AMARANTHE's Olof Mörck comments,

So this has been a LONG time coming, in many ways! A DRAGONFORCE + AMARANTHE tour is a no-brainer since we have been friends forever, and share an affinity for catchy choruses and all-out entertainment on stage! Secondly, it has been WAY too long since we have properly toured North America! We know you guys have been waiting THREE long years since we had to cancel our tour due to the pandemic. But the wait is almost over, and we can very barely contain our excitement for this beast of a tour. See all of you wonderful North American fans this fall!

DRAGONFORCE's Herman Li states,

We're really looking forward to touring in the US and Canada again. We've prepared a new setlist with some brand-new songs that we'll be releasing before the tour begins. Alongside these, we'll also be playing some older songs that haven't been in our setlist for long time, as well as some classic favorites that are a must. It's shaping up to be a fantastic tour!

Recent tour reviews

Amaranthe does not come often to Paris and their concert was sold out.

They played a mix of their best old songs and of their new album and they offered us a real good concert. It was a blast.

I would like also to mention in this review the excellent performance of the charm and the fury who did the first part of this incredible night !

This metalcore band deserves to be more famous in France since they were awesome !

The amaranthe concert was awesome 5 stars music and vocals, on the other hand the 4 opening acts were disappointing, the music was good but the vocals were horrible. Too all 4 bands I give 5 star for the music and 1 star for the vocals.

Perfect venue for a flawless band. Amaranthe did not disappoint in either performance nor grace. They rocked a full hour and a half set with a besutiful four song encore and never once left the audience longing for more. Every sound echoed and the energy in the building was ecstatic. The band even stuck around to greet and take photos with fans with a smile and a laugh. Thank you, Amaranthe, for remaining so classy throughout even after days of touring and exhaustion. One of the best concert atmospheres and performances I've attended to date.

The Catalyst will be available digitally and in different physical formats including CD, Vinyl, and a 2CD Special Edition. The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in Amaranthe’s storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.   “We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time,” Mörck grins. “In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally, the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought, why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous.” The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

About Amaranthe: Formed in 2008, Amaranthe walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock, and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

Last November, DRAGONFORCE released a music video for the song "The Last Dragonborn" . The track is taken from DRAGONFORCE 's latest album, "Extreme Power Metal" , which came out in September 2019. Produced in Los Angeles, California by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited , the LP was also recorded, in part, on Li 's livestream channel on Twitch with participation from the fans.

"The Last Dragonborn" is the first DRAGONFORCE music video to feature bassist Alicia Vigil , who first joined the band as a touring member in January 2020.

DRAGONFORCE 's platinum-selling single "Through The Fire And Flames" brought the London-based Grammy -nominated extreme power metal group international acclaim and was featured as the most challenging song on "Guitar Hero III" .

In March 2019, the "Through The Fire And Flames" music video reached a new milestone: it surpassed one hundred million views on YouTube — DRAGONFORCE 's first music video to do so.

"Through The Fire And Flames" is the leadoff track from 2006's "Inhuman Rampage" album, which was officially certified gold in July 2017 by the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of America ) for sales in excess of half a million copies.

In August 2019, DRAGONFORCE parted ways with longtime bassist Frédéric Leclercq . He has since joined German thrashers KREATOR .

Amaranthe Unveil Heist-Themed ‘Boomerang’ Video Ahead of North American Tour

Amaranthe 's latest album Maximalism was released last year. They have now unveiled the video for the song "Boomerang" that you can watch above.

"It is finally time to release our brand new video for 'Boomerang,' an Amaranthe take on the classic heist movie," says guitarist Olof Mörck. "Directed by the legendary Patric Ulleaus, it is everything you have come to expect of an Amaranthe video and much more!"

Mörck continues, "It is perhaps the most ambitious video from the band so far, since it is packed to the brim with action, glitter, and glamour. You can try to bring us down, but we'll come around, like a 'Boomerang!'"

Amaranthe kick off a North American headlining tour tomorrow (Feb. 10) in Houston, Texas. Opening bands are  Failure Anthem , Citizen Zero , Cypher 16 and Smash Into Pieces.

After Jake E.  announced a hiatus from the band, they recruited Chris Adams from Smash Into Pieces to fill in for the tour. Now, Jake has confirmed he has permanently left Amaranthe . With Smash Into Pieces providing support, Chris Adams should continue to fill in at least through this tour.

"After eight years and four albums, I have decided to leave Amaranthe," Jake E. says. "I am extremely proud of the band and what we've accomplished together. Amaranthe have the most AMAZING fans and they have given me so much during the years, which I am extremely grateful for. I want to thank them all for always supporting me during the highs and the lows. Thank you for these years and I hope to meet you again soon."

HOUSTON (AP) — Time marches on and all good things must come to an end. But don’t tell that to The Rolling Stones .

What many believe to be the greatest rock ’n’ roll band in the world showed no signs of slowing down anytime soon as they kicked off their latest tour Sunday night at Houston’s NRG Stadium.

The Stones have been touring for more than 60 years. Frontman Mick Jagger and lead guitarist Keith Richards are both 80, with guitarist Ronnie Wood not far behind at 76. Their tour is being sponsored in part by AARP.

But during a vibrant two-hour show, the Stones played with the energy of band that was on tour for the first time.

“It’s great to be back in the Lone Star State,” Jagger told the packed stadium, filled with longtime fans, many wearing faded concert shirts from previous tours.

Jagger often strutted up and down the stage with seemingly boundless energy while Richards and Wood played many familiar guitar riffs beloved by fans. Jagger often led the audience in sing-alongs.

“The energy level is up and it’s always up with them. The age doesn’t show,” Dale Skjerseth, the Stones’ production director, said Friday before the concert.

The Stones have hit the road to support the release of their latest album, “Hackney Diamonds,” the band’s first record of original music since 2005.

Houston was the first stop on the band’s 16-city tour across the U.S. and Canada. Other cities on the tour include New Orleans, Philadelphia and Vancouver, British Columbia. The tour ends on July 17 in Santa Clara, California.

During Sunday’s 18-song concert set list, the Stones played several tracks off the new record, including lead single “Angry.” They also played classics including “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Gimme Shelter,” Honky Tonk Women” and “Start Me Up.”

After playing “Beast of Burden,” Jagger said that concertgoers in Houston had voted to include it on the set list.

“You can’t go wrong with that,” one man in the audience could be heard screaming.

The Stones also played some unexpected choices, including “Rocks Off,” from their 1972 double album “Exile on Main St.” and “Out of Time,” a 1966 song that Jagger said during the concert had not ever been played by the band in the U.S.

With the 2021 death of drummer Charlie Watts , the Stones are now comprised of the core trio of Jagger, Richards and Wood. On Sunday, they were backed by various musicians including two keyboardists, a new drummer, backup singers and a brass section.

While the stage was surrounded by a large collection of video screens projecting images throughout the show, the main focus of the concert was the band and their songs

Before Sunday’s concert, Jagger spent time on Friday touring NASA’s Johnson Space Center in suburban Houston, posting photos on his Instagram account of him with astronauts inside Mission Control.

“I had an amazing trip to the space center,” Jagger said.

When asked if the band might be thinking about retiring, Skjerseth said he doubts that will happen.

“This is not the end. They’re very enthused,” he said.

This story has been updated to correct a song title to “Gimme Shelter,” not “Gimmer Shelter.”
