Flying Carbon Neutral into Melbourne , we transfer for our flight to King Island . This peaceful paradise greets us with beautiful beaches and world class produce, including succulent beef, rich gourmet cheese and the freshest seafood. We check-in, then make our way to King Island Dairy to learn about the local dairy industry and enjoy a tasting of their renowned cheeses. Our local guide then takes us on a Town Tour of Currie , the island’s main township, to stroll the streets before returning to our hotel. This evening we dine at the motel.

**Please note: Accommodation on King Island is a mix of motel rooms and cabins which can be  requested at time of booking. Itinerary scheduling may vary on tour depending on King Island weather and flight times.

Today takes us to the north of the island, where we start by visiting Shag Lagoon , a premium bird watching spot home to many migratory birds, including the endangered Orange-bellied Parrot. We break in Quarantine Bay for morning tea where we learn about Whistler Point , C hristmas Island and New Year Island . We learn all about the Shannon Wreck site at Yellow Rock River . From Paddock to Plate , we enjoy lunch made on the property from home-grown products. Next we continue on to Cape Wickham Lighthouse , the tallest in the southern hemisphere, then head across the Cape Wickham Golf Course , the number one ranked public course in Australia. We travel on to Disappointment Bay, Penny’s Lagoon and Martha Lavinia Beach , considered one of the world’s best surf breaks. After dinner, we go down to the harbour to watch the local penguins making their way home for the night.

Heading south today, we visit King Island’s Kelp Factory , discovering one of the island’s largest industries. At British Admiral Beach we see where harvesters collect the kelp which is then processed for a wide variety of uses. At the seaside township of Naracoopa we visit Sea Elephant Bay which is steeped in history. On our way to the intriguing Calcified Forest we learn about King Island’s first settling family at Surprise Bay . We’ll take in views of King Island’s spectacular rugged coastline, home to Australia’s worst peacetime maritime disaster, then travel to Seal Rocks and Ettrick Bay . At Millers Bay we view the island’s advanced hybrid power station . This evening we dine at View Dining , where the menu incorporates many of King Island’s products.

To book this tour, all you need to do is get in touch with us. We will take your details and reserve your place over the phone. We can also answer any questions you may have and give you all the information you need.

How much luggage can I take?

Our coach tours have a baggage restriction of 17kg per person (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. You can also bring one small, soft carry-on bag not exceeding 30cm wide, 30cm high, and 15cm thick that may be stowed in the overhead compartment.

What do the fitness ratings mean?

Each of our tours has a fitness rating which describes the level of physical activity involved with the tour. These ratings are very important when choosing your tour to ensure it's right for you.  Our fitness ratings are:

  • 3 Active/moderate
  • 4 Highly active

What is the average size of tour groups?

Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests. Other tour types may have different capacities depending on the transport and destination. Please get in touch with our team if you have any questions about a specific tour.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

In most cases, yes we can. We can accommodate guests who are vegetarian and can assist with diabetic, gluten-free and other medically-recommended diets. Please advise us at time of booking, and we can confirm with our suppliers and restaurants.

What can you expect?

You don't have to worry about any part of your King Island holiday. Every group is different with with special interests & needs. It's our job to give you choice & an unforgettable time on King Island. King Island is an island in Bass Strait - & sometimes we may have to change something.

All you have to do is pack your bags, then our trusty driver will pickup your group and get you to your flight. We also make sure you get home after your holiday! We will meet  you at King Island Airport & introduce you to everyone.

Your group package will have been designed to suit your group's interests & tastes. As a guide most package deals include all transfers, flights, bus transport, accommodation, meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner), morning & afternoon tea. Wherever possible if your travel dates coincide with a King Island event we will arrange entry.

Don't forget:

Cruise along the coast and through rolling green hills as you experience the varying landscape of the island. King Island Car Rental offer friendly and personalised service with vehicles available for pick up from the airport. Vehicles include compact cars through to small and large SUVs or larger vehicles with 8+ seats for groups.

Vehicles are provided full of fuel. We appreciate vehicles being refuelled prior to return though if time does not permit, we will refuel for you and add the bowser cost (+$10 service fee) to your hire charge.

Island Car Hire

Island Car Hire offers a range of affordable cars available for hire. Collecting your car is a quick and straightforward process; the car keys are stored in a secure lockbox on your car, in which you use the unique passcode we give you to open it and retrieve them.

Bookings: If you are a mature age driver (over 75) or younger age driver (18 to 20) please contact us to discuss your hire options. Contact us to view our terms and conditions.

If you need to change your booking let us know no later than 24 hours prior to Start of Hire, and to extend your current hire period contact us at least 24 hours prior to End of Hire.

Cancellation: A cancellation fee equivalent to one day’s hire will be charged for cancellation with notice no later than 48 hrs and the remaining balance will be refunded.

As our service is contactless you need to send us a photo of your drivers license and your airline ticket to our contact number or email so that we can verify your identity at least 24 hours prior to your arrival. If you do not do so we reserve the right to cancel your booking and charge you for the associated costs unless we are able to hire out the car for the equivalent term and rate. The same applies for cancellation with less than 24 hours notice and ‘no shows’.

Unearth natural wonders, heritage icons and local taste sensations on this remote outpost in the Bass Strait. Local guides with insider knowledge will escort you to the island's most famous landmarks including Shag Lagoon, the Shannon Wreck, Disappointment Bay, the Wickham Lighthouse and the Hybrid Power Station. We'll discover local cheeses, visit a beef farm and dine on culinary delights created by renown local chefs.

Day 1. Melbourne to King Island (L,D)

Flying Carbon Neutral into Melbourne, we transfer for our flight to King Island. This peaceful paradise greets us with beautiful beaches and world class produce, including succulent beef, rich gourmet cheese and the freshest seafood. We check-in, then make our way to King Island Dairy to learn about the local dairy industry and enjoy a tasting of their renowned cheeses. Our local guide then takes us on a Town Tour of Currie, the island’s main township, to stroll the streets before returning to our hotel. This evening we dine at the motel.

**Please note: Accommodation on King Island is a mix of motel rooms and cabins which can be requested at time of booking. Itinerary scheduling may vary on tour depending on King Island weather and flight times. 3 Night Stay: Island Breeze Motel, Currie

Day 2. King Island (B,MT,L,D)

Today takes us to the north of the island, where we start by visiting Shag Lagoon, a premium bird watching spot home to many migratory birds, including the endangered Orange-bellied Parrot. We break in Quarantine Bay for morning tea where we learn about Whistler Point, Christmas Island and New Year Island. We learn all about the Shannon Wreck site at Yellow Rock River. From Paddock to Plate, we enjoy lunch made on the property from home-grown products. Next we continue on to Cape Wickham Lighthouse, the tallest in the southern hemisphere, then head across the Cape Wickham Golf Course, the number one ranked public course in Australia. We travel on to Disappointment Bay, Penny’s Lagoon and Martha Lavinia Beach, considered one of the world’s best surf breaks. After dinner, we go down to the harbour to watch the local penguins making their way home for the night.

Day 3. King Island (B,L,D)

Heading south today, we visit King Island’s Kelp Factory, discovering one of the island’s largest industries. At British Admiral Beach we see where harvesters collect the kelp which is then processed for a wide variety of uses. At the seaside township of Naracoopa we visit Sea Elephant Bay which is steeped in history. On our way to the intriguing Calcified Forest we learn about King Island’s first settling family at Surprise Bay. We’ll take in views of King Island’s spectacular rugged coastline, home to Australia’s worst peacetime maritime disaster, then travel to Seal Rocks and Ettrick Bay. At Millers Bay we view the island’s advanced hybrid power station. This evening we dine at View Dining, where the menu incorporates many of King Island’s products.

Day 4. King Island to Melbourne (B)

This morning we head to King Island Airport for our Carbon Neutral flight to Melbourne and our journey home
