CARL PALMER Announces 'The Return Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer' Summer 2023 Tour

Sole surviving member Carl Palmer , in association with the estates of his bandmates Keith Emerson and Greg Lake , has announced "The Return Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer" 2023 summer tour. Launching its second U.S .tour in July, the shows will actually again reunite ELP live on stage through modern technology.

The tour continues the successful run of show which began in November and December 2022. After exploring the idea of a hologram tour in detail, Palmer (with the estates of Emerson and Lake ) opted for what they felt was a more honest approach using live footage of Keith and Greg on massive video walls alongside Carl (and his band) playing live on stage. The voice and instrumentation of Greg Lake and the unmistakable keyboard mastery of Keith Emerson will be mixed with Palmer 's onstage live drumming to magically reunite ELP once again.

Emerson and Lake passed away nine months apart in 2016, leaving Palmer to carry on the band's enormous musical legacy.

Says Palmer : "The film ELP made of its sold-out run at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1992 had everything we needed to make these tours happen. We were able to use just the camera shots of Keith and Greg , with the sterling audio tracks of their performances resulting in a combination of film and onstage performance of my band that brings back the magic of ELP ."

After establishing themselves in bands such as THE NICE , KING CRIMSON and THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN , ELP was formed in early 1970 as one of rock's first (and biggest) supergroups. With record sales of over 50 million and decades of sold-out tours through the 1970s and again in the 1990s, EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER has remained one of the best-selling classic rock bands of all time. The band's complete recorded catalog, now under the direction and distribution of BMG , continues to be a steady force on the international music scene. The tour will coincide with the new BMG box set of classic ELP hit singles pressed on vinyl with reproductions of the original picture sleeves.

The tour is being launched with the full approval of the Emerson and Lake estates, as well as the various managers who have represented the members of the band. "Welcome Back My Friends - The Return Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer" will be focused on the U.S. and Canada through the rest of 2023, and eventually play all over the world where ELP toured throughout its career.

In 2022, the drummer Carl Palmer, the only remaining member of Emerson, Lake & Palmer toured across the United States celebrating the 50th anniversary of the supergroup, using live footage and sound of his ex-bandmates Keith Emerson (Passed in 2016) and Greg Lake (Passed in 2016).

Now the musician announced that he will perform more in 2023 as Emerson, Lake & Palmer, “reuniting” with the help of technology with his late bandmates.

“The tour continues the successful run of show which began in November and December 2022. After exploring the idea of a Hologram tour in detail, Palmer (with the Estates of Emerson and Lake) opted for what they felt was a more honest approach using live footage of Keith and Greg on massive video walls alongside Carl (and his band) playing LIVE on stage.”

“The voice and instrumentation of Greg Lake and the unmistakable keyboard mastery of Keith Emerson will be mixed with Palmer’s onstage live drumming to magically reunite ELP once again,” The official statement said.

Carl Palmer Sets ‘Return of ELP’ Tour Using Footage of Late Bandmates

Emerson and Lake passed away nine months apart in 2016, leaving Palmer to carry on the band’s enormous musical legacy.

“About five years ago I explored the idea of trying to reunite the band using digital holograms,” said Palmer in the announcement. “We saw a few shows of other artists but it did not seem like an honest approach. Then we realized the film we made of ELP’s sold out run at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992 had everything we needed. We were able to use just the camera shots of Keith and Greg, with the sterling audio tracks of their performances resulting in a combination of film and onstage performance that brings back the magic of ELP.”

Carl Palmer Announces Return of ELP 2023 Summer Tour

Carl Palmer has announced the Return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer 2023 summer tour, which will once again digitally reunite him with late bandmates Keith Emerson and Greg Lake using modern technology.

The nine-date trek will begin on July 8 in West Jefferson, N.C., and conclude on July 29 in Westbury, N.Y. Tickets are on sale now through Palmer's website . You can see the full list of dates below.

Palmer is the sole surviving member of ELP, following the deaths of Emerson and Lake in 2016. The drummer initially looked into embarking on a hologram tour but instead opted to broadcast 1992 live footage of his late bandmates on video screens that flanked the stage. He launched the first leg of the tour last November.

"The film ELP made of its sold-out run at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1992 had everything we needed to make these tours happen," Palmer explained in a statement. "We were able to use just the camera shots of Keith and Greg, with the sterling audio tracks of their performances, resulting in a combination of film and onstage performance of my band that brings back the magic of ELP."

Palmer told UCR in October that the first time he played alongside the footage of his former bandmates, "It was emotional ... it touched me, that's for sure. But after spending all this time [on the show], I'm kind of through with the emotional bit, if you see what I mean. I'm down to the practicalities of getting it right for those two guys. That's the most important thing for me."

Carl Palmer's Return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer 2023 Summer tour kicks off in the US in July

Emerson, Lake & Palmer  drummer Carl Palmer has sent fans a message after undergoing heart surgery in London yesterday.

Palmer posted the message on his Facebook page, saying: "This morning, Carl underwent a successful Ablation procedure to restore sinus rhythm as he was previously in Atrial Fibrillation.

"Carl would to thank his Consultant Cardiologist, Dr. Tushar Salukhe, who performed the procedure, and all the wonderful attending staff on the Sir Reginald Wilson Ward at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London who have been looking after him today."

Palmer and his band will start their Return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer 2023 Summer tour in the US in July. The tour will feature Palmer and band Paul Bielatowicz on guitars and Simon Fitzpatrick on bass, performing live alongside video footage of his late ELP bandmates,  Keith Emerson  and  Greg Lake . The footage is taken from the band's 1992 performance at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Carl Palmer  is once again hitting the road with his celebration of  Emerson, Lake and Palmer . 

Just like his late 2022 shows, The Return of Emerson, Lake & Palmer 2023 Summer Tour will have Palmer performing alongside live footage of his late bandmates  Keith Emerson  and  Greg Lake , who both passed away in 2016. 

“The film ELP made of its sold out run at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992 had everything we needed to make these tours happen,” Palmer shares. “We were able to use just the camera shots of Keith and Greg, with the sterling audio tracks of their performances resulting in a combination of film and onstage performance of my band that brings back the magic of ELP.” 

The tour is set to kick off July 8 in West Jefferson, North Carolina, wrapping July 29 in Westbury, New York. A complete list of dates and ticket information can be found at  carlpalmer.com .

Taylor Swift Announces U.S. Dates for 2023 Eras Tour

The stadium shows will mark the superstar's first proper tour in nearly five years.

Taylor Swift is, at long last, headed back on the road. Following this week’s monumental chart debut of Midnights , her tenth studio album, Swift announced the U.S. leg of her 2023 Eras tour on Tuesday morning (Nov. 1), confirming her first official tour in nearly five years following months of rumors.

“I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time. I’ve been planning for ages and I finally get to tell you: I’m going back on tour,” Swift said on GMA . “The tour is called the Eras tour and it’s a journey through all of the musical eras of my career.”

Swift said that after kicking off in the U.S., the tour will go on an international swing, with those dates to be announced soon.

Support on the tour will come via a rotating cast of opening acts including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, Muna, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn. The public on-sale date for the tour will be 10 a.m. local venue time on Nov. 18. Swift has partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, with fans able to register here for the TaylorSwiftTix presale now through Nov. 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Registered fans will get a code with exclusive access to purchase tickets on Nov. 15 starting at 10 a.m. local venue time.

Previous Lover Fest Verified Fan purchasers will get preferred access to participate in the TaylorSwiftTix presale; make sure to register with the same Ticketmaster Account as your Lover Fest purchase. Capital One cardholders will have priority access to purchase tickets on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. local venue time through Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. local venue time or until supplies last.

Swift’s planned follow-up to the Reputation tour, Lover Fest, was scheduled to take place in 2020 following the 2019 release of her Lover album, but was canceled due to the pandemic. Since the Reputation tour, Swift has released four original studio albums — Lover , 2020’s Folklore and Evermore , and Midnights — as well as two re-recorded albums, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) , both in 2021.

This week, Midnights blasted in atop the Billboard 200 albums chart with 1.578 million equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 27, according to Luminate — the biggest week for any album in nearly seven years. Meanwhile, Swift made history on the Hot 100 by becoming the first artist to claim the chart’s entire top 10 in a single frame, with “Anti-Hero” debuting at No. 1 to become her ninth career chart-topper.

Scottie Scheffler , 2022 champion, is the 2024 Masters  betting favorite  with +400 odds, with Rory McIlroy the next shortest odds at +1000 and defending champion Jon Rahm listed at +1,200 as of Monday, April 8, according to sports book  BetMGM .

2024 Masters odds, picks, golf predictions: Tiger Woods projection from same model that has hit last 2 winners

X ander Schauffele is considered one of the best golfers to never win a major. Although there are plenty of golfers who can claim that if it weren't for Tiger Woods, they'd have a major title, Schauffele fell victim in Woods' most surprising victory. Woods won the 2019 Masters for his 15th major and first since 2007 to shock the golf world. Schauffele was one of three golfers who finished second. Schauffele will compete in his 25th major at the 2024 Masters, which tees off from Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday, April 11, and look to exit the conversation of top golfers without a major title.

Schauffele is 18-1 to win in the latest 2024 Masters odds. Scottie Scheffler is the 13-4 favorite to win the Masters 2024, followed by Rory McIlroy (10-1), Brooks Koepka (11-1), and Jon Rahm (12-1). Ludvig Aberg, at 24 years old and one of the most promising young golfers in the sport, competes in his first major and has 25-1 Masters odds 2024. Is he worth including your 2024 Masters bets? SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Scottie Scheffler would finish on top of the leaderboard at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit at +9000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,000.

The model also predicted Jon Rahm would be victorious at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, McClure's best bets included Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. 

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Top 2024 Masters predictions 

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2024 Masters: Justin Thomas, a 28-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Thomas has 15 PGA Tour victories, the sixth-most of any golfer in the 2024 Masters field. It's been a little bit of time since the 30-yard-old last won a tournament, but the last time he did, it was a major title. Thomas won the PGA Championship on May 22, 2022.

Thomas missed the cut at the Masters last year, but he finished eighth and fourth in his previous two showings at Augusta National Golf Club. Thomas continues to have one of the more powerful drivers on the PGA Tour, ranking 38th in driving distance this season, which is above average and is pairing that with the 11th-best birdie average on the PGA Tour. Outside of last year, Thomas has finished eighth or better in four of his last eight majors and given his strong career numbers on the PGA Tour, and often finding himself in the championship mix at majors, the model sees value in including Thomas in 2024 Masters bets. 

The model has also examined where Tiger Woods finishes. The 15-time major champion last played competitively at the Genesis Invitational in February, when he withdrew after one round due to an illness. Reaching the finish line of a tournament has been an issue for Woods since returning from his Feb. 2021 car crash. Over the seven ensuing competitive events, he's played all four rounds just three times, while also withdrawing three times and missing one cut.

However, no one knows Augusta quite like Woods, and while full-timers on tour have to go through the grind of weekly tournaments, Woods can focus his attention on this event. He's shot under par in all four rounds of a single Masters tournament a record five times, while no other golfer has more than three. He also owns the all-time lowest scoring average at Augusta of 71.1 (min. 40 rounds), and only Jack Nicklaus (15) has more top-fives at the course than Woods' 12.  The model just locked in its Tiger Woods Masters picks here .
