What to expect!

Each tour runs approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. It's a progressive tour, this means we will show each rider how to safely operate an ATV before hitting the trails. We do cover a large amount of territory including hills, trails, open riding areas, etc. Some of the trails are dry and some have mud, be prepared to experience the backwoods of Carolina. This tour is designed for everyone regardless of experience. All of our tour guides are experienced and trail certified professionals. Find a day and time below!

We now have a Sunday tour that runs approximately two hours. This tour is designed for families with 4 or more riders. We verify each booking in this tour to ensure spots are available for families.

Description About Carolina Backwoods ATV Tours

Explore the outdoors with Carolina Backwoods ATV Adventure Tours near Myrtle Beach.

Guided tours last about an hour and a half to 2 hours and cover a large territory of trails with hills and open areas to ride. Tour guides are experienced and trail-certified for riders’ safety. Protective gear is provided and riders can choose to get “down ‘n dirty” or stay “high ’n dry”.

Reservations are required and small groups are welcome. Kids 5-11 must ride with an adult. 12 and older can ride alone. If you have the time and you want to extend your stay, cabins are available to rent with a 2-night minimum. Check out the schedule and book your reservation/stay online!

Carolina Backwoods ATV Adventures

This outfit, located just over the border in North Carolina, poses one simple question for its potential ATV-ers: down and dirty or high and dry? The answer determines where your guide will take you and your group of no more than 10. Tours are about two hours and protective gear is provided. Call ahead for more details.

Battery Park ATV

About an hour outside of Myrtle Beach lies the off-roading Mecca of Nesmith, S.C.. While ATV-ers vie for space with dirt bikes, Jeeps, and dune buggies, riders enjoy a good amount of freedom out here. Equipment rentals are available (adult ATV rentals are $150) as are lessons and guided group tours on their dozens of miles of property. If you really want to make an event of it, consider booking a campsite. 

Carolina Adventure World

This is more in the neighborhood of Columbia, S.C., rather than in Myrtle Beach, but if you don’t mind a three-hour drive, consider it. This spot is as it sounds — a world of adventure — with more than 100 miles of trails and thousands of acres of muddy bogs, watery crossings, and quiet woods, save for the hum of your motor. As with other companies, a large security deposit is required. But if you are safe, courteous, and leave the hot doggy stunt stuff for the video games, you’ll get every penny of that deposit back.

Take Your Grand Strand Adventure Off the Beaten Path

After days of relaxing on the beach at The Strand Resort, vacationers looking to explore a different side of the Grand Strand can take a four-wheel-drive scenic ride through the beautiful backwoods of the Carolinas. The Myrtle Beach area offers some of the region’s best and most adventurous ATV tours — and better yet, they are only a short car ride away from The Strand Resort.

Located in Ash, North Carolina — near the Carolina border and about a 30-minute ride north of The Strand — is Carolina Backwoods ATV Adventure Tours . The business offers private ATV tours in the Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach areas. In addition to exploring off-the-grid locales on a four-wheeler, guests are able to fish and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Depending on how experienced you are, or how dirty you’re willing to get, your Carolina Backwoods tour guide will help you determine the best trails to take for the ride of a lifetime. The tours are perfect for a family experience or a rowdy trip with a group of friends. You can have up to 10 guests in a group, and the ride will last for about two hours — plenty of time to wear the kids out. Don’t worry, Mom, they provide protective gear to assure maximum safety and fun. The price of this adventurous ride is $130 per rider; those between the ages of 5 and 11 can be accompanied by an adult for $45. 

A little bit further into the Carolina backcountry in Nesmith, South Carolina, about an hour drive west of Myrtle Beach, you will find Battery Park Off-Road Dirt Track & Trails Adventure Park . ATVs aren't the only thing you can ride around this massive off-road park. Other options for your off-road adventure include dirt bikes and jeeps.. You will get dirty, this they promise — but no worries, as they have a bathhouse just for you to wash away all of the dirt and mud after your adventure.

If you don’t have your own mode of transportation, no problem — you can rent a variety of dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and even a Jeep or dune buggy! Battery Park has over 30 miles of one-way, enduro-style trails and three loops of two-track trail. The terrain varies from beginner to advanced, so the tracks can accommodate all skill levels. To ride for the day, it is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Depending on how you prefer to get dirty, rentals range from $90 to $250.

• Guided ATV Tours

After a TON of hard work by The Swamp Park staff and many muddy days, its here!! A 1 Hour to 1.5 Hour long guided ATV experience. This tour will get you into a pristine forest, down along the Shallotte River Swamp, up hills, down hills AND….IN THE MUD!!! We use “2 up” units that will legally carry two people, our riders will need to be 16 years old and up with a valid drivers license. Our riders will need to be 8 years old and 52″ inches. Under 18 riders will need to be accompanied by an adult. We are very excited about this new offering and are excited to get people outdoors!

• We do go rain or shine so please dress for the weather.
• You could very well get dirty on this tour so please bring a change of clothes if its appropriate.
• All personal items need to be stowed as they can not go on tour “BE FREE”!
• Persons that are pregnant or suspected to be will not be able to go on this tour, we do have other options for our expecting mothers.
• You should be aware that there will be jarring and bumping around so if you have injury’s make sure you have the ok from your doctor.
• Your guide is there to be helpful and to keep you safe, your guide has the right to remove anyone from the tour at any time if they feel necessary. This will not result in a refund so please respect your guide, our machines and our property.
• Drivers must be 16 with a valid Drivers License and riders must be 8 years old and 52″. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult.
• Close toe and heel shoes are required. (sneakers/boots etc.)
• ALL DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR MACHINES, IF YOU BREAK IT, YOU BUY IT. A drivers license and valid credit card will be held on file until your return.
• All sale are final
• Due to an overwhelming amount of dangerous and disrespectful use of cell phones,  CELL PHONES are no longer allowed to be used except at the half way break.  If you have your cell phone out while driving the ATV you will be asked to stow it, ONCE.  After that, you will be removed from tour with no refund.  Thank you for your understanding.

• ATV Safety course included with tours
• 90 minute ATV rental $150, includes guided tour and helmet ($50 refundable security deposit required)
• Full day ATV Rental includes helmet and full day ride fee ($500 security deposit required)

The Myrtle Beach Classic concludes from The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is the inaugural playing of the Myrtle Beach Classic and second event in South Carolina on the PGA TOUR schedule (RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island) and is being played as an Additional Event alongside the Wells Fargo Championship.

University of Oklahoma alum Chris Gotterup birdied the final hole of Round 3 to take a four-stroke lead into the final round at 18-under. Three players of three different nationalities are tied for second at 14-under: South Africa's Erik van Rooyen, who is searching for his third TOUR win, along with Spain's Jorge Campillo and Scotland's Robert MacIntyre, who would both be first-time winners on TOUR.
