The Bajoran Faction Loop, Explained LIVE by Game Design!

Today, we were humbled to host two shadowy figures within the community and bring some light to the feature this month. From Game Design headquarters, we welcomed Designer Dunsel and MisterTiger, who were responsible for building the new faction, loop, hostiles, and armadas. What is the design intent? What is working as intended and not so much? And what are they watching for as players feel their way through the loop? Hear directly from the designers themselves as we explore Scopely's newest faction!

Carnac's Guide to Star Trek Fleet Command

Faction Reputation, and How to Get It

Carnac | August 2, 2020 June 5, 2020 | Strategy

If you’re looking to advance in Star Trek Fleet Command, finish missions, win battles and get bigger ships, you’re going to need faction reputation.

How do I get Faction Reputation?

  • Killing hostiles of the other factions.
  • Completing your daily goals
  • Completing missions
  • Spending resources in the various daily Faction Reputation Events
  • Defeating armadas (the only way to gain faction rep without losing any).
  • Spending charged nanoprobes in the event store.

Getting Faction Reputation from Killing Hostiles

As with most everything in Star Trek Fleet Command, it’s all about triangles. So if you kill a Federation ship, your Romulan rep will go up a lot, your Klingon rep will go up about half as much, and your Fed rep will go down. Higher-level ships will give you more reputation than lower-level ships. Survey ships will get you more reputation than warships. And scout ships not only give you messages, but they provide you with more reputation than survey ships.

Reputation Levels

Faction “lock”.

When you get your reputation with any of the factions to 10 million, it will lock, meaning that it will never fall below 10 million. No matter how many ships you kill, or missions you do, the lowest your faction rep will go will be 10 million. Dual faction lock and triple faction lock will open up a lot of ships and resources for you.

What’s the Faction Store?

Here you’ll find ship blueprints, loyalty packs, recruit packs, raw materials, avatars, and commendation ranks. You’ll spend the faction credits that you’ll earn on these. In general, you’ll want to save your faction credits for ship blueprints. The loyalty packs are good too but don’t go nuts with those.

And here’s the answer to the question that everyone has asked so far – no, you shouldn’t buy the commendation ranks until you absolutely have to for a mission . They don’t do you any good beforehand, and yes, I really wish someone had told me this before I bought a few.

I can’t imagine why anyone would spend faction credits on avatars… but to each his own.

What About the Augment Faction?

Augments are a horse of a different color. Augment reputation is earned in events, or purchased in the faction store. You can’t get it by destroying ships. It never goes down. Once you get to 10,500,000 you never have to worry about it again.

Bajoran reputation is gained by killing hostiles in Dominion Space, getting their loot and then turning it in in the Bajoran Reputation Store. In addition, many of the rewards here are gotten from solo armadas.

Increasing Reputation

To increase your Bajoran rep, you need to buy it in the Bajoran Faction store. As your rep goes up, so does the amount of rep you get from each purchase, but so does the cost.

To get the currency for this, you have to turn in the Hostile Exchange daily in the Bajoran store. If you look above, this has a 22 hour cooldown, and I pulled mine about 4 hours before the screenshot. The currency for this comes from Dominion Hostiles in Dominion Space, which is very hard to find if you don’t know where to look. It’s the very top left of the galaxy map, so if you go to the top of Federation space and then keep going left, you’ll find it.

Inside of Dominion space, you’ll find hostiles to get the items to turn in for the loot.

The Defiant

The Defiant blueprints are obtained through this store. If you want to get the Defiant, you must defeat armadas to get the loot to exchange for uncommon, rare, epic and elite chests. From those, you’ll get the Diplomacy Tokens you need to buy the blueprints. You can buy one blueprint a day, and it costs 55 Diplomacy Tokens.

Loot Chests

To get to the loot chests, you need to buy the daily uncommon armada directives. From 40+, from your uncommon armada chests, you will get rare armada directives. From the rare armada chests, you will get epic armada directives. So it’s a cycle, do some uncommons to do one rare, do some rares to do one epic.

Many thanks to JulesVern, BlueMandalorian, UltimateDJz, and the STFC for compiling the exchange chest information.

Uncommon Loot Exchange

This chest unlocks at tolerated, and is on a 46 hour cooldown. You spend loot from defeating solo uncommon armadas here.

Rare Loot Exchange

This chest unlocks at militia, and is on a 70 hour cooldown. You spend loot from defeating solo rare armadas here.

Epic Loot Exchange

This chest unlocks at tolerated, and is on a 70 hour cooldown. You spend loot from defeating solo epic armadas here.

Elite Loot Exchange

This chest unlocks at tolerated, and is on a 70 hour cooldown. You spend Dominion Solo Armada Edicts here, where are dropped off of all solo armadas; the Defiant will boost the amount of these you are getting off each armada.

Where to Find Cardassian Hostiles in Star Trek Fleet Command

Star Trek Fleet Command’s newest event, dubbed “Deep Space Nine,” sees the introduction of a brand-new sector of space to explore. Up in the northwestern regions of the galaxy lies the Cardassian and Bajor space, alongside powerful armadas that are waiting to be challenge. Do you have what it takes? Today, we’ll show you where to find Cardassian hostiles in Star Trek Fleet Command!

Locating the Cardassian Hostiles in Star Trek Fleet Command

The Deep Space Nine event is a new battle pass for all players to take part in and enjoy. The battle pass will see players head out to the new regions and complete brand-new story missions, while earning new Officers along the way.

For some battle pass missions, players will be tasked with taking down Cardassian hostiles. The new Cardassia sections are in the top left corner of the galaxy map, as shown here . You’ll need to be high enough level with strong ships in order to make the warp jump over there, so be prepared.

If you need additional directions, the Cardassia system is located directly west of the Borg cube region. Again, it’s quite the journey up there, so you may or may not be able to make the jump, depending on your level.

Starting with the Bajor system and going westward, you’ll encounter Cardassian hostiles scattered throughout the various nearby systems. You should have no problem finding them once you’re up here.

If you’re too low level and your ships aren’t strong enough to make the trip, make sure that you’re using an Officer that boosts your warp range, such as Cadet Scotty . These kinds of Officers really come in handy when they introduce new areas like this.

However, just making it to the Cardassian system is only just the beginning. If you’re planning to take on the Cardassian hostiles, be prepared for a fight as they can range anywhere from 130,000 to 201,000 strength !

That concludes our guide on where to find Cardassian hostiles in Star Trek Fleet Command . If you have any other tips or questions, let us know in the comments below!
