while for Kati's route, you need to clear the other 4 routes so you can give your partner Zenya good gear upon character creation.
• The above two create a paradox, so avoid doing Shion/Kati's routes on Otaku difficulty unless you've got +999 gear by grinding the Arena on Easy through repeated NG+ playthroughs, are willing to take the time to do arena and side missions for EXP, and use the Latest OS from DSP (EXP x 1.75) from Junk Street's DOSPARA (15,000 Yen) at certain times to obtain more levels*.
• You need to at least do Kati's route on Casual difficulty or higher so you can obtain The Master's Spirit from 100-Man Kumite, otherwise it does not drop.
• Battle Arena Rank D, C, B, A, and S.
• Junk Street from Chapter 2 onward, or after clearing Main Mission #13 "Hurry to Electric Town Plaza!", since enemies with 50 base EXP will spawn alongside the 30 base EXP Foreign Tourists (228 ~ 481 EXP each), there's no police here to arrest you, and it's better to farm than Side Streets, Showa Street Exit, or Electric Town Exit.
