This is a fantastic boating experience aboard the only square rigged topsail schooner sailing out of an Upstate port. A magnificent sight when the schooner glides by the cityscape with its bright red sails fully puffed out from the brisk Great Lakes breezes. Canandaigua Lady (Ontario County)

The Lady is an exact replica of a 19th century double decker paddle wheel steamboat. The boat, painted red, white and blue brings a real sense of beauty and history to Canandaigua Lake. At one time there were 19 steamboats cruising the lake. The Canandaigua Lady carries on the tradition. A variety of theme cruises are available, and the bottom deck is for all-weather excursions. Special note: The Historic Narrated Excursions include an interesting history of not only the lake but of the fabled "steamboat era" and some background about the original inhabitants of the region, the Seneca Indians.

Enjoy a Finger Lakes NY Dinner Cruise During Your Visit

The Finger Lakes are a popular upstate New York leisure destination for my bed and breakfast guests.  With their natural beauty, lakeside parks, public beaches IN these parks, and boating potential, these area attractions are a huge draw for locals and visitors alike.  But what if you want to experience the lakes without the crowds, and you aren’t traveling with a boat?  Maybe you’d like to try a dinner cruise on NY’s deepest waters!  There are on-lake dining options for both of the lakes closest to The Inn at Gothic Eves:  Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake, and any are a perfect choice for an unforgettable sunset dinner experience.

Cayuga Lake At almost 40 miles long, 3.5 miles at the widest point, and 382 feet deep, Cayuga Lake is the second-largest of the Finger Lakes, and is the closest to Gothic Eve’s inn lodging near Ithaca.  It is also arguably the most beautiful of the lakes with it’s pretty hills, amazing gorges. and gorgeous waterfalls.

CLC also offers Lunch, Brunch, Cocktail, and Happy Hour cruises for a variety of prices.  See their website for details.

Seneca Lake It’s 38-mile length, 1.9 mile max width, and maximum depth of 838 feet makes Seneca the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes (and of any lake in the state), and is the next-closest lake to my inn .  A popular destination for trout-fishers, the lake also has a mysterious phenomenon known as Mistpouffers: cannon-like booms and percussion that are heard and felt through the area!  Seneca also boasts some very pretty waterfalls and the Painted Rocks at the south end of the lake.

Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights are the traditional dinner cruises .  Five dinner options (including a vegetarian option) are joined by soup and salad, sides, and New York Cheesecake for dessert.  Cost is currently $47.95 for adults, $23.00 for the Kids’ size of the regular menu, and $19.00 for a Kids’ Menu option.

Wednesday brings a a laid-back Burgers and Blues Cruise is offered with burgers (of course), pulled pork, cold summer salads, beer, and live blues music.  Cost is $36.95 for adults and $16.00 for children 12 years and younger.

Saturday’s offering is a Margaritaville Dinner Cocktail Cruise , joining the above dinner cruise with a cocktail-cruise.  The cost is $49.95 for adults, $23.00 for the Kids’ size of the regular menu, and $19.00 for a Kids’ Menu option.

Sunday’s dinner is a Vintage Rock & Roll and Blues Cruise .  The traditional Dinner Cruise menu above is offered with the addition of live music.  The cost is $49.95 for adults, $23.00 for the Kids’ size of the regular menu, and $19.00 for a Kids’ Menu option.

While Mondays aren’t exactly a ‘dinner cruise’ per-se, teens are welcomed aboard for an alcohol-free good time featuring pizza, soft drinks, a DJ, and dancing for just $17.00.

Why not consider a Finger Lakes dinner cruise during your Trumansburg bed and breakfast stay?  I will be glad to help you make any dinner cruise arrangements, give directions to the docks, and answer any questions you might have about this great upstate New York adventure.

If taking that cruise through the Caribbean isn't in the cards for you, or ownership of that luxury yacht is not yet yours to take, do not fret: You are in Upstate New York, where waterways are plenty and day cruising is a favorite pastime.
