Best time to visit switzerland.

May, June, September, and October are wonderful months for seeing Switzerland, as the weather is typically mild, the mountain passes are still open and the country is less crowded than in the peak holiday months of July and August.

It tends to rain more in the months of March, April, October, and November, and with snowfall usually present from December, this is the perfect time for skiers and snowboarders.

Geography and environment

Landlocked Switzerland shares borders with   Austria , Lichtenstein,   Italy ,   France , and   Germany .

A highly mountainous country, Switzerland's best-known ranges are the Alps in the south, with the mighty Matterhorn and iconic Eiger being the most well-known peaks.

Home to an abundance of rolling hills, lakes, glaciers, rivers, meadows, and fields, Switzerland's landscapes are incredibly picturesque, particularly in spring and summer when the wildflowers are in bloom.

Top 5 culinary classics of Switzerland

While not enjoying the same worldwide popularity that it did in the 1960s and 70s, this Swiss classic is still alive and well in Switzerland. Although not to everyone's taste, travelers should experience sitting around a communal pot of rich, melted cheese at least once.

Who knew that a plate of grated, fried potato could taste so good? Considered to be Switzerland's national dish, Rosti was once relegated to the breakfast plate but is now served as an accompaniment to dinners too.

3. Bircher Muesli

This Swiss-German classic has taken off worldwide as a breakfast food, although it was originally created for hospital patients by a Swiss physician. Commonly eaten in the evening in southern Switzerland, it's a nutritious mix of oats, fruits, and seeds.

This brioche-like, plaited bread is a traditional Sunday morning treat in Switzerland. Dating back to the 15th century, this delicious bread can be found in bakeries all over Switzerland, especially on Sundays.

Making hundreds of varieties of cheese, Switzerland is one of the best places in the world to indulge in a dose of calcium. Whether it's a chunk of hard Gruyere, a slice of Emmental, or a bit of fruity Appenzeller, Switzerland has enough cheese shops to satisfy everyone.

Why Travel with Globus?

Perfectly Planned. Seriously Stress Free.

After 90-plus years of sharing the world with travelers, Globus has set the gold standard for award-winning touring across virtually every continent. Our global network of premiere travel partners, operations experts, and hospitality pros share one goal in mind—an exceptional travel experience no matter where we travel together.

Beyond the Guidebooks.

While Italy is synonymous with spectacular food, it is the close family connection that brings generations of tradition to the table. Globus goes beyond typical tours to introduce you to local legends and local experiences not found on just any map. Meet the Bonajuto family at Antica Dolceria—the oldest confectionery in Sicily. More than 150 years after the dolceria was founded by Francesco Bonajuto, the family still serves its heavenly chocolates in the same spot, while also serving as international ambassadors of Sicilian cuisine. Che dolce!

Don’t Miss the Must Sees.

Why stand in line to catch a fleeting glimpse of ancient ruins and remarkable historic sites? Globus gives you VIP access with an expert Local Guide to go deeper, get closer, and soak it all in. From the Parthenon to the Vatican museums, you’ll explore Europe’s most beloved locations without getting lost in a crowd or waiting in line. Don’t just file past masterpieces like Michelangelo’s David or get only a hurried look at the Crown Jewels in Edinburgh Castle. Experience Europe’s extraordinary sights—and historic sites—with the VIP access you deserve.

Dreams Realized.

The Colosseum. The Prado. Saint Paul’s Cathedral. Each Globus tour always includes the legendary landmarks, the major attractions, and the must-see sites. Going beyond the iconic exteriors, we lead you to the front of the line, straight through the door, and inside the walls of Europe’s most awe-inspiring places for an exclusive look behind the scenes. With priority access, we ensure you behold the sights you’ve long dreamed of—without waiting any longer!

Do as the Locals Do.

When in Rome—or London, Paris, or Barcelona—we arrange for you to do as the locals do, not just what the tourists do. In every itinerary, we include hands-on, authentic experiences for a true taste of a day in the life. Board a private water taxi through the Grand Canal of Venice, bake scones in an Irish farmhouse, or sample Geysir Schnapps in Iceland. By striking a golf ball at St. Andrews or dancing the Sirtaki while sipping ouzo, you truly get to step into someone else’s shoes and experience the world from an insider’s perspective.

Adventure, a la Carte

While Globus vacations get you up close and personal to the world's must-see sights and unforgettable experiences, we also know the value of spending time on your own to explore as you please. After all, travel is meant to be filled with memorable moments of your own with serendipitous surprises that can’t be planned or scheduled. We build free time into every itinerary so you can leisurely explore the beckoning bookstore, tempting café table, or whimsical window shopping that's schedule free. Don’t wait a lifetime for that once-in-a-lifetime experience that’s waiting just around the corner!

Pick your Passion.

Maybe you’re an art lover, a foodie, or a history buff. Perhaps you’re moved by music, art, cuisine, or theater. Or maybe making tracks in the great outdoors is more your speed. We offer a wide array of optional excursions and activities—tailored to a variety of fitness levels and interests—so you can customize your adventure with your own personal passions and preferences. Each Globus excursion and activity has been personally tested by us and handpicked to allow you to really get to know each destination. You never have to choose between included and optional excursions, since optional activities fit seamlessly with your vacation schedule!

A Friend in Every City.

Join us and a few of our friends in your next dream destination. After all, we’ve spent over 90 years making friends in virtually every city and country in the world who let us in on local secrets, like where to find the best scone, stein, or spumoni; the best people-watching table; or the best view of wide-open spaces. Every Globus vacation includes local experts who share the stories behind the sights and Local Favorites you won’t find in the guidebooks. Globus Tour Directors and Local Guides hail from the region through which you’re traveling. No one is more familiar, passionate, or eager to share insider knowledge than our local pros!

Went to Mount Titlis this time. It was cloudy that day so couldn't see much at the summit. At the interim stop there is a trail that you can walk around. It was about a mile or so long. It was groomed. That was fun. There is also skiing and lessons here. I would come back again.

Very cold of course. Worth the chill. Boots available to rent. Titlis cliff walk, ice flyer chair lift, glacier park, and onsite restaurant all good.

I travel a lot and have had many great experiences using Viator but this was not one. (With Best of Switzerland Tours) I was traveling alone and had a serious medical emergency the night before I was to go on the tour of a falls near Zurich (scheduled for the following afternoon) and I was admitted to the hospital in Zurich. This was the second day of my vacation. I called the tour operator from the ER, and was told that since I wasn't giving the required 24 hours' notice of cancellation, I would be charged (I was giving 19 hours' notice). I protested, and when this charge was put on my American Express the "chargback team" fought my charge dispute tooth and nail, putting the charge back on my card TWICE, even though I uploaded the hospital records (I was in the hospital three days and had follow up visits with doctors after discharge). So I gave up, but not before a kind Viator/Tripadvisor Customer Service Representative (Tripadvisor owns Viator through which the trip was booked) whom I had called when I got home told me, after hearing my details, that they granted compassionate exceptions to the 24-hour policy. She sent me an email asking me to provide them the hospital records. and i immediately sent them. She then put me on hold, and came back a few minutes later to sadly tell me she had learned that the Viator "chargeback department" (the ones who would eventually keep putting the charge on my the American Express) was handling my dispute and she could help me no further. She said the "chargeback department" was in charge and I'd be hearing from them. The only thing I ever heard from them was their continued position with American Express that they were going to make me pay. They never contacted me personally. I am saddened that the one glimpse of compassion shown me by the Tripadvisor/Viator phone agent was cut short. Congratulations to Viator's "Charge Back Department". You win! They had to have spent hours repeatedly contesting my $88.27 dispute. So disappointed in what I thought was a reputable company.

Really enjoyable tour to Mt. Titlis with Best of Switzerland Tours. The meeting point is very convenient as it is just a couple of blocks away from the central train station in Zurich. You'll find it across the street from a Starbucks and you won't miss their kiosk or the multiple tour buses lined up. We first went to the Lion Monument in Lucerne which was really impressive. It is a lot larger than you might imagine and something to behold when given the history behind the monument. The painstaking detail in that slab of rock on the hill and that went into giving the dying lion the emotion it evokes is really something else. Here is where we found out our tour guide was eager to help us get the best photos in front of the monument. Really helped us get our entire family into the shots. Next we got to spend time shopping in the open air farmer's marketplace that runs through the heart of Lucerne. There were so many great food items that we couldn't help but purchase a few. Some highlights included the beautiful and delicious Swiss pastries we bought. It was also neat to be able to travel across the river Reuss on the wood bridges. I thought we had a good amount of time to spend here but the market has everything from fruits and veggies to meats and dairy and even spices and fresh pasta. Something is sure to pique your interests. Then we got to Mt. Titlus. Before taking the lift up to the mountain we were given plenty of clear instructions on where and when to meet so that the bus wouldn't leave without us. They also provided the tickets for the lift up as well as for the activities while at the top of the mountain including the ski lift, the Glacier Caves, and the Cliff Walk which is Europe's highest suspension bridge. I'd recommend the Cliff Walk on any day whether hazy or clear because it is the biggest adrenaline rush. It was a hazy day but that didn't diminish the breathtaking experience of being at the top of Mt. Titlis. They gave us plenty of time to explore and the whole process of procuring tickets and traveling up by gondola lift was all very streamlined and efficient and explained completely. The rotating lifts offer a 360 degree view of the mountains and offers some of the most majestic panoramic views of the top of the Swiss Alps. Tip: look out for the Selfie-Gondola it is bright red and has a camera inside that doubles as a photobooth to take the some memorable pics. The bus was pretty good, a double decker with reclining seats. I found myself napping a few times which meant the ride was smooth and easy. The Tour guide spoke several languages including if I remember correctly Spanish, German, English, French, and Swiss German just to name a few. This helps everyone in the bus traveling from different countries to understand and it helped to make the tour personal to everyone. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a very pleasant voice. She knew when to be more verbose in areas that required more explanation but also knew when to dial it back so the passengers could rest on the long bus rides. I'd definitely book with Best of Switzerland Tours again especially because there are so many places that you can reach by their bus.

We had a great time seeing the Swiss countryside and Jungfraujoch! Trudy was a wonderful tour guide with a lot of great facts about Switzerland and each destination on the route. We didn't have to give any thought to travel and we had enough time to see all of the sights. If you want to get out and see the sights outside the city, this is the way to do it.

Photo of Daniel H.

I took the Best of Switzerland tours when I visited Zurich recently and had a quite enjoyable time taking in the sights of the city, as it was my first time there. We opted for the Extended Tour because we didn't have too much time in Zurich, and wanted to see as much as we can in one day. The extended tour didn't take up too much time, and I think the whole trip returning back to the terminal only took about 4 hours. We took a charter bus around to stop at the various locations in Zurich, and the tour itself was conducted in both English and German. However, everything was very clear and I didn't have any trouble hearing what the tour guide had to say about each of the sites that we visited. The tour guide was also very pleasant, and I had no problem asking her questions about anything at all. For this particular tour, we visited the a stop by the lake, as well as a church and some of the historic sites of the city. Even when we were on the bus, there was also commentary to explain where we were going as well as the sites that we passed by. We also did a drive by one of the famous college, and I believe it was ETH where Einstein had previously taught in the past. My favorite part was when we took a ferry to cross the lake, and this was a really cool experience because the whole bus drove onto the ferry so we didn't have to come down if we didn't want to. However, I do recommend you do because the view of the lake from the ferry itself was absolutely stunning. When we reached the other side, we did a short drive to the base of the mountain, where we took a cable car to reach the top. The views of the city from there were even more amazing, although it was a bit chilly since we went during the winter time. The trip concluded by taking us back to the bus terminal where we boarded. Overall, I had a really good time with this tour company. The city of Zurich is absolutely beautiful, and I would definitely like to return and spend more time here in the future. My only wish would be if the company provided some kind of transportation service to and from the hotel because we had to get to the departure place on time and on our own. If you choose to go with this company, make sure that you are on time because they will leave you behind, as we noticed with some of the other guests who didn't make it onto the bus and had to meet up with us at the first stop on their own.

When you are limited with time in Switzerland, Best of Switzerland Tours is the place to go for efficient day trips. We decided to go with them on the day trip to Mt. Titlis with a stop at Lucerne. Best way to kill two birds in one stone all at the comfort transportation in their double deck bus. We checked in at the meeting point and everything was smooth. We got going and our tour guide gave us a brief history on the area and the sights we were going to see. After 45 minutes in, we first went to the Lion Monument in Lucerne and it was really special when you see it in person. The size of the monument is very grand with such intricate detail. Next, we had about 1 1/2 hrs to explore Lucerne and we were fortunate enough to be there right when they had the Farmer's Market. It was a lovely market with a lot of fresh produce, bakery goodies, and flowers all surrounding the picturesque setting by the water. Next, we were on our way to Mt. Titlis (45 minutes away) and our tour guide was very clear with instructions on how to take the cable up and provided tickets for the rotating lift that provides amazing 360 panoramic views. Unfortunately, it was a cold and hazy day filled with complete white snow. However, it was still quite the adventure! We had plenty of time to explore the area and went straight to Europe's highest suspension bridge, the Cliff Walk! After seeing epic pictures of this daring bridge, it was on my top of the bucket list. Everything was hazy that day so we couldn't see much visibility below us, everything was white. Next, we headed over to the ice flyer even though it was freezing (tour guide will provide tickets), we hopped on and hopped off after 5 minutes. It was snowing and freezing but a memorable adventure. Mt. Titlis also has a cool ice cave where you feel like Batman for a good minute. Overall, the tour was very efficient and I still felt like we had enough time to see and do everything. Our tour guide was very informative and spoke multiple languages. Note, bring snacks or pack a light lunch as there is limited food once you're up in Mt. Titlis. Read more on my adventure: http://camchowda.com/mt-titlis-day-trip-from-zurich/

My mom, my sister, and I were staying in Zurich and decided to take the Mount Pilatus Summer Day Trip from Zurich tour with Best of Switzerland Tours. Seeing the city of Lucerne was INCREDIBLE! We had a great tour guide who spoke 5 different languages and told us everything we needed to know about Zurich, Lucerne, and Mt. Pilatus while on the bus tour. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day so the hike to the summit of Mt. Pilatus didn't provide us the experience we were seeking, but still being above the clouds was incredible. The rides up and down in the gondolas were fun and we can see the view that we were meant to see through the gondolas. I have never received the amount of replies from my posts on Instagram and Facebook about Lucerne - a very beautiful city and I wish we could spend more time there. I highly recommend this trip because it was probably our favorite of the excursions we signed up for in Switzerland. Definitely book this trip the day before so you have an idea of how the weather will be and can make a decision based on the weather so you can have a chance to see the views from the top of the mountain.

Switzerland experiences a diverse range of weather and climate due to its varied topography. In general, it has a temperate climate with distinct seasons. Summers are mild to warm, with average temperatures ranging from 20 to 25°C (68 to 77°F), while winters are cold, especially at higher altitudes, with temperatures often dropping below freezing. The mountainous regions receive significant snowfall, making them popular destinations for winter sports. Spring and autumn are transitional seasons characterized by mild temperatures and occasional rainfall.

On-Tour Luggage & Carry-On Bag Size Limits

Luggage : Each guest traveling may bring one suitcase no larger than 30” x 18” x 10" and weighing no more than 50 lb

Carry-On Bag : *Restricted to one piece per person, not to exceed 12” x 11” x 6”

  • *Please note : A "carry-on bag" on a tour coach is not the same as a "carry-on" for a flight. Because our coaches have large windows to enjoy the view, there is minimal space to store large items securely overhead or under the seats. A "carry-on bag" may be a soft-sided daypack, purse, backpack, tote bag, or the like. Because we value our guests' safety, small rolling suitcases or bags with telescopic handles are not permitted. In order to guarantee a smooth trip, guests are not permitted to store an additional "carry-on" bag beneath the coach with the luggage.

So your driver and any hotel porters can safely lift and transport your suitcase throughout your vacation, we strongly recommend that you test the weight of your baggage prior to travel. You should be able to lift and comfortably transport it for short distances.

Baggage allowances vary from airline to airline, and you should check with your chosen carrier for details prior to travel.

Packing Tips for Your Tour

Packing for a guided tour will vary depending on the duration of the trip, the time of year, and the activities planned. Here is a general packing list to help you get started:

Passport and Travel Documents : Ensure you have your passport , travel insurance , and any necessary travel documents.

  • Comfortable walking shoes: Cobblestone streets and uneven terrain require comfortable footwear.
  • Lightweight, breathable clothing: Pack clothes suitable for the season. Bring a mix of short-sleeved tops, lightweight pants or skirts, and a few long-sleeved options for cooler evenings for the summer months, and long-sleeved and heavier layers for early Spring, Fall, and Winter.
  • Layers: It's advisable to bring a light jacket or sweater and a scarf for layering, especially in Spring or Fall.
  • Nice evening wear: You may wish to wear a dressier outfit if you plan on dining in an elegant restaurant, for example. Smart-casual clothes are usually acceptable for all included daytime and evening activities throughout your tour.
  • Rain Gear: Depending on the season and the countries you're visiting, it's a good idea to pack a compact rain jacket or umbrella.

Sun Protection:

  • Hat, sunglasses, UV-protective clothing.
  • Sunscreen with high SPF. If you're visiting any coastal areas, bring reef-safe sunscreen formulated without harmful chemicals known to be damaging to coral reefs and marine life. Traditional sunscreens often contain ingredients like oxybenzone and octinoxate, which have been found to contribute to coral bleaching and negatively impact marine ecosystems. Look for sunscreens with certifications such as "Reef Safe," "Coral Safe," or "Ocean-Friendly" to ensure they are environmentally friendly .

Medications and First Aid:

  • Any prescription medications you need. (See more below under Health & Wellness)
  • Basic first aid kit with adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, etc.

Toiletries:

  • Travel-sized toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toothpaste.
  • Travel towel (quick-drying and compact).
  • Hand sanitizer and wet wipes.
  • A washcloth and carry bag (often not available in hotels abroad).

Electronics:

  • A camera: You’re traveling to see extraordinary scenery and sites. So that you don't miss a single moment, bring a trustworthy camera. Check out our travel photography tips for capturing the best photos of your trips. If you feel comfortable, you can also try the camera on your phone . However, if you want to zoom in or capture moving objects, a camera might be your best bet.
  • Mobile phone.
  • Chargers for each electronic you bring.
  • Travel adapter and/or voltage converter
  • Portable power bank for charging devices on the go.
  • Small travel hair dryer (make sure you have the correct converter and adapter).

Miscellaneous:

  • A travel-friendly daypack or bag to carry your essentials during excursions.
  • Insect repellent.
  • Reusable water bottle. At GET, we’re all about caring for our planet , and with that in mind, we always recommend that you pack a reusable water bottle for your trip. Bringing your own reusable water bottle or asking for tap water at restaurants means you can make a difference by reducing your vacation plastic waste.
  • A small travel alarm.
  • A travel iron if you like your clothes to be pressed.
  • A travel pillow.
  • Scarf or shawl for visiting religious sites or to cover up in conservative areas.
  • Light sleepwear.
  • A new, blank journal to document your trip. Don't know your travel journal style? Find out here !
  • Ziplock bags (storing snacks, toiletries, and keeping things organized).

Remember to pack light and versatile items that can be mixed and matched for different outfits. Laundry facilities are often available, or you can have your clothes laundered at hotels during your trip. It's also a good idea to pack a small bag or backpack to bring on the coach for day trips and excursions, leaving your larger luggage at the hotel.

Electricity

American appliances run on 110-120 volts at 60 Hz, while European appliances run on 220-230 volts at 50 Hz.

As a result, American appliances designed for use in the United States (typically 120 volts at 60 Hz) may not be directly compatible with the higher voltage used in European countries. Plugging a 120-volt appliance into a 220-240-volt outlet without the appropriate voltage converter or transformer can cause damage to the appliance or pose safety risks.

If you plan to bring American appliances to Europe, you will need a voltage converter or transformer to change the voltage to 220-240 volts from 110 volts. Additionally, you will likely need a plug adapter to fit the American-style plug into the European power outlets. All of Europe operates on the same two round-pronged outlets (Type C).

It's important to note that not all appliances are compatible with voltage converters, so it's essential to check the labels or user manuals of your devices before using them with a voltage converter. Some electronic devices, such as laptops, smartphones, and camera chargers, are dual voltage and can support 120V and 220-240V, so they may not require a voltage converter, but a plug adapter will still be necessary.

To avoid any issues with electrical compatibility during your travels, consider purchasing appliances specifically designed for the voltage used in the region you'll be visiting or use appropriate voltage converters and plug adapters to ensure the safe operation of your American appliances in Europe.

We recommend purchasing an adapter with a voltage converter so you can pack less. And to pick up any necessary adapters or converters for your electronic devices before departing on your guided tour and bringing them with you.

Hair Dryers in Your Hotel

Hair dryers are common accessories in hotels. Should you want to bring your own, though, you will need to bring an adapter and voltage converter or make sure it is dual voltage by checking the label for INPUT AC 120V - 240V or a switch that can be set to 125V or 250V. Many devices have this feature, so it's worth checking before you travel. If you need a hair dryer during your trip but can't find one in your hotel room, you can inquire with the hotel staff. Many hotels will be able to provide a hair dryer upon request, either at the front desk or through housekeeping.

Air Conditioning

Air conditioning is commonly available in European hotels, restaurants, and public spaces, especially in major cities and tourist areas, but it is worth noting that the settings will differ from what you are used to in the USA.

However, it's important to note that not all accommodations or historic buildings may have air conditioning, particularly in more traditional or rural settings. Most hotels in Europe can provide a portable fan for additional room cooling if requested. Your Travel Director will be on hand to assist you throughout your trip.

Traveling by coach

Our modern air-conditioned coaches have been selected with your comfort in mind. Your Travel Director will familiarize you with all the onboard features, including a washroom fitted for your convenience and comfort. Regular stops are made to stretch your legs, take refreshments, fill up your water bottles, and use the facilities.

Airport transfers

Airport transfers to and from the airport on the first and last days of your tour are complimentary only if you are traveling on a tour operated by Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, or Luxury Gold, and   your flight times coincide with the shuttle-coach transfer timings. Learn more about Airport Transfers here .

To enable you to personalize your tour experience, you will find a number of Optional Experiences designed to complement the itinerary. These are designed to offer a deeper insight into the culture and character of the areas to be visited and provide some wonderful highlights to your travels. The optional program is designed to let you experience more of what interests you and to get the most from your vacation without replacing or overlapping with anything included in an itinerary.

The majority of Optional Experiences will be offered to you by your Travel Director at the beginning of your trip. Some may be subject to change, depending on the time you are traveling or local circumstances, including weather and days of the week. Your Travel Director will provide further information.

Usually, most Optional Experiences will be priced in the local currency, but please read through the details of individual optional experiences for specific information. Exact payment options will be advised locally by your Travel Director/Local Representative for each Optional Experience, but in many cases, cash, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are all accepted.

It is recommended to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses while abroad.

In order to ensure a healthy and enjoyable trip, we strongly suggest that you pack a plentiful supply of any medication you may need while on vacation. Here’s what you need to know about traveling with medications .

Prior to traveling, please notify GET of any disability requiring special assistance or any specific dietary needs that you may have, and we will strive to accommodate these.

It's essential to ensure that your routine vaccinations are up-to-date before traveling to any destination. Routine vaccinations may include vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, and influenza.

When traveling with GET, baggage handling at hotels, service charges, and tips for hotel wait staff (for included meals) will all be taken care of by your Travel Director. There are, however, a few instances where individual tipping is welcome.

Local Specialists

It is customary to show appreciation for the insights, stories, and know-how shared with you by the Local Specialists, and we suggest a gratuity equivalent to $1.00-$2.00 USD per person per half day.

Your Coach Driver and Travel Director

The trip cost does not include gratuities for your Travel Director and Driver. At the end of your trip, you may express appreciation to your Travel Director and Driver for their excellent service and the personal attention you received. Gratuities are given at the discretion of each guest, and a suggested amount per person/per day is listed in your travel documents.

For your convenience and ease, there is an option to pre-pay gratuities for the Travel Director and Driver at the time of booking.

Hotel services

It is customary to tip hotel staff for room service delivery if the charge has not already been added to the bill. Where ice machines are not available, and you receive ice from the bar, a small tip to the bartender is always appreciated.

Where You'll Stay

Operated by intrepid travel.

Back in 1989, two guys from Melbourne, Australia by the names of Darrell and Manch set off on an adventure to the other side of the world. They travelled to Africa and without air conditioning on their modified truck, they filled it with supplies, some beer, a bunch of aviator sunglasses, and some friends. On that trip, they came up with the idea that perhaps others may be interested in this style of travel too. Just like that, Intrepid was born. Intrepid has come a long way since then, now giving over 100,000 travelers a year the opportunity to experience small group travel across all 7 continents. They use local transport, sleep in local accommodation from Cambodian stilt houses to Moroccan riads, and employ 100% local leaders. With three different travel styles including basix, original and comfort, themes ranging from cycling trips to family holidays, and itineraries crafted with the perfect balance of must-see sights and free time, Intrepid caters to every type of traveller no matter their age, budget or travel style. The company has grown but their mission remains the same: to change the way people see the world through sustainable, experience-rich travel
