About Trip Magazine

Trip is a genuine Brazilian project, and as such, it is not easy to understand, much less to explain
Trip magazine was created in 1986. Today, its name is present on radio shows, CDs, Internet, social projects and on its feminine version, TPM magazine . Trip is not just a magazine. Trip is a genuine Brazilian project, and as such, it is not easy to understand, much less to explain. It was developed differently from any other magazine, but it carries in it, the DNA and influence of all others. It is a ongoing metamorphosis - however, it holds a solid opinion on everything. It takes life seriously, without taking itself so seriously. It is effortlessly sensual, with its own rythm. It's alluring; it is even a pretentious tad . It is not ready, nor will it ever be... Brazil is a Trip.
BRAZILIAN BEING, GLOBAL BEING
Author Ricardo Guimarães
Brazil was not created to be a country of the first, nor the third world. Brazil was not made to be a country, but more a race, a way of being. It's not easy to describe the Brazilian being, because he is not ready. He is very young - 500 years old - and is comprised of all the races on the planet, a mix that takes time to shimmer in order to come togheter. However, some especific attitudes can be identified in the Brazilian being. And it is these attitudes that nominate him as a reference to what the global being is. Being global is not traveling the world, nor speaking three languages, and much less having three offices in international capitals.
Being global is knowing how to live in real-time, accepting and adjusting to a new reality each minute, changing it and onesself. Brazilians are master of this: with no roots, no tradition, no wars, but with plenty of inflation, affection, and lots of sun. Brazilians have always lived for today. The future belongs to God. Hanging on to the past or clutching for the future is the perfect dosage for suffering and loss because nothing will be as it was before. The indiffrence, flipancy and rapidness with which brazilians adapt and change reality is already considered a plus in the criteria of international headhunters, as this attitude guarantees velocity in the innovation of science, technology, processes and markets. While other beings analize, consider, weigh up an conclude, the Brazilian being, without complaining or further consideration, will go directly to the novelty and courageously evaluate what will be left by the wayside and what will be gained as if there were nothing to lose because he never really had anything, never has anything.
Being global is also knowing how to live with and appreciate others for their differences and not for their equalities. It is the celebrated diversity. And the Brazilian being, due to a total lack of identity and self-esteem, has always been the other that, far from being different, simply did not exist, because he wasn't ready. The Brazilian being is still the non-being, the being to be. The Brazilian being doesn't exist like the American being, the English being, the Argentine being, The French being, the Japanese being, the Russian being. And it is the fact that he is not ready and does not exist that gives the Brazilian being the comtemporaneity to be global, this permanent coming into being. Nothing is ready, nor will it ever be. Life is process and rhythm, it is to live, it is to change. It is being the other of the others, and it is this that humanity is finally beginning to understand when matter, places, distances, borders, and languages become aspects in the great process and therfore have as much importance as an aspect and not purely as an quintessence.
Being global is also knowing how to imagine. After the collapse of the international world of borders&backstage, of the cold war&manipulations, it is necessary to imagine a new world. And for the Brazilian being, in the lack of a past and a future, all that is left is the imagination, such as this which we keep that being Brazilian is a reference to what the global being is. Why not?
