This is our second time using Peace River Charters. Both experiences were wonderful! We did a swamp buggy tour and airboat tour. Our reservation was first thing in the morning- a perfect way to start the day!

The airboat ride was awesome had a great time with Captain Butch check in was super easy. You can bring drinks on the boat. Not sure if that's really advertised. There are some there you can purchase. My only negative to the place is the bathrooms for what you spend would have been nice to have a cleaner bathroom for both men and women.

Never Have I *Ever* seen so many alligators! What a fun trip! When our family visits it's always fun to do something "typically Florida!" We have gone on 3 different (and excellent) Airboat tours: 2 in the Myakka area and 1 along the east coast of Florida. Peace River Charters was the best yet as Captain Butch knew just where to go - and we had plenty of fun when he did the "Tokyo drift" along the river! Who knew alligators laid along tree limbs above the water? Who knew there was a temperature range in which alligators rest to digest their meals? And after the tour - where else could one safely hold young alligators? AND a gift shop with all things alligator! Peace River Charters isn't only Airboats - but also has super-tall buggy ridesi and playground equipment for young'uns to enjoy while waiting their tours

Bucket List!! check! We stepped outside the comfort zone. Mom and Dad 81 and a half, my older brother and sister in law and my 8 year old son. Easy drive from Venice. The staff at check in were wonderful, Captain Rick was outstanding. Getting us all and off the boat was stressful, Captain Rick was on it, stairs and all. The only thing I could think of to improve. just get some regular port-a-potties. They don't need to be cleaned, and there are no scary steps. Can't wait to do the shark tooth tour!

Great place! Had a great time seeing all of the wildlife. Highly recommend getting some feed for the gators on the property!

I took the tour via the swamp buggy. We did not see much wildlife. The swamp buggy drove slowly on a very well worn trail. The one word that would describe this experience is BORING! I have no interest in experiencing this again.

Very pleasant staff, well organized operation, tours prompt and on time with no delays. Boats very safe and swamp buggy ride also a great pleasure to partake in.

Very well organized, the boat pilot was very knowledgeable and a great chance to learn about the river. Give it whirl.

Visiting Florida, friends took us to Peace River Airboat Tours. Had a wonderful day, saw some gators , had a great ride with Captain Chris! Small animal area you can see up close . Please be aware they are renovating for an even better experience. Go it was great!!

Took our family on the airboat and monster truck buggy ride. Both were very enjoyable. Very nice staff. Tell they love their jobs. Hour on the river. Saw over 25 gators. Stopped and let us collect shark teeth. Kids loved this. The buggy ride was fun. They got to hold a baby gator at end of the events too. Overall definitely worth it. They are still recovering from the hurricane Ian. Go support them.

The Peace River Art Club is located in the town of Peace River, Alberta, a rural community of seven thousand, with a catchment area of twelve thousand.

The Peace River Art Club has always encouraged creativity through expression of art. There are a wealth of artists and talents to be found in the Peace River valley and surrounding area and as such, we strive to provide services to the entire region. We are an inclusive community and welcome all ages and ability levels.

The Peace River Art Club offers a variety of art classes and hosts two art shows per year at the Peace River Municipal Library, showcasing many of the community and area artists’ masterpieces.

In May, Vatican to offer special Marian tour of Pope's gardens

"The only way to stop war is through forgiveness!" 

The message of the Virgin Mary is both disruptive and clear. Throughout history, she has not failed to indicate to humanity her plan of salvation. At Fatima, for example, appearing to the three shepherd children, she delivered a genuine "peace plan," inviting the world to pray, to return to the Gospel, and to consecrate themselves to her Immaculate Heart. 

Prayer for Peace 

These words are as relevant as ever when considering the state of the world today.  

The Popes have always emphasized the importance and power of prayer for peace. The initiative "May with Mary," which will be offered by the Vatican Museums every Wednesday and Saturday, offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Vatican Gardens by walking through the various Marian images present there. 

Wednesday and Saturday

 "In the Marian month," explains Sister Emanuela Edwards, "on Wednesdays, pilgrims are invited to join us after the papal audience for an exceptional opening of the Gardens in honor of the Madonna. Additionally, on Saturday mornings, traditionally dedicated to Mary, visitors can take advantage of this pilgrimage tour." 

The Queen of Peace

 "May with Mary," continues the nun, "is a visit that includes 10 stops at the most important statues and images of the Madonna. It evokes a decade of the rosary, so in this period when there are many tensions in the world, at each Marian image, we will pray for peace in the world. It is worth remembering that in the gardens, there are 27 different images of the Madonna, so we can rightly say that these are Her gardens. Mary is the "Queen of Peace," and it is right to pray in this way for peace in the world." 

The Pope’s Prayer 

The Marian images featured in the "May with Mary" tour are linked to the devotion of the peoples who have turned to the Virgin in times of war to invoke peace. Regarding the Madonna of Fatima and the conflict in Ukraine, Sister Emanuela recalls: "Pope Francis followed the Fatima appeal by consecrating the cause of peace to the Queen of Peace. During our visit, we recite this same prayer in front of the statue of the Madonna of Fatima, in communion with the intentions of the Holy Father."

Mercy: The way to lasting peace 

Walking through the Vatican Gardens, we encounter another example of Marian intercession for peace: the Madonna of Mercy, created by Renata Minuto at the entrance of the Chalet of Leo XIII. 

"The Madonna," recalls the head of the Educational Activities Office of the Vatican Museums, "appeared to the peasant Antonio Botta in 1536. At that time, Savona was using all its forces in a war against the Republic of Genoa. Mary appeared to invite both parties to peace, urging them to use mercy and not justice, thus putting an end to the conflict. 

Appearing as Our Lady of Mercy, our Mother teaches us how to have lasting peace. This is what she wants us to remember today in our world torn by war. The only way to stop war is through forgiveness!" 

The spirituality of the Vatican Gardens 

Nature, fountains, ancient artifacts, statues of the Virgin and saints contribute what can be defined as the "spirituality of the Vatican Gardens," a refuge of prayer and contemplation appreciated and lived by the Successor of Peter. 

"In this beautiful place, the Popes, such as John Paul II and Benedict XVI, used to take a daily walk as a moment of rest and prayer. Even Pope Francis, like his predecessors, adorned the Gardens with a statue of the Virgin of Luján, made from recycled materials to remind us that nothing is lost, nothing is discarded, but everything has meaning within the magnificent work of God. We can say that, in a sense, the garden also reflects the teachings of the Popes, and this also leaves us with an important message."

As the latest leg of her tour gets under way, fans are closely watching the evolution of the singer’s setlist

Taylor Swift has now played two nights in Paris as the latest leg of her Eras tour gets under way. For many fans and Swift-curious observers, one question has been how the singer-songwriter might incorporate songs from her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which she released during a break between tour dates.

In Paris on Thursday night Swift described her new block of songs as “Female rage, the musical”, and added seven of them from her new 31-track album, including the lead single Fortnight.

Elsewhere, two of her album “eras” – Folklore and Evermore – were combined and the order of the other Eras were switched. On the first night, the mid-show “surprise songs” featured (aptly) Paris, a track from Midnights and loml from TTPD.

Will this be the new lineup for the remaining dates? Time – and the remaining nights at La Défense arena in Paris – will tell, but here’s how the show went down on the first two nights in Paris.

CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) — Madelene Sagstrom and Rose Zhang left Nelly Korda and everyone else way behind Saturday in the Cognizant Founders Cup.

Trying to win a record sixth straight LPGA Tour event, Korda was 11 shots behind Sagstrom and 10 back of two-time NCAA champion Zhang with a round left at Upper Montclair Country Club.

After months of near-perfect play, Korda inexplicably hit bad drives, found bunkers from the fairway and missed short putts. She shot a 1-over 73.

“I think I’ve played really good golf the past couple months,” Korda said. “I’m human, so I’m going to have bad days. I’m not going to feel 100% out here mentally, physically, or whatever, but I’m going to give it my all. It was just one of those days where it felt like a constant battle and didn’t really play too well.”

Sagstrom, who has played well on this course the last three years, had a 66 to get to 19-under 197. Zhang, who won in her professional debut in New Jersey a year ago, had a 67 after lipping out on a short birdie putt at No. 18.

Unless something unexpected happens, one of them will win their second LPGA Tour title. The 31-year-old Sagstrom has not won since 2020. The Swede who starred at LSU had a bogey-free round of six birdies, highlighted by three in row on the last three holes on the front nine.

“I felt like this laser focus all week,” Sagstrom said. “I felt super, not super committed to everything, but I felt really in the moment. And that’s kind of the game I think I need to play tomorrow.”

The 20-year-old Zhang, who played at Stanford and won the Mizuho Americas Open in Jersey City last year, had seven birdies and two bogeys.

Zhang and Sagstrom had a good time on the course, congratulating each other on good shots while sharing a couple of laughs.

“I think the most important thing for me is just to really try to relax, enjoy the moment, enjoy the shots that I’m hitting,” said Zhang, whose best finish was a tie for seventh in six events this year. “Even if I’m not hitting it great, just learning how to commit to everything is the most important.”

Korda, the world’s No. 1 ranked player, was tied for third at 8 under with Sei Young Kim of South Korea and Gabriela Ruffels of Australia, who each shot 67.

The 25-year-old Korda had three birdies and four bogeys, the first coming on the opening hole after finding a bunker from the fairway. She missed her drive right on No. 5 and needed two more shots to get on the green at No. 5 for her second bogey. A three-putt from 25 feet on No. 7 was her third, and the worst was hitting a 70-or-so yard chip from the fairway right into a bunker at No. 9 for the fourth bogey.

“Yesterday was good in everything and today was poor in everything, so that’s just pretty much golf for you,” said Korda, who shot a bogey-free 66 Friday. “Just made too many kind of stupid, silly mistakes, which was unfortunate because they were playing so well. So now there is just a massive gap.”

The LPGA Tour record for largest deficit overcome in winning a tournament is 10 shots. It has been done three times by Mickey Wright (1964). Annika Sorenstam (2001) and Louise Friberg (2008 ).

Korda came into the tournament having taken two weeks off after winning the Chevron Championship. It was her fifth straight title and tied her with Hall of Famers Sorenstam (2004-05) and Nancy Lopez (1978) for the tour’s longest winning streak.

Sagstrom called Korda’s streak incredible and it’s something every player on tour strives to do.

“I think she’s really stepped up the attention on women’s golf lately and it’s really cool to watch,” Sagstrom said. “I think it’s really good for the game.”

It had to end sometime, and it’s not surprising it will probably happen this week the way Sagstrom and Zhang are playing. They’ve done a Korda on Nelly.

There are 69 shows left in the Eras Tour: 51 in Europe, nine in America and nine in Canada.

The European leg stretches from May all the way through a five-night stand at Wembley Stadium in London in mid-August.

The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.

Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.

Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.

Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.

Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. Who are the opening acts?

Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."

When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.

Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

There have been many rumors that Swift will continue her show in 2025, but they are only rumors. Nothing has been announced for next year, and as of now, the tour will end in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Dec. 8.
