We've been part of Scotland and its culture for generations. This is a chance to learn about the rich heritage of one of the country's most loved brands as well as about the production processes that have taken place at Wellpark from through the centuries up to today. You'll hear about the 450 years of tradition and learn the Tennant's story at the heritage centre before getting an insight into how the lager became a part of Scottish culture.

Tour de France 2024 : Jonas Vingegaard, double tenant du titre, sera bien au départ de la Grande Boucle, tout comme Wout Van Aert

Il n'y a plus de doute. Alors qu'il n'a plus couru la moindre course depuis sa lourde chute survenue en avril dernier au Tour du Pays basque , Jonas Vingegaard, double vainqueur danois du Tour de France (2022 et 2023), sera bel et bien aligné sur le Tour de France 2024 qui s'élancera de Florence le samedi 29 juin prochain. C'est son équipe, la Visma-Lease a bike, qui l'a annoncé, jeudi 20 juin sur les réseaux sociaux. Le Belge Wout Van Aert, lui aussi victime d'un grave accident à l'automne, y sera également .

Le 4 avril dernier, le coureur danois de 27 ans avait été pris dans une impressionnante chute, lui causant pneumothorax, contusion pulmonaire et fracture de la clavicule gauche . Opéré avec succès de la clavicule, Vingegaard avait passé plus d'une dizaine de jours à l'hôpital . Il avait pu reprendre l'entraînement début mai dernier, seulement un mois après l'opération . 

Deux revenants de grosse blessure

"Je suis excité à l'idée de commencer le Tour,  a-t-il confié dans un communiqué de la formation néerlandaise.  Les derniers mois n'ont pas toujours été faciles, mais je remercie ma famille et mon équipe pour leur soutien inconditionnel. Nous avons travaillé ensemble pour ce moment et je suis évidemment impatient de voir où j'en suis. Je me sens bien et très motivé."

Il courra aux côtés de Wout Van Aert, victime lui d'une grosse chute en fin mars dernier qui l'a empêché de courir le Giro . " Ce n'était pas le plan de départ, évidemment, mais vu mes progrès ces dernières semaines, je voulais vraiment faire le Tour, et l'équipe l'a accepté, explique le vainqueur de neuf étapes sur le Tour de France. Notre objectif principal est de lutter pour le top du classement général avec Jonas, et je veux y contribuer avec une équipe excellente." 

Sepp Kuss, vainqueur de la Vuelta 2023 , mais aussi Matteo Jorgenson, vainqueur de Paris-Nice 2024 , et le Français Christophe Laporte, notamment, les accompagneront pour tenter de conserver le maillot jaune dans la formation néerlandaise.

ATP Queen's: Carlos Alcaraz, tenant du titre, battu dès le deuxième tour

Carlos Alcaraz, tenant du titre, a été éliminé dès le deuxième tour du tournoi de tennis ATP 500 du Queen's, épreuve sur gazon dotée de 2.255.655 euros, jeudi à Londres.

L'Espagnol, deuxième joueur mondial et tête de série N.1, s'est incliné 7-6 (7/3), 6-3 face au Britannique Jack Draper (ATP 31) en 1 heure et 39 minute en huitièmes de finale.

Draper rencontrera en quarts de finale l'Américain Tommy Paul (ATP 13/N.5), vainqueur 6-3, 6-4 du Chilien Alejandro Tabilo (ATP 24).

Alcaraz disputait au Queen's son premier tournoi sur gazon de la saison. L'Espagnol a remporté Roland-Garros le 9 juin. Il défendra son titre à Wimbledon à partir du 1er juillet.

Cyclisme: Vingegaard et Van Aert seront sur le Tour de France

Ils ont gagné leur première course contre-la-montre. Blessés dans des violentes chutes plus tôt dans la saison, Jonas Vingegaard , double tenant du titre et Wout Van Aert , figurent dans l’équipe Visma-Lease a bike pour le Tour de France qui s’élancera de Florence le 29 juin et qui arrivera à Nice, le 21 juillet. Le Danois sera le leader de l'équipe malgré les doutes sur son état de forme après ses importantes blessures (fractures de la clavicule et de plusieurs cotes, contusion pulmonaire, pneumothorax) occasionnées lors de sa chute au Tour du Pays basque le 4 avril en compagnie de plusieurs autres favoris au Tour (Remco Evenepoel, Primoz Roglic).

"Nous ne savons pas encore jusqu'où il peut aller"

"Je suis impatient de débuter le Tour", lance le coureur de 27 ans. "Les derniers mois n'ont pas toujours été faciles, mais je remercie ma famille et l'équipe Visma-Lease a Bike pour leur soutien indéfectible. Nous avons travaillé ensemble pour arriver à ce moment, et bien sûr, je suis très excité de voir où j'en suis. Je me sens bien et très motivé."

S'il a repris l'entraînement il y a deux mois, il n'a pas encore couru en compétition depuis. Et son équipe est bien consciente des potentielles limites de son coureur. "Bien sûr, nous ne savons pas encore jusqu'où il peut aller", confie Merijn Zeeman, le directeur sportif. "Nous sommes prudents car il n'a pas pu courir et sa préparation n'a pas été idéale, c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire. Mais il sera là, en bonne santé et motivé.

Wout van Aert, tombé sur A travers la Flandre le 27 mars (contusion au poumon, fractures de la clavicule et de cotes), est aussi présent pour viser des étapes et accompagner son leader. Sa chute a rebattu les cartes puisqu'il ne devait initialement pas disputer la Tour de France pour se concentrer sur le Tour des Flandres, Paris-Roubaix et le Giro, auxquels il a dû renoncer. Le Belge a déjà recouru sur le Tour de Norvège. "J'attends le Tour de France avec impatience", a-t-il déclaré. "Bien sûr, ce n'était pas prévu au départ, mais après mon évolution ces dernières semaines, j'en avais vraiment envie et l'équipe était d'accord. Notre objectif principal est bien sûr de courir avec Jonas dans le top du classement. Je veux y contribuer avec une excellente équipe."

Si Jonas Vingegaard est trop court pour la victoire finale, l'équipe néerlandaise a prévu des plans de secours avec Sepp Kuss, habituel lieutenant de Vingegaard qui avait remporté le Tour d'Espagne 2023. La forme de l'Américain interroge toutefois après son abandon sur le Critérium du Dauphiné. Son compatriote Matteo Jorgenson, vainqueur de Paris-Nice et A travers la Flandre, a aussi une sérieuse carte à jouer en cas de défection de Vingegaard.
