The View are a Scottish indie rock band originally from Dundee and consists of Kyle Falconer, Kieren Webster, Pete Reilly, Steven Morrison and Paul Band.
The View initially formed around a cover band at school, playing their own versions of bands such as Squeeze and the Sex Pistols and a number of their own songs at school talent contests. The band began to tour the small venue circuit around their hometown and after their second billed gig at The Doghouse, they were signed to local independent Dundee record label Two Thumbs, and released a self-titled EP in early 2006. This gained the band attention from Radio 1 DJs including Zane Lowe and Edith Bowman along with Radio 2 DJ Dermot O'Leary who gave the band a substantial amount of airplay before the LP was even released.
The album 'Hats Off to the Buskers' was released in early 2007 and featured four top 40 singles, including their highest peaking release to date 'Same Jeans' which entered the UK top five upon release. This album won critical acclaim and the band were supported throughout by music publication NME, taking part in their Awards Tour that year alongside The Horrors and The Automatic. Their next album release 'Which Bitch?' came in 2009 and was a substantial disappointment in terms of chart success, it entered the UK album charts at #4 yet fell twenty seven places the following week before disappearing from the top forty the week after.
They didn't regain their chart status until the 2012 album 'Cheeky For A Reason' which entered the UK top ten chart and topped the chart in their native Scotland. In 2013 the band also released a compilation album entitled 'Seven Year Setlist' which featured their most played live tracks along with some new material. The band are known for their relentless touring schedules having never really taken a break from the road since the beginning back in 2006.
Live reviews
The View The weather was glorious as The View strolled onto the stage. I’d been a big fan of The View since I saw them as relative newbies, supporting Babyshambles a number of years earlier. A perfect band for a beautiful August day I thought. The smell of suncream excited the nostrils, laughter filled the ears and cider was being drank and ‘soon to be spilled’ in ridiculous amounts. There was no doubt that the mood was jovial. They started of in full swing with ‘Same Jeans’, a catchy singable song and got the crowd were roaring with approval and singing along straight of the bat. There is something so ‘anthem’ like about their songs, instantly recognisable and ever so singable. Lead singer often bantered with the audience in his Dundee accent and clearly enjoying the show himself. They went through all their hits from they're cracking debut album ‘Hats Off To The Busker’ and also performed a brilliant cover of Squeeze’s ‘Up The Junction’ For me The View are a no nonsense, feel good, Indie rock band. If you want to dance to listen to some great pop/rock tunes, have a few drinks and feel happy. Seeing The View should certainly be penciled in on your calendar.

What travelers say about their tours of the United States
Travel tips for usa tours.
While we could list quite a number things to see on tour in the United States, here are our top picks:
- The Grand Canyon in Arizona, one of America’s most-visited national parks, for colorful hikes
- New York City and Washington, D.C. , for the iconic American experience
- Hawaii , for beautiful beaches, spectacular sunsets, and a unique culture
- Zion National Park in Utah, for canyons, rivers, and incredible views
You don’t have to leave the U.S. to go on a memorable vacation. One of the best benefits of our United States tours is that you can see beautiful sights right in your proverbial backyard. You won’t have to worry about long flights, exchanging currencies, or language barriers. Plus, you can learn more about the places your ancestors may have traveled or lived, as well as build a deeper connection to the country you call home.
The best time to travel in the U.S. depends on where you’re going and what you’re hoping to do.
Spring: Consider U.S. National Parks Adventure: A Week in the Southwest for outdoor hiking and sightseeing when it’s not too hot outside.
Summer : Visit Denali National Park in Alaska for some of the most majestic landscapes and wildlife sightings when it’s warmer.
Fall: Visit Vermont and Massachusetts for stunning views of fall foliage and colonial history, or go on our Albuquerque Balloon Festival & U.S. National Parks tour for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
What to pack for USA tours depends on where in the country you go and what you are hoping to do. If you are going to Nashville and New Orleans , you’ll want to bring a lot of light layers to keep comfortable in the heat and humidity. If you’re going to Alaska , on the other hand, you’ll want to bring a lot of heavy layers to keep warm in the cold. All of our tours include custom packing suggestions, so check the clothing and packing tips in the tour you love.

Get Tickets to See The View Live in New York City
The View is a popular daytime talk show that airs on ABC and is one of the few shows in New York City that airs live in front of a studio audience, which makes it a particularly fun show to attend. However, you will want to ask your friends or family to record it for you if you want to see if you made it on the screen during the episode you attend.
Prominent figures such as Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Paula Faris, and Meghan McCain share the spotlight as they discuss popular political topics and entertainment news with celebrity guests and visiting topical experts.
If you are approved for tickets and need wheelchair access, you should contact "The View" by email to let them know ahead of time.
Getting Tickets Online or From Stand-By
It's very easy to request "The View" tickets online , and ticket availability through their website is in real-time, so you can often see tickets that are available over the next few weeks.
As a word of caution, don't let the "waitlist" option discourage you—if you're interested in a particular day (or days) sign-up and you will be notified if tickets become available. It's an easy, commitment-free way to get added to the list, and if the tickets become available they will notify you via email so you can sign up for them.
If you do see availability, it's a good idea to act quickly because they notify a larger number of people than there are tickets available, and you certainly don't want to miss out on getting one!
On the other hand, you can pick up an assigned number at the audience entrance (57 West 66th Street) at 8:30 a.m., but keep in mind that seats are limited so you should arrive early to get a lower number. If you get a lower number and think you'll get into the show, return to the standby line at 10:20 a.m. where a limited number of tickets will be distributed, as determined by numerical order.
Day of Show Information
Just a short walk away from the 1 and 2 train lines at the 66th Street- Lincoln Center station, "The View" airs live Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon, but ticket holders must arrive at the studio by 9:30 a.m.
If you do get a ticket to the show, you will need to bring a photo I.D. for security clearance and must be at least 16 years of age to attend. Audience members are encouraged to dress "upscale casual"—the studio recommends bright colors and doesn't allow black and white, shorts, t-shirts, or any items with large logos on them.
The studio for "The View" gets quite chilly, as though it's pumped full of refrigerated air, so be sure to bring a sweater or jacket if you're attending a taping.
