I Love the ’90s Tour Returning This Summer With Headliner Vanilla Ice
By Andy Greene
Andy Greene
In yet another sign the pandemic is rapidly coming to an end, the I Love the ’90s Tour is returning to the U.S. in August with Vanilla Ice once again serving as the headliner. He’ll be joined by a rotating crew of Nineties stars that includes Rob Base, Kid ‘n Play, Naughty by Nature, Coolio, Young MC, All-4-One, C+C Music Factory feat. Freedom Williams, Tone Loc, Sir Mix-A-lot, and Tag Team.
“Ice is back, and so is the I Love the ’90s Tour,” Vanilla Ice says in a statement. “We’re gonna be hitting your town live and in person this summer, so you better get in where you fit in and get back to the ’90s where the party never stopped!”
If they stick to the formula from the past, expect most of the acts to play three- or four-song sets building up to headliner Vanilla Ice. He closes out the night with nostalgic hits like “Ninja Rap,” “Play That Funky Music,” and, of course, “Ice Ice Baby.”
Four years ago, Rolling Stone ’s Rob Sheffield traveled to an I Love the ’90s gig in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and caught up with Ice himself. “People forgot how much fun we had in the Nineties,” he said. “We were the last generation that got out of the house. These kids today won’t leave the house — they’re on their computers. We didn’t have smartphones and selfies and all this. So we had to go out. We listened to music in our cars, not our phones — I took the backseat out of my ride and put in subwoofers. We got our movies from Blockbuster, man. ‘Be Kind, Rewind’ — they’ll never experience that!”
Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath had a similar thought about the decade. “The Nineties is when all the genres collided,” he said. “Lollapalooza started — that’s when you have Ice-T playing with Nine Inch Nails playing with Henry Rollins playing with the Boredoms. The walls came down. Alternative music landed by way of osmosis in pop music. You would hear Kiss-FM or Z-100: ‘Coming right up, Mariah Carey, Blink-182, Eminem, Sugar Ray,’ and you’re like, ‘What the fuck is happening?’ The genres got blown apart — that’s why we’re looking back.”

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.
We hate to break the bad news but time machines don’t exist.
Nope — not even DeLoreans.
As of 2023, we’d argue the closest thing we have is live music, which can instantly transport you back to a time or place with a single sound.
And this year, we’re going back to the ’80s.
Over the next few months, many of the biggest acts from MTV’s heyday are touring all over North America and taking their fans back in time with them.
Just a few of these huge stars hitting the road include Madonna , Guns N’ Roses , Duran Duran , B-52s , Bruce Springsteen and many, many more.
In fact, over 100 more.
You wouldn’t believe it but A Flock of Seagulls , Rick Springfield , Slick Rick , Kenny G and Billy Idol are all performing live over the next few months as well.
With that being said, it doesn’t matter if singling along to “Like A Virgin,” “Welcome to the Jungle” or “Born In The U.S.A.” sends you back — we’ve got ‘something for everyone.
Below, you’ll find a comprehensive list of 107 rock, pop, hard rock, alternative rock, new wave, R&B, hip-hop, jazz, folk, country, punk and Latin concert options to choose from.
Plus, if you scroll to the bottom we have the ultimate ’80s-tastic festival.
So, if you want to re-live your Gen X glory days or catch your favorite group live for the first time, here’s who you have to see and everything you need to know about each and every tour from opening acts to tour dates to how to get tickets.
Now, fire up the time machine (and grab your shoulder pads, leg warmers, and gold lamé leotards while you’re at it) — we’re going back to the ’80s.

24. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
November 14 & 16, 2023 at Scotiabank Arena
The Boss is as classic as the white tee and Levi’s on 1984’s Born To Run album, and just as durable. There is no sign his glory days are drawing to an end when Springsteen belts out gems from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.
25. Kiss

10 festivals with nostalgic music icons from 70s to the 90s you can still get tickets for
Share this with
2024 promises to be a big year for live music in the UK with some of the biggest acts in the world playing some of their biggest concerts here for years.
The likes of Stevie Nicks, Wet Wet Wet, and Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra, and many more, are off on country-wide tours in 2024, playing everywhere from London to Aberdeen and several towns and cities in between.
On top of that, dozens of major music festivals have announced line-ups boasting some of the most biggest pop and alternative acts from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
And if you want to be there among thousands of others watching on, here’s all the information you need if you want your fix of 20th century pop nostalgia this summer .
All Points East – August 16 to August 25
All Points East begins on August 16, 2024 and runs until August 25 .
The festival first opened in 2018 and has gone ahead every year since – except for 2020, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
All Points East has always been hosted at London’s Victoria Park, Hackney, and 2024 is no exception. Victoria Park is among the capital’s oldest public spaces.
This year, 90s hip hop and rap legend Nas will take to the main stage, with other huge names from the alternative rock scene also performing on different days across the nine-day schedule.
American 90s bands Pixies, Sleater-Kinney, and Teenage Fanclub are all set to play, while Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service are down to take over the main stage for a day to play two of their most celebrated albums back-to-back.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . Right now, general admission tickets are still available for around £80. Other tiers of tickets are available at varying prices.
Bearded Theory – May 23 to May 26
Bearded Theory begins on May 23, 2024 and runs until May 26 .
The festival’s full name is Bearded Theory’s Spring Gathering, and it has been running since 2008. It is among one of the most celebrated music festivals in the UK, having won seven awards since its inception.
This year, Bearded Theory will be hosted at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, which is roughly 20 miles south of Derby and 25 miles north of Birmingham.
If you’re looking to get your 1980s and 1990s fix at the festival, look no further than American alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction and Manchester’s very own electronic legends 808 State.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . A three-day pass can be purchased for around £220. Other tiers of tickets are available at varying prices.
Beautiful Days – August 16 to August 18
Beautiful Days festival begins on August 16 and runs until August 18 .
Having celebrated its 20th year last summer, Beautiful Days is back, boasting a seriously nostalgic line-up for anyone from Generation X.
As it always has done, Beautiful Days 2024 will be held at Escot Park in Devon. The park and gardens are just on the edge of the Blackdown Hills and roughly 10 miles from Exeter.
Toyah Wilcox and husband Robert Fripp are playing The Big Top stage, while The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft will be playing the Main Stage. Meanwhile, 90s dance act Utah Saints also top the bill.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . Weekend camping tickets are available for £190. Other tiers of tickets are also still available to buy.
British Summer Time Hyde Park- June 29 to July 14
Back for another year, BST Hyde Park will run from June 29 all the way through to July 14 this year, with nine big nights planned across that period.
The popular concerts have been running now for 11 years, with the first shows in 2013 starting off what has become one of the most popular festivals anticipated every year by thousands.
In case you need a reminder of where British Summer Time takes place, it of course is held in London’s Hyde Park.
This year, the likes of Robbie Williams, Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain, and Kylie Minogue are all headlining, with thousands of 80s and 90s music lovers already eager to get their hands on tickets.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . Right now, general admission day tickets are going for around £110, but other options are available at varying prices.
Isle of Wight Festival – June 20 to June 23
The longest-running festival in this list is the Isle of Wight Festival, which has run almost every since all the way back in 1968. This year, it’s on from June 20 to June 23.
Since its 2002 revival, the Isle of Wight Festival has been held at Seaclose Park on the island, just north of the town of Newport, which has a population of around 20,000.
This year it’s attracted some of the biggest names in 20th century pop, with the likes of new wave icons The Pretenders, Britpoppers Suede, electropop legends the Pet Shop Boys, and the remaining members of late-90s superstars S Club down to headline in 2024.
In addition, The Prodigy, Green Day, Simple Minds, and Johnny Marr will be playing some of the biggest shows in the UK for several years.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . Weekend tickets look to be around £270, while individual day tickets can also be purchased for cheaper prices.
Mighty Hoopla – June 1 & June 2
Perhaps the loudest, pinkest festival in our list is the Mighty Hoopla Festival, which brings together some of the biggest names in pop. This year it’s taking place on June 1 and June 2 . A pop-filled weekend will be had by all.
Descending on the festival this year to play to the thousands of people at Brockwell Park in Brixton, London, are the likes of En Vogue, B*Witched, Bananarama, Claire Richards from Steps, and Shaznay Lewis from All Saints.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . Right now, you can get single day general admission tickets for around £70, with all group tickets now sold out.
Nocturne Live – June 13 to June 16
Each year, Blenheim Palace’s Great Court transforms into a spectacular open-air concert venue for Nocturne Live. This year, the weekend from June 13 (Thursday) to June 16 (Sunday) will play host to some huge names.
Crowded House and Sheryl Crow’s show is already sold out, but tickets are still available for Chaka Khan and Sister Sledge’s night. And fans can sign up for Soft Cell and Heather Small’s night, with additional support from Heaven 17.
The biggest night will surely belong to Sugababes, Melanie C, and Shaznay Lewis, who will bring all of their British girl power pop to the stage.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . Tickets range between £45 and £90, with wheelchair space tickets also available at around £80.
Shindig Festival – May 23 to May 26
Billed as ‘the top alternative to Glastonbury’, Shindig Festival 2024 is set to be its last, with organisers saying they ‘want to go out on [their] own terms’.
And they’ve promised a great final year to everyone going, with 90s acts Groove Armada and Brand New Heavies among those who will appeal to attendees of a certain special vintage.
The festival takes place between May 23 and May 26 at the Dillington Estate in Somerset.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . However, only limited tickets are currently available, with everyone wanting to get down to Somerset for the final time.
We Are FSTVL – May 25 & May 26
An intense couple of days of dancing are promised to those attending We Are FSTVL, which is now just weeks away from entering its ’11th chapter’.
On May 25 and May 26 , revellers from across the country will descend on Central Park in Dagenham for two days of strobes and hard beats.
Legends of dance music, including Eric Prydz, Groove Armada, and Chase and Status, who have all been in the business for at least 20 years now, will be playing to huge crowds at the height of spring.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . You can buy a ticket for Saturday or Sunday for £85, or you can get full weekender tickets for £150. VIP options are available as well.
Wychwood Festival – May 31 to June 2
Cheltenham Racecourse is the scene for the Wychwood Festival, one of the biggest 90s nostalgia festivals of 2024.
From May 31 to June 2 , the likes of Texas, Ocean Colour Scene, The Coral, and the Lightning Seeds will play to thousands of people who were there in the 1990s when they were ruling the airwaves.
And for those who want a fix of 1970s and 1980s goodness, Sister Sledge and Dexys will be playing their greatest hits, while Peter Hook & The Light will be playing songs from Joy Division and New Order’s back catalogues.
More information on tickets, line-ups, and dates can be found here . A weekend ticket with camping costs around £170, with tickets at different tiers available for cheaper prices.

10 popular ’90s artists going on tour in 2024
(STACKER) – Every era seems to make a comeback decades later, and as of the late 2010s, the 1990s revival has officially been in full swing. In the past several years, we’ve seen fashion trends like Adidas slides and bucket hats become stylish again, while studios have rebooted popular ’90s movies, like the “Scream” franchise, and TV shows like “Saved by the Bell” and “Full House”—and it doesn’t stop there.
Reunion tours have also seen a resurgence, with ’90s artists ranging from TLC and the Fugees to Blondie stepping foot on stage for the first time in years. Fans are willing to fork out big bucks to see their favorite groups get back together, and many artists are capitalizing on the interest, while others would rather generate buzz about a potential reunion ( we’re looking at you, ‘N Sync ).
There are also ’90s bands that never stopped touring and are now cashing in on nostalgia in other ways, like album anniversary tours.
This year sees the trend continue, with Creed announcing their first shows in 12 years and Blink-182 continuing their highly anticipated reunion tour with Tom DeLonge. Other acts, like Weezer and Sarah McLachlan, are celebrating milestone album anniversaries in big ways, and New Kids on the Block are reprising their famous “Magic Summer” tour.
To help original fans and younger crowds discovering these artists for the first time, Stacker compiled a list of 10 popular ’90s artists going on tour in 2024 with the help of music publications and press releases. Read on to see who’s hitting the road this year and what makes their tour special.
