Avenged Sevenfold Announces Fall Leg Of ‘Life is But A Dream…’ North American Tour

With Special Guest Falling In Reverse

Today, multi-platinum headliners and famed heavy metal rock group Avenged Sevenfold have announced the second leg of their extensive Life is But A Dream… North American tour – featuring support from Falling In Reverse . Produced by Live Nation, leg two includes stops in Nashville, Denver, Austin, and more before concluding at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena on October 15. Fans will have the opportunity to hear the group’s first single in seven years, “ Nobody ”,  and their new album Life is But A Dream … for the first time live during the 30 show outing. 

The first leg with support from Alexisonfire includes thirteen cities across the U.S. and Canada, such as Mansfield, Québec City, Tinley Park, Calgary, and more. The group kicks off their 2023 solo touring run with two unique one night only arena shows in New York and Los Angeles this June.  

TICKETS:   Tickets will be available for the newly announced shows starting with a Deathbats Club and TicketPass presale (details below) beginning now through Wednesday, April 12 at 3 pm ET. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning on Friday, April 14 at 10AM Local Time on LiveNation.com . For all other shows, tickets are on sale now at LiveNation.com . 

PRESALE:  Deathbats Club members and TicketPass holders can request tickets first from now through Wednesday, April 12 at 3 pm ET using Ticketmaster’s new Token-Gated Sales platform at avengedsevenfold.io/ . Deathbats Club is a collection of 10,000 unique Deathbat NFTs, made popular by Avenged Sevenfold, flying around the Ethereum blockchain. A Deathbat is a membership card into the club and offers many perks and access to events that will take place in the “metaverse” and in real life. TicketPass is a new blockchain based verification and rewards system, created by Avenged Sevenfold & Bitflips, for anyone that chooses to participate. It is free, eco-friendly and requires very few steps to make sure fans can acquire the tickets they desire.  All fans have to do is set up a MetaMask or Coinbase  wallet and Avenged Sevenfold will airdrop them a TicketPass immediately. AVENGED SEVENFOLD reveal opening acts for North American tour

Avenged Sevenfold haven't played a single show since 2018, but that's all about to change soon. In May, the O.C. metal titans will headline major festivals, and in June, they'll hit the stage for two release shows for their new album, Life Is but a Dream , one in L.A. on the 9th and another in NYC on the 23rd. Then in July, they'll kick off their first North American tour in five years, leg one primarily in Canada, leg two across the U.S.

Alexisonfire and Falling in Reverse, respectively, are set to play in the direct support slot on each of those two legs, but that's not all. Today (April 27th), A7X announced the opening acts for the tour and it's a fittingly eclectic bunch for a band that's as hard to pin down as Avenged. NOFX frontman Fat Mike's new band Codefendants will open the Life Is but a Dream record release show in L.A., while funk-metal pioneers Living Color will open the show in NYC. As for the North American tour dates, Revolver favorite Kim Dracula will open on both legs.

Avenged Sevenfold announce second leg of 2023 North American tour

Avenged Sevenfold are expanding their touring plans in North America this year, announcing an autumn run in support of new album Life Is But A Dream.

A couple of weeks on from announcing their first Life Is But A Dream tour with Alexisonfire, Avenged Sevenfold have announced a second North American leg this year.

The Huntington Beach metal kings will be taking their long-awaited new album out on the road throughout North America in the autumn with Falling In Reverse, kicking off in Florida on September 16 and wrapping up in Texas just under a month later.

And as well as their Deathbats Club platform, A7X will be using their new TicketPass system in which they plan to reward fans in the long run.

Avenged Sevenfold Profile

Avenged Sevenfold is a metal band from Huntington Beach, Florida. Avenged Sevenfold is known for its diverse rock sound and dramatic imagery in album covers and merchandise.

Avenged Sevenfold emerged with a metalcore sound on the band’s debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and continued this sound through their second album Waking the Fallen. However, Avenged Sevenfold’s style had evolved by the band’s third album and first major label release, City of Evil, into a heavy metal and hard rock style. The band continued to explore new sounds with its self-titled release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before their drummer, James “The Rev” Sullivan, died in 2009. Despite his death, Avenged Sevenfold continued on with the help of drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), and released and toured in support of its fifth album Nightmare in 2010, which debuted on the top spot of the Billboard 200, Avenged Sevenfold’s first number one debut.

In 2011 drummer Arin Ilejay joined the band on tours and recording. Avenged Sevenfold’s sixth studio album Hail to the King, which was released in 2013, marked the only Avenged Sevenfold album featuring Arin Ilejay. Hail to the King charted as number 1 on the Billboard 200, the UK Albums chart, as well as the Finnish, Brazilian, Canadian, and Irish charts. In late 2014 Ilejay left the band, and was replaced by former Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman, but wasn’t revealed as his replacement until in 2015 the band announced Ilejay’s departure. The band surprise-released their seventh studio album titled The Stage on October 28, 2016, which debuted as number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US. The Stage is their first conceptual album and it marked another stylistic change for the band, moving towards the progressive metal sound.

The group was mostly quiet throughout the pandemic. In early 2023, they returned with a number of teaser videos, a new single, and a new album.

Avenged Sevenfold Announce 2023 North American Tour

Alexisonfire will serve as special guests

Avenged Sevenfold are returning to the road this summer. The group has announced their first full North American tour in five years. The trek kicks off on July 18 at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey and wraps up on August 7 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Very special guests for the run will be Alexisonfire.

Deathbats Club members can unlock exclusive first access to request tickets now until Tuesday at 12PM PT. Pre-sale for the official A7X mailing list begins Tuesday at 12PM PT / 3PM ET. General on-sale is Thursday at 10AM.

Another North American leg is scheduled, and will be announced in the near future.

Avenged Sevenfold previously announced two headlining shows in New York and Los Angeles. The performances will celebrate the release of the band’s  new studio album   Life Is But a Dream … which arrives on June 2. The shows are set for June 9 at the KIA Forum in L.A. and June 23 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Special guests for both shows will be Falling In Reverse and Pussy Riot.

The newly announced arena concerts mark Avenged Sevenfold’s first proper New York City on sale appearance since 2007 and their first Los Angeles county headline on sale since 2009. 

To date, Avenged Sevenfold have sold over 10 million albums worldwide and earned two consecutive No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart (2010’s  Nightmare  and 2013’s  Hail To The King ) to go along with over a billion video views and a billion-plus Spotify streams, as well as multiple No. 1 singles on rock radio. The band are equally known for their spectacular live shows, selling out arenas and headlining the world’s most prestigious rock festivals.

Avenged Sevenfold  on Tuesday (Nov. 28) announced new tour dates for North America in 2024. Indeed, this March, the band will further their trek in support of June's Life Is But a Dream…  throughout more destinations in the U.S. and Canada, with supporting acts in  Poppy and Sullivan King .

In a press release Tuesday, Avenged Sevenfold singer  M. Shadows says of the ticketing platform, "TicketPass will by no means cost anyone any money, you won't have to get involved in cryptocurrency, you won't have to do any of these things that people feel uncomfortable with, and the token that we're going to be using is on the Polygon network — an environmentally-friendly blockchain."

He continues, "We want to roll something out to the rest of our fan base without them having to opt into a full fan club experience that is strictly for tickets and ensuring our fans get … tickets they desire."

He adds, "At the end of the day, we want to know your feedback on if this worked well for you, and we will take notes and mold this for you. Look at this as a frequent flier miles type of program. With Avenged Sevenfold, we will be breaking these passes into 'tiers' over time and rewarding the people who have been participating the most in our A7X ecosystem (with merchandise, listening habits, music consumption, live events, and other metrics)."
