Golf's longest day: see who survived 2024 u.s. open qualifying to advance to pinehurst, share this article.

They call it Golf’s Longest Day but for those who survived and advanced, it’s the fullfillment of a dream.

Final qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Open was already held at three locations on May 20, but on Monday, there were 10 more, one in Canada and nine across eight states, from the East Coast to West, with hundreds of golfers competing over 36 holes at each locale for a golden ticket to Pinehurst No. 2 in the Village of Pinehurst, North Carolina.

The field for the Open, which takes place June 13-16, will be 156, with 44 of those entries coming Monday, a day that started with 687 golfers from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf as well as a slew of amateurs.

The 124th U.S. Open field is now at 127. Check out this list of who made it, as well as some notables who did not, during Golf’s Longest Day.

Adam Svensson was solo second at 12 under, Rico Hoey was solo third at 11 under, Davis Thompson was solo fourth at 10 under, Aaron Rai birdied the last to tie Greyson Sigg for fifth at 9 and Canadian Ashton McCulloch (a) grabbed the last spot at 8 under.

Who missed out: Matt Wallace, Keith Mitchell, Ben Griffin, Bud Cauley, Sam Ryder, Stewart Cink, Hayden Springer, Maverick McNealy (WD), Charley Hoffman (WD) and Alex Gaugert, caddie for Erik van Rooyen, who is in the U.S. Open field.

Who made it: Matt Kuchar won medalist honors at 7 under, while Daniel Berger and Dean Burmester tied for second at 6 under. Luke Clanton (a) was solo fourth at 5 under. Willie Mack III, Thomas Ponder (a) and Brendan Valdes (a) were tied at 3 under and faced off in a 3-for-1 playoff and when Valdes three-putted the second playoff hole, Mack, who lost his status on the Korn Ferry Tour, got in the field at Pinehurst.

Harry Higgs and Carter Jenkins then survived a 7-for-2 playoff after eliminating Ryan Gerard, Spencer Oxendine, Matt McCarty, Rhein Gibson and Satoshi Kodaira.

Who missed out: Spencer Levin, Cole Hammer, Harold Varner III, Doc Redman, Russell Knox, Miles Russell (a).

Who made it: Seamus Power and Justin Lower tied for co-medalist honors at 10 under. Brendon Todd, Gunnar Broin (a) and Chris Naegel then survived a 4-for-3 playoff, eliminating Otto Black.

Who missed out: Luke List, Hayden Buckley, Ben Taylor, Jhonattan Vegas, Andrew Putnam and K.H. Lee (WD).

Who made it: Zac Blair won medalist honors at 9 under. Beau Hossler and Carson Schaake tied for second at 8 under. That left the Australia duo of Adam Scott and Cam Davis in a 2-for-1 playoff. Scott bogeyed three of his last five holes, including the 18th, to end up in the playoff. On the third playoff hole, Davis made a three-foot putt to end it and take the last spot in this qualifier. Scott’s streak of playing in 91 straight majors is in jeopardy .

Who missed out: Troy Merritt, Maxwell Moldovan, Robert Streb, Zach Johnson and Austin Greaser (a).
