Went for dinner and had to "COVID" sign in and hand sanitise. Escorted to table and had a tablet to peruse drinks, meals, and call for waiter assistance if required. Click all the right button and you can order everything you want including variances and... extras and it all goes straight to the bar and kitchen, and like magic it all turns up at your table, very novel. Ordered a steak and I have to say it was very average, but the sides of chips, green salad, and deep fried onion rings were very good. Staff were fine. I'd go again. More

Went for dinner and met by a very friendly and polite woman who showed us to our table which was very clean. Ordering is done by a tablet but the server explained it very well and although we are in our late 60’s we were... able to follow instructions. She came back just to check our order before it was processed in case we made a mistake but everything was good. We ordered the full rack of pork ribs plus 2 large garlic prawns that came with chips and fried onions. It was absolutely delicious and for price amazing. Highly Recommended More

Easy booking, great friendly service when the 8 of us walked in. Great new way of ordering especially in covid times. Each given a ipad that has every menu item, in sections, entree, main, dessert, drinks and sections of cocktails, spirits, beers, softdrink. After selecting... your choices type your name and send it. It also comes up with the tables order can change if something ordered wrong. Brilliant. It worked and was easy to use. Quick service, meals were in great time and delicious. Big meals, for the price of them well worth it. Everyone was extremely happy with their meals. Great ambience, clean restaurant, toilets handy, very onto cleaning up the plates when getting full with rib bones etc... Cocktails were great selection, Great place. Thank you More

We went last night for our grandsons birthday. There was just four of us. We were situated next to toilet door. The smell was horrendous everytime it opened. My daughter said there was no smell in there but we were getting it from somewhere. We... asked to move but the table behind was reserved. There is a sign on the front door of entry saying no toilets opened. So not sure what's going on. But when we spend $300 , and it's a birthday we do expect that issue to be fixed asap. As for the food. The cheezy cob loaf put into the microwave does not surfice !!! For $13.00 bring me one from the oven or just have garlic bread. Footnote on eating a cob loaf in nz at queenstown steakhouse , I wont forget how crusty it was and the devine butter that came with it. It came with a bread board and was a show stopper for us that night, price was the same. The dinners were beautiful tonight. Great steaks. I dont mind the tablet for ordering, it's informative . It's really hard to get good staff today , infact it's hard to get staff. A floating staff member to answer questions of the menu would be the answer. The restaurant was 90% full last night. It could put off more older people who are not tech savvy. Would I eat there again. Yes! Address the other issues and you have a winner. Thanks More

Fantastic place to eat! We had dinner there with friends visiting and it’s quite convenient to order from tablets at the table. The meals were good value, had great variety and all of our meals were cooked superbly. The highest of recommendations!

Was recommended to eat here by the hotel we were staying at. All I can say was so happy we went. Service was exceptional, place was ultra clean and they have a fantastic electronic menu that allows you to call the waiter or order a... extra drink at your leisure. The meal it self was wonderful. A little large but. If your a rib lover and in Tamworth you won't find a better place. A+++++ More

We arrived without a booking and the restaurant was not busy. We were seated at a table that had not been cleaned after the prior guests and had crumbs and drink marks on the table. The service we received initially was great by the waitress... but after that the service was terrible! When the dessert came out it was not to order and there was no apology, we were just told what we ordered wasn’t available and the plate was put on the table and the waiter just walked off. When the mains arrived, the plates were handed to me to pass out to the others, we only had 5 at the table. The food was very good though and the kids meals were value for money. However, when we left there was no friendliness, we felt we were an inconvenience. More

Great food well cooked and extremely tasty. Loved the monkey gland sauce. The tablets to order are a great idea. Excellent service and excellent food. What more could you ask for. A fantastic lady behind the bar is what you ask for. She kept coming... out checking everyone was happy. An asset to the business. More

Was recommended to visit by the local dan Murphy's as a good steak place. I was enthusiastic to try it but went from bad to worse really. Service was terrible. Food took ages to come. Staff were not at all helpful and not happy to... assist with any requests. Avoid. Better options at the pub and a lot cheaper. More

Quite simply if you like meat then this is the place for you! We went as a group after a busy work day travelling through NSW and we were all hungry - or so we thought. The orders were varied but just about everyone has... ribs. I had a small ribs and a steak and I couldn't get through it all. And wow what taste - so yummy! I think only one person in our group managed to finish their meal so go here when you are starving! Well worth a visit! More

To begin with you have to order on a tablet and then search for staff if you have a question. It's EXTREMELY overpriced for the quality of the food. Almost $30 for a burger. We had to order sides of vegetables which were straight out... of a frozen coles bag and microwaved. The cob loaf was also a microwaved lump of goo. The only saving grace was the pomegranate cocktail, which was great. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend the venue or the food. More

We were recommended this restaurant and now we will recommend it to others. It was excellent. Really good value for money. From the innovative way of ordering (we'd not seen that system before), to the service, to the actual food, we could not fault. The... ribs and steak were incredible. We know where we'll be eating next year when we come back to Tamworth. Great for kids too. More

We had looked online and really couldn't believe the size of the menu. Could this be real ? anyway we booked (website has pictures of all the food) and arrived to go to the Bull Riding Finals ! This is an easy review to do.... Fantastic service, Fantastic food it was, well fantastic. We saw other peoples food coming out of course, huge servings, straight off the grill. They seem to do a lot of take away as well but this didn't interfere with our service at all. Everyone was just great and so easy to talk to and deal with. They told me they don't hire people who aren't inherently friendly. And that certainly seemed to be the case. You will not be disappointed it is a great pace to eat. Venue a bit worn and looking for a facelift BUT HEY you're in a tent in Africa what did you expect !!!!! More

Not a great experience. Tablet to order your food was impersonal. Table was tiny for 4 people. Steak was worst steak ever experienced in NSW. Salad was pre-packed. Will never recommend or go back.

I am a Texan. I come from steak country. I had the opportunity to dine in here a few months ago. I was visiting the farms around the area and this place was highly recommended. I was told that it will put my home state... to Shame. And I was told as it was run by Africans it is fair that we support them. Well, so off we went from this property to eat in this steakhouse. ( I would not call it a restaurant). As we stepped in (it was was a weekday and we did not have reservations), this very large rude looking White lady loomed upon us and asked us what we wanted. Bouncer was the term that came to my mind. We told her we wanted to dine in and she shoved us to a table even though there were enough vacant spots. I did not see many reserved plaques on the tables. Anyway my host was OK with that. He said it is how they do it. Well, well this is Australia.. I told myself. Even though Australia does not do it this day and I am so glad that this country does not believe in tipping (that great American Malaise). The menu came in and the lass who brought it in did not even have the patience to explain it. The bouncer lady was constantly looking at us as if we were wasting the waitress' time. We ordered the food. The prices were atrocious. But my host kept saying the serves are huge. Anyway I ordered Boerewors Tempter, Man O' War ( because it was a mixed platter) and I can't remember what my host got. The lass who was taking the order did not have the patience to actually explain to me. It was as if my accent was something she could not understand. I speak American. Anyway, the food came along after a while, it did not bother me, I am a Texan after all. The food was so middling I was disappointed. My host was like.. aren't the serves huge. My chicken was under-cooked and when I tried to point it out to the waitress, she would not even listen. We did finish our dinner and paid the bill. Questions lingering in my mind as I left were : Why was there not a single black person serving The chief waitress should have been a black matron The patrons seem to be of the racist kind. Did not see a single colored patron It this place was in downtown Austin it would be ripped apart. And if it were New York, it would be close down. The menu was very White South African and that has negative connotations to me. A lot of racist Afrikaaners did sneak into this country and I am a Texan, we could claim to have invented/ fine tuned racism along with Mississippi and Alabama. NO OUTDOOR SEATING. More

We went with 2 locals who love the place. Food was excellent all around. 4 mains, 4 cocktails and 2 bottles of $35 wine brought the bill up to $250. No complaints, just smiles. Staff were fantastic.

OK the portions are big, almost obscene, but there it ends. Despite the restaurant being packed, prices are too high and cannot justify the food or service provided. By European standards this establishment is a rip-off. £80 for a shared starter, 2 x burger and chips and a shared dessert, plus wine at £18.00. One burger was over cooked, burnt to a cinder and dried out. It was returned and replaced without question, but the replacement was only marginally better. If the the local populus are prepared to put up with this standard of food and service they must be short on choice in Tamworth

Amazing atmosphere and the food was delicious. Especially the onion rings. Service was amazingly quick. Couldn't be happier. Little fuss pot 1 year old, devoured his kids burger as if he had never tasted anything quite as good.

Generous serving sizes are the rule here,and the happy buzz from a crowded restaurant showed everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves. One of our party had a sizzling steak which was cooked to perfection, just the way he liked it - best steak he'd had in years was his comment! Another had the ribs and duck, which came with a generous serve of sauce - delicious. The beef salad was an excellent choice for a smaller appetite, and the beef and cheese burger was exactly what the last member of our party wanted. The service was friendly and all the meals arrived together. The whole restaurant joined in a chorus of happy birthday for one patron, indicative of the relaxed and convivial vibe of this popular restaurant. It is a good idea to book as it can be very busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Bar and grill. Steakhouse. Call it what you like. It is refreshingly styled; no cheesy American clutter covering the walls. Safari inspired; a tribute to the owners homeland rather than a ploy to cover just another steakhouse. This is by far superior. Bring your appetite. The meals are very large. Did not see one plate I would consider small or medium. The feminist in me scoffed at the 'ladies steak'. Prompting me to consider ordering the largest steak possible to attempt renaming it the ladies steak. Boy I can eat but then remembered I'm not a lady. I shared the onion rings with my mum. Not the perfect rings I expected. Instead very crispy, tangled brown morsels with a subtle spice. Beware the gassy aftermath! We both ordered the 300g steak and ribs (pork) combo. The ribs were short on meat in my opinion but still delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly medium as requested. Served with your choice of one side and sauce. We chose salad, chips to share with mushroom and cheese sauces. Brought to our table by the owner Elliot. Nice touch. I'd say a tad expensive but the food, service and styling amount to being worth it.

Yiiirrhar! In the heart of beef eating country (Tamworth NSW) is this epicentre of all things MEAT - the Safari Club. This place came recommended via some locals so we decided to check it out..... The theming is african safari- but don't be fooled this is just another flavour of a regular steak house! OK- there needs to be a disclaimer with every advert for this place- you need to be able to consume a whole cow in one sitting if you're planning to have a meal here (My weak city-slicking stomach couldn't cope with the quantity). But what this place has in quantity it also has in quality! My rib eye was a perfect slab of meat- that I was only JUST able to finish. This place was also busy given it was a wednesday night! Don't expect a fine dining experience- but if you're after a great piece of meat this is the BEST there is in Tamworth! Slap you're laughing gear round that!

The food is delicious. I got the "ladies fillet" with monkey gland sauce (don't be put off by the name). It comes with very yummy onion rings. So that's the positive. Now for the negatives. The place was almost empty which seems odd for a Friday night. It is completely devoid of atmosphere. The African decor is lost by the white tiles, bright lights, white walls and 90s pop tunes playing quietly in the background (nothing takes me to the African plains like a bit of Bryan Adams!). This would all be fixed by painting the walls, dimming the lights and turning up the music (and switching it to some African beats). I'm guessing the owner (who I assume is South African) probably lives in the kitchen and is responsible for the delicious food. Unfortunately his staff are pretty hopeless. There were about 5 female staff hanging around the bar chatting while we had dirty plates on our table. The bar staff had never heard of a whisky sour so don't bother ordering anything other than a beer or house wine (the liquor bottles are clearly just for show). It's a shame the service and atmosphere are so lacking as it distracts from the great food.

A steak house with an African cover... Apart from that the food was amazing, juicy and perfectly cooked steaks.... Massive meal size and great hostess... Definately coming back, but you have to book as it gets busy...

Best place in town if you are looking for a big juicy steak, Pork Ribs and the worlds best sauce. Elliot is a magician in the kitchen

Definitely a meat lovers paradise ! Entrees are mains size. Mains are ... well lets just say don't come unless you are starving. Liked the deer head on the wall watching me eat its cousin.

Best ribs ever! Even the chef is that proud of them that he personally serves them to you. PS - skip breakfast and lunch to do them justice!

After being told they didn’t have a beer that was on the menu, an ingredient for a cocktail that was on the menu, no pork ribs (pretty essential on a Saturday night at a rib place) nor did they have our booking it was not looking positive at all! It took ages for our drinks to be served (at least 20 minutes each time) and they didn’t arrive all together. The food was well cooked and tasty but the service was so poor, it was hard to enjoy. I won’t go back. Some of these things would be forgivable if the place was new, but it’s been open for years. All round a disappointing experience.

Three things I love. Steak, smoked oysters and cheese in one. "Oyster mignon" steak stuffed with smoked oysters and cheese.... 🤤 and the boerewors was really good as well. Will definitely be back.

The food was cooked by an amature cause it was overcooked and dry, the service was very rude and cold I'll never go back there again don't waste your time.

Unfortunately the food was terrible, we ordered a cob for starter and it was dry and no flavour I had beef ribs and it was dry and my partner had the 3 type of ribs and it was just fatty and unpleasant, staff were not helpful,
